Great service. Rode four different busses throughout the day with the unlimited off and on tickets. All of the tour guides gave different and informative information.

Went on ghost tour Friday night with Lissa and went to the Pirates house and it was great Saturday went on tour with Papa Jack and he and I believe smiling Sam were awesome.
Our tour guide was great! We had already been in Savannah for a few days and we had a rental car so we only decided to do the 1 hour tour as we didn t need to hop on and hop off. I am so glad we did the tour, we got to see things we didn t realize where there with the car we rented. Really nice tour and they had characters dressed up like Forrest Gump and a pirate come aboard and chat for a minute or two...really made the whole experience better, would definitely recommend to anyone who wants an overview of the city!!! Go for it, it was only about $22 US per person, well worth the money...TIP: bring a few dollars to tip the driver at the end, bring a bottle of water and some sunscreen for your arms that hang out the open windows...Enjoy!!
What a great way to start our visit to Savannah! Parking was easy and free, the buses run continuously and the off and on access is great for exploring. Our bus driver and tour guide was Steve Ellis. He was outstanding. His knowlege of the city and his color commentary made the tour both educational and entertaining. He made the truly a memorable experience.
Awesome tour. Took the on/off tour. Each trolley driver was knowledgeable with the history of Savannah.
Rude, misogynistic, unprofessional staff. I cancelled my tour and went across the street to their competitors and had no issues.
Hampton is an amazing tour guide! Highly recommended! Take the tour!
Our guide was the BEST! (I am almost positive his name was Chris, but it's months later that I'm doing this review, so I could be mistaken). Our guide was very knowledgeable, (he was a local of several generations) and was funny as well as knowledgeable about the area. Nice tour of Savannah!
The narrators dressed up from the era and told us interesting facts and stories. Very entertaining and educational.
We had a large group who took the Grave Encounters with Telfair Academy tour. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the format and presentation. The intro to the tour felt like it was off to a good start, but It did not keep up the same feel for the duration. Our guide, Louisa, while very sweet was not a great story teller which is really the most important thing to have since you are just riding around on a trolley. When we did finally get off the bus we were only allowed in Telfair Academy for a very limited amount of time; I was not able to read all of the signage on the artwork before being rushed back downstairs. If you re looking for a good scare and creepy story-telling, this tour isn t for you.
History, comfortable and exact buses with their routes, excellent information
Great place to start your vacation in historic Savannah! Lots of info on tours, restaurants, maps, etc.
Prepaid tickets from website, waiting 40 min. No explanation as to why the delay, you go to ask and be told another coming in 10 min, not!
Great way to see the city and get your bearings of where to go.
Great Tour and the tour guides are just awesome, they have lots of info and they are a great ambassador to the city of Savannah and the price is good.enjoy the tour we Did.
Donnie, our guide was too full of himself. Told us more than several times, not to talk amongst ourselves during our tour. Yet we had to listen to his whinning because it was becoming the end of the heavy tourist season and he needed film work to make it. Also, actors should have a microphone, so they could be heard better when they boarded the tour bus. Will use other tour options when we visit Savannah in the future.
A must!!! Best trolly tour in Savannah great actors and drivers
Great tour! Lots of info to take in. Forest Gump makes an appearance which was fun
We took two tours with this company while visiting historic district of Savannah today. The first tour was a historic journey during the day that was very informative and gives a good overview of the sprawling history of the city. We were able to get on and off the trolleys whenever we wanted and the drivers were fantastic. We also took the ghost tour at night to explore the Sorrell-Weed house, and this tour was kind of disappointing. Our driver and tour guide were once again totally awesome, but the tour itself leaves much to be desired as you can only explore a limited section of the property and you're only in the house for about 20 minutes. The rest of the tour is just riding around the city on a trolley and listening to ghost stories, which got sort of boring.
We were passing through and did the tour. Very pleased with tour. I forget the name of the guide but she was very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable of Savannah as she was from the area. The dressed actors did a great job role playing. It took approximately 90 minutes to do the entire 16 stop tour. If we had more time we would have done the hop on hop off option. A shuttle came to pick us up from our hotel to the tour starting point. I would recommend it if you have time to make use of the HOHO option.
The tour covered all the popular spots and the narration gave us a good background.
We hired Old Savannah Tours for transportation of our wedding party and family to and from our wedding. They were prompt to pick us up and the quality of their trolley was great. It was clean and comfortable and they accommodated our request for a closed window trolley since we had to drive on the highway to get to our wedding venue.
The drivers were great and David in the office was amazing to work with. He answered my numerous emails and supplied us with brochures and discount tour codes for all of our wedding guests!
We highly recommend them for transportation to/ from your wedding!
I was undecided between the hop on/hop off tour and the 3hr Savannah Experience tour. I only had one day and wanted to see as much of Savannah as I could so I chose the Savannah Experience tour.
So, here's my review of the 3 hr tour.
Good things:
Bus was more comfortable than the trolley and a lot less crowded.
You definitely got to see more around Savannah
Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable.
Neutral: The tour guide's voice, while interesting at first, started to wear on me as we passed through the 2-hour mark.
Bad: Even though I saw more, it left me wanting to do a bit more exploring. I did do some by talking back into town after the tour.
So, I give it a 3 out of 5. Glad I saw what I did and heard what I heard but, in the end, I think the on/off would have fit me better.
If I had to do it again, I would have taken the entire on/off tour and then used it to get around town, exploring a lot of the sites I had seen.
Buses take forever to come by. There competitors were driving by 3 to 1 easily. They do have actors at most of the stops to give you a history lesson but they are very amateur.
Amazing job. Love the actors, very convincing! They brought life (or death) to the city!
Wonderful experience. First rode the entire route with Chris...He was excellent and so witty! Loved the "historical" actors that we encountered..esp Forrest Gump and the young lady at the school. Next did the route as hop on and off. Each driver (had a total of 4) was knowledgeable and had different insights. Felt we get a good sense of the town. Worth the money!
If the weather is nice - this is totally worth it! Not much for tours, but even my kids enjoyed hearing the history of the city and seeing where it happened.
Had family in town and purchased the hop-on and hop-off package. Free parking was more than worth the price difference. Had Steven for our first time around the sixteen beautiful stops and he was well informed on all of the locations and you could tell he loved getting to show off the city. Having been to Savannah a few times I was shocked how much I hadn t seen and was impressed by the rich history. Ashley picked us up later and was quick-witted and fun to end our day with.
We are always happiest to support a locally owned and operated tour company showing off the city they love. They were a hit with my extended family for sure!
THIS IS THE TOUR COMPANY TO USE!! We cannot even say how amazing these folks are! We came into town from the airport, were in the city by the Cathedral and wanted to take the tour while we waited for our room to be ready. We met one of the buses and they sent a special shuttle to pick us up and take us to their Visitor Center where they held our luggage while we took the tour. It was a great tour!! Tons of great info, history and tips!! When it was all over we went to pick up our luggage. They had a shuttle drive us to the door of our lodging place. All those extras were at no cost and by the friendliest of people!!
This has been the best tour I have been too, I had the on and off tickets, the drives where super nice and one of the ladies was supper nice and explain everything so clearly and she was dress as a character which I loved. Forest was on of the best parts of this tour. I really enjoy it and made our trip awesome. The buses where also clean and comfortable.
My mom recently went on this tour and had a great time! As for me, the tour was very boring and had no interesting information. The tour guide would not stop talking about the same information through out the entire trolley ride. Views were great, tour guide sucked! Watch out for the "sparkle lady". Also, the tour guide was very rude and was constantly yelling at trolley riders! Very horrible customer service!!!
Great comprehensive introduction to the sights of the city, old and new. No stops to tour the places described - use the guides narration to assess places that you are interested in going back to see for a full tour. The tour is a full and very worthwhile three hours long.
Had some great food in this place. Would recommend to anyone
Took the boo tour tonight absolutely awesome. It was the comedy boo tour. Laughed the whole time. Very original I would highly recommend
Chris is THE BEST tour guide. We understand why the owner's momma loves him. Funny and informative. Libed the visits from the local time travelers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
This place has really great tours which might explain why it fills up so fast and I have to give a thanks to Kathleen, Jamie, and Tammy for driving us around it was really fun.
Historic Savannah is beautiful and rich with history, and our tour guide was able to convey all of that into our tour with a dash of humor as well. It was also quite affordable. I was pretty impressed at how well the guide was able to maneuver that big old trolley through the streets!
This was a great way to see the city s highlights and hear about the history behind the places. Our tour guide Scott was very knowledgeable and funny as well. Although it did rain during our tour we stayed dry in the trolly and still got to see the lovely town.
Komedy and the others were awesome tour guides. Recommend highly.
Love these hop on hop off tours. A great way to see a city.
We loved the tour and boat ride, it was a package deal! Guide's were friendly and knowledgeable, will definitely use them on our next visit!!!
Our tour guide was great. Best way to see most of Savannah on the quick.
Cool ghost tour. Has actors the whole way. The tour guide we had was Olivia ? But she definitely played her part very well. We didn t see anything really haunted. But we did get to hear some good ghost stories and explore some new places in the town. It s a good little tour.
Awesome tour by our friendly and engaging guide, Kathleen!! This wasn't our first tour through Savannah but it was our first with Old Savannah Tours and we'll be doing it again! Forest Gump, the drunken Pirate (something Shivers??), and the Cotton Factor were great characters that really got into their parts and pulled us in as well! Kathleen was hilarious and relatable while delivering some excellent (and different) historical facts about this wonderful city. She also shared some interesting current facts such as the story of the Resurrection Fern covering many of the Live Oaks due to recent rains. My Mom and I had a really great time and stayed on for the duration just to hear all that Kathleen had to share. I'm happy to rate this tour 5 stars!
Very much enjoyed this tour. The bus takes maybe 90 minutes to go around the town, we went around 1.5 times and had two different guides who were both really good. We also got to see the actors a second time, and they were quite funny :) It's a really good way to see the town in the summer heat!
Holly jolly on the trolly driver was AWESOME!! Great tour, very knowledgeable, lots of stops. So fun
Waited a long time at stops. Over 30 minutes at pirate house. Saw 6 green and orange. No white
Tour was very good. Waits were bad.
I was dropping off my mother and sister at the Savannah visitor center and began to back my car out. The driver for Old Savannah Tours 924 started backing the trolley in my path and told me I had to move. Which I could have moved if he waited for me to continue backing out of my space so I could exit the parking lot. I started backing first. He then began to show off in front of his passengers at my expense and became sarcastic. I said nothing but left as the butt of his jokes which I am sure continued down the road on his tour. Very embarrassing. I am glad I chose Oglethorpe tours for my sister and mother to take part in for the day. I hope their experience is s positive one and that their drivers are respectful of all visitors in Savannah
We had several drivers and they were all very knowledgeable and fun!
Big Scott was a very entertaining and informative tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour of Savannah. It gives a great overview of the city and its history. Well worth the time and expense.
Had a wonderful day learning about Savannah & seeing all the cool places. Driver guides Cindy and Big Scott were so knowledgeable. Each put their own personality into their presentation. Added bonus historical characters come on board. Everyone from the ticket lady at their office to the drivers were so friendly and set out to make your day the best day ever. Can't say enough good things about the tour. It's worth the $2 more to take this trolley instead of Old Town. Old Savannah is locally owned, not a national chain.
Without a doubt the best guided tour we have ever been on. The on and off package fits us to a tee. We rode the entire route then got off and ate lunch. After lunch got back on and off at stops we wanted to take pictures and walk around. Two of our drivers were awesome Clyde and Horizon and she was phenomenal to use her word.
My wife and I got the Hop On Hop Off Trolley tour for $29 per person. This is a best buy you also get a second day free with this tour. We had quite a few drivers and they were all very knowledgeable of the area. From time to time they also have characters that will get on to the trolley at a stop and give it a little bit of information and history for that stop. Characters include a pirate from the Pirate House, a wannabe confederate soldier, an abolitionist, a few other local historical figures and of course Forrest Gump. They have 16 stops for you to hop-on and hop-off. It is a great way to get around town.
Extremely knowledgeable tours conducted by folks with great personalities. I've been on three separate tours and they have been highlights of my visit to Savannah.
Worst experience ever. Trams do not run on a schedule. Over 45mins at one stop and tram still is not here.
Great tour. Guides we're very knowledgeable and the driver was great! Beautiful city!
The ghost tour with Sasha n Chuck was pretty cool, best ghost tour we've been to.
We had a great time! The driver was amazing and full of endless knowledge about Savannah. Also very friendly as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed the overview tour (90 minutes) . The driver was knowledgeable and personable - it was evident that he knew history and interesting tidbits about Savannah. Furthermore, he obviously liked sharing his knowledge because his delivery was on the spot. I recommend this tour.!
We went on their ghost tour which left much to be desired. The staff was nice enough; however, our guide was just plain not good. He lacked confidence, knowledge, and presence. I've had my share of Savannah ghost tours (both walking and riding tours) and I have to say this was by far the worst. I'm very disappointed to have spent over $80 for my visiting family to go on this trip... And to have this be their only experience with ghost tours in Savannah.
Went on the ghost tour & dinner at pirate s house. The dinner was great! Good food and good choices. The tour was just the same as the daytime/ hop on off - NOT a ghost tour! Nothing different or interesting! This is only a choice to see Savannah in the dark. Way too costly for what you get!
Great service by a locally owned business. The enactors are a great touch!! We really enjoyed the knowledgeable tour guides.
Peter was our tour guide today and he was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable about the history of Savannah and EXTREMELY funny and personable! Thanks for a GREAT tour Peter!!!!
Well organized and drivers give a lot of information.Enjoyed the city and food.
Great tour trolley. We chose to take the whole tour before getting on another trolley so we could stop at our points of interests. Ashley was a great, but all of the guides are good. And each guide gives a little different tour or tells a little different story (still hit all the same highlights). We're hoping to do the ghost tour later in our trip.
"Big E" is funny and engaging! He makes it enjoyable for the whole family!
Decent tour with hop on hop off option. enjoyed the tour
My wife and I took a chance on a tour. We were very happy and entertained. Big E did our tour and we loved him. He was very informative with history and had us laughing the whole time with his wicked sense of humor. We will do it again when we return
We enjoyed the city of Savannah very much in our recent girls trip. Our first guide Rick was very knowledgeable. However on our second hop on we had Tina as a guide. She was very rude to my friends and I and made us very uncomfortable, and somewhat ruined the experience. Had this not happened I would have given much higher marks.
Enjoyed the tour and our guide was very informative. I suggest doing the whole 90 minute loop first to hear all the information and then go back to any of the places that you find interesting. At several stops there were actors dressed in period costume that got on the bus with speaking parts pertaining to some part of Savannah history! Altogether a good and interesting tour!
If you're in Savannah, this is a must do for the day. Hop on hop off with 15 minute pickups at all of their stops. With so much to learn about the city, it gives you great information and let's you explore. Find the places you like the most and visit them!! Nelvis is the best guide in the business.
Great tour of Savannah with historical background & highlights.
Good introduction to the city. Definitely choose the on/off option because you'll want to explore the shops and squares. The tour guides we had were good. Only complaint is that parking can be tough.
Our tour was great! We loved Savannah! Our tour guide from Ohio was excellent. Can t wait to go back!
If you like history this is the tour for you. The tour is 3 hours in an air conditioned bus with one stop to get lunch. Our tour guide was excellent. He's been giving these tours for 28 years. There is so much history in Savannah. The old 17th and 18th century buildings are in great shape. The architecture is ornate and well preserved.
We took an evening ghost trolley tour that included dinner. It could have been great but we really couldn't hear the guide. When we could hear him, the stories weren't told in a way that was very captivating.
The dinner at the Pirate House was also not ideal. They put you at large tables with other people from the tour group in a separate dining area and have you choose from a set menu of 5 or so items. The food offered wasn't great. When we were walking through the main dining area the regular menu items looked awesome in comparison.
Overall, we were in good company with our friends and it filled our evening but it's definitely not the experience we expected. I think that booking separate tours of the haunted buildings would be a more interesting option.
Tour was nice until we got on trolley with Arthur. At the end as we were going back to the Welcome Center he makes the comment..."I promised to show you the best of Savannah so now be ready for the worst. Section 8 housing, if I tell you to duck, duck!" I grew up in an area similar to this one. I graduated college, our oldest daughter has two college degrees and my younger will have a PhD in pharmacology in a few months. Everyone deserves respect and not to be the put down to make someone else look better. If Arthur is your driver get off and wait for next trolley.
Great tour. We did the on and off, which I was would recommend because there are a bunch of sites you may want to go in during the tour. We went in the Cathedral and then jumped on a second bus. Both drivers were great. The first guy had us in stitches with his commentary. My mom got on the second bus and told the driver she hoped she d be as funny as the first driver (who was great) - she asked us what driver he had and we sadly couldn t remember and she said - well I m Tammy and I ll be funny enough you won t forget me ever! And we didn t. She was great and so funny and fun - and very informative. Highly recommend.
If you are going to Savannah plan to do a trolly tour on your first day this way you have an overview of all there is to do and then can pick other things you may want to visit based on what you see during the tour. Highly recommend the Prohibition Museum which can be done on one of the tours
The hop on hop off tour was great for getting around the city. Guides were entertaining and knowledgeable. Most of the tour buses are open air so they can get hot, but they did provide fans. Bonus from me for holding my suitcase while I was on the tour since the visitor's center no longer does it. Every employee I spoke with was genuinely pleasant and helpful, leaving a great impression of Savannah on this first time visitor.
Lot of stops and places to see, but driver/tour guide didn't do the job.as a driver was bad even vorst as a tour guide.not worked to spend and time.better walk around
The trolleys ran on time and the tour guides were great. Our favorite by far was Mr. Komedy he was funny as can be and knowledgeable.
I absolutely enjoyed the tour and the tour guide He was exceptional...
It was good. They had a lot of information about the history of some of the buildings
Fun little ride. Plenty to see and driver (Arthur) was knowledgeable and friendly.
Arthur.....our tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Great tour with added entertainment by the actors....highly recommend
We had a great time on the tour! We had Tammy (with a T) and Jamey. They give you great unscripted info well worth the cost.
Happy hour at the bar was a great idea. Dinner and service was above average. Good selection of local beers and always tequila.
