We got on right at 9. I was pretty disappointed the attractors weren t at anytime of the stops. Maybe they start later on. I think it s a little rushed and overpriced. The workers were great though.

My wife and I took the on/off tour on a beautiful Monday morning. We rode the trolley to the last stop in the Historic District but we wanted to eat lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant so we hopped off and walked back a few blocks since it was around noon. After lunch we walked to a couple of location we picked out along the way and did a couple house tours. We decided to walk to the nearest pickup and ride back to our car from there. Donny was our driver/guide on the morning trip and believe it or not when I saw him turn the corner to pick us up to take us home, I couldn't have been happier. We have only had Donny as a driver so I can not say how well any other driver could perform so they may be some that are as good but none better than Donny. That guy brought 200 years of history to a rolling history class. I cant say I have had a lot of experience riding tour busses, but Donny has got to be one of the best and OST is lucky to have him. Old Savanna Tours is a top notch company that runs a tight precision tour. From the minute we arrived, we were met with friendly and professional staff. The actors along the way were a bonus and made the tour even more fun. If you have 2 hours to spare, I highly recommend a tour.

The tour guide was great, the amount of knowledge our guide Dan shared was incredible. In a country that is already racially divided I would have enjoyed the tour more and would have given 5 stars had our tour not included a skit or educational moment about slavery or the NAACP.

Truly an awesome experience. Highly recommend Big E as your tour guide. I have been on several tours in many different cities and this experience blew my expectations out of the water. Highly recommend

Horrible experience. When we arrived to buy our tickets, their parking was full. Since parking at the welcome center wasn't guaranteed, we decided to park near stop #9 and start the tour there. We didn't get on the trolley until afternoon time. Our first driver and narrator was pretty good. We decided to get off at stop #13 to walk down river street and eat lunch. By the time we got back to the pick up spot we waited a good 20 minutes for a trolley that wasn't full. This was at about 4:30. We were expecting to be able to finish our tour and take the trolley from stop 13 all the way back around to stop 9 to see the rest of the sights. This was not the case. This trolley took us straight to the welcome center which isn't even where we were parked. This was a huge waste of money. I do not recommend.

Arthur, our trolley driver/tour host was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. He clearly enjoys what he does. The actors portraying historical events at stops were also entertaining and informative. Picking us up at our hotel was emblematic of their overall accomodating service throughout. Easy to understand why Old Savannah Tours has such a long run voted "Best Savannah Tour."

We had three different drivers all of which were good but the most memorable was James Ault , he was genuinely knowledgable and entertaining. He made the trip super fun and the review is for all four adults that rode with him. We all give ole savannah tours a five because of drivers and especially James Ault

I hate to say it, but we were disappointed. Disappointed enough to come here to leave a review in the hopes others will read it and choose the other trolley tour company instead. I've rode with both. The stops for Old Savannah are in the oddest places. The route doesn't pass most of the best sites. We had two different drivers, who gave two different speeches during the rides, and they were both boring droning. I don't mean personalities, I mean boring speeches. So much of what was said had nothing to do with what we were passing. No information was given about the stops and what can be accessed from them. The drivers weren't really interested in what they were doing. Basically bus drivers giving memorized speeches. Had I not been in a hurry with tired and hungry kids I would have asked for my money back. The other trolley company has great stops, fun drivers, silly jokes, useful information, and is just all around better. Sad we gave Old Savannah a try with our vacation money and hated it.

This was one of the best tours I've ever taken. My husband and I made a day trip from Charleston to Savannah while we were on our honeymoon, and we had a blast. Our guide was Kathleen and she did a wonderful job. She told us key information about the various stops, and was the perfect combination of funny, professional and sassy. My husband and I had a wonderful time. If you're ever in the Savannah area, I would highly recommend you go on one of their tours.

It was nice after we got off the trolly that Eric was driving. He was always asking us if anything was behind the trolly or if he was to close. It made the experience stressful. The other driver was very confident and we got to enjoy the tour

We really enjoyed the on/off your as we got to get out and explore. There were some great tour guides. Our favorite was Mr Komedy! He had great stories but kept my kids engaged with the humor. We were laughing the whole time. We also liked the actors who got on at stops to tell their stories. It brought it more to life and added a more personal element to a "history" tour. I'd rate 5 stars if it weren't for one rude driver. We couldn't find one bus stop and asked the trolley of we could get on where we were at. He said we had to keep going as they couldn't stop there-no problem. But then he told all the people on the trolley " don't be like those people folks". We were lost! Not trying to be jerks. Older guy, black hair, with a New York or northern accent- other than him we liked everything on the tour.

The trolley driver, Arthur, learned the names of all riders and interacted by name with each of us throughout the 90-minute tour of historic Savannah. Arthur was very knowledgeable and entertaining for the entire trolley your. The guest appearances of historical characters added to the experience.

Our tour guide Peter was awesome. He was funny and knowledgeable about the places and history of the city. I felt targeted by the lady at the station because she harassed me about my parking and then when I got on the trolly with my family, she came in there to ask me only for my ticket. She did not ask the rest of the people for theirs.

Unfortunately our experience was FAR from worth the cost we paid. The first driver we rode with for the day was very informative and fun, and the trolley was the proper open-air style, with no glass windows, so you could see and feel the city. We only had one of their "Living Legends" get on and talk to us during the tour, so I can't see how the company can brag about how great that feature is, if it is just one person at only one of the stops.

Later in the day, after lunch and some shopping down by the riverfront, our group loaded onto a second "trolley," and the driver was an older man with HORRENDOUS driving skills!!! He was VERY abrupt in his braking, and he would pump the brakes hard many times at EVERY stop sign, aggressively inching the bus forward, causing us to have very sore necks, which caused significant pain that truly ruined the rest of our visit in downtown Savannah for the day. Plus, this "trolley" had "air-conditioning", which actually just meant it was a stuffy closed-in bus, with loud fan motors on the ceiling, drowning out the sound of our frustration from being trapped in a funky smelling city bus that was disguised as a trolley. We were not allowed to open the windows, so we were stuck with bad views and no way to take decent pictures through the glass. We were afraid to get off and enjoy any of the rest of the stops, and hope to find another real trolley to ride, because we never saw any other of Old Savannah Tours' Trolleys out on route for the rest of the day. We did not want to be trapped downtown and have to walk miles back to our cars.

Throughout the day, we saw multiples of the orange and green Old Town Trolleys in just a short time... And all of those were open and airy, so their large groups of passengers could enjoy taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. We may have to go with that company next time, if we decide to ever ride with any of Savannah's trolley companies again.

Unfortunately, because of our spoiled experience by the second driver offering very little helpful information and having a bossy attitude, lacking much customer service skills, plus our INCREDIBLY sore whiplashed necks, we didn't feel up for enjoying anything else downtown for the rest of the day. I saw many neat stores and boutiques that I wanted to shop in, but due to how few of their trolleys were running, we were not willing to risk being stranded. We should have saved our money and just paid to park at the places we wanted to go see. This was such a waste of money and we are VERY disappointed in how much it cost just to get whiplash and a poor experience from basically overpriced public transportation.

Was very disappointed with this company. A man refused to wear his mask on the trolley and got kicked off I understand that is the rules. The tour guide kept bringing it up during the tour how angry she was that people do not want to wear mask and can t follow rules it got old really fast and ruined the tour.

The first gal down by the river had no clue how the tour worked and gave us all kind of bad info. BUT THEN .... we got on Big Easy s trolley and it that $25 became worth every penny... Just a fantastic . experience.. friendly, informative and fun! Do yourself a favor and try to get some time with him. Thanks Big Easy!!!

Worst tour I have ever been on. We were supposed to be on an air conditioned minibus instead we had the 3 + hours on a trolley with the hard benches. My back is still paying for it almost a week later. Never again will I tour with them.

Took our grandmother to visit Savannah for the first time and decided to go on the trolley so she didn't have to walk much. We all were pleasantly surprised with the information from our tour guide, Jamie. She was entertaining and we loved the living legacies stationed at the different stops.

Our first trip to Savannah from the west coast so we did the Overview tour with Miss Terri Love, and she was an utter delight. She is so very knowledgeable about the city she loves and it is obvious that she loves what she does. The characters who boarded the trolley at various stops were a nice addition, although no one could understand a thing the "pirate" said, except "rum." Try to get Terri Love if you go on the Old Savannah Tours.

This part of our trip to Savannah was so much fun! We got the Hop on/ Hop off tour which allowed us an all day advantage of getting off and on at the 16 different locations which made it very convenient. We had a number of different drivers since we got on and off throughout the day and each one was full of character! They all made such a great effort into really explaining the city! We also saw parts of Savannah we didn t know about, making this a trip well worth it!

Tour guide did a great history on sights shown. Tour went smoothly from stop to stop and the actors at each stop did great. Tour bus and 90 minutes Riverboat tour were worth what I paid for them.

The tour guides and the performers at the stops were great but I only gave this tour 2 stars for several reasons. Most of the information given on the tour I already knew from researching the area before I went to Savannah. Also, most stops have plaques giving the history of the site. The tickets are overpriced and 15 to 20 minutes between the next pick up is a long time to wait. If you want to make use of the entire day and wait for the 5 o'clock bus at the end of the day to get back to your car you won't be getting anywhere soon and you will experience a lot of frustration. The buses are packed. You can get a free map of Savannah from the visitor center with all the points of interest clearly marked. If you are planning ahead, give the visitor center a call and they will mail it to you at no charge along with other great info. Savannah is easy to walk and also offers two bus routes that are free to use for tourists. Go explore on your own. You'll see more, learn more and have a much more relaxed and enjoyable experience.

It was easy to go and get back on the ride. We had Jamie (I apologize if its not spelt right.) She was really funny and said y'all more times then I can count. She also complained about traffic which was funny cause it was so relatable. We do wish they would have said the best places to shop, stop 10 and 13 are the shoping ones.

We did the 745pm ghost tour. Our driver and tour guide was great! She was a fantastic story teller, very animated. We loved how they would stop and bring characters on board to help tell the stories. Lots of great information and stories about the past.

Very informative tours. Can hop on and off at any time during the day. Good value for the money and gives the tourist the freedom to cater their visit to their needs. Recommend them.

Took at ride with my wife yesterday with tour guide Peter Cooley. Peter was funny, and informative and really gave us a great sense of the history of Savannah. We had spent a few days prior to the tour going to the parks and reading the plaques and such and the tour brought it to the next level. If you really want a tour from the historical aspect Pete is your guide!

We booked our tours with the concierge of our hotel ... on Saturday September 21 we were so excited to see the whole city with the on and off tour before we left on Sunday . Well that didn t happen, so many trolleys cane already filled so we along with others had to wait only for them to be filled again or were private party trolleys. We were told there were 15 weddings in Savannah that day ( which is beautiful ) so many of them were rented for private parties . I wish I knew before I spent that money since I did more walking then hopping on and off . I sent them an e mail regarding these concerns but I have not heard from them as of yet . The drivers when we had them were great !!! We met people in the other trolleys tour company said they had no problem with their company on that day ... so I suggest you ask your hotel concierge if they can find out if trolleys are going to be scare on your day . Trolleys were clean and great drivers very friendly.

Great tour. As most recommend, it's best to take the tour all the way to the end at least once them hop off at the stop you need. Our tour guide Arthur was attentive, friendly, and very well informed. The actors who hop on at various intervals (four on ours) were a unique difference and fun. They also will pick you up from your hotel if you are within the historic district which is a huge plus. Overall would recommend them although only if you have not taken a tour before of savannah.

We took the overview tour on Sunday July 3rd, around 1:45 and it was HOT. The tour guide was informative and knowledgeable of the Savannah history and hummers in telling stories, and the tour was FUN. The weather, however, was really HOT and humidity was high. If you are taking this tour, bring lots of COLD water and handkerchief to enjoy it. Lasted around 90 minutes, including traffic jam and such. Few historic characters came on board to explain a little something about Savannah culture. By the time the tour finished I bought cold water and drank about 1 liter of it in about one or two minutes, man I was thirsty. Overall it was great experience and we enjoyed it with our tour guide, feel free to take this tour as well, just bring water and handkerchief to wipe your sweat, did I say it was HOT. Thank you.

I surprised my husband with a weekend Birthday getaway to Savannah. The tour by Old Savannah Tour was great. We purchased the on/off option, which was great. We were able to take the tour, then get off and sight see. One of the great perks was the tour company picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel.

Old Savannah Tours provides the most the authentic, reliable, and informative trolley tour in Savannah! Their dedication to customer service is shown through the enthusiasm of the drivers and the attention to detail they show when navigating through the area. Old Savannah Tours is a staple to the city and allows you to experience the area like a true Savannian. As the only local tour-it is always my first choice.

Such a good, historical overview of beautiful Savannah. The drivers are dynamic, full of information & humorous. Stopping at each site to allow boarders to get off & explore the area is important w another trolley coming around every 20 min or so.

They were my most favorite choice for wedding transportation! The beautiful white trolleys are such a staple to my memories of Savannah, I had to have them as part of my wedding day. The trolleys are cute, clean and air conditioned! Our driver was incredibly courteous and had us all laughing. Service excellent, staff excellent, my guests really enjoyed this piece of our wedding day and we are so thankful for them!

Review of Historic Hop-On and Hop-Off Trolley Tour of Savannah

Visiting Savannah for the day, and we spoke to Kelly on the phone several times, and boy did she steer us right!! She directed us exactly to the bus stop where we were picked up in front of the Bohemian Hotel within 10 minutes by a shuttle that took us to the starting trolley. (Wish there was a bench there). We boarded our trolley and were so fortunate to have Joaquina driving and Gertrude, in full Southern Belle dress, narrating our tour. Gertrude was fabulous, as if telling us secrets and gossiping about Savannah history, such fun. They drove us around the Squares of Savannah, the waterfront, the Mercer House, Telfair House, Church where MLK gave his first "I have a dream" speech, and lots of others. Three characters in costume boarded the bus to tell us stories, including Forrest Gump. I wish the trolley had paused longer for better pics, but it really was a fun experience!

I had an amazing experience at old Savannah tours our guide Mike Gardner was very informative. He knows best places to eat, shop, and will suggest museums. Easy to follow maps and places to visit are shown as well. You can go out at every stop or explore everything within the bus tour.

Terrible experience with the tour guide, Donny. We had vouchers that we printed online and showed them to him, he misread them and told us that we were on another tour company and gave us a real rude Bye-Bye and made us feel like we had done something wrong. We then found the other tour company and the driver of that trolley was extremely nice and let us on with the vouchers. We then went to the stop where you trade in vouchers to get the real tickets and stickers to wear so that you can get on and off the trolley. They said that we were on the wrong company and showed us that we had vouchers with Old Savannah Tours. We then walked over to where they we trading in vouchers for tickets and we did and then got on the trolley that was there at the moment and who di you think was there, Donny the same driver who made us feel like dirt about 45 minutes earlier. He had some smart thing to say as we boarded like we are still on the wrong trolley and then we showed him the voucher and new tickets which on the back said Old Savannah Tours. He then tried to blame me because we said that it said the other tour company on the voucher which it didn't. He looked embarrassed because he made a real idiot out of himself. No apologies at all for all the confusion and the rude way he treated us twice. We thought about getting on the next trolley but time was running short and we decided to stay on that one. He then got very political on the tour which we didn't like at all. Didn't take a tour of Savannah to get a political lecture so we got off at the first stop and walked the rest of the way
Old Savannah tours might be a good company just don't let Donny drive you around.

This tour is pretty cool. It s the only riding tour that you can do the on/off option, also the only one that has characters get on the bus. Arthur, our driver, was awesome, funny, and knowledgeable. There is a lot of history and a lot you probably wouldn t know if you didn t take the tour.

Great tour guides, lots to see and learn, just sorry I couldn't tour the First African Baptist Church. Tip: get the on/off tour, you can look around at your own pace and tour at least twice to get new perspectives from different tour guides.

My fiancee and I did the ghost tour where you ride around in a trolley and hear stories about famous haunts, but also get to tour the rum cellar of the Pirate's House and the Sorrell-Weed House. The tickets were $37 and there are mostly positive reviews for this company, so we were expecting a good time. Our tour was supposed to start at 8:00 pm and since we weren't staying at a hotel downtown, the person who made our reservations told us to meet at the Visitor's Center on Martin Luther King at 7:45 pm. We arrived at the Visitor's Center on time, and even received a call from someone at the company to confirm our meeting place. He said he would be there within a few minutes. We waited for 25 minutes and no one showed up, so my fiancee called the company to ask where our trolley was. We were informed that we missed it, but we were confused as to how that was possible when we were standing where we were supposed to be for almost half an hour and no trolley came. We were then told to walk across the street to the actual Old Savannah Tours building. We were accommodated by being fit on to the 9 pm tour, which was fine but rather inconvenient seeing as we were tired and the tour is over 2 hours long. Plus we were irritated at being told the incorrect meeting place, even after confirming the location twice. This left a bad taste in our mouths, and my fiancee did not enjoy the tour. Our tour guide Tammy was great though. She was fun and lively and wanted to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves. The actual tour left something to be desired. Only a few haunted spots were pointed out on the ride and the stories were lacking. The rum cellar at the Pirate's House was cool, and the Sorrell-Weed House was creepy, but both of these places weren't spectacular. Also, you only get to visit 2 rooms in the Sorrell-Weed House and we were expecting a little more. I don't think $37 per ticket is a good value for this tour as it left much to be desired and the company's customer service is lackluster. Save yourself some money and take the hearse tour, which is much more informative, creepier and a lot of fun.

We enjoyed our tour (adult, four kids of various ages) and had the hop on/hop off...best deal in my opinion. We went through the city twice; three guides. Really appreciated the maps and fans; wish they would install ceiling fans or something that distributes more cool air when it is so hot.
Good way to see the hi lites in the city.
Tour guides need to be mindful of their mixed age audiences when telling stories.

We took both the on off day tour and the ghost tour. Everyone we interacted with from both tours were friendly and helpful. It was great that they didn't take themselves too seriously and were always joking with everyone as well as sharing good info about the city.
