Charming little book store. Full of spirit and character. Used section and New section both full of staff reccomendations and amazing. One of the best bookshops I've been to in a while, honestly, and I've been to quite a few.

Always up-to-date selection of new books, constantly rearranged. Well-stocked with the usual classification, with a healthy dose of signed books. There is an exceptional selection of signed young adult books as well. Helpful staff recommendations are sprinkled throughout. The used books are "curated" into interesting categories.

Hard to believe Flyleaf Books has only been around four years because they feel like they've been part of the Chapel Hill community for decades, like a trusty friend you turn to for advice. In their case the advice comes in the form of books for kids, for adults and for cooks (they host a monthly meeting of CHOP NC, Culinary Historians of the Piedmont, as well as cookbook authors when they come to visit the Triangle on book tours). The L-shaped store shelves are lined with books covering every imaginable genre but don't walk past the display tables that feature staff picks because that's where you'll find the real gems. If you're a book lover, you should really consider the store membership (a lifetime membership for a one time fee, good for everyone in your household) to get discounts and invites to special member-only sales.

The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. There are employee book reviews all over the place, which are super fun to read! They don't hassle you to hurry up, and their displays are neat and rather plentiful! They host a variety of events in the back, too. They are also willing to order anything that you may need, and help you figure out what that may be, too. I just love spending time there after work to destress !

What an incredible bookstore!! Stopped by on the recommendation of a friend, and can t get enough. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the selection is really varied and wonderful, and the space is really inviting. What a gem!

Knowledgeable, helpful staff. A surprisingly large number of books. I particularly appreciate the way they highlight certain books and categories of books. Good selection of books by local authors.

Exceptional independent bookstore that makes its meeting room available to diverse groups for open dialogue. Its calendar features events for a wide range of tastes and interests; I am a member of a group, Culinary Historians of Piedmont NC, that meets there on the third Wednesday of each month. Owner Jamie Fiocco and her staff excel at making recommendations for personal reading and for purchasing books sure to appeal to friends and colleagues - including titles autographed by visiting authors. Be sure to check the back room for great deals on used books.

This is a terrific book store. The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is great. Chairs are placed around so that one can sit and read. They also have a large selection of used books.

A premiere, independent book store. They host author events (Lee Smith, Peter Mckuk), and once a month feature poets reading before an enthusiastic audience, followed by an open mic. This is a great place to browse, make friends, and learn. They have a wonderful staff at the counter.

Whoa! Rocking customer service! I bought some cute bags as gifts and mentioned the next daunting task of finding packaging to mail them. The clerk offered to give me some from their back room. Plus blank labels to write the addresses. I can't tell you how much that helps me! With two small kids and two jobs, I'm lucky if people get Christmas gifts by February. Thank you so much! You really went the extra mile for me.

This is a great bookstore that has a very unique collection of books and it is very well curated. Many books have comments recommending them to the buyer. There are also book signings and sometimes presentations by the authors. If you are a member of their club, you also get a 10% discount on purchases.

Incredible local bookstore. The owners are some of the best people around, organizing community events and bringing great authors to the area. The staff is passionate about books and can give you some excellent recommendations. There are so many great books to choose from here!

A wonderful bookshop. There are bookmarks in many of the books where customers/employees give their review of the book. There is a large room full of used books, and the side of the workshop space is full of youth books. Several comfy chairs are arranged throughout the store. The employees are friendly, and it's a very inviting atmosphere.

Being a very picky person aggravates even myself sometimes. These guys at Flyleaf Books hit all the right buttons in just the right ways. Greet you with a smile and are very accommodating. The store seems larger than it actually is. But the space is well planned out. A book club that I belong too met here. There were 16 of us, plus we had Pizza brought in. We had everything we needed and the gathering was a success. The room we occupied, you couldn't guess we were in a book store. The acoustics are fantastic and the noise level is low. The store accommodates a number of community and youth events. If your looking for something to read, this is the place.

I have ordered books twice during the last few months. Once was a gift that was shipped to Maryland the second was for pick up here in Chapel Hill. Both times the orders were processed quickly and email updates on status were timely. Thank you!!!

Wonderful bookstore. They have new and used books on any subject and latest fiction, rare books as well. Helpful staff! Check their events calendar for talks from authors and poetry readings. Highly recommend.

If I m looking for that special gift, I ve been known to describe a friend s interest and have received recommendations that have yet to disappoint.

There s also a steady stream of author and educational events, so be savvy and keep an eye on their website or like the Flyleaf Facebook page so you don t miss out on that perfect event.

Located next to Foster s market on Martin Luther King Blvd, I tend to include both establishments on my new to the area buyer tours. I like to pit stop for a cup of coffee or snack at Foster s, and then show off Flyleaf. The typical response is, Wow, we didn t know places like this still existed. This is a cool town.

I smile

This place is a treasure trove for books. I love coming here without any plans or expectations of what I want to buy. It s nice to explore the store and peruse the staff picks. The staff clearly have a fond love of books and write brief recommendations for many of the books on display which helps me decide which book is best for me. I always leave with a new book that I never expected to purchase but am excited to read.

Flyleaf Books is more than a bookstore, it is a community. Jamie and her staff go the extra mile to serve the public and make it clear that Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, and other giant competitors have nothing on them. They are often right in the right price zone, but in addition, they have staff that actually read the books they sell and can help you find just the right book. They are a joy to work with a beacon of civilization in the area.

The perfect bookstore. In all my travels, one of if not the very best. Jamie and the staff are wonderful. A local, regional and state treasure. Flyleaf demonstrates the positive community influence of the independent bookstore.

Flyleaf Books is a beacon in the night for book lovers. In the age of mega-box bookstores filled with as many toys and tote bags as titles, Flyleaf offers a book buying experience that is both refreshing and worth pursuing. Located on multiple bus lines, you'll have no reason not to visit this Chapel Hill gem.

The staff is composed of impassioned book sellers who do what they love. The shop itself is warm and beautiful.

Flyleaf often hosts wonderful readings and events so don't wander too far lest you miss a great time.

As an old timer in Chapel Hill I miss the INTIMATE BOOK SHOP -which closed many years ago - We are very fortunate to have the Independent FLYLEAF BOOKS in our midst - no parking problem, wonderful events and book signings, prominent local and NYTimes best sellers, with the Root Cellar (formerly Fosters) next door--- many fun events for young and old(er) alike! A+

Dishonest buyer

Dishonest buyer

A staff member bought a few SF books from me including an old copy of The Stars My Destination. They denied the rest of my mass market paperbacks that were of similar quality. When pressed why they picked it out I was told "they just liked that book". I looked it up after I left and the book is worth ~$50! They gave me $5 for the lot...

Keep in mind most any bookstore will try to swindle ya out of your rares. Know what you have before presenting books to them. Learn from me. It feels quite bad being taken advantage of.

Otherwise the store is fine. Good staff picks, decent used section.
