Rough around the edges. The property is beautiful ...

Rough around the edges. The property is beautiful but the service is very inconsistent. We arrived and they moved our room closer as my wife was pregnant, this was a great start.

The next day however we booked a spa session 12-2 and asked if we needed reservations for the attached cafe after and we're told it wasn't a problem. We arrived at 2:05 and were turned away as they stopped seating at 2. We are told the only other place that served food was a pub with greasy food, we later found out that they have pool side food all day. Get back to the room at 3pm - having left at 10am - and it was not cleaned, we called and they explained that they combine cleaning and turn down service and we had to specially request the room be cleaned in the morning. Odd.

We booked an art class that next day at 10am that they never followed up with the promised info on where it was held. We booked in room breakfast for 8:30-9 and it didn't arrive till 9:30 which rushed us for the class (which was inexplicably billed at 5$ more than listed).

Reaturaunt service was very hit or miss overall. There were a fair amount of fire pits and seating but these were always full of people, possibly because the resort seemed to be a popular day trip which resulted in crowds larger than the resort could comfortably accommodate.

The kicker came as we got our car out of valet to leave. We stood there for five minutes with many valets running around but none who would meet our gaze or take our ticket. Finally we went to the check in desk and asked them to take care of it. Our car pulls up and they park it in the parking lot, a fair distance from the valet area. After it sat there for five minutes they came over: "Mr. Stadmeyer? Your car is over here please follow me." Leaving me and my pregnant wife to carry our bags ourselves.

No explanation as to why they couldn't pull it around or have someone come help with our bags.

Not up to expectatioms for a place that ended up being close to 1k a night with food and minimal alcohol included. Seems to be catering to day tripping golfers and families instead of the overnight guests.

We enjoyed ourselves in spite of the resort and not because of it, which is why we booked in the first place.

Pros:

Pros:
The property is stunning, absolutely beautiful. The staff could not be more friendly, they really go out of their way to be helpful and address you by name. I loved the decor, and the room was spacious with nice furnishings. The spa was fantastic.

Cons:
The rooms are off of an open air hallway, the floors are concrete and tile and the entry way to the room is the same. All night long you can hear anything and I do mean anything that is happening. The property is large so the staff drives around in golf carts - you will hear it. Other guests coming and going late night and early am - you will hear them. Property maintenance- you will hear them.

We were really excited to use the deep soaking tub late night with the bath salts and candles...the tub did not hold water.

I had to jimmy the door to lock it and my wife was unable to unlock it in the morning.

They put an iPad in the room next to the bed and it lit up at night like a TV...I had to cover it with towels.

We were really excited about the fine dining restaurant as we had heard so much about it. The food was delicious, but we almost left early skipping the last courses as there was another party in a neighboring room that were literally yelling and screaming like a sporting event was going on. We asked about it and we were told yes they are loud...and it s not usually like this.

We ve been driving down the California coast and this was a splurge to stay here for a night. I m not sure I ended up getting the value I had hoped for. That being said it is a great property and many of my concerns were probably isolated events.

UPDATE- the manager called us and wanted to hear our concerns. She was very genuine and considerate and I felt confident she was taking our issues at heart. She offered to take care of dinner and improve our stay if we could come back. This is the service I was expecting and have changed my review to 5 stars now.

Stayed in a vista suite here. The view was of the golf range, but it was still a pretty nice view. We initially got a room next to elevator and could hear it being used each time, but we called and got a new room with no hassle. The service here is very good, the staff super friendly.

Luxurious sightes fill with oak trees ..the view to the golf course or nature scenery is refreshing and so romantic . Bedrooms are large and very clean, nice spa, masage etc there .Prices are high , but we get what we pay for.

The check in process was hassle free.
They drove us around and gave us a tour before.
The customer service was impeccable.
Everything we asked for they took care of.
The hotel is known for it's lavender products and scents.
All the toiletries were lavender scented.
They were amazing.
We wen to the spa all day and it was amazing!
They have a lavender infused Steam room!
The massage treatments were wonderful.
The pools were great.
We also got drinks at the Ojai Jimmie's Pub and the signature cocktails were great.! Fresh and quality ingredients.
The hotel also was happy to load our bags into our car and have it pulled up and ready for when we wanted to leave.

Beautiful resort! Our family with two teenage boys had a great time visiting Ojai Valley Inn. We loved all the activities and enjoyed renting bikes, playing tennis, the driving range, the swimming pools and the fitness center. The food options were wonderful, and every member of the staff we interacted with was very friendly and very helpful. We look forward to visiting again.

Of all the beautiful hotels and resorts I've had the privilege to stay at (in America) Ojai Valley Inn is the most comfortable...the sumptuous room was like a separate cottage ...the views and grounds were impeccable...
the pools were the right temperature..
the spa had every thing you could possibly want...dried fruit and nuts..water with orange slices..
If there is an issue the staff takes care of it in a compassionate way...the service was delightful...even the golfcart shuttle service was fun..
Thank you for some lovely memories..

Beautiful location, delightful bar with great drinks and cocktails, and a delicious restaurant menu, but a few downsides. Couldn't find heating/cooling controls for my room (216), no coffee facilities in room, no bar fridge and thus no chilled beverages, confusing layout and a fairly useless map, and my disabled friend had to wait 2 hours for somebody to come and lower her bed. While waiting, she also received seven phone calls asking "hi, do you still need your bed lowered?"

A wonderful property, amazing staff from the minute you call. Amy in reservations answered all my questions , helped plan a wonderful stay. Everyone from bell staff to Max at the front desk, housekeeping, Robert in the spa & restaurant staff. Everyone made us feel welcome and pampered.
Thank you all.. we will be back

Gorgeous hotel in a spectacular location, with very friendly and attentive service. However, it's a fancy, expensive hotel and as such has a tendency to nickel and dime you for various things. Still a lovely place.

Ojai Valley Inn is a beautiful, peaceful resort with the most helpful staff anywhere. Once you leave your craft you don't have top drive anywhere with a choice of restaurants and activities right there. They have vehicles beautiful ahead to hike and for girls a great course. The rooms are lovely though pricey. Can't walt to go back.

This is our yearly visit to the Ojai Valley Inn. This time, we were situated at the Casa Loma. The room was nice as usual so is the service. Everyone seems to be friendly and there is no complaint here.

I stayed there for 4 days and I was blown away. They have an amazing property with so much to do in an amazing town that's so interesting. They have really nice rooms as well and so many amenities and activities for the day. They even have complementary bike rentals (with some room rates) and you can even take them into the town. This is definitely something you need to see!

The golf course is beautiful and spacious. We drove up in the morning and felt like we had the course to ourselves. It wasn't until the cart lady met us on the 12 hole that we finally came across someone. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who likes a great quality golf outing.

Personally I would not spend that kind of money again. For the price of this place you can stay at a all inclusive somewhere else more exotic. The people were cool the food was 3 star. Actually boring.

I've visited many hotels in the U.S. and this is now my favorite hotel-resort-spa in the Country. They exceeded our expectations, from the moment we checked in to the time we left we were treated with high quality service, fantastic accommodations, rooms are very well appointed with extreme attention to design details, landscaping is just insanely perfect. Just be cautious when you visit as this place attracts a lot of families with kids during the holidays, good thing they have an adult-only pool and you don't really see the kids, but at night going to the restaurants it was a little overwhelming with so many kids jumping all over the place. Service is the best. Can't wait to go back there! Bravo!
