Whatever u do DO NOT get the tamale relleno.. It taste like rubber. Honestly if you could translate what Foot Locker smells like into a taste it would be that.... Also be prepared to get small plates... Not a huge issue... Just be prepared.

My favorite restaurant in Austin! The menu is always changing and they keep things exciting! Get the goat... always. The fish head is brilliant. Wine list is perfect. And they have a fantastic happy hour! Can t say enough great things about Odd Duck!

From beginning to end, the Odd Duck is a gem through and through. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by preceptive hosts ready to seat you for a gastronomic experience, fasten your seat belt - rather loosen your belt buckle, because you're going to want to make room to go through various items on the menu.

If given the opportunity the Feelin Good Inc. is a nice cocktail to begin your meal - hibiscus based drink which preps your pallet for what will be amazing entrees perfect for sharing. From the light and refreshing BBQ spiced butternut squash, the delicious green chile crab pimento with a subtle kick, to the scrumptious szechuan pepper glazed quail and also the decadent duck egg chocolate creme de pot for dessert. Every dish is delivered in a timely fashion and with a precision and respect for not only each ingredient, but also the farmers, vendors and farmer's markets who provide the wholesome locally sourced ingredients.

Killer drinks, dishes that will have you going back to bite after bite and a genuine welcoming atmosphere - doesn't get any better.

It can be pretty hard to get a table without reservations but if you do, the food is amazing and the service is great also, the waitress took time to show me what I could and couldn't eat from the menu based on intolerances. Definitely going back.

Great food, good cocktails and nice service. The imaginative take on Ceviche was my fave but with an ever changing menu it might be there when you are. Happy hour is my favorite way to experience this hip joint. That way you beat the crowds and the large price tag. As a born and bred austonian, this is a must have for anyone that I'm sharing the town with.

Love. Came to Odd Duck for dinner on a quick weekend trip to Austin. If it s your first time in Texas, skip ordering frito pie at the bbq joint and order the goat chili pasta here. Inventive and delightfully surprising dishes with local feel/ingredients.

Genuinely some of the best food I think I've ever had. I love how fresh everything tastes, my group and I got so many of the plates and honestly we didnt try anything we didnt think was amazing. And that's before even mentioning the amazing and original cocktials. I think our server's name was Jeffery and he took great care of us and offered some excellent suggestions of things to try. Dont know I could give this any less than 5 stars

Do not recommend for celiacs. The menu was very misleading. They had a gluten free menu full of cross contaminated items that are fried in the same fryer with gluten containing items. Celiacs are limited to just a couple items. The menu does not mark these items, though the waitstaff was able to designate the couple items I could eat, which I did appreciate. Do not come here imagining they will have sufficient options for you if celiac.

INCREDIBLE FOOD! I was saving this place for a special occasion and am pleased to say it did not disappoint! The drinks were very slow to come out, but that was the only negative part of the experience. The courses were perfectly timed and our waitress was lovely. 5 stars!

This horrible restaurant is discriminatory and the food does not stand up to the reputation. The bar staff practically kicked out my Mexican friend, and then were incredibly rude to me by association. Absolutely no respect for people.

I travel often for work around the US and HANDS DOWN this restaurant and its sister restaurants Barley Swine and Sour Duck are in my top 10 in the country.

But Odd Duck for the whole US is my favorite in the country. The plates are share size. The menu turns over often. The drink menu includes truly barrel aged cocktails. The ingredients are OBVIOUSLY of the highest quality when you try a dish. And the staff is ridiculously knowledgable! about the menu.

I truly feel like I am at - a very meticulous - friends house EVERY time and I have been coming for years. When they take a liking to you here they let you know it is very quickly apparent what a lost art scalable high end service is.

I wish I could go on about a particular dish, but like I said the menu turns over often. So, when you visit Odd Duck

Its for the experience. When I bring clients and friends into Austin it is ALWAYS a requirement that they visit this place!

Thanks Odd Duck! You are a shining example of what a high end restaurant that invests more in its quality of food, plating, and culture than just in putting on airs .

Do yourself a favor... Set a reservation right now... Like, right now!

My bf took me here for our 5-year anniversary and we had such an amazing experience. We sat at the bar and the bartender/waiter was exceptional! At the time the special was lamb neck and I still dream about it sooo good! the pretzel is simple but delicious. The turmeric drink (forgot the exact name) is such a delight. Cannot wait to go back!!

Every time I've been has been a fantastic experience. Creative & delicious food, staff that are passionate about the food & their service, and great drinks. One of my favorite places in Austin.

This was my first visit to Odd Duck. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were able to adapt their menu for my vegetarian diet. The food was really delicious including dessert. You definitely want to try the blackberry bread pudding cake. Unique menu and great chefs. The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

We had five small plates and two cocktails which ran us ~80 if I remember correctly. All the plates were creative and professionally prepared and plated. Some plates just worked better than others though. The ceviche we had with curry and sweet potato chips was exactly what you look for with a restaurant like Odd Duck, lots of distinct textures and flavors that work together. One the other end of the spectrum was the pork belly with the pecan glaze we had. Lots of heavy flavors that were lost and similar textures. Unfortunately it will be hard to tell what plates will work more than others because of the rotating menu.

What a fun, eclectic little restaurant! Have driven by it dozens of times, but finally got a table for my boyfriends birthday. The food is so delicious and the small portions give you room to try many different flavors in one sitting. The staff was all extremely educated, and genuinely excited to talk about great food and flavor! I definitely recommend going during happy hour because with all the yummy food, you can rack up quite a bill. But half off is always great!

We stopped by for drinks and stone crab claws prior to dinner. The host was welcoming, as the rest of the staff. The singer and piano player was nice. Great atmosphere. The Moscow mule was just average .

First time visiting and we'll definitely be back. Sat outside at the front patio which was dog friendly for our pup. The corn bread, salad and wagu burger were all amazing and we arrived at happy hour which had great drinks promos. In summary tasty food with very friendly efficient service which we'd love to experience again.

Love their commitment to their farmer suppliers. Very creative dishes. Some of them too creative and the outcome is sometimes not great ....like the meatloaf pizza and the mushroom-chorizo pretzel...

The food was OK. The best thing we had was the stuffed pretzel. We had the blue crab tostada (which was basically glorified tuna salad type on a tostada), butternut squash (not remarkable) and something with pork belly and black eyed peas (not a huge fan of the combination although the pork belly was very tender and delicious). I did have a great cocktail - draft watermelon Fresca. Our server was not exactly what I would typically expect at a restaurant claimed to be "upscale". He never asked how we were doing, how the food was and was not very warm or inviting at all. This would not have been a huge deal if we had been wowed by the food, which we were not. I did love the atmosphere and the host was very nice. However, since the food wasn't great I probably wouldn't go back.

Great food and fantastic service. I'm just not a huge fan of tapas style. I feel the food is overpriced for the amount you get. It's delicious, you just have to order a million things to actually get full.
If you don't mind that - then I reccomend it. The wait staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about the food.

Very interesting food. They make their bread in house and have good vegetarian(and I think vegan) options.
Our server was able to tell me what to steer clear of if I had allergies or intolerances. No guessing or having to double check either, which was nice.
The atmosphere was also quite nice. Quiet even though it's right on South Lamar across(catty-corner) from the Alamo Drafthouse.
Overall my husband and I enjoyed our food and drink(although the salt on his margarita was apparently not his favorite).
We will return and likely bring friends.

We have been trying to get in to Odd Duck since it opened, it was always crowded with a very long wait. We had almost decided to blow off eating there, until we made reservations online, that proved to be the the right choice. The service was excellent, from the hostess, to the expo, bartenders, to the wait staff. The food was really interesting and tasty. They made accommodations for my GF needs without compromising the exceptional flavor combinations. Meals are in the "tapas" tradition so one gets the chance to experience lots of flavors and visually intresting fare. I am pretty sure we had just about everything on the limited menu. From the ceviche to the pork chops, it was an refreshing culinary journey. Unfortunately we didn't have space for desert, but they looked excellent. I highly reccomend you give them a try.

I really liked the vibe and the interesting menu. The food runner was pretty awesome too. We tried everything on the brunch menu and it was very hit or miss.I will definitely go back for the goat chorizo and the ceviche but everything else was too salty to enjoy. I think somebody in the kitchen dumped a whole lot of salt in the food that day as everything was very salty. The cocktails on the other hand were pretty fantastic

Nothing here is one-note. Every dish that I and my friends had when we went was deep, complex, and delicious. With everything we tried, there were multiple flavors that mixed, building up to a much better whole, even when on paper it looks like they'd clash. Some of the best things here are a little on the pricier side, but it ends up being well worth it.

Odd Duck definitely deserves its place as one of the best brunches in Austin

Great service and even more amazing food. The food is farm to table and aside coming from local sources, has great flavor and the dishes are most of all, unique. The menu changes every week but no matter what, you re gonna get something good.

The drinks are a welcome addition to a yummy meal. Mimosas are the classic but the cocktails are quite yummy too.

Fantastic dining experience with inspired dishes. Although more on the expensive side, everything was delicious and be prepared to order many dishes as this is tapas style. Menu also gets updated occasionally so be sure to come back every month or so to try something new!

Best meal ever! Small plates made for sharing. The dishes were outstanding, always offering a taste above what is expected. Service was spectacular. Zac offered recommendations, which were spot on every time. I will definitely return.

I almost passed on this place, once we were seated and I had a chance to look at the menu; it was tiny (maybe 15 simple, non extraordinary entree & appetizer selections, combined)... Buuut we were really hungry and I figured, 'why not gamble and give it a shot?' We ordered zucchini queso and pretzels for the kids, and redfish ceviche, gaspacho & a tomato salad for an appetizer for the adults. For lunch, burgers, fish tacos and a grilled cheese sandwich were what we settled on. Looking at the prices for these seemingly unimpressive entrees, I thought it pricey, and almost pretentious... But hooooly cow!! Absolutely AMAZING!! Everything is made in house and locally sourced. EVERYTHING... even the tea and condiments for the burgers! It would take me an hour to describe the foodgasmic experience of each appetizer and entree, so I'll just have to cut it short-ish and cop out by saying, 'Try it out for yourself... You can thank me later!'

Food was tasty, but way over priced for tiny portions . Our server was okay but clearly knew she planned to grat us (party of 6) and acted accordingly (as in didn't care about us). Overall it was just too pretentious for me. I am glad I gave it a try but would not go back.

Amazing spot for lunch. The pretzel and burger are not to be missed. Excellent service and high quality food will bring us back for dinner! Also giving bonus points for the parking lot. Makes it an easy stop for lunch.
