Outstanding. Great food, small plates. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
They do some things well but always add in a few ingredients too many. No need to add vegetables to chicken and waffles! I spent a lot and was left hungry after the meal. Still, fun place to try new dishes if you're in the mood to try something new.
Delectable, plates are delightful and bold. Good flavors. Im actually impressed with their kitchen set up. Good crowd.
This place is pretentious and over-the-top which is a turn off. Everything has to be a caviar, chutney, sous vide, spherification, curried slaw artichokes with an aioled caviar with sous vide pecan curried zaa'tar exoctic arabian hummus.
That being said the food is damn good, service is excellent, and the ambiance is nice.
Great service, fresh ingredients, robust flavors, and awesome wine!
Disenchanted with this place at this point. Portions are just too meager, regardless of the high price. Dishes over all feel like they've lost uniqueness. Drinks and service are still stellar, but unless you're on a date / special occasion that justifies the cost I would look elsewhere. It's no wonder why you only see Maseratis and the like parking there now.
Tried most of the menu and everything was excellent. Good to have a reservation if you want to come here.
Had about give dishes. Only one stood out. A bit underwhelming overall.
I went there for lunch, it was alright. I had the fried fish sandwich, the soup and the house roll and they weren't memorable.
I'll give it a second chance for brunch sometime.
This place has the best food, ever...
The squid and pork belly texas tom yum, was devine. Everything on the menu is Fantastic.
Excellent waitstaff, the atmosphere is memorable and i will be back
Odd in this case is very very good - Most unusual combinations of the things we know and some we have heard of but probably never imagined ordering let alone eating. High quality seasonal favorites in preparations and pairings that make deciding on what to order difficult so it's a good thing there are many small plates to share and compare. Brunch is sublime here and a must in Austin as the staff is in full swing yet not too occupied to share a bit of themselves with you. Delightful outside seating and an active bar scene / happy hour makes for a busy location so reservations are a must and to be looked forward too.
Great small plates! Fun and lively atmosphere with a great bar. Definitely worth the wait if you don t have a reservation. Pricey but delicious!
Very good place. They have a great happy hour with good prices on drinks and food. I've been for lunch, happy hour and dinner and all are good. They have good plates to share for dinner and individual plates at lunch. The ceviche is good and also the red fish tacos and goat enchiladas. The bar also serves food and they have a nice outdoor area to sit as well. Recommend reservations though.
Amazing food and wonderful servers who make you feel at home!! I will forever love this place
Draft paloma was amazing, beet salad, nachos and beet sherbet desert was fab.
I love this place! Such a fun vibe and I love the amount of unique small plates to share with others.
I had the baked eggplant, ducj egg, cavatelli pasta, and chilled melon, all of which were amazing, in that order.
Delicious food. The service was slightly slower than desired towards the end of our meal.
I don't come here often but need to start coming more often. Service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious.
Good food, though the menu is quite short. Burger had great flavor but big chunks of chard on top and meat in the patty. Service was good at the start but kind of disappeared once we received our food.
The good here is amazing. And they easily accommodated our group of 10.
Amazing farm to table menu with original and creative items. And the Odd Duck supports many local farms. Excellent service, fun atmosphere. A new Austin favorite for us
I had never tried the trailer but heard wonderful things about it. I love the atmosphere, it's simple and modern, nothing flashy. I like that the kitchen is basically exposed. It sits in the center of the restaurant with a big square bar. I love to sit at the bar and watch the cooks and bartenders work. The food is awesome. I can't even explain how the flavors work so well together. They have some very good cocktails, too. Considering it's the same owners as Barley Swine, you can't be disappointed/
Flavors were simply amazing! Decor was definitely eclectic too different plateware for each place setting, different chairs at every table. Very cool place.
Works for us. Have not had enough. Probably won t in the foreseeable future. 5 star concept, service, food prep, product, delivery, and ambiance food, drink, atmosphere all works. And, they held back some of my favorite barrel aged drink for us who knew they actually read the reviews ?! Tried them every which way on all accounts, and mediocrity, much less failure, are not in the vocabulary. Get your smile eraser appointment in advance. It will take a while to restore any semblance of an expressionless face, Austin traffic notwithstanding. Bring your pocketbook, but be prepared to lose your mind and give a flying flip what the damage is. Not my first time, and can vouch for the result introduced probably double digit folks to this tortuously resplendent exercise in gustatory delight, and never found a naysayer. Flip me over, I m almost done! I m out. I m happy. Good night. (smiling, disturbingly, possibly, to some, all the rest of the evening)
Great atmosphere. Love that they offer smaller plates so that you and your friends can try a little of everything. Our server was so helpful and knowledgeable about each dish. Make sure you make a reservation this place fills so fast. The words out. Plus free valet!!
Asked the hostess and was reassured, the following are the move. Get the ceviche and pimento for apps. Texas Tom yum, duck egg and quail are the best entrees. Cobbler best dessert.
So great! Cornbread, Smoked Fish Pimento, Capellini Pasta, Wagyu Burger... all amazing. Can t wait to go back. 1/2 off bottles of wine during happy hour.
Love super tasty small plates that are straight farm-to-table? This is the place. Great happy hour specials, solid cocktails. I love the open kitchen design, and the staff are great.
Went there for Valentine's. Goos food, but they might've tried a bit too hard.
Food was not good. What is everyone so excited about here? Now drinks were great, Absolutely loved the drinks.
Everything we had was really good. If they have carrots on the menu always order that dish!!!
Food was amazing. I have not stopped craving the mac and cheese! Entire experience was wonderful
Ordered pork belly, tator tots, pretzel, and chicken and pancakes. Fresh ingredients, and the flavor really comes out. The spices in the meat used had a good hear where it wasn't going to make your mouth on fire. The smoked chicken with the pancakes was a great blend and done tastefully mixed in with pecan. Pork belly was grilled after a long preparation in smoking it. The tator tots were cubed and the poached egg was a great idea to dip together. Must come back to try other items on the Sunday brunch menu.
Wow. This restaurant was absolutely amazing. The food was unbelievably delicious and the servers are super welcoming and attentive. This place is a must go when in Austin.
They did not disappoint. The transition from truck to brick is great. I know it was a few years ago. It took us awhile to get back. The ever changing and local menu is well thought out and presented. Ask about off menu items. They test or keep somethings not listed. So tasty!
From the service to the food everything was outstanding. Our server Jeff was attentive, knowledgeable of the dishes, and personable throughout our dining experience. And oh my gosh was the food good. These are great portion tapas sized dishes with complex, interesting, and standout flavor. My date and I couldn't pick our favorite dish because it was far too hard; every bite was an experience. Cocktails are great too. Overall best Austin restaurant I've tried, and perhaps best restaurant ever I've tried!
Fantastic food with unique and creative ingredients. Classy atmosphere. Attentive service. Reasonable price. Extensive drink menu. Rotating menu. Superlative date location. Go and enjoy.
Go for Happy hour! The wine selection is spot-on, the vibe is always enjoyable. The civiche is a favorite
Gentrified tapas is the best way I can describe this place. They have some really yummy menu items, but they re in smaller portions (which they tell you at the beginning.) A little pricey, but great food with a view.
Not impressed with anything but the drinks. I love the philosophy - nothing they can t make in house and partner with local gardens and farms. But the only thing that impressed any of us was the salad and carrot cake donut holes.
I was really looking forward to trying Odd Duck as I heard so many amazing things. I went with a group of 4 people and was able to try from 4 different plates and it was all way too salty. I could taste the depth of flavor that they were trying to achieve but dang! Why so much salt?! The hostess was very nice but our waiter had an apathetic vibe. The actual place itself was very nice, but maybe for just a drink.
Food is super good! They do a great job in accommodating vegans and vegetarians! Desserts were to die for and the drinks were quite tasty as well.
What a great place, delicious shareable plates (smoked fish pimento pictured), excellent selection of local beers, cocktails, wines. Like that it's local farm to table as well. Antelope was a first for me, incredible.
Delightful and fun new American restaurant specializing in local products. Everything we had was delicious. The service was friendly, professional, and helpful. Highly recommended!
Superb, professional service, great sushi experience....
This was my first time in Uchi but I went with my daughter, who knew what to order, etc. I had some machi cure, yellow tail and onions, crunchy salmon, the seasonal fish (it was bass), brussel sprouts, roasted beets and a small batch (6) of yasai maki (vegetarian rolls). Also had some white wine.... Overall, everything was excellent and...
Potentially intimidating menu to read, but everything is amazing. Fear not. Eat eat eat. Yum yum yum.
Let's just say when Ellen's people asked me what my girlfriend's favorite restaurant in Austin is so they could recreate the facade for my flashmob dance proposal- I said Odd Duck.
Go for dinner. Make a reservation. Let the very friendly and knowledgeable staff help you choose your 5 or 6 course meal and enjoy one of the best farm to table experiences we have ever had the opportunity to eat. We recommend the paloma which is on draft for drinks. We loved every second of the meal. It is an experience my wife and I will not forget.
Thought the place was cute and had been wanting to go for a long time. I knew the place would be expensive but we were forced to use valet so the guy could park it RIGHT there. He didn't even pull it out for us. It was stupid. And there were tons of open tables (lunch, Thursday) and the rude hostess didn't even ask for preferences. She just set us at the bar. I got the pulled pork. Not very good... Oh and I got FOOD POISONING. It lasted all day long. First time going there. And it will be the last. Yuck.
Still my number one place in Austin. There is no fish you can go wrong
Best restaurant in Austin. Love the creativity of each dish and the highest quality ingredients
We were surprised at how much flavor and contrast were packed into each of the small plates. Looks like the menu changes monthly too. Not sure how they do it. Service was great as well.
Amazing place! All the food was excellent. Had the ivory-cola homemade soda and it was great.
Foodwise, loved the shrimp/chorizo/potato as a started. Was a great dish and the shrimp didn't overpower the meal.
The wagyu steak was phenomenal!
The chocolate ice cream was just the best. Recommend it from all the dessert selections.
All plates are small and shareable so get several at least 3-4 dishes.
Killer food, killer service. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Two of us did 7 small plates (they recommended 5 for two people) and every plate left us ready for another.
Gourmet dishes served on casual dinnerware in a comfortable setting. The service and drinks are top notch! The food is unparalleled. Love this place
Be adventurous and try a little bit of everything!!!
Everytime I come here the food is incredible and the changing menu keeps me continuously interested through out the year. Everything is fresh and they will even adjust the menu to any dietary needs. Even the drinks are made with fresh local ingredients. Alessandro is by far the best bartender. He's been working here for years and knows his stuff. Thank you for the amazing crew at Odd Duck for always making me feel at home.
Food are delicately designed for creative flavors, and the service was super nice. We were actually moved to tears by how sweet our waiter was.
Creative menu that changes regularly. Unique flavors and beautiful presentations.
Define a place you'll want to go when visiting Austin. One of the best the city has to offer!
Over-priced hipster fare in tiny portions. Best dish was pork belly, which would have been vastly improved by being twice the size and in a bun
An extraordinary food and atmosphere experience for both my husband and I. The service was exceptional! We knew we were going to enjoy our experience before stepping foot into Odd Dick, based on the numerous recommendations that came our way. But the only reason it took so long to get here was the fact we're from Wisconsin. Keep up the great job gang!!! Thanks for the great experience.
Amazing food. I love sharing small plates. It is a great place for date night. The HH special margaritas were delicious and the quail was amazing! Would definitely recommend!
Every single thing that I put in my mouth from here was absolutely top notch. A bit pricey considering that the portions are very small. We had seating at the bar, and everyone was very friendly. They locally source all of their ingredients, so you know that everything is fresh and supporting local farms and ranches! That definitely comes through in the food with the evident care in quality, freshness and taste.
Dined here in a large group with a pre fixed menu so I will admit it's a different experience. Our waiter was patient and wonderful, the staff took extra care of our friends with dietary restrictions, and the cocktails were delicious. The food came in waves in small sharable plates, we had a bit of everything and it was all delicious. This would be an excellent place for a date!
WAY too much salt in every dish. Except for the salad we had, every dish on our table was just ridiculously salty to enjoy. In my opinion, getting the salt balance right is the fundamental basic of cooking. This was my 4th time here at Odd Duck, but it s always a hit or a miss, and never consistent. I keep thinking, it s gonna be better this time, and am just always disappointed. Not worth the hype. There are far too many, far better restaurants in Austin to gamble time and money here.
I really wanted to love this place. It's all very fresh, very creative, locally sourced, etc. But for me, too overwrought. I've been twice, and I found myself annoyed by the menu. Ash roasted carrots? Chicken fried fish head? Don't get me wrong: the dishes I list are probably delicious, service was excellent, everything I tried tasted wonderful, bar is great, I can totally see how some folks would love it. That said, I don't love it. I won't say no if a friend wants to go here, but its not on my list of favorites.
Loved the ODD food pairings...extremely creative and tasty. Great drinks and walking distance to other bars.
Great! Exceeds expectations and expectations were high. Slightly informal dining room but stellar food options. Flavors absolutely on point. Will be sure to visit again soon!
I never thought I would like a place like this.
Everything is always fresh, unique and delicious.
I am here a minimum of three times a week.
The menu changes so I never get bored.
I also love, love love the great beer selection and unique drinks..
Working through the brunch drink menu now.
I cannot rave enough about the food here. I came here with a friend for dinner. The menu is tapa-ish style so expect small (but amazing) dishes. It's much better suited for small groups of friends or couples so you can share and order various things. We opted for the frog legs with Texas toast, Goat Lasagna, bread and butter, fried calamari, and I think braised beef with brussel sprouts. I washed it down with a couple of carrot mosow mules, which has now become of my favorite cocktails of all time. I love regular mules but this one was exceptional. The best dish, recommended by our great server, was the goat lasagna by far. I am still thinking about the dish months later...Believe me it's worth every dollar. I highly recommend Odd Duck for a nice meal. If only I lived in Austin again and could come every week!
