Wasn't as busy as I was afraid it was going to be. Just not cold enough to blow snow, but..but Monday it is suppose to snow I hear. That will get skiers and boarders out. Got snow tubing going and always fun to ice scate.

I have been waiting a few weeks to gather my thoughts after this experience. If I could give this place anything lower than 1 star I would I went to Ober Gatlinburg on February 20th, 2021. There are not many positives from the experience at the park but I'd guess the view from the tram was decent at best. Unfortunately, that's the only thing I can think of that was remotely acceptable. To start off there was a 30 min wait to get a ticket to get on the tram I understand limited parking on the mountain but the mountain parking lot was full before it opened and we were not able to purchase tickets or rent equipment in advance. The wait time to get on the tram was 2 hours while everyone was encouraged to wear masks and social distance the lack of organization to the lines made the wait chaotic. After arriving at the resort we were meet with another line for equipment rentals which was broken into 2 separate sections the lack of organization of the lines created another 2 hours of waiting. The equipment rented was very subpar for the price paid and was not well maintained having various rust spots on bindings of snowboard and ski outfit made of very cheap material that allowed water in. By the time we had gotten all the equipment from rental, we had stood in line from 10 am to 5 pm where we proceeded to tickets for a lift pass. We were charged full price even though we would not get a full day off snowboarding and while I understand the policy, to be charged 70 dollars for a few hours so 140 for the rental and 70 for the lift pass, and 17 for the tram ticket so 227 dollars and 6 and a half hours of waiting to get to the snow. Once we got up on the mountain there was barely any snow on the mountain after advertising a fresh 6 in of snow the night before, it was all man-made and not groomed at all making it very hard ice. After 1 run we could not stand the experience and tried to leave a bit early to find there was another 2-hour wait to get off the mountain we got in line around 630 and did not get to the bottom of the mountain till 830. All in all, I found the experience to be horrific overpriced and not worth the time it takes to just get on the mount easily spent 300$ for about 30 mins to an hour on the mountain if I could I am ever asked about the trip I will give my honest feedback and tell anyone to choose another destination.

If you park off the parkway and ride the tram up to Ober... Be prepared to be stuck up there until the people in your party have done all the things they want to do. I didn't realize that the tram was one trip up and one trip back. So, unfortunately we were forced to eat at their "restaurant" which is a glorified snack bar. The food is expensive and not really satisfying. I definitely think calling it a "restaurant" is a stretch. The teenagers had a good time and there was stuff to keep them busy. I think, also, that they pack WAY too many people on the trams... If you're clausterphobic, just drive up to the parking lot at the top. You can ride their chairlift to the tippy top and enjoy a beautiful view without having to touch any strangers.

It's fun to ride the tram to Ober. Once you get to Ober there is ice skating, alpine slides and other fun attractions. There are 2 snack bars and a restaurant. I recommend the tram because the drive up the mountain is hard on transmissions. It's worth seeing.

The tram ride up was nice. All employees were nice. The bathrooms were kept clean. It's mostly shopping for grown ups, the ice rink and a few things for grown ups to do. More than half the rides are for younger children. There are a few rides for teenagers. We were here at the end of July. The lines were short and wait times were also because of it being centered around smaller children. The ride up the mountain on the lift was very pretty.

Are you going to pay for parking? Yes. Are you going to over pay for tubing? Yes. Are you going to be disappointed when sodas are $3? Yes. Is it worth it to go hang out? Also yes. Ober is just one of those stops you have to take. The views are amazing, the knick knacks are easy buys, and the staff is chill. Go dump your money already

We visited 12-24-18. Since it was Christmas Eve, we stayed in line over 40 minutes to sign paperwork for skiing, then we stayed in the line to pay for skiing another 20-30 minutes. It could be overwhelming for first timers. Great place if you know what you re doing and stay away during the holidays.

Not what I expected. There wasn t snow so there was no skiing. The shops and food options are outdated. There isn t a great view. Very touristy. Wouldn t recommend to others. Lines for ice skating were extremely long. Snow tubing was sold out for the day. There wasn t anything else to do once you got to the top of the mountain.

We wanted to take the drive up to see the skiers again since it has been awhile and it brought back so many good memories. We sat and watched the skiers, ice skaters and then walked around to the little indoor gift shops. Beware though, they do charge $10 to enter (I never had to pay in the past but its been awhile) so we were kind of bummed to have to pay that just to walk around.

We went in December when it was snowing; it was pretty to see everything turn white. I think it's worth checking out if you haven't been here before. Good place to take the kids ice-skating - we spent hours skating at their indoor rink. Unfortunately, the black bear facility was closed due to the bears hibernating. Skiing wasn't open either because not enough snow had stuck.

It's just Awesome!!! There's views all around, there's ice skating and I've bumper "boats". There's also eateries and shops of all sorts. I got the cutest leather cross body bag at the leather store!! There's also restrooms on either side of the building. Great places to take the family for some fun, shopping, AND.... Tram rides or chair lift rides!!! Loads of fun for the family!!!

My kids had a blast here! My older kids 8 and 10 loved the alpine slide they did it several times. We got the worst bands so we were able to do everything multiple times. There wasn't much for the 1 year old since the cars were closed but she still had a fun time doing the carousel and the wildlife encounter. I really enjoyed the alpine coaster and me and my son rode it twice. We really had a great time there, we got there at 12pm and stayed till 6pm (close) and I wish we had more time!

We went for skiing and wasted 2 days just standing in the line.

If you are going after 7:30 am don't go up hill rather taking arial Tram.

Just over all horrible customer service! Tram lady MJ was amazing otherwise a lot of other employees are rude and you can tell they hate their job. I saw two couples given a hard time because they wanted a refund because they bought tickets for the tram and no one told them everything was closed so they went all the way up wasted time and the supervisor was extremely rude to them. Then we live literally a quarter mile a way if even that and we left something valuable at our place and we wanted to run back to grab it and come back but was going to be forced to pay another $8 for parking! The guy running the booth was rude to us about it. It also was 10:00 am you re not even busy and we literally just paid and when we got to the top realized we left it at home. I think you all need to have a training on customer service!!! Especially when your customers are paying a ton of money at your place! Definitely wouldn t recommend this place to anyone, any more!!! Very disappointed with your customer service!

Won t go back. Way to expensive, then you have to pay to ride the roller coaster, tubing, etc. Not much is included I. The wristband and some rides were closed. It looked run down in my opinion. I know it s a popular place in the winter, but I m not impressed.

Tram ride was awesome. Lots of history in the Smokies from Dunkin Donuts house on stilts and the Barbie Dream Home. Let's not forget the "Airplane House" featured on HGTV that can't be seen this time of year.

Paid to go to the top only to find out NOTHING was open. Dont waste your time or money here. Paid for snow tubing and it was extremely expensive to only get to go down three times total. The time slots are overbooked and not enjoyable for anyone to wait in such a long line each time they get to the bottom of the hill. There's no direction from the staff and too many teens looking to jump in front of the smaller kids. Very disappointed.

Loved it, it was very Cold but we had fun, the only thing that I didn't like was that we drove up the back side and we had to park on the side street and catch a bus ride to the top, where we parked at was really muddy and we had to pay$10:00 to park there, but we had a great time

The place is quite impressive. Be prepared for a wait to get on and go up. You also have the option to drive up but it was cool riding the tram. When you get up there it's a little smaller than I thought it was going to be. Some of it needs a bit of an update including the restaurant on the second floor which we even had trouble finding out how to get to it. I personally think this is more of a thing you would want to bring teenagers to if you have kids.

Unfortunately in the time of COVID-19, Ober Gatlinburg is not doing its part to promote social distancing and reduce the risk of spreading the virus. This past week I was there and there were signs that mandated masks, however only a handful of individuals were actually wearing masks for the entirety of the ride over the mountains. In addition, Ober is consistently cramming people into the trams and not reducing the volume of people at all while on board. Further, between rides, they are NOT doing any cleaning. They carelessly spray Lysol as though that is enough to clean the space. Lastly, while on our ride back the conductor literally told everyone as we were arriving back to the bottom of the mountain when we get back please put your masks back on because my boss is crazy, ya ll can keep them off whenever you re around me.

It s a frustrating reality for everyone but following simple social distancing guidelines and actually mandating the mask wearing could benefit the greater community. This seems especially prudent as the numbers of confirmed cases in Tennessee continue to rise. I hope Ober can set a better example and actually enforce the rules they are supposedly implementing for the safety of their patrons.

90 MINUTE TUBING SEASON

90 MINUTE TUBING SEASON

Hello and warning to all reading this.

Paying $30 for a 90 minute session is VERY misleading. Sunday, the 19th of January 2020, we paid for 3 adults and 1 child. We arrived around 6:30pm that evening, got our tubing tags from the will call, and waited for our session. At 6:55pm we went outside to the waiting area for tubing. You stand there for 15 minutes. That puts you at 7:15pm. At that time you are given a tube and told to go to the next line. This line is for the ramp to take you up the hill. This line is another 15 minutes. You are now at 7:30. That s 30 minutes of your PAID for tubing time lost before you even get to tube once. A lot of you will think, or say, With the amount of people tubing, that seems like a reasonable time to wait. I understand this as well. You need to remember tho, they stop selling tickets when X amount are sold so there isn t over crowding. Once you get to the top of the little hill you get to wait again. No, I m not even talking about that line. I m talking about sitting on the slope ready to be told to Go . This was talking 2-4 minutes a time, AFTER the lower landing area has been cleared of tubers. Thats another 8-16 minutes of time gone. Each time you go down the 15 second hill, you wait again in the ramp line to be scanned in again. I ll use only 10 minutes of the time waiting, because that is almost what we waited. Leaving 20 more minutes of tubing. I say, ONLY 20 more minutes, putting you at 8pm. At 8pm we were told to put the tubes up, our session is over. Now this is the time where we were misled. You only get 4 trips down the hill. You do not get the full 90 minutes. The reality is you only get 4 trips down then you are done with your session. Each trip is only 15 seconds. This is NOT advertised on the web, pamphlet, or in person.

A better way to run this tubing area is a lot simpler than they are running it. Have a scanner at the entrance and close the entrance when the X amount are accounted for. Put 2 or 3 people at the bottom ushering tubers to the safe area quickly. Put 1 person at the ramp guiding them quickly up it. Then put 2 at the top of the hill sending tubers down. This would allow more tubing trips per person and ease the waiting lines. Also it would make those who have paid for the 90 minute session feel it was worth it because they could actually get 90 minutes and it would be a LOT more enjoyable for the families. Just saying Ober.

Now to the upstairs restaurant we visited at 1:30pm that same day to scope out the area and see where we needed to be and at what time that evening. The restaurant offered a buffet, and a limited menu. The buffet was the worst food I ve ever tasted. I ended up ordering a hamburger after two bites of the buffet. One of piece of chicken, and one of the lasagna. That s how gross it was. Yes, I m a foodie who s been all over this country and others eating foods from all sorts of questionable places, and this one is one of the top ten, Never agains . The hamburger was a typical dry Bubba Burger you d get at Walmart and reheated. The fries were decent, and I d order them again by themselves. So be warned folks.

Our family will not be going back to Ober Gatlinburg for anything. We feel it s just not worth the headache or money and it s not as advertised at all.

Sorry Ober Gatlinburg, but this was our experience at your place.
