Most of the attractions are for small children, but the tram is fun. Plus you can take another skylift to go even higher up the mountain. The animal encounter is really cool. Their nocturnal animal room is extremely neat. Plenty of shops and places to eat. Their restaurant upstairs has good food with even better views. Great places for families with young kids.

We had a great time visiting and will return one more time before our trip is over! I surprised my husband with a snowboarding trip for our anniversary, and he loved the slope, though landing the wipe outs was much more demanding on the body than the cushiony slopes of NNY! Nevertheless, a great time. The scenic chairlift to the top of Mt. Harrision was gorgeous! It was fun on the way up, naming all the animal prints in the snow below, but the view at the top and the ride back down captured us with smokey mountain splendor! Wow! I am in love! Thanks for a great time. Oh, and Mike in one of the shops was very helpful in purchasing new, non-army issued gloves and a mask. And, a fellow 31Bravo ftw!

Never come here. Big waste of money and deceitful business practices. Will sell you tickets for attractions that are scheduled to be closed for maintenance for the next four days. Won t offer partial refund, just credit to attractions we already have unlimited for. Ridiculous place.

Wonderful place! Lots more to do than I expected. The Ski Instructors did an excellent job. All the people I ran into were super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend visiting Gatlinburg. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Ober is showing its age, that's for sure. I think your experience will vary depending on the day, conditions and volume of guests. They seems to oversell their ice skating and snow sledding Tix, making for a less than enjoyable experience.

Neat concept, poor execution. We bought snow tubing passes for Dec 30th @30 bucks a piece (for 3 people) plus 10 bucks to park, plus 3 tramway tickets @ 15 dollars each, plus 2.5 hours of standing in inline for the tram, plus MASSIVELY oversold session. All that equals 3 (yes 3) trips down the tubing run. (for the record, that's over 16 bucks per slide)The staff was TERRIBLE and inefficient in their jobs. Plus there was no snow on the mountain and the ice that was there was slushy and gross. DON'T waste your money. Just go get a "snow cone" and sit on it instead.
The area is full of better things to do for less money.
Sorry Ober, you really missed the boat on this one.

Took a group of students snow tubing today. Ober had WAY to many people toubing during our session, the Magic carpet to get you to the top didn t work half the time. Staff didn t seem to look like they knew what was going on. We paid for an hour and a half of snow toubing ($250 before tax) and our group got to go down 3 times??? A TOTAL waste of money and a waste of a trip. So dissatisfied and disappointed.

That s a cool place, which has many activities, like mountain coaster, snow tubing, alpine coaster, indoor ice skating ring, snack/pizza places and the restaurant with the great view. We even enjoyed a band music on an overlook view point - that was quite unexpected but very pleasant.
On the week of Thanksgiving the tubing was overbooked but we were lucky to get a session at 5 pm... not sure why it s always an issue with tubing in many places, when demand is much higher than proposal... (((
We did not like the tram, which takes you to the resort - it carries too many people and you can hardly enjoy the view :(. I think, it s possible to get there by the car.

This place is a joke. Everything is either sold out, booked up or closed. Their website doesn't bother to mention this so try buying online before going, so you will know. If you ride the tram be prepared to be stuck up top for 1-2 hours waiting to get down.

Called ahead of time yesterday to make sure they were not at capacity for skiing and the slopes were good to go. The person on the phone told me everything was good and skiing was working as well. We drove 45 minutes just to find out 1 mini slope that was basically melted was the only one open. When I mentioned that I called to make sure we were good to ski and we clearly were not the attendants did not seem to care one bit. They basically told us the slopes were good to go because they had a mini one open.... seemed like they were trying to be smart with us about it when we would have preferred honesty. Very disappointed

Very disappointed.
My children and I drove from Florida to see Gatlinburg and play in snow. I checked the website before leaving to make sure they were still renting tubes. We arrived and paid for parking, and were then told they were no longer rentung tubes for the rest of the weekend.
The attendant told me that they should still let them play in the snow. They said we could also try will call for tubes. We bought sky tram tickets and rode up the mountain.
At the top, the will call attendant was surprised to hear they were no longer renting tubes AND that the kids area was closed. We then went outside and saw that there was no one using the kids area, which was full of snow. There was also no one snow tubing...
I asked the attendant if the kids could play in the snow, and she said no. I said, "So you're telling me theres NOWHERE for little kids to play in the snow unless they ski or snowboard?"
She matter of factly replied "YES".
So my disappointed children and I went inside. The only thing my 3 year old could so was ride the bumper cars. We waited in line for 30 minutes for a 7 minute ride.
This was very disappointing for us, and Im sure for many other parents, as there were a LOT of young children there.
So over $100 wasted on this disaster of a trip. Leaving with a 3 year old having a temper tantrum because she was literally 1 foot from the snow she had been dying to play in all week, and then not being able to touch it was the cherry on the top of a disappointing sundae.

It's out dated looks like the 70s .... I had been drinking and the employees let me ice skate, the rink needed to have the zamboni ran over it, it was puddles of water I fell and broke my wrist......

Loved this place so much, so beautiful. The view was breathtaking and the drivers were informative and kind. It was sectioned off by plexiglass to keep people separated and disinfected after each use.

We went only because it was locals appreciation week and it was cheap. However, I sure hope the employees are nicer to tourists than they were to us today. It began to be a joke about how many more people would be rude to us! It started with the rude older gentleman at the Gatlinburg end of the tram who made me carry my stroller and kids quite a bit further than necessary. When I questioned it, he said that everyone has something to complain about. Then, we stood in line to ride the bumper cars. We were the second group in line to be given directions and when we went out to the cars, there wasn't one left for my daughter and me. Instead of removing the last people to enter from a car, he told us we'd have to wait while the rest of our group rode. Then, the lady working g the register at the ice skating rink had absolutely no sense of humor and snapped when an innocent joke was made. I'm glad it was only $5 for us because if I'd paid $44 like everyone else for the wristband, I'd be ticked!

The "O" in Ober must mean old, outdated and overpriced. Purchased tickets for the Alpine slide and was told one side was open. As we waited in line for the chair lift to the top, they closed the slide due to incoming rain. When my husband asked if we could get a refund on our tickets he was told yes. The ticket booth refused. We paid $75 for the tram ride, then another $35 for slide tickets. We weren't asking for the tram refund (although we wouldn't have taken the tram at all if we knew we couldn't slide). For $110, we endured long lines in stuffy concrete Soviet era looking rooms, walked past half-dead plants around sunken empty fish ponds, used a dirty bathroom with out of order stalls and felt sad for the black bear confined to his small enclosure. If that's your idea of fun, give it a whirl. Otherwise skip it and do something real like whitewater rafting at Smoky Mountain Outdoors.

Pretty expensive, as everything in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge tend to be thanks to tourism, but overall a great place to go for the day l, especially if theres kids with you. Staff was mostly friendly :)

This entire park is super commercialized which was a bit of a downer. The chairlift is rickety and scary so if you're looking for that I think you should go to the skylift downtown instead. The Alpine slide would likely be fun for young kids but our small group of 18-48 year olds didn't enjoy it very much. However, there are Dippin' Dots. That pretty much makes it great in my book. Not the Dippin' Dots in the bag either, the real kind in cups that they scoop from ice cream buckets. Dippin' Dots made it all worth it.

The staff is friendly and patient. There is a large variety of activities and it is reasonably priced. When you buy your tickets to get up the mountain, they are good for 2 days, so buy early on the first day to maximize your fun.

Ober Gatlinburg is nice for family fun. They have a skating rink inside the building. They make snow at night so the ski slopes have snow on them during the day. There is also a short tubing slope that has several lanes. There is a bar and restaurant on the upper level in the building. You can get bar food at the bar and drinks are reasonable. There is a view of the ski slope from the bar. There is an $8 parking fee to access Ober Gatlinburg.
