Beautiful place, and friendly workers and cool shops
Skipped the tram and drove up. Parked for $8. Don't regret that decision. Rode the mountain roller coaster once and it was totally worth it. Almost wish I'd had done it twice.
Best skytram ever. Views that can never be paralleled.
Great place to ski or snowboard, as well as ride the Aerial Tram up to Ober Gatlinburg. Just a great place to visit to getaway from down Gatlinburg.
When I got to the top of the mountain somethings were closed
Love ober great place to go. Awesome views. Mountain grass is a great bluegrass band.
It's a fun experience, I suggest doing it at least once when you visit the area. Food is exceptional and there is a show.
Loved it, especially the mountain coaster and ice skating. Reasonable pricing, even on food. Just wish more snow could have been blown in for more snow tubing availabilities.
Depending on what time of year you go, and the weather you encounter, this place is a blast, whatever your age. It can get a tad pricey if you do everything, but you will want to! We went over the week of New year's 2018. It was SUPER crowded, but we still had a great time. We did not get to ride some of the rides due to rain, but we did the ice skating, the ski lift and the little ones rode the carousel. My brother was able to ride the mountain coaster before they closed it for rain, and he said it was a blast. I have ridden the alpine slide on a previous visit and it is very fun (like a one person bobsled) and there are 2 tracks so you can race each other. We went up the ski lift, which I love, and the views are spectacular, and if you're afraid of heights, it's not too bad at all bc the ground is not too far away, even though it slopes upward on the mountain. Amazing views at the top. They have a wildlife walk if you want as well. Worth the money and a good way to spend a day. Also- if you don't want to pay or wait for the tram, you can drive there! It's not very far away from the main square, and it's a beautiful, scenic drive.
Good rides, I loved the mountain coaster and the tubes, majority of things are great for kids 3 and up. I recommend getting there when it opens, buying the premium wrist band. It takes about all day to do everything. Also I recommend taking the ski lift all the way up to the top to get an amazing view and live band "The Mountain grass Band."
Tram ride was awesome. Families will enjoy the activities
Very very awesome if you have kids. Kinda cool if your an adult. Had a great time.
Terrible time, we spent literally 2 hours in different lines waiting there was way too many people and not enough staff. Very overpriced also, spent 300 dollars just to ski for two people.
Maybe we just caught them on a bad weekend. It was the most crowded ski resort I have ever been to. You would have to get there at 7 am to get a decent place in line. We waited for just OVER 3 hours to rent equipment and get lift tickets. Food is pub food. All fried. There are only 2 lifts total, so if you are expecting Vail or Breckenridge, lower your expectations. My advice, rent equipment elsewhere so you can skip the line and get there at 7 am. Also they do NOT rent goggles or sunglasses.
Worh it , even saw a bear front the tram walking on the ground by a house in the picture
Oktoberfest is going on and, even with COVID-19, Ober Gatlinburg is still a great place for fun and entertainment!
Great fun for the whole family. Sky tram, skiing, ice skating & snowboarding. Reasonably priced but quite rundown after decades of operation. We enjoyed immensely.
I visited Gatlinburg on 12/19/20 for vacation and was going to go to Ober Gatlinburg. I use google maps and end up waiting an hour in a line of cars until we get to the gate entrance of the amusement park where we were told parking was full and we had to leave. Naturally, everybody waiting in line was upset because the wait was about an hour if not more just to get to the gate entrance and the workers did not walk to the cars at the end of the line to tell us to turn around. And as some cars were leaving the parking lot, we still weren't allowed to park. We asked if there was another entrance we could go inside and they said no. I was counting on skiing but I guess I'll never know because I am never wasting my time on that place again.
Waited in line almost 3 hours. It was a disappointment after arriving up the mountain. I won t be wasting anymore of my money on this place
I loved this place, very beautiful, lots of fun in the snow.
Definitely not recommended, you will expend like three or more hour on the line to get it on top, and them they have had sold every single ticket for main attractions, very bad maintenance, very bad management..... please if go to Gatlinburg never waste your time and money on the Ober
Very simple place an apt for a casual weekend.2 to 3 hours will be sufficient for exploring affordable for everyone
Great family entertainment!! Alpine slide was definitely a highlight.
Loved this place. Lots of different things to do. Good for all ages and family friendly.
Excellent place for sky you can go up in the cable car but you will make a long line because a funicular arrives every 12 minutes, however you can save those hours and go in your car and park up or by bus and it leaves you in front of the Ober entrance. It is a bit expensive to rent the equipment and use the track but you are already there ... what difference does it make? To turn off!
I struggle giving 1 star ratings, but this one came close. Not much in the line of entertainment up there. Went to the inside restaurant and opted to eat at the bar. The bartender was rude to servers and harsh with customers. I gave it 2 stars only because it was the best Bloody Mary I have ever had.
My daughter had a great time at Ober Gatlinburg. I'm glad we were able to go.
AWESOME!! Me and my friends went skiing for the first time and it was an incredible experience!! It was very fun and we had a blast!! They have everything here they have food, shops, ice skating, snow tubing, skiing, snowboarding and more!! Must go!! Here are some pics of the food! We went to a place called Seasons of Over and it was awesome!
Ober Gatlinburg is just simple poorly managed... they use holiday weekend as an excuse for 2-3 hour wait times and no parking... but today isn t a holiday, its not even a weekend, it s a work day for most people, and yet we still have the same long lines at the tram and ticketing, and no parking... a schizophrenic bum could manage this business better!!!!
Overpriced. Glory days are past. Sad animal enclosures.
Always enjoy our visit. The lines were a little confusing, we had a young lady yelling to make three lines at the entry onto the conveyor for no apparent reason. It took away from the experience and was very annoying.
Such an awesome place to see. A little city on top of a mountain! Lots of things to do and see, most of them reasonably priced. I highly recommend the ski lift to take you to the top, most definitely an amazing view of the mountains. Absolutely breathtaking.
A beautiful and fun summit for young and old, with summer excursions, fun games, a small zoo and a ski lounge.
This place is an overpriced, glorified carnival.
You have to pay for parking and then when you get up to the free Oktoberfest, you have to pay extra to get authentic German food and see the entertainment. Their free entertainment outside was really bad live country music, not German entertainment. The beer was pretty good but the bier garden? It was just ok. Then the food. All they have is a bratwurst that I could have made at home for a better price. Not to mention the gnats inside that hovered around our food - gross. I really think they paid much more for their advertising than they did on the actual festival.
We then decided to try the lift but it was undergoing maintenance and we couldn t do that either. So we
truly felt like we just wasted a bunch of time and money.
All that to say I don t recommend this place. You can get a better deal and same scene going to the carnival in town.
Snow tubing was poorly managed. In an hour, we could only go down 3 times. It appeared to be over sold and workers were not communicating with customers in a manner to keep the line moving efficiently. We could not park at facility, had to ride tram way. Over crowded, facility from the 70 s, took over an hour to get back down mountain. Parking is limited and product was a disappointment. Won t do this again, other options for snow tubing now available.
Great way to spend the day at the top of the mountain. Highly recommend for the tram ride and sky lift as well. I only wish they would streamline ticketing.
First time skiing, the experience was great. Was pretty busy until about 7pm on a Weds.
Tourist trap! Don t expect good service at this place! They are clearly in business just for the money. The employees are very rude and don t care about the visitors here. I went into one of their gift shops and the employee made me wait until she was done reading the portion of the fictional book she was going over. The food and drinks in the lounge/bar are terrible. The closed skylift, what a waste of money. They pack you in to a tiny box with no seating area but a couple benches that left 90% of the people standing. I had my toddler plus her bags and stroller. They make you close the stroller and brings all your bags with you. So my husband and I had to stand up caring everything including my 2 year old because the ride is bumpy in certain spots. Overall this place isn t worth your time or money. I hope you find a better place that cares about their visitors!
Pretty cool place. Make sure to buy the all day pass. Watch some of the animal feedings too.
The tram ride was a good experience..awesome views..the outside has some good attractions for families. The inside didn't have much to offer
Their time shows that they close at 9pm, but beware that, that is only for the skiing and snowboarding!! The inside attractions such as the ice bumper cars and ice skating CLOSE AT 5PM and they do not advertise that online or on goole maps!
Also, their signs said mask required, but 90% of people there (costumers) DID NOT wear a mask inside!! Sadly I would not recommend.
We bought tickets! We went up the mountain on the... go-up-to-mointain thing!! We got our skates on! We skated! We fell down! We got back up! We fell back down! We got immediately shown up by two actual skaters whose presence did not bring out the best of us, but made us all feel lesser and lower! We fell down! We limped out! We de-skated! We walked around! We went down to the land on the go-down-to-land thing!
While the tubing was a wonderful experience, the check-in experience was just shy of terrible. They boasted of having an online ticket process that was confirmed by the information desk. We stood in line for 20 minutes only to be told we had to have our tickets printed at a different location. Stood in line for another 20 minute period only to refill out the whole ticket process we were supposed to have been able to complete online.
Shopping, activities, food, tram ride has great views.
The tram was an awesome ride and all of the staff are amazing, thoughtful, and super helpful. The village on the other hand is ran down and expensive. Everything is individually over priced. The kids package was ok for $10 unlimited kiddie rides but you get maybe 2 hours of fun.
Honestly, with snow barely on the ground the skiing was pretty decent for my kids to learn on. Therefore we actually went for the tubing. They added time slots to allow more to go, however honestly they sold so many slots for our 1.5 hour window and it was so overcrowded, that The kids and I only went went twice in 1.5 hours, because the lines were so disorganized and overcrowded. Then the associates were rude and you could tell they didn t enjoy there job at the tubes. Also to boot, they were pretty much the only attraction in town that did not offer military discount. They also charge to get in for parking but you also have to pay to do everything !!!! Talk about a non military loving , non mandatory parking charging place. I will not return. I will go to sugar mountain instead from this point on.
Nice but the snow tubing was booked through til February
A little disappointed in size and classiness of the place. Just wasn t as much to do as it sounded. Nice views though.
Awesome place to have fun. And they got awesome employees. Because I was on the mountain coaster and somebody was being a jerk making everybody stop and two of the nice employees gave me a free ride.
The tram ride up was pretty. They ha e ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, a few shops, and a snack bar.
It was very interesting and my 9 year old grandson had a blast
WAIST OF MONEY AND TIME!
NO concern for COVID! I hope the CDC shuts this place down IMMEDIATELY. They let over 40 people inside of the aerial tram. With no strict reinforcements of masks, cleaning or social distancing. No hand sanitizers anywhere when getting out of the tram.
I was so excited about a Bavarian restaurant and planned to go eat some lunch at the restaurant in Ober Gatlinburg. When we arrived the restaurant was empty only two other couples were eating. When I looked at their plates, the vegetables looked like they were frozen. We looked at the menu and to our surprise there was NO Bavarian food! There was one item (schnitzel) that was offered as Bavarian food. The whole place seemed so unbelievably creepy! When we were led to go to our table it was dirty, so the waiter cleaned it with a rag, no sanitizer or cleaner used at all. We decided to leave.
After that we walked around the attractions and it s super outdated and again creepy looking. Nothing to do for people without kids. And the whole place just looked disgusting. The stores weren t interesting at all.
We ended up leaving 20 minutes after we have made it up there. I m highly disappointed and to be honest I was just so excited to go there. The idea of this place was so cool but it was a huge bummer. I feel like there is no way I will not get corona after being stuffed into this tram like sardines. Even all the passengers were complaining and couldn t believe it.
Thank thank you . We had such a great time up there. My girlfriend lost her hat and we went to the lost a found area. They founded and sent mail it to us free of charge. I'm so happy they did that since she really liked that hat .
Always fun place to visit. Activities year-round. Good food, drinks, and memorabilia.
Over priced tram ride to get to an over priced amusement park. Some rides are okay but not much bang for the buck.
If you snow tube and buy tickets online - it saves you zero time, just a heads up. For all the Over employees you would think at busy season for tubing, skiing etc. there would be more lines open to get everyone taken care of in a quicker manner. Tube time 90 minutes, stand in line 35..... poor management.
(We were a party of 6) we walked up to the ticket booth to be greeted by a very rude young lady by the name (Mandy ) informed us we got no discount for staying at the resort were we stayed even those the resort papers said we did, then we ask about a coupon we had and she was very rude about that, informed us all activities outside were closed but we had to still pay full price to ride the Tram, which we didn't ask for price to be reduced because of that, dont know if she was having a bad day or what ,needless to say the two couples we had with us had never rode it , so we over looked her rudeness and rode it anyway! We paid 78.00 to ride the Tram and to put up with a very rude worker!
Fun, fun, fun,and did I say fun. Great place to visit with the family. We had a ball.
