Must visit if in Brisbane, two hours away. Very organised. Great overview of the historical rainforest system in this part of the world

Great location, food quality was excellent. Staff were friendly and professional. The accommodation (mountain view cabin) is ok but finish quality is average and needs a bit of maintenance. You will hear everything your neighbour does as the walls seem thin & wooden floors transfer a lot of noise. Especially if they decide the furniture needs to be rearranged at 12:30am. Breakfast & coffee was nice but I would prefer to order specific items rather than paying $30 for all you can eat (but it wasn't a buffet..). The eggs benny & coffee should have only cost me $24 max. It didn't seem good value for money. Add to that the quality of the road to get there and back, means unfortunately I'm unlikely to visit again. Beautiful place though and good to do at least once.
Tree top walk. Very suitable for family with kid(s)
2 and a hour hour drive from my location, beautiful drive very peaceful, enjoyed the day out with the walking tracks, hand feeding birds. Overall the day was great.
I love this place. Although the drive is a bit scary it pays off. The views are amazing. The food is delicious and the wildlife is captivating! This is the best holiday retreat ive ever been to and it by far has the best sceneary, food, service and activities ever. While your there make sure to check out the local wildlife. You will be truly captivated and amazed at the scenery that orileys has to offer. Its a 10/10 for me.
If you're looking for an escape from the daily grind, this is the place to do it! Such wonderful natural surroundings, native animals and they really know how to best capture the natural beauty of the area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of things to do if you aren't there just to relax.
Was dissatisfied with the visit today .Operating hours 3 pm on a weekend not acceptable should be 5 pm . The coffee was the worst I have ever had far too strong and didn't enjoy it at all. After driving 2 hours to visit your cafe my partner and I will pack our own drinks the view fantastic and too be told at 3 pm no service very dissappointed
Great place to get back to nature and away from day to day stresses
Lovely, lovely rainforest retreat. Family place, lots of activities. Two drawbacks: no acknowledgement of the traditional land owners in spite of its emphasis on history (we asked two people 'which tribe' and neither knew). Also, the restaurant menu lacked fresh options.
Update: See the response below, that absolutely pushes it to 5 stars. The fresh I can do without (it is on the top of a mountain after all).
3rd year in a row coming here for a few days for my birthday, this time in a Villa. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Had an amazing 6 hours at the spa with Samantha, she was absolutely lovely and I enjoyed the experience. Our group enjoyed making Dion one of our friends and always loved seeing his blue hair, then there was Shane who swooped in and was our waiter, a bloody character! Breakfast and dinner was never boring with you pair! The walks were beautiful and the villa was amazing. Absolutely loved the glow worm experience with Angus, he was awesome and absolutely a fantastic guide. Will definitely be back next year, hope Dion and Shane will still be there !! Thank you again for an amazing 5 days
Take some bird seed. Stay in the Villas if you get the chance.Take plenty of food to cook in the Villa.
Breakfast is great and the restaurant has plenty to choose from.
Definitely want come back here! So quiet and lovely and amazing service!
Drove up with son for lunch...Cafe is looking run down and dirty..minimal variety for lunch..
Very expensive and poor quality food..would not recommend.
The experience of feeding the birds by hand was excellent. Many exotic birds flew down at a time creating great photo ops. We visited the gardens and the skyward but did not take advantage of the many walking trails. The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced.
Long windy drive up the mountain was pretty dangerous and unpleasant. We did not stay or eat there, just did some walks and braved the drive back down. The walks and view are nice, but not really worth the drive, surprised by how many people are up there (not exactly peaceful), will stick to the less popular tracks and parks.
Very well maintained villas in a magnificent setting. Truly relaxing few days, with kids enjoying the zip line, glow worms and close encounters with birds and other wildlife of Lamington National Park.
Road undergoing repairs, expect delays. Beautiful place!
Looking a bit tired though it's still a lovely place you've got to have your wits about you driving to it though
O'Reilly's is a Great place to unwind and relax. I loved the bush walking trails, especially to the Wishing Tree, it was like something out of a fairy tale. The four wheel drive tour was Great, just wish there had of been a toilet on that hill, even the old fashioned hole in the ground cubicle type would have done. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. I loved watching the sunset from the bar in front of the open fire, we went in winter. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. I liked the meet and greet and hearing some stories from other guests, one guest was telling everyone that he had gone to O'Reilly's as a small child for a birthday treat and on this particular day it was his 70th Birthday, he said it was just as good the second time around.
Great location. You can do a little or alot. Fantastic walking tracks. Bird life is amazing and the staff are very welcoming and the food is fantastic.
Sadly
Started to get run
down
Let's skip past the drive up the super long, decaying road that makes you feel like you're about to plummet to your death, and focus on the place itself.
The wine is very nice.
The room was clean. The pillows need replacing. The spa leaked, so it had to be re-filled every 10-15mins, and is only as deep as an average bath. The furniture in the whole place - from the rooms, to the day spa, to the cafe and dining room - is old. Some of it looks like it was made in the 80s, and torn.
The coffee at the cafe is awful.
The dinning room staff are slow and lack common sense. Some have such poor English, we couldn't speak to them. After waiting for ages to be acknowledged by a waitress, our order was forgotten. We re-ordered, only to have our whole order - entrees, drinks, and mains - come out at once. The food was mediocre at best. Another night, we had pizzas delivered to our room - cold, with scant topping.
The sunset bar is nice. The view is so beautiful, as are the birds.
If we did return, we'd be bringing all our own food.
Great place to come and relax. The rooms were quiet, the tree walk was awesome, and the bartender made a great mojito!
2 days were enough though as there is not much to do but relax
The view from the room was amazing and the staff friendly and helpful. Only thing that could use a bit of work is the room was starting to show a bit of its age couple of broken things here and there but nothing major. Positive experience will be back.
Just loved our weekend away. The staff were exceptional. We were very comfortable, well fed and loved the rainforest as we always do. Thanks so much. Astrid &Graham
Nature at its best. Well maintained walks paths and surroundings. A must see place to visit. Loads for the kids to see and do.
Lush and tranquil location. Comfortable and exquisite equipped rooms. Food in the restaurant a bit pricey but one has to consider the long way everything has to be brought up the mountain. Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately they forgot the guide for the complimentary early bird tour
Awesome day out. Place is always clean and tidy. Cafe was under staffed and service was slow.
The O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat is an absolute must for anyone visiting Australia !!!! Pure nature, stunning scenery and probably the happiest and friendliest staff I have ever experienced!
The chef himself is at the toaster for breakfast and prepares the toasts while he lovingly talks with the guests. So much friendliness I have never experienced anywhere! The accommodations are fantastic, the food a treat and there are no wishes left. On my next visit to Australia, I will definitely go back to this oasis of well-being, but a bit longer to enjoy it even more! From me there are all thumbs up and 10 stars !!!
Greetings from Nancy from Germany
Lots of birds, rainforest, few yummy mummies around but unfortunately none of them gave me a wristy but one can live in hope
Great place for the kids to get closer to nature and for over seas visitors to see how beautiful Qld really is !
Great place to visit or stay overnight. The rainforest walks were awesome.
Very relax and natural place. The view is stunning.
Rooms are small but clean, modern and comfortable. Good service.
Nice place to visit but the road so bad. Need to plan your time.
Lovely place, lots of walking tracks, beautiful views, lots of birds some will land on you if you go on the tour.
Only letdown was the noisy pool heater making a racket all night. It needs fixing.
4.9
A beautiful location, lovely accomodation and lots to see and do.
5 Stars for location and views. The walk to the Moran Falls and the lookouts were breathtaking. Loved the Tree Top Walk and the climb up the fig tree. View from our canopy suite, stunning!
4 Stars for food and service. Lamb board for two was delicious, as was the eye fillet steak. Chocolate indulgent share board was 50/50, some of the items were sickly sweet.
2 stars for accommodation. Can only comment on the room we stayed in, but could do with updating. Very dated decor. Cleanliness 50/50. Blinds were covered with dirt and dead bugs. Unfortunately, the spa bath did not look inviting at all. Bathroom could do with updating and better cleaning.
Nice location, plenty of tracks to walk and check out
It is not easy to get there, the mountain routes are dangerous. However, tree-top walking is beautiful and interesting.
I have mixed feelings about this place, loads of potential but just doesn t live up to the $$$ s they are charging. Completely overpriced accomodation and food. Fine dining prices with local cafe service. It s not bad, just should be 1/4 the price they charge. Also, the infinity pool can be quite a walk to get to, we re talking 20 minutes. The hot tub was tiny for the amount of guests they can have. On the plus side, some amazing views and awesome tour guide. Just a shame they are using it as an atm on guests wallets.
Only visited to have lunch. Touching Nature, with birds here and there.
They will come to pick up food at table. Lunch is not very expensive, but late to offer if is occupied by many guest.
Fantastic views, awesome walks in the Lamington National Park. Louise Harvey and I stayed in the Mountain Views guest house and were absolutely disappointed. Our room was very run down paint rubbed off walls and dirty, the ensuite was in a poor state of repair with peeling paint, rust in the shower cubical and smelly toilet area. Very unpleasant... needed a complete renovation. For $300 per night you feel ripped off. Thank goodness for the views.
Loved our stay at O Reilly s. Great history, accommodations, food, programs and people. Couldn t have been better.
Nice place. Good opportunities for nature experiences, rainforest etc.
Lovely food, including gluten free options, lots of fun activities. Especially loved the glow worms tour. Spacious Retreat room. Good bush walks. Lots of wildlife
One of my favorite place near Brisbane. The walk inside the jungle is amazing.
Great food. Some issues with someone randomly walking into our room with a universal access card, and being handled poorly by management thereafter which was disappointing. Staff and shows where otherwise really good.
My partner and I got a couples massage and it was amazing!
This little Gem was a fantastic little excursion, beautiful spot on top of the mountains.. hows that view!
Holiday period located in the Lemmington National Park and on the edge of a rainforest. It is managed and maintained by the famous O'Reilly family who also own a vineyard and brokerage. In the rainforests there is a large diversity of animals such as posthumous, hawks and parakeets. This is a must for nature lovers. The cottages are a bit dated but everything is neat, tidy and beautifully situated with distant views. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
Awesome attraction so much to do. It's a shame the road is so treacherous, otherwise I would visit regularly
Love this place, good place for the weekend wind down with the family
Nice hotel surrounded by beautiful nature. Very sympathetic staff (family business). From the balcony a beautiful view of the mountains and the diverse wildlife. The parrots are very friendly and like to join the people (especially if there is a treat for them) translated hotel review archived The hotel is a bit getting old and somehow there are always a few reptiles in the room managed (despite closed windows and doors ). Definitely recommendable
Beautiful place for a respite from busy, noisy life. Rooms are comfortable and well kept, staff and professional and helpful.
I love the place, but it is very touristy now. As we were leaving there were no car parks but at least 10-12 cars were looking for a park.
An amazing nature getaway that Lamington National Park offers, and O Reilly s make it that much easier and convenient for travelers to experience the full package.
There are plenty of activities, but most are costly and only some are really worth doing. I would definitely recommend doing the guided walk to Sunshine/Picnic Falls as our guide Duncan was an absolute cheery and talkative lad! Other than that, most of the trails are amazing and really easy to conquer by yourselves if you re reasonably fit!
Lodging was cosy and cabin-like, but our room lacked good beds & pillows sadly.
All in all, it s a great place to relax over a few days. Just bare in mind things can easily get repetitive if you re not too involved in exploring the wilderness.
Villas are large and have all the utensils you need. Just bring oil etc. Clean and great views and private from others. Will be back.
Absolutely stunning part of Australia. The drive up through amazing forests needs to be done with care, road excellent but single lane in some places. There are many walks surrounding O'Reillys, we did the easy one along the boardwalk and through the tree tops. The accommodation and facilities looked great. Lots to see and do. Hopefully there are some of the spots left for Easter as I believe they suffered cancellations due to bushfires which in the end did not threaten the resort.lunch looking at the amazing and stunning view.
Beauitful, however needing maintenance and updating which was informed is due. Walks beauitful, views amazing. Twisty road up so drive safely up and down. Restaurant food lovely.
Fabulous location. Great value for money. Loved the walks and all the activities
Awesome little getaway! Lots to see and do and some great walking tracks ! Love the spa on the deck and the restaurant was amazing too!!!
Stunning scenery and the rainforest canopy walk is a great experience
Excellent day trip here. Food is good. Trails are great. Views are spectacular. Don't miss the tree top walk. Be prepared for the switchback drive up the mountain.
We had a fantastic trip away hiking. Special thanks to Brendan Long who is fantastic at what he does.
Service and staff were excellent, paired with a great natural view
O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat is one of the places to go if you're in the area. The Tree Top Walk, the Mountain Gardens, the birds that eat you out of hand or the story of O'Reilly's, I can only recommend this excursion
Great place, plenty of activities to do. Great place for bird watching. Fantastic staff even when you're not staying at the resort.
The resort dining room is open to non staying guests also. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
