O'Reilly's is one of the most beautiful places in Queensland and possibly Australia. There are a number of brilliant hikes you can do with O'Reilly's as your base camp, it is an awesome place to spend a weekend.

Beautiful views and feeding the rosellas was fabulous. The snacky food in the restaurant was nice. It is a lengthy trip up there but is worth it.
At the moment there is lots of roadworks which may slow you down.

The accommodation is nice. It's a bit dated but you get what you pay for. The activities are great and view spectacular. Be aware the bar fridge in the room is the smallest I have ever seen, so don't bring to much stuff. The birds of prey show was great, a real highlight of the trip. It's an extra fee to take a photo holding a bird but the money does support the birds.

No 1 contender for worst maintained road in qld, morons speeding down the mountain, just because some one is on a bike it doesn't mean you have right of way. Thank you to those who were polite followed the road rules and didn't force me off the road. Other than that the place is beautiful.

Beautiful tranquil natural views. Waking up to the sounds of the local bird songs..
Hikes for all levels of fitness.
Stayed 3 days and found that to be not to short or too long. Enough of activities to fill in those days.
Food at restaurant a little pricey, so i would recommend to bring your food/drinks to the mountain before you arrive as there are no grocery stores / fast food outlets.
No mobile phone service, wifi is available in the lobby of the retreat.
Driving up the mountain is beautiful. But take it slow as it is very winding!

It's quite the drive to get to O'Reillys, the windy roads up the mountain are both exciting and daunting. Even without staying at the retreat itself, it's an amazing place to spend a day out. From the gorgeous views to the treetop boardwalk to the multitude of hikes, the landscape and scenery are a pleasure to immerse yourself in.

Unbelievable . Its worth the effort to make the drive to the rain forest and wildlife. Tree top walk is unbelievable. Food and services was fantastic. + the rooms are available for booking

Travel here for the birds and a peaceful place in the woods. Tame parrots, rosellas and bowerbirds greet you at the front door, whipbirds call close by and many rarities hide in the dense vegetation all around. Nice paths to explore and great food to dine on in their spacious area. Rooms were modern and comfortable.

Went here with the family on the show day holiday. Kids had a great time and loved feeding the birds. The tree tops walk was leisurely and easy going on the board walk and suspension bridges. The tree climb was fun and my 6yo could handle the ladders easily. Drive up was pretty average due to lots of roadworks.

Nice place, very clean, gorgeous setting, great staff. Let down by decidedly average dinner (but expensive) and poor wifi. This is an expensive place so should invest in good wifi coverage for all rooms. It's not hard!

Sensational location. Service great everywhere but the cafe ~ everyone seemed to have knocked off / didn't care. But rest of the staff were amazing and caring.
The views are amazing.
The drive is for confident drivers and cars that can do a long steep climb.

Very relaxing and the resort offers a number of activities for the hotel guests and day visitors.
Don't miss the original Tree Top Walk (free) and climb up the two almost vertical stairs and the bird feedings.
Getting to the resort can be a challenge. The 30km road although sealed is narrow sometimes single lane, windy and you can get car sick.
Part of the road is subject to falling trees and rocks and since the road is the only way to and from the resort, if the road is blocked, then you can be stuck so I would not recommend you to stay or come here on your last day just in case you miss your flight home.

We went on a Thursday and it wasn't too busy - the drive up has spectacular views so don't sleep in the car! There are plenty of parking spots so don't worry about missing out either. Bring some warm clothes because the area is considerably cooler than the bay at the same time of the year.

We started off with lunch at the Cafe and was served by a very polite, Japanese lady. Wonderful service! The Mountain Burger and the sliders were tasty as and the hot chocolate was good too. The views were overlooking the mountain so if we didn't have anything else to do, we would have sat there all day.

We then made our way into the bird feeding area and were met with King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas. Being illegal to bring seed into a national park, bird seed is available at the shop and come in trays. Bring one of these up and the birds will land on any available space you have on your body. Long/thick sleeves will prevent scratches from their feet!

The Birds of Prey show can NOT be missed. Mark, the host obviously loves his job and cares about the birds, which is shown through the handling of them and the knowledge he brings. From owls to falcons, he brings them out one at a time and lets them roam around the audience for a truly up close and memorable experience. Photos of the birds on your gloved hand are also available after the show.

The walks were exciting too - we went on the Treetop and Moran Falls. The Treetop took about 45 minutes and we encountered the hollow strangler fig, suspension bridges in the treetops, and observation decks (accessible via almost vertical ladders). Those afraid of heights, beware on this one. Moran Falls was accessed by a 2km drive towards town (4 parking spots available) and a 2.2km decent. At the first lookout deck you'll have the best view of the falls, and at the second you'll see the valley. If you're a bit adventurous AND IF IT'S SAFE you can find a track and walk along the stream to where it becomes a waterfall - new profile picture right there. Absolutely breathtaking.

If we had more time we would have definitely stayed a night or two and made the drive worthwhile. There were plenty of things we missed out on but we will be back!

Great place to come and get away from city, it's a bit of a drive but a good day trip and a scenic drive. It's nice to hang out in the rain forest canopy, there's a good cafe an souvenir shop. Outside the visitor center you can feed the wild birds which come to sit on you. The kids loved this. The canopy walk is great and nice and cool in the bush. Well worth a visit.

Treetop walk is good. The cabins are basic, no TV or kitchen. They are clean so I think the staff do a good job. But the maintenance is not up to the same standard, eg, bathroom exhaust fan not working, window shutters need simple repair. The restaurant food is very good. The staff are good too.

Peaceful place for chilling out and exploring the nature. Nice resort. Must remember it is located in middle of nowhere, if you forgot something not easy to go get it. Parrots are so beautiful and the staff is great!

Superb place to visit. You feel like you are in nature's lap. The view is amazing. Parrot feeding is awesome. Roads are a bit tricky and may not be goood for people with motion sickness. But it's worth all the time.

The location is the most beautiful they have blended the villas in to the side of the rainforests mountain which does it justice with minimal amount of intrusion. The staff could not do enough for you. Tours were great, Wildlife shows were unreal and views from villas were spectacular. All in all it was the best time I have had in a long time. I LOVED IT AND WOULD DO IT AGAIN IF I HAD A CHANCE.

I have been visiting O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat for more years then I can remember. This place is amazing, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the views are amazing and there are so many walking tracks to choose from. I was lucky enough to stay here in one of the Mountain Veiw rooms in June 2019 and I couldn't reccomend staying here more. I could not fault anything. The staff were very welcoming and catered for our every need. We loved all the activities O'Reillys has on offer and we loved the room and the food!

My 2nd stay here, now have a winter and a spring experience. The rooms are comfortably appointed, with vistas. We're here in fire season, no view but still worth it. Birds and butterflies in abundance, bird feeding is full on - prepare to be swarmed; cafe and restaurant have vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

The view in our one bedroom canopy suite was amazing and beautiful. The tours, talks and activities were great and well organized. The staff are also friendly and always helpful. But the room furniture are dated and our bathroom will need some maintenances too.

Love this place for a day drive, wend away at lodge, camping and unbelievable bush walking. I use this as a base for all my bush related activities on the mountain. Environmental interaction and activities for all levels.. beginner to expert. One hour trails to 8 day walks. The lodge and accomodation are fantastic with great meals and cumfy. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend a day or a stay of any length in a heart beat.

Lovely area to visit. Feeding the birds is expensive but after the drive up there you feel let down if you don't do it!! The cafe is very expensive. As for the Restaurant it is dark & old & like the cafe also over priced.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with beautifull views and a spa bath on the deck. Amazing place. Good food at the guesthouse, big selection for the brekkie buffet.
Many great bushwalks around the area of varying distance and terrain, with plenty of wildlife, from birds to wallabies.
