Pleasant rural setting, backing on to a creek with eels, fish and turtles! Plenty of room to spread out a blanket and relax or to kick a ball or throw a frisbee. For a fee ($15, I seem to recall), you can lead one of the Alpacas(?) for a walk around the grounds or for $3 you can feed them.
Beautiful historic house serves the restaurant area and wine tasting bar. There was live acoustic music in the grounds. Service was pleasant, food was tasty and reasonable prices. Phone/cell coverage is unreliable.

Have been for the day a couple of times, and has been OK, and from the reviews, it seems to be ok/worthwhile for the day, but horrible to stay any longer than that.

Certainly did notice it being overpriced, and I felt, in need of an update to get with the times! Seems like the owners have rested on their laurels for a while too long.

Stayed at the Green Mountains camping grounds and had a really nice experience. The walking tracks close to the Retreat/camping area are very well maintained and the tree top walk was simply breath taking!

Amazing location, the drive up is about an hour but well worth it. There are a verying amounts of walk from this location from 1 hr to 8hrs! If the retreat is not for you you can camp near by for 6 dollers a night per person, just book online on the national parks website!

Me and my husband had the worst experience here. We stayed there for a night and there were cockroaches literally everywhere. Shower, bathroom, bedroom and we couldnt sleep all night because of that. There were no air conditioners, no television. Food is just average. When we tried to reach the reception at night, there was no one there so we had to adjust with the cockroaches. We left first thing in the morning. Totally not worth it. All you can enjoy is nature there. The retreat is not maintained and is not worth spending even a night in.

Amazing! Highly recommend. Great for families and young ones. So much to see and do. The activities are great and the bush walks are one of a kind. Sketchy drive up the mountain to get their though as some of the hair pins are extremely windy with a sheer drop off the side and very narrow. A must see. Will be back.

Great location and villa was good. The food was average and the restaurant is in need of restoration. They could easily keep the original wood and redecorate. With a little TLC it could easily be 5 stars.

A beautiful villa with an amazing view of the rainforest and valleys. Included with the villa was a full kitchen, deck with a tub/jacuzzi and parking spaces. We stayed in a villa with five people and had plenty of room. The retreat also offered a free bird watching tour each morning which was fantastic! We will definitely be returning!

Great location with stunning views, amazing walks, heaps of wildlife to see, decent food and catering, everything is a little pricey which is expected at a mountaintop, rainforest was beautiful and was lively despite the recent cyclone, rain meant the waterfalls were flowing but fortunately we did not encounter any leeches. Will be going again for more walking

My partner stayed the night with her girlfriends paid the deposit for the night of $100 as requested before checking in. They have failed to return the deposit back, and have failed to give any satisfactory customer service in making sure we have received our money back! Too many managers not enough good customer service!
I would definitely point anyone I know in a different direction if staying in Tamborine Mountain that s for sure!

Reading mixed reviews before coming to Oreilly's R...

Reading mixed reviews before coming to Oreilly's Retreat meant we weren't sure what to expect, but we absolutely loved it! Such warm welcoming hospitality. We listened to the managers welcome at afternoon tea which was really informative of the history of the retreat and activities which really added to the enjoyment of our stay. Our kids (3 and 8) loved it at Oreilly's and our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the glow worm tour, birds of prey show, and the flying fox. The name retreat really describes the venue well, it's not a luxury resort, but a beautiful retreat to enjoy the natural beauty of nature and relax. The breakfast spread was amazing! All staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and welcoming. It had a homestay/camp feel to the accommodation which we really missed when we left and stayed in another run of the mark hotel.
The only areas for improvement we could identify was the camp-fire and hot chocolate, turned out to be a bit of a null event and an expensive hot chocolate and 2xmarshmellows, and the beautiful infinity pool that was not heated which meant it was too cold for us to use which was disappointing (we were particularly looking forward to swimming in the pool after seeing it well advertised).
Staff and Oreilly family have a lot of pride in the retreat and location and rightly so, it's great! The staff seem to really like it there and it appeared that they are well taken care of which flowed onto the visitors. We loved it at Oreilly's, we didn't want to leave and we would love to come back again.

This place was not affected by the recent bushfire in Binna Burra. Our family had a really great time, the birds of prey show is well worthwhile, and my wife gave rave reviews of the glowworm tour. The Tree Top walk is also a must do. My only complaint would be that the pools are not heated at all and are way too cold for this rainforest environment.

Oreillys is an amazing ecotourism destination which is a part of one of 3 gandwanaland rainforests in the world. It is close to the very rare antarctic beech tree only found in these 3 rainforests. The Toolona falls track is 18km long but takes you past 25 or so waterfalls and is the most Lush rainforest you will see. Staff are all connected with the land and people and share everything.

Had a great stay! It was our first time up to O'Reilly's, we were attending a wedding. It wasn't the kind of place I would've thought to go with our 2 year old boy but It was super family friendly with lots of activities walks and sights (including the big replica plane that he loved) that kept him entertained and happy all weekend. Yes phone reception can be spotty and yes the drive up is interesting but well worth it.

The bush walks are great. The room was ok, very outdated and needed a serious facelift. The food is extremely bad. Ordered in room service and got the wrong food. They don t answer the reception phone so could not have it rectified. When at dinner there was little service from staff. We had to keep grabbing staff to finally take our orders. Very little food options on their menu as well. The whole experience has been terrible and would never recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed at O'Reilly's for a work conference for a couple of days so didn't get to do any of the activities. The villas were well equipped and comfortable, staff friendly and the food was good. The location is spectacular with wonderful rainforest, marvelous views and an abundance of wild life. A great place to relax, recharge and taste the local wines.

Love this place, over 25 walking tracks in Lamington national park, variety of levels of walking tracks.
A good amount of 5+ hour walks some over 20 kilometers long. A must do for any tourist or local. Buy a good camera because some of the lookouts are amazing, best to see a day or two after heavy rain.

This would have to be the most relaxing place on the Gold Coast. If you want to forget about the hustle along the beach then go here. The drive up to O'Reilly's is amazing. You will be shocked at the diversity from leaving the coast and finishing at O'Reilly's. The tunnel of rainforest trees for the 20 minutes drive is something special. Don't be in a hurry as the drive is slow due to the twists and turns but the view on the way up the mountain is incredible. Highly recommend staying for at least one night. The walks are great and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. If you haven't been then stop everything and make a booking right now. Staff, food and wildlife are all fantastic. Don't forget to stop at the O'Reilly's winery at the start of the drive and try the free wine tasting.

Such a beautifully peaceful place. Had a bbq lunch before wandering through the rainforest and over the treetops walk. Wandered through the gardens taking since great photos and then back to the cafe for icecream and coffee. Just be aware that the drive up and down is challenging with lots of one way areas that you have to be very careful about.

Fantastic place, connecting to a fantastic park such as the Lamington National Park. Excursions are most recommended, the park recreation areas are superbly managed by the O'Reily's teams, and make of this place a champion in its domain. Breakfasts served at the hotel are magnificent, staff is pleasant and professional. Two areas for improvement are surely the bar zone - where dining can become laborious for the long waiting time - and room cleaning, the latter also due to the intense turnover of clients, possibly.

Wonderful mountain chalet BUT:

Wonderful mountain chalet BUT:
Awful drive
Inexperienced staff perhaps foreign students? CGAF.
Wheelchair access not good on Python Rock walk despite saying it was. Took 2 hrs.
Dishwasher and bbq both malfunctioning.
No phone or internet for last 36 hrs.
Bring your own food though cafe is OK. Shop hopeless.
Overall disappointing despite amazing setting and very good villa.

Walk amongst the treetop was enjoyable, even for someone who hates heights. It was a joy to walk amongst some our old rainforest. I'd recommend it for either a day trip or a night or two in their accommodation.

Very welcoming staff at this beautiful setting in natural rain forest. Very relaxing atmosphere with interesting shows and great walks for both experienced walkers and those less able. Great food at both the bar and restaurant. All staff are really friendly and helpful. A wonderful experience.

Great getaway for flora and fauna lovers. Clean comfortable accommodation but pays to do research and wait for specials. Winter through Spring for best weather and trail condition. Hikers will love this destination. Differing levels of fitness required on trails and even a wheelchair access trail. Bar for sunset and pizza. Restaurant limited but sufficient for all but the fussy.

Magnificent. Pretty meandering drive through forest. The best value for money. Feed rosellas and King parrots for $4, see the best open air close up encounter of wild birds, including a Falcon owl and 54 year old wedge tail eagle at 1pm, in an open field with mountain backdrop. Beautiful. Food and shop very good.

Beautiful place with stunning views, about 2 hours drive give or take from brisbane. Walking trails, and a treetop walk. Some of the trials closed when here due to storm. Feel like they could develop something here for children. Cafe is ok and not super expensive

The room is very neat and roomy with a verandah that overlooks the valley. The restaurant's decor is all wood thereby the embiant is very cozy and a bit dark. May need a bit of a facelift especially the couches in the library. The seats were almost touching the floor.
