Love this place. Many fond memories of going there when my girls were under 10.
Went there again recently with my girls now in their late teens and had just as much fun.
The tree top walk is the best part.

Lady behind the counter was arguing with another customer when we walked in, and then was rude and aprupt to us (presumably because she was frustrated with her previous interaction). This did not provide a good start to the holiday which we desperately needed.

We spent the evening in the restaurant which was crowded and expensive, but no real other choice unless you fancy the dangerous drive down the mountain at night. There seemed to be kids everywhere like in the library but no adults to be seen, late at night.

The cabins were disappointing, I remember being at oreillys camping when I was young. The cabins are all clad internally and externally with varnished plywood, like a cheap canoe.

The food was good, service poor, facilities fair.

This is my 4th time at O'Reillys and I love it, the birds the lovely staff, the buffet and the rainforest. The infinity pool is one of my favorite memories of O'Reillys, the stunning view and sunset. Another memory I treasure is the beautiful rainforest, mainly the tree top walk because of the amazing view at the top of the tree. O'Reillys will be a memory of my childhood, a special place in my heart.

Pros: breakfast is awesome! Home baked beans, fresh star fruit and fresh orange juice. Daily activities are fun and worthwhile. Segways a bit expensive. The lost world spa treatment is sensational.

Cons: We killed a cockroach in our retreat room. Vodafone doesn't work here at all and wifi drops out all the time. Pools are not heated and it was freezing in August. There is a 'hot tub' but the temperature is not enough and water seems a bit dirty.

O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat (Mountain View Room)...

O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat (Mountain View Room)
Cons:
Found nails and screws lying around in the designated parking - this is simply unacceptable! Received an apology from the manager and a maintenance staff came out later with a broom to clean. No further communications from management afterwards to check if everything was alright. No assurance that if any of our tyres were punctured that they would fix at their cost, just a simple "let's will deal with it when that happens". Not good enough.
No light in the designated parking garages (they've taken the bulbs out and taped the switches down).
No table and chairs for balcony, only a two-seater bench.
Only one indoor chair in a sleep-four room.
Indoor table not flat.
Hair dryer old and sticky, plug is loose at the powerpoint - unsafe!
Bathroom door does not have enough clearance to go over the bathmat. So when you open the door the bathmat gets pushed in.
No heater in the bathroom.
Shower head is fixed, no hose, difficult to shower a child.
Power points are not well-placed around the room.
Serendipity brand handwash squirts out too little at a time, and does not lather well. Same with body wash and shampoo.
Photo in the ad shows a jacuzzi but that is of the paid entry Lost World Spa, not your room.
No bathtub.
No built-in light for mini "kitchen" in the wardrobe, so you will be making a cup of tea in your own shadow.
No built-in light for wardrobe.
No bathrobes provided (in any of the rooms according to staff).
Trees restrict view from room balcony down the valley.
Plastic kettle could do with an update.
Blanket on trundle bed had stains.
Carpet needs a good vacuuming - dusty.
Entry door difficult to close shut - pulling hard causes a loud bang which could potentially wake your neighbours up (Room 35 - check it out).
Entry door too easy for a child to open from the inside, not childproof!!
No microwave available to guests (pretty much forced to eat at the restaurants there).
Buffet breakfast overpriced ($35 full with hot food, $22 for Continental no hot food).
Restaurant food overpriced, starts from $40 upwards (get food from upstairs bar instead).
Outdoor mini pools dirty, not maintained(weather is cold but shouldn't they still be kept clean?)
Not everyone drinks alcohol, so a welcome coffee instead of wine/beer as alternative would be good.
Staff are just friendly enough but won't go out of the way for you.
Some front desk staff won't even make eye-contact let alone greet you.
Mini mart is expensive.
Gift shop merchandise - very expensive (e.g. $120 for O'Reilly's logo doormat).
Two coffee machines for complimentary morning/Arvo tea but only one available to use, long waits.
Pros:
Good view from balcony but restricted by some trees
Undercover parking right beneath room, handy (but be wary of loose nails and screws)
Ample bedding
Good hot water for shower
Ample towels
Quiet and peaceful
Great hearing the birds singing in the morning.
Icecream and coffee at the shop was good.
Oil heater works well in the room (but no heater in the bathroom)
Plantation doors/blinds block out enough light for a good sleep-in.
Complimentary morning/afternoon tea provided for in-house guests (but food is very limited, not enough for everyone and forget about going for seconds).
Lactose-free milk(and soy) and decaf coffee available as options for morning and afternoon tea.
Bar food is pretty decent for price.
Excellent bartender - friendly and patient.
This place makes me feel as a customer that they are only interested in money making, the customer gets minimal benefits and sub-par service. Would have to think twice before staying here again.

This is a great place who really want to explore the deep rain forest in QLD. You must experience the 20km border trail walking. when you walk through out bush trails, you might feel the ancient spirit around you and it's like you are doing meditation while you are walking. be careful while you're swimming in creeks and falls , there're Lamington cray fish and snakes around water here. you required Grade 3-4 hiking skills. Ankle boots, snake protection gear and first-aid kit recommended, before you start your hiking in this range.

Road there is slightly difficult and dangerous but well worth the effort. Walks are nice with good views especially the tree top walk. Plenty of picnic tables and grass to relax on. Makes for a nice day out

Great views. The roads heading out there during October 18 are a bit rough due to the roads getting repaired but worth the trip up there.

The tree top bridges are fun and the view from the very top climb up 2 sets of ladders is brilliant.

I ve been multiple times to o reilly s and I m always surprised just how long it takes to get here. The road is narrow and windy and you soon get car sick.

The appeal used to be the treetop walk, but it hasn t changed in 20 years+. It is a series of seven suspended bridges.

It would be nice if they added to this as after a 2 hour drive there isn t that much to do once you get up there (there are a number of activities you can pay for)

The cafe shuts at 2:30pm which is odd and somewhat disappointing.

The views are excellent and there are of course many other rainforest walks to do. But for me this place just is too far to drive.

My partner and I stayed at O'Reilly's for two nights (the two night autumn package) and were both really excited for a mini break away. My partner also works at a zoo so was also looking forward to the wildlife activities and being out in nature.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with our stay, and even considered leaving on our second night. Both animal activities (encounter plus show) were cancelled due to a sick bird requiring assistance, which is understandable although back-up staff might be valuable. We did take up the offer of doing the glow warm tour instead (no extra charge). Our other activity, the sunset tour, also didn't happen as we were told to meet at 6pm by several staff, however at 6.15, after waiting for 30min, we asked reception and were told it had left at 5.30pm (with 7 of the 20 guests). Staff, including the manager, were unclear as to what had happened. We were left feeling deflated, having paid for items in our package and missing out on what we had come here for. Later in the evening we were offered 1x complimentary three course meal, however declined this as this meant paying another $65 (plus beverages) when we could have purchased two meals and drinks at the bar for a lot less. We informed staff that we would eat at the bar instead and the waitor stated that he would remove this from our bill still, respecting the offer. When we paid at the end of our stay it had not been removed, and took a whole of explaining again to have this removed.

More wildlife activities would be great, and extras added to the packages as what we paid for was a lot for what we got. Everything up here also costs a lot - which was another downer after missing out on other activities.

On the positive, the walks were great, including the Tree Top walk and morning bird walk. The buffet breakfast was also good and the bar staff and food were fantastic (shout out to the NZ staff who were very welcoming and friendly).

While we won't be returning, I hope improvements can be made as it really is a great opportunity for those wanting a break away.

The retreat is located within the national park, not too much signage. Maybe a bit too pricey for the quality of the rooms, but there's plenty to do and see. We attended a function at the centre there, the retreat should definitely organise a lift/bus between the two spots as the walking path late at night is too far, and pretty average.

Just a short drive from Brisbane, this is a great option for a weekend away. The walks are lovely and quite a few options available. Food in the upstairs bar area is good - try one of the pizzas.
