Nice hotel. Great location. For some reason they did not clean our room one-day. We we're out for the day.

Spacious, nice rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location. Delicious breakfast

3 weeks there and we felt like home. Not many hotels can say that. Thank all the staff that made our stay so nice.

Great hotel, fantastic location. We stayed here 18 months ago and it just gets better.

Room was a dive. Nothing like the pictures. Walls were marked and dirty. Checkin was slow. I was promised a ph call when room would be ready. never called. Luggage was not even in room as advised from checkin. Futher 30 min delay for luggage!

Good location, room slightly on the small side (paid extra for a a deluxe king room). City view nothing special. Friendly staff. Overall good but not amazing.

Great location in the CBD. The building itself is quite nice and the staff was wonderful. I can't think of anything to complain about.

The room we last had was the best as it had an internal outlook. Staff ever helpful whether on the street, at breakfast, cleaning a room or at reservations.

Rooms are ok, on a clean scare of 1-10 I'd rate it a 6, breakfast is expensive, gym is ok, kinda dirty.

Highly recommended hotel with very comfortable rooms, and a delicious continental breakfast buffet, Being close to the CBD is a close walk public transport, so it is easy to go anywhere in Melbourne.

Swimming pool rather small for adults to do any swimming at all. The rooms are nice and comfortable but hope they will do a refurbishment in the next couple of years as I have stayed at the hotel about 5 or 6 years ago and the place could definitely have a new fresh feeling to it

Check in was quick, all staff members were efficient, helpful and courteous. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. I would return.

It wasn't entirely clear how valet parking worked, ie were to park etc, and the place out the front of the hotel was full so I parked on the taxi rank.

Also received a late bill for some minibar expenses, but I hadn't used the minibar. Was able to clear this up quickly on the phone.

Comfortable surroundings, lovely food, excellent service

This was our 4th stay at the Novotel on Collins as a family as we love how friendly the staff are and the location in Melbourne. This last stay was however somewhat disappointing. The room was nice and neat and the bed all made for our daughter and the fluffies all laid out which is nice. That said the floor/carpet was quite dirty and really needed a good vacuum there were pieces of tissue around the main bed. On Saturday morning the shower had limited warm water and no pressure which didn't make for a great start to the day.
We do like the Novotel and we will stay there again when we are back in Melbourne next month and are staying at the Novotel in Singapore in July.

we found the experience at the Novotel on Collins as a relaxing and fun time. The concierge on arrival Jonathon was excellent and explained all we needed to know about parking our vehicle and luggage to room. We had completed check in online and found this an excellent service receiving an email stating they were expecting us and our room key was ready at the reception desk. Emily on reception check in was very friendly and helpful.The room was clean and spacious for our stay. The food was delicious and bar staff were friendly.

The front entrance on the ground floor is a bit deceiving and does well in setting your expectations low as it's dingy and rather tired looking. However once you go up to level 3, you are pleasantly surprised that there is a real reception with a proper lobby and you heave a sigh of relief that the hotel is not like the ground floor lift lobby. Your emotions are then toyed with again as you take the elevator and walk through the hospital like sterile white corridor to your room, which then in all fairness is decent, with updated furnishings. Overall, I got a decent night's rest although the tram was a but noisy till about 12am.

I have stayed at quite a few Novotel hotels across the globe but must say this one was a big disappointment. To begin with it was quite difficult to navigate to the room itself and depending in which room you find yourself in it could be a long windy journey. The room itself was barely lit and i felt like moving into a cave or den. There were no complimentary bottles of water, no USB charging points, air conditioning was noisy, the shower alternated between very hot and very cold water every few seconds regardless of the fact that I had it on hot water.

On the positives, and there are few the hotel is at a very good location, close to tram stop and offices.

Considering I paid quite a fair bit to stay here I would certainly not repeat the mistake.

We had a lovely stay, our room was brilliant...so comfortable and well appointed. Check in and check out was smooth and professional. Breakfast was delicious. We look forward to returning,

Spent the weekend at the Novotel on the 11/7/15 was not informed about the construction work going on in the shopping plazza below over the period of our stay which is extremely disappointing as they started at 7 am on the Saturday morning, so if you are thinking of staying at the Novotel i would find out about the construction works first

This hotel is an ideal location in the centre of Melbourne. I was there to attend conference and cannot fault the service, food, etc. over the 3 days and nights of my stay, however because the room was sealed (windows that didn't open), and the air conditioner had a mind of its own (seemed to be programmed between 18 degrees c overnight -22 daytime despite my attempts to alter settings), I did not get the quality of sleep I normally get at home where the room is a lot cooler. The room also lacked the usual charging ports (ie USB, etc) you would expect to find in a hotel in this price range. Despite that the rooms are quite spacious, the decor tasteful, and the staff mostly friendly.

It's okay. The hotel bar is respectable. The rooms are cool too. The location is super cool to sample the city. However, I expect bars to have great music but this one did not and I obviously raised it with the staff.

Nice and central to everything. Beds and pillows too hard. Could do with pillow toppers on bed and softer pillows.
Staff and facilities very good, and breakfast was yummy.

room was cleaned poorly first day. 2nd day wasn't even done, a note was left to say 'it was policy not to touch any guests items to clean' yet the rubbish bins weren't even emptied. 2nd night/morning I lost sleep because of a rattling ducted aircon vent and when I mentioned to the manager I didn't want to be charged for the night because of the inconvenience she said that it had happened before and because I didn't call reception in the middle of the night (and have maintenance people work on it) Novotel didn't have the opportunity to fix it there for couldn't be expected give me a refund on the night.

Booked months in advance and arrived at 3pm on a Saturday to find there was no room ready. Also asked for a view as it was girlfriend's 21st birthday and the room we got faced another building.... Fantastic

I always stay at the Novotel on Collins when in Melbourne. The staff are delightfully welcoming and the hotel is central to all attractions.

Experienced issues with Air conditioning in the room during my stay.

It was a lovely stay. Our room was clean and well maintained during our time there. The location was excellent and the staff professional but friendly.
The only room complaint we would share is the rooms are dark....not enough lighting although the bathroom was good.
The other issue which all of us commented on was the cold cooked breakfast. Although there was steam coming out of the water under the dishes, it did little to keep the food hot.

Took advantage of a deal through Accor and stayed two nights. Staff were friendly enough but the hotel and was very unclean and so was the pool. Room was a bit small but room service was good.

Novotel staff think they own the main road and aggressive. Telling people to move vehicle so they can use the parking for themselves after hitting my car. Complaint to management and nothing happens. The same staff was happy to inform me that no consequences for him to scratch my car and for verbal abusing me. And manager name is ALMROTT Emlyn - NOVOTEL Melbourne on Collins

It was so painful that it woke her up.

I went to the concierge to book a shuttle bus a day before but the bus never showed up and it was too late to call a taxi I had to changed our flights. Maybe it was just a miss communication.

Overall it was a pleasant experience staying at the hotel.

Comfortable Bed, quiet room with great ventilation. Shower had great hot water pressure.

Decent hotel and excellent location, amazing staff and service. The rooms can be a bit small, the king beds are two mattresses pushed together, the pool and gym are also quite small.<br/>The worst part is the internet, I needed to work out of the hotel room daily for a week and the standard complimentary internet was too slow to even browse pages so I was tethered to my phone. As I began to run low on data I enquired with the staff who tried their best to fix the problem including giving me complimentary premium internet which is usually $15 per day (I think). This was still quite slow and VERY inconsistent with frequent drop outs. After spending half a day trying to fix these problems I resorted to spending an additional $100 on mobile data as 4g is far more steady and fast than the internet here. (end rant).

I felt the healthy food options were really limited for dinner. On multiple occasions I had to ring to chase up breakfast. I also noticed that whilst my bed was made there were a couple of days my bathroom was not cleaned

We were in the conference room for dinner team building activities and it was a nice space. Had a catered lunch which was also pleasant

Comfortable. Nice big room and modern bathroom with free WiFi. Mini bar was a bit overpriced (especially for water) but I guess you pay for the convienience. I had breakfast in my room which was average. The coffee was almost undrinksble (pretty bad for Melbourne). Check out was slow as my breakfast invoice hadn t been applied to the invoice so we had to wait for it to be applied.

Everything was great except parking. There is no designated parking area for check in, just a few parking spots along the street in front of the hotel, and they were occupied by a fire truck when we first passed the hotel. It took us half an hour struggling in the crazy streets of CBD before we managed to get back to the hotel. A hotel person helped us take out our luggage then took the car. After that, everything was a breeze.

Great seminar room, though the breakout space following the presentation was quite small for lunch and networking. Great catering!

Easy to find on Collins St, close to train stations and trams allowing easy access to come and go. The room was great, everything I expected, clean, tidy well heated. The bed was really comfortable. Buffett breakfast had a great variety and good quality and wasn't too busy at 7am. Barista made coffee was a wonderful addition.

Had a two night stay at Novotel on Collins. Great location in the city. Breakfast was lovely and personal service great. But, parking is atrocious. Toured around for 40 minutes before finding parking. Could not get close enough to the Novotel to use their valet parking.. Went to use their small cold pool, even a 40 degree day could not make it inviting.

Nice place to stay in downtown of Melbourne. Staff is very nice and friendly and always eager to help. Breakfast is having lots of verities. It attached to a mall. It is around 4 blocks away from the main railway station.

The staff at the Novotel on Collins provide a top quality exceptional service. I stayed at the hotel for a conference and I was so impressed with all aspects of the service at the hotel. The rooms were well appointed, staff friendly and personable and went above and beyond. The conference I attended was well managed and the food and drinks were plentiful and always ready.

Excellent, This hotel is looking great. Breakfast was a little chaotic (minor) but it was Easter so all things considered ....excellent. We stay in Novotel relatively often and thought the hotel very well maintained and the fit out superior.

Location is excellent, very convenient, I would give it 5 stars if it does get a renovation, rooms are older, also you need 2 set of lifts to get to your room but besides that it's awesome

An enjoyable experience. However, gym and swim pool was not what I expected. I thought that the gym would be more well equipped and swimming pool would be larger. Overall the service was marvelous.

The room I received was well below par, it was like a room out of IBIS. Once I spoke to reception, they got me a new room in a speedy time. The room I eventually got was up to my standards. Love the gym.

On a bad note, the hotel did not seem very welcoming throughout my stay.
