My grandma has been living at Overlook Green for the past several months. We have been so grateful for the care she is receiving and it has been fun to watch her enjoy the activities, the staff, and the other residents.
She has said she feels she is "part of a little family" there. The staff has gone above and beyond not only by meeting her care needs but also making it an enjoyable environment for her to be a part of.

They scammed my neighbor, they take advantage of the vulnerable elderly for their money. I'm sure the care givers in the building are nice if you plan on having a family member stay for long term, but if you have a loved one that is actively dying don't call them. They will trick you into signing a contract. Don't do it, call around. Same exact thing as the other guy who wrote a 1 star review. Very sad how these cooperations make thousands of dollars when they know the person going to die there will only be there for a few days but charge them $800 for the 4 days they were there and an additional $4,500 for an additional month when the person wasn't even alive for that month. Unbelievable.

My mother-in-law has been at Overlook Green for about 9 months. My husband (her son) and I have been very impressed with the care that she receives here. She seems happy and comfortable, which speaks volumes because she had gone straight from her own home of over 50 years into a totally new and unfamiliar environment. The staff is caring, personable, responsive, and kind. They have gone above and beyond during the Coronavirus pandemic, giving us the added reassurance that all is being done to keep our loved one safe. The staff at Overlook Green are true heroes!

My grandmother was a resident at Overlook Green for a year or so and during that time during visits my grandmother seemed to be doing ok there. We had the occasional call from Overlook staff complaining about my grandmother's occasional bad mood, but mostly it was fine. About 3 weeks ago, because of 1 complaint made by another resident's family member, Overlook Green mangement and staff decided that the best care for my grandmother with moderate dementia was to kick her out of their facility. Long story short, my family tried to talk and meet numerous times with the staff and management at Overlook to no avail.; they succeeded and my grandmother has been removed and placed in another home, per their recommendation, in a home nearby to what Overlook advised 'was best for a dementia patient [like my grandmother]'. Its been 2 weeks since my displaced grandmother has been in this 'Overlook-recommended' home and she has fallen twice and been hospitalized both times, been drugged to where she cannot eat or talk to my family any longer, and now has pneumonia and will start hospice next week. So if you're asking if I recommend Overlook Green, I do not. We apparently had the wool pulled over our faces in the beginning because Overlook has shown their true colors.

My mother has been a resident at Overlook Green for the past eight months and I am so grateful for the genuinely kind, caring, and compassionate staff that provide her with excellent care every day. The activities that take place every day are creatively well planned and organized,so enjoyable for her to participate in, by a staff that truly exhibit authentic care and concern for all of the residents. She always has a nice story to tell of what went on during the day! My mother states that she feels like the employees and the residents together create a real family atmosphere. I am thankful for the peace of mind that I experience everyday knowing she is so well cared for. Thank you!

My mother moved in last month. Already she has come so far. The care and activities have been wonderful for her. She use to sleep too much during the day and would be up all night. They have worked very hard with her to keep her up and engaged. Now she is on a normal schedule and sleeps soundly through the night. YEAH! GOOD JOB to everyone. Any concerns i have had i bring to their attention and they handle it professionally. Its a very positive environment. This change has been wonderful for my mother, i visit her on a regular basis and look forward to every visit. Thanks to everyone at Overlook Green for making this such a positive experience. I truly appreciate it. P.S. the food is very good.

My father was there for 2 months. During that time he went from being able to walk, talk, dress himself, and manage his personal hygiene to being severly dehydrated, emaciated, going into renal failure, developing a stage 3 open wound and catching Covid-19. My father was finally sent to an ER, and we were told that he was within days of death. We requested his room belongings, and found that he still had his 2-months past admission date written on his wipe-off board, so he had no idea of the month or day. No one hung his calendar or pictures or cork boards, even though we were told such things would be done. We brought him a telephone with large buttons, and it was still in the box. The day that he was admitted be had to wait 30 minutes for assistance in the bathroom. We thought that was an anomaly. From what we've seen in my dad's decline, negligence is standard operating procedure. We contacted the corporate office only to be given the run around. The call center representatives will tell you that you'll be connected to a "gold star" representative. What actually happens is that you are connected to voice mail and no one returns your call. This nightmarish facility is run by 5 Star. That name is misleading. It should be "Death Star."

Staff is great, atmosphere warm, mom is no longer sitting in her room and food is great. There is no perfect assisted living place but this comes close. They actually have eye doctor and dentist that will come there. Saved me a lot of anguish to have the dentist come in and re line her teeth. They really have it down and work to improve. My mom was in another place which will go unnamed and I wish that I had moved her to Overlook sooner. I kept thinking I shouldn't change, that it would be disruptive, but it was one problem after another. I was always putting out fires and the staff was constantly changing so I had to start over again with each new person. 3 and 1/2 years later I finally moved mom to OG. What a blessing! Highly recommend Overlook Green.

I was scouring western PA and OH and WV for a location that would take my 250LB plus Father. Theresa was a godsend. She helped us reassured us that our decision was the right fit for us. Made the paperwork easy and even said she was going out on her personal time to buy the correct sheet set needed for him. Amazing angels!

Placed my father in Overlook Green and when he died a week later I requested my security deposit back (as their contract stated I was entitled to get it back) and the manager told me, and I quote,( wow I can't believe you caught that your the first one to ever catch that)! He then went on to say you have to contact the main corporate office to get that refunded. When I did that they said you have to contact the local office. After re-contacting the same manager at overlook green he stopped taking my calls. At this point it was more than 30 days and knowing the law if you are not notified within 30 days in writing why a security deposit is not being refunded you can go to the courts and request two times the amount. When I called Overlook Green for my final attempt to get my security deposit returned I told the woman who answered my call (and would not connect me to the manager) that if they didn't have a check for me that same day I would take them to the majistrate and get twice the amount back. I received a call back and was told the check was waiting for me! So here's a company ripping people off when they are old and in distress don't use this place!
Just saw their response and that is a ridiculous response! I was dealing with the director! He kept blowing me off and wouldnt give me my security deposit back until i threatened to take them to the majistrate. This was many years ago and other than them trying to steal our security deposit i cant complain about the care, although my father was only there a week before he died. Maybe the guy stealing security deposits is gone! Good luck!!

Throughout the process of finding a memory care residence for a family member, all of my interactions with the team at Overlook Green have been extremely positive. They have been caring, knowledgable, responsive, informative, and understanding. Their memory care residence is new, and includes lovely, secure outdoor space. Ultimately, I discovered that our family member was eligible for a veteran's residence, but we would have been very pleased to have them reside at Overlook Green.

My mom is well taken care of and the staff is very friendly and caring and do a great job. She comes to my home for the day and dinner one day each weekend and is genuinely happy. I am very glad I chose Overlook Green to provide the personal care she needs. She's very happy, comfortable and still maintains some independence.

My mom has been a resident at Overlook now for about two months now. The difference in her has been night and day. She always compliments how nice everyone is there and how wonderful the food is. She has gone through quite a transition and I hope this helps all who read this...it was a great decision. I visit often and have never witnessed anything other than compassion and care. She has her independence again with the van taking her to and from her appointments and has nothing but good things to say about Ed, the driver. Great work, Overlook!

The care my Mother has received has been top notch. All staff in all positions are kind and caring. The memory unit staff are especially loving. They have made a huge difference in my Mother's emotional well being. I would without any doubt recommend Overlook Green. I would like to especially recognize: Kathy from housekeeping, Deborah Stetzer, Denine Dominowski and Jill Loeffler.
