Novotel Maastricht Review

Most unreliable hotel ever, called at 6 PM for a room with a bath, according to Ms that was possible and that was not a problem. It was 210 km for us. Upon entering, the gentleman at the reception was very antisocial and asked me 5x to pay by credit card while I already said 5x that I don't have one, then I offered to pay him in cash and then we got comments like 'we are not tired of lives here'. Then I asked if our room is with bath and Mr. angry / irritated answers that this room is not available and that his colleague has not arranged this properly. He also tried to sell us a standard room for the price of a room with a bath.

Never go again, we left at 11 pm and checked in at 11:30 at Fletcher hotel Sittard!

The conference room has lots of amenities, Beamer was present that was water for everybody, they even had candy in little pots. The coffee was good, the lunch was excellent and overall I was satisfied with the venue.

I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful immediately when I asked something. The location is apparently perfect the light within walking distance of the city and it is not too busy here at night

Rooms ok the rest more a snack than a restaurant and no one to speak french

This Novotel could gain in notoriety and quality, by improving certain points of comfort and catering.

The proximity of the Maastrich TEFAF is not enough to gain the confidence of tourists, especially since the prices are high.
The morning breakfast is not of exceptional quality .. and the food offered is quite mediocre ..

In the evening, a lot of waiting at the restaurant to be served .. staff problems perhaps explain this long unjustified wait .. The evening we were there, a person from the Reception came to help out his colleague .. with a lot of kindness and goodwill.

Nothing to say about the delicious meals .. and invigorating, particularly the meats .. and the desserts
Parking management needs to be reviewed. It is not practical and poses difficulties on rainy days, and on cold and windy days ... (very frequent in March)

A good point, the comfort of the rooms, spacious, bright, very clean .. The mattress is .. Royal !! The bathroom. well appointed and practical .. The atmosphere at the Bar is lively and the cocktails tasty

A small recovery in hands .. (gently), this hotel would be enough to make it more attractive ... Traveler's advice

A very nice hotel. We had a nice well-kept room, the staff have always been very jovial and well helped and also decent food for the price in the hotel with sublime room service. on top of that there is a shuttle service that brings you to the inner city so only positive experiences to report about this beautiful hotel.

Decent hotel with a good location on the outskirts. There is a large lounge, with a spacious bar. Nice staff welcome you directly on arrival, there is a large car park, but it is chargeable.

Paid private parking, shuttle from the hotel to the center of Maastricht, unfortunately our room was near the noisy technical room in the morning from 08:00.
The bathroom a bit small and no hanger to dry the towels.
The breakfasts are plentiful and varied and the restaurant produces good food.
Located 9 km from valkenburg and its Christmas market in Grotte ...

Had booked a room here to visit Andre Rieu's concert. Room was good and the Vrijthof was within walking distance.

Just a pity that the prices were considerably higher than normal because of the concerts.

Good welcome, good cleaning service, kitchen ok, breakfast wide choice, swimming pool appreciated by the children, child friendly, standard room is of course standard, otherwise you need to upgrade, friendly staff, permanent carpet urgently needs replacement because a stain puzzle

Had a great stay at Novotel. Rooms fine. breakfast, lunch and dinner well cared for.
Very friendly and personal staff. Especially a lot of admiration for the restaurant staff who worked hard with few staff and could admit that a mistake had been made.

Very helpful lady on reception, was always polite and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable. Only stopped one night on our way through travelling through Europe, but a pleasant stay. They also have a free "taxi" into the city centre, which was a nice touch.

The hotel is neat. Simple but good. Rooms are slightly dated, but they are clean. What was a shame during our stay that the rooms are not cleaned in the meantime. In our opinion, this has nothing to do with the corona policy. Don't these rooms have to be cleaned when checking out? We regularly stay in a hotel, both for leisure and business, this measure has never been applied in the hotels we visited. In our opinion it had something to do with austerity ....
Other than that it was okay, but not worth repeating.

So where are the 4 stars? Odors in the bathroom, the shower which normally is thermostatic does not work well and you have hot water then cold water and hot water !! As for the restaurant service is deplorable, we waited 1 hour to have our first dish! (our order was not printed on the right printer !! ) in the morning for breakfast we waited as we do in all the hotels we check our room number and that we place and the person !! Everyone sits and does what he wants! Hotel far from the center of Maastricht !!

We stayed over a weekend and for that time period it was okay. Would't recommend a stay for a longer time.

Good hotel and good food a bit dated but friendly staff

We had a great stay at Novotel Maastricht with our family. I chose this hotel because it's always very family friendly. Enough activities to keep the kids busy, like the pool and the playground inside and outside. The Covid-19 rules were very clear and the staff really did what they could do to explain and keep everyone safe within the guidelines.
Our room was very neat, had all the necessities for a comfortable stay and the beds (and pillows!) are just perfect!! The staff placed an extra (baby) bed for our 2yo and made sure that our family had to rooms next to each other. They were also very helpful when we had an issue with our shower. It was immediately taken care off. Very good to know about the rooms is that there is almost no noise from other rooms or outside. Feels like it is very well isolated.
Breakfast is very good, everything you want to have to start your day with.
Due to the covid-19 rules we unfortunately couldn't have dinner at one table with the whole family so we decided not to, but otherwise we would have.
Maastrichts centre is quite close, we could've rented bikes to get there but because of the kids we took the car. Everything feels very close and nearby and the surrounding of Maastricht is just beautiful!
So nothing to complain. The only thing I can think of that I think could be done differently is paying a daily price for the parking lot. And it would be really perfect if they had a welcoming note with your name upon arrival in your room. That would just be that little extra. Apart from that we had a perfect stay, very friendly staff, good food, nice to sit outside with a drink or to take a dip in the pool, all with a nice green surrounding. Based on our experience, we would love to come back here!

Outside looks a bit old and dated but inside really very pleasant, good staff, garden with decent pool, wished i'd stay here longer.

novotel maastricht is a very good hotel reception was good dog was also welcome good and spacious rooms clean the carpet could be replaced someday very spacious bathroom food evening nice but for the big hunger just wa little the breakfast buffet something for everyone tasty and lots and fresh 1 minus shuttle bus is free to drive to the city but to come back you have to either call a taxi + - 11euro or with the bus 3 euros pp or on foot + -30min but for the rest certainly a recommended mvg manu

A fine hotel in all ways for the price you pay. Especially the shuttle to the city is pleasant. One small note; toothbrush is not standard included in the room, we forgot ours and got one from the reception (the last one).

Nice room. Extra towels available. Everything clean. Breakfast buffet is very good and extensive. In addition, an excellent dinner in the restaurant. 10 to 15 minutes walk from the central station

Novotel is located around 15 minutes from Maastricht train station on foot. Hotel is nice meeting rooms for business events and meetings. The rooms are equipped with projectors and boards to write on. WiFi is good too.

Very friendly hotel staff. Rooms outdated and could use a standard Novotel makeover. Location is a 20 minute walk outside of the city and to the central train station. There's a small playground for kids in the garden and a swimming pool which was currently closed. The area is quiet so nice to sleep with your window open. There's free parking directly behind the hotel on the muddy field. Along the streets and on the hotel property itself it is paid parking. I received a free welcome drink and free portion of bitterbals which was a really nice surprise.

Rather average and in my opinion a bit over priced even at the advanced discount rate. A little annoying to pre pay and get a bill on checking out for "tourist tax"". Will not be returning. Shame as I like the brand.

Our 2 day stay was wonderful! Clean room, incredibly friendly Staff, delicious dinner and breakfast, not to mention a beautiful terrace with swimming pool!

Nice reception. Extra doors in the room for the quiet. Too bad that children are still allowed to run through hallways and play football in the room above you. Depends more on parents than hotel. Coffee milk over code is not allowed .. too bad

Great hotel situated a little outside the city centre but had a free shuttle service to ot . The rooms were large and very comfortable as were the beds and the breakfasts were very good with a good selection of dishes hot and cold . Staff were friendly and professional a nice hotel

Nice hotel, pleasantly received. Beautiful superior room recently renovated. Breakfast is good, although some of the bread is a bit dry. The other foods are delicious and well replenished. We have booked for 50 euros per night including breakfast, with the additional This is a fair amount and you end up around 75 per night. For that price a must. Walking to the edge of the center Is about 15 minutes.

Good hotel in accor style. A bit old and a bit far away from town centre. They have a shuttle bus but it only seats 8 and runs on the hour but only till 18.00. Descent breakfast.

The rooms were a bit small but clean. Near the tram passes. If you are traveling by car to visit in your ederim.arac recommend that you choose a car, I suggest you visit the center by putting a car park.

Service is hard to find in this hotel, Asian man at the bar with glasses is the epitome of totally non-service oriented and not child-friendly, he does not radiate that he likes their work.
Even if you order something from him or ask him for something, he prefers to ignore you .. seen and experienced with several people.
My son had hurt himself in pool the last day from something sharp .. his toe was bleeding badly.
He immediately went in on his own initiative to ask for a first aid kit but came across the Asian man as 1st and asked him only what he got with difficulty was a napkin then he cleared the blood and left my son in the lobby with a very bleeding toe he just did not help him further..my other son came to tell me and I immediately went in and heard from my children that he was not being helped further I went to the reception to ask for a first aid kit worked there
Friday afternoon a blonde girl at the reception and she is the only one who made the effort for him.
Bowl of water for rinsing .. disinfection spray .. and plasters she immediately brought ..
That is service, but she is also the only one who has provided the service.
Most of them walk around there with grumpy heads..few staff too.
Wednesday evening I had to beg 4 a5 x at the reception for 2 extra pillows .. and indicated that our telephone in the room did not work, they still have to come for the 3dgn that we were there there is no one for the phone been.
Breakfast is not great .. almost black croissants .. hard baking buns that have been in the oven for too long, making them very hard.
Breakfast is 19euro p.p sorry but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get.
Many rooms in the hotel and only 8 to 10 sunbeds by the pool.
Around the pool it seems like you are in a jungle .. so many bushes and many wasps.
Next to the jungle is a lawn with ping-pong table and swing etc for the kids that lawn does not look like they have not done anything with it for years .. so you cannot lie there in the grass but that seems like whether you are lying on hay among the ant hills.
Unfortunately, maintenance is not done there.
We had been to Novotel Eindhoven for 2 weeks with great pleasure and wanted to go a little further in the Netherlands so thought it would be nice to go to Maastricht .. after calling Novotel Maastricht by phone, it turned out to be more expensive than Eindhoven but it was a holiday and wanted With the kids also doing something in the Limburg area and with a swimming pool so after our conversation on the phone we thought let's just do it because we were told that you could not compare Novotel Eindhoven with Novotel Maastricht and that it was therefore more expensive etc.
So yes, something promises ... if that is said by the supervisor in Maastricht.
All in all it was indeed not comparable with Eindhoven.
Novotel Maastricht is many times different in a negative sense.
So you pay more for that.

Really bad experience! I didn t see anything worthy 139 euros. On the website it says a double bed, but it was actually just two single beds putting together. In the room it was hard to breathe, we had to keep the window open all the time, but the hotel is just next to the highway, so it was really noisy. It says a 4 stars hotel, but when you go there, it s not really like that tho. I could ve been to a better place with same budget.

Great hotel. The food was. Good. Too bad that on Sunday evenings can not use the restaurant to eat. Mattresses were good. And the room was neat. Hopefully next time.

Had a great dinner with a networking group recently. The room where a conference or meeting is normally held was transformed into a dining room. Very nice atmosphere, beautiful decoration of the room and tables. You didn't feel like you were in a room. We dined at a high level!
This is also possible at the Novotel in Maastricht!

Novotel is a great hotel for families. Great family rooms and a swimming pool for the children. There is a Playstation and a table football game. Lovely lounge where you can have a drink.

4 course dinner eaten here, nice to watch in the open kitchen while your food is being prepared, everything is good in taste and otherwise fine.

A nice hotel with fantastic service and very friendly staff. We enjoyed a nice clean room. If you want to go to the center there is a shuttle bus. Highly recommended.
