Keeping the dream of freaky independent radio alive!
Went to drop off my donation form and pick up a few CDs. Love the music they play on 89.9 fm
Great electic radio station. DJ's programme their own shows. Listener Sponsored. 1975- to date
Amazing eclectic selection of music. Everyone in Madison should support this station. I'm on the radio reception fringe- but I can listen on line. I'm a proud supporter.
The home office, nerve center, and mothership of the greatest independent radio station the universe, or at least the state of Wisconsin, has ever known. If Madison truly is, "30 square miles surrounded by reality," that's due in no small part to the leavening inspiration provided by WORT's listener-powered community radio. For excellence, breadth, and depth of programming, not to mention civic mindedness, every municipality should be so lucky.
Thanks for broadcasting & hearing my interview ! --- Avinash Patil, MANS.
The only real community radio station in Madison (the other possibility is the college station). There's always something interesting when I tune in, from jazz to obscure metal, gospel to hip-hop, Democracy Now to The Hour of Slack. And all sorts of other shows. There's a schedule, but I kinda like just turning it on and being surprised.
i work here! real chill, good politics, good vibes.
I'm biased, but damn do I love this weird, beautiful corner of the FM dial.
The staff is super awesome! Keep up the good work in the community!
WORT 89.9 is a Madison gem. Community radio is unusual, in that anyone with an idea can put together their very own radio show. How good is that?
Wort is the best little community radio station in the world 24 7
This is a great community-based radio station. We were there today to be with the amazing Chris Powers "Mud Acres".
