We stayed at the novotel for 1 night for a day in Maastricht. Really recommended. Perfect service. Very friendly staff. If you want to go to the center there is a shuttle bus. We went to the center which was also good to do. Breakfast also very good. Nothing to complain about.

Friendly welcome and neat rooms with laminate. The swimming pool is also accessible to local residents, which makes relaxing after a hard day's work less peaceful
Very close to downtown and with buses to get closer to the city. The rooms are very good and have everything. Upon arrival you will have to pay the city tax.
Good hotel with nice services (bar, breakfast). We had a junior suite which we got after an upgrade. Room was nice and had enough space. Hotel is located right next to the freeway
A bit tired and more the feel of a budget family hotel (including paper cups and plastic glasses), than a modern 4 star hotel. A bit far from city center. But nice staff, nice small garden with pool and decent restaurant. On the weekend we visited, the hotel was host to a spring sports car rally, which meant a great deal of commotion and noice. But also fun to watch and it was overall a plus for us.
Very large hotel with all the services one would expect from a Novotel, except perhaps a welcome that gives you the bare minimum of information and a bit cold staff (does this come from the fact that we are French ?). This hotel is about a 30-minute walk from the city center (because it's not worth it to drive there since many streets are pedestrianized and parking costs a blind), but it does organize shuttles free which unfortunately ends much too early since it is until 6pm. The reception of the hotel may suggest that you take a taxi which should normally cost 9 for a one-way trip (that's what he tells you), while strangely it cost us 18 ... ah these tourists !!!!
We are frequently world travellers sometimes depending on the offers ,reviews and type of transport we book hotels with parking area.. So was the case of Novotel Maastricht.
Positive Impressions The welcoming from 2 adorable young recepcionists from which I don't have unfortunately their names but they were at the Hotel at the 1rst of January 2019 ...(so please award them).
2nd An amazing Housekeeping LUCY giving all the informations and taking care of the rooms like nowhere else except from Dubai and Bangkok.. We even thought she was Housekeeping manager perfect englisch and extrem efficient..
A great help from MITCHELL at the recepcion after the bad things HAPPENED
Now to the Hotel as itself Great location Big and comfortable rooms Good breakfast options Good amenities // Acceptable prices Comfortable beds /Lounge Clean Restrooms and shuttle bus service
BAD THINGS BAD EXPERIENCE The Housekeeping manager JAN knock our door and opened it without waiting to any response even if the DO NOT DISTURB badge was hanging on the door..After the issue he said he wanted to check the fridge to see if there is one bottle of water ..Which is for their jobs but it was inappropiate from him when the room is already busy ans even though he wanted to go inside without allowance .. After that I wanted to lock our room but the Door lock was broken something that not even in a 3 stars Ibis hotel in Bangkok or Mexico happened to us before.. I REPORTED TO THE DESK with MITCHELL hope this got repaired already..
The old Cook Lady at the restaurant taking care of the buffet and doing eggs / omellettes and what ever they offer to the guests has a really really bad mood or maybe she had a bad hair day which is not an excuse , she was not nice to the guest and to the kitchen Personal too including a young guy working at the bar and restaurant with asian roots and extremely efficient but with that kind of chef you are just scare to make any kind of mistake through your shift ..
Last but not least at the end of our stay I wanted to get a E-bill again on my email as I am gold member and sometimes I do the FAST CHECK IN // FAST CHECK OUT but to be sure about the bill i wanted to have it again ..So meanwhile MITCHELL was busy attending other guests the Young lady SANDRA which also drove the Shuttle Bus at the 2nd of January 2019 accepted my room keys to do the check out she looked at the system and ask her collegue something in Dutch from which I understood " PREPAID ALREADY" She came back to her place and told me the bill stills open i said NO its already paid I filled my fast check in // check out with my creditcard infos too..so i knew is already paid and she said NO THE CITY TAX AND THE PARKING still opened..Mitchell checked it again I showed her the bill via email she was very unpolite rude and arrogant and at the end she gave me a printed bill and Mitchell gave me the last info about the Hotel..
Is incredible how a nice stay can be shadowed by arrogant and bad mood personal all the magic from the rest of the Staff got killed with this situation .. As i told Mitchell i will put this review on tripadvisor // Google Local guides // facebook // My blog and INSTAGRAM ..
For the rest I can say if i would have the opportunity to stay in this hotel again I would def. do it again ..
Hoping they can improve in thesw kind of issues and of course because the location is pretty good ..
Thank you Novotel Maastricht for reading this and wish you a successful 2019 ..
A nice hotel near the center of Maastricht. 25 minutes walk or you can take the shuttle bus to the center. You can also be picked up again. Excellent rooms. Breakfast buffet super. The evening food was also delicious. The same applies to lunch. Very attentive staff.
Hotel offers parking, not far from the center of Maastricht, 6min walk, very good breakfast buffet, clean and spacious room, modern hotel, decor in the spirit of Christmas during the holidays, very nice!
The hotel itself is not much wrong with that. What can be said about it is the very slow service at dinner in the restaurant. Long wait for the order to be taken. Waiting a long time for the first dish, and the meantime for the next, no fun. Don't think it was the service, they were friendly and tidy, but the staffing, too few staff and too far to walk. The breakfast the next day was very good with fresh products.
Recommended! Certainly with children (13 & 10 years) Just returned from 2 nights in this hotel. Very friendly staff, clean tidy room, very rich breakfast. Children can play indoors but also in the hotel garden. Maastricht city center is only half an hour away. We will definitely come back here.
Great hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood 15 minutes walk from the station and 25 minutes walk from the city. The rooms are spacious and modern. The bathroom is good and has a nice shower. Furthermore, the beds are very good. The breakfast was more than good. There is plenty of choice, various sandwiches, sausages, bacon, egg, muffins, waffles, etc. With me, breakfast was included in the price (special store). Only when you have to pay 19 per person separately is it a different story. For that amount you can get a lot better in the city. Finally the staff was very friendly.
My parents stayed here. They really liked their stay as it was a quiet and peaceful surrounding that they were staying in. They enjoyed the view from their hotel room and liked that the hotel had a free shuttle to offer to the center of Maastricht.
Slept well a pity that they only have instant coffee in the room and that they also charge 8 euros a day to park what they do not report on the site is a shame because you can just write it seems to me.
Super nice hotel! Friendly staff, nice rooms and everything arranged down to the last detail. Worth 5 stars. If we go to Maastricht again, I will definitely go here again.
Good hotel, clean rooms and space for children to play. The continental breakfast is quite good. Parking is not free but is not difficult to find parking lots nearby. It is a bit faster away from Maastricht city centre but there is public transportation.
Good hotel and found a nice offer through hotel specials. Room was fine and check-in went without any problems. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the center of Maastricht and for the way back you can be brought back by taxi for 8.50.
They talk too much and my dessert was melted because they didn't take it away. I thought the main dishes were good but the future I want to see better staff. Who don't talk much to each other
Long wait at check-in, sober rooms with worn carpet. There is air conditioning, a fridge and a safe. Private bathroom with walk-in shower. Nowhere a terrace or balcony. Extensive, tasty breakfast.
The hotel is very clean, reception and staff are very excellent and the breakfast is very tasty and tasty but there is one drawback to the hotel is that the walls of the walls inside the hotel are from the gibs and you hear everything that goes around you and you are in the room
Not recommended at all! Too few glasses and all staff who clearly have no hospitality experience. The rooms are not cleaned during the stay which is a shame.
Ridiculous parking fee per day for hotel guests. And annoying that you had to ask for every voucher while the travel documents are very clear. For the coffee, lunch, dinner, breakfast (s) and Museums. Good that I had a copy of the travel documents.
Friendly staff + the pool was great with this heat. However, it is an old-fashioned hotel which is also very expensive. The hallways smelled musty, breakfast was very pricey and renting the bike too.
Okay, rooms were fine, bathroom had some mold around the edges so doing something about it would not be out of place. Quiet night despite the fact that we slept in the hall with a lot of children, heard nothing and room was well dark. The big disappointment is breakfast, for 19 euros you expect more choice and better quality products.
Clean and spacious room. Good insulation. Not noisy place. Swimming pool in the courtyard. Convenient for families with children in summer. Good kitchen. You can dine in the hotel in the evening, or on the patio. Nice and helpful staff. The hotel is popular with different age categories of visitors. Mostly tourists. It was crowded but very pleasant and friendly environment. From the hotel you can go free to the city center or to the central station by the hotel bus. Just reserve your seats in advance. this service is popular. From the city center back on foot 15-20 minutes. The central station is also 15-20 minutes on foot.
Have now slept and eaten here for a few nights. The hotel is clean and the beds are pleasant. The breakfast is fine, although it is much less luxurious than that of the neighboring van der Valk. The evening food was simple but tasty and not too expensive.
NOT RECOMMENDED! Spent a few days in the Netherlands in various hotels due to Corona. Started in vd Valk Apeldoorn, really great, then a few days to hotel the Zeeland coast, fantastic, at both hotels a delicious breakfast and every day was cleaned and everything was super clean! To conclude, 2 nights at Novotel Maastricht ... it was lovely late summer weather of 28 degrees so enjoyed the pool outside, but what a letdown was the room and breakfast after the 2 previous hotels. We had booked the superior room but nothing superior to notice, a very simple, soberly furnished room with an air conditioning that does not work making it very stuffy in the small room, reported this to the girl vd reception and she said that it was only in The effect is above 20 degrees outside and I had to open the window so that it blows through, the window can be opened up to 3 cm. She would let someone look but I wonder if that has been done all in all it still does not work, several guests indicated that it does not work .. due to Corona the cleaning was not done in the rooms, I can live with that, it was for us 2 days, I wonder how it would go if you stay longer. It was neat that you could get more towels, but you also get sheets to change the beds for a longer stay .... also the tinted man at the reception so unfriendly bahhhh really bad, he clearly does not like the looking forward to his job / work !!!
Furthermore, the breakfast for a hefty price of 19 pp per day is really not worth it, minimal choice for a high price, this is certainly not breakfast like the hotels of vd Valk or hotel de Zeeuwse Kust, you get it for the same price a delicious full breakfast and you will be pampered but here it is only a scant minimal breakfast ...
The hotel is too expensive for what you get / are provided. Novotel take an example from vd Valk ... your already customer is spoiled here and the rooms are also cleaned. (despite Corona) hopefully you will do something with this info !!!!
Ps, do not take a parking space, the barriers are constantly open and you can enter and exit free of charge, they charge 9 per day for this!
I am very curious if Novotel will let me know about this review!
An outdated novotel. Sofa bed for the children really bad where the spirals were clearly felt. Head bed good. Some noisy rooms. Breakfast fine. Price night also slightly lower than at other novotel which ultimately makes a positive assessment.
They make you the offer of 110 euros for two people, then there's the deception like everything is you have to pay: 15 euros a day of parking, 19 euros a head extra for a snack, if you want the room with separate beds you have to pay others 50 euros, in the end everything comes back with the extras .... a real joke !!!!
Nice hotel with hospitable staff. Good breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately we could not use dinner because the restaurant was closed on Sunday. Furthermore, great hotel.
Clean spacious room. We were allowed to choose whether we wanted a room with a bath or shower. Friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of seats in the welcome hall. Plus toy for children. We read that children under 16 !!! can stay for free for years. Where can you still find this? Nice garden where you can sit or the children can play. So we cannot agree with the negative reviews at all. Corina rules are neatly applied, but not at the expense of the atmosphere. It would be helpful if the site stated that the shuttle bus does not run through corona. That's the only downside we could find. On the other hand, it is nice to walk to the center on the new walking / cycling path (with the underground A2 below you!). Small half hour.
