Basically go anywhere but here. Read the reviews you're not getting through their ER in less than 3 hours. My wife waited 3 hours and 20 minutes and then walked out. This is what you get when ER's are treated like Dr's offices and they have no procedures in place for managing the people who walk through the door.

1/11/18 People where waited 7 ro 8 hour to see a doctor. They had to do a roll call because people that where sick where leaving. Some hr guy tried to tell me that the wait was because of no beds available, when the truth was people just want to be told what's wrong with them and go home. I dont know if that where short of staff or doctors or what? But no one should have to wait to 8 hours to get a diagnosis and treatment. It felt like I was witnessing some event in a third world country, not american. Forsyth county hospital needs to get it together and take care or the people not their profits.

I took my husband to the emergency room on Sunday ...

I took my husband to the emergency room on Sunday 10/29 at 2AM. He was in excruciating pain. While the admissions desk was excellent and got him back to a room immediately where a doctor saw him quickly, the nurse assigned to his case was horrible (if I could give a negative number I would). She not only was unable to get the IV in his vein - but it took 15 minutes until she called another nurse who did it on first try (all the time while my husband groaned in agony). Then - although the doctor had ordered (more than 30 minutes ago) that she give him medication for pain relief - she went out to the nurses station and sat down and gossiped. While my husband dug his heels into the bed, gritted his teeth between moans, gripped his hands so tightly that he wouldn't allow me to hold his hand as he thought he would break my bones - our nurse (Meredith) did nothing. I opened the curtain and told her that she need to give him meds asap as he was not only in agony but hyperventilating and sweating profusely. She looked at me (without any sign of interest or caring) and said "It will be a few more minutes as I need to do some paper work on the prior patient). Five minutes later when I though my husband was going to faint or have a heart attack, I walked across the 5' hallway and screamed - get up now and give him meds. She did respond but grimaced and when she came in - she then dropped the vial of pain meds and had to go out and get more. She never (not once) showed any empathy. Later while waiting for his CT scan, my husband started shivering - so I asked for a blanket. She never brought one in. I then found a person cleaning the halls - and asked if she could get me a blanket. She brought two. When Meredith went off shift - she never even told us and so when my husband (after his scan) wanted some ice or water, I looked for her without success. I then went up to the nursing station and asked where she was. I was told they changed shifts. The female nurse (whose name I do not know) but who was at the computer said she didn't know who my husband was assigned to and she did not have the time to get him ice/water. The male nurse (sitting next to her) volunteered to do it. All I can say is that Forsyth's nursing staff is obviously demoralized as their attitudes stink.

I only give 2 stars to this review because admissions and the ER doctor were very good. But the nursing staff issue also explains why Moses Cone recently got an A rating for patient safety while Forsyth got a B rating as it takes consistent, unwavering dedication to patients to achieve the highest standards of patient safety," said Leah Binder, president and chief executive of The Leapfrog Group. "An A safety grade recognizes hospitals for this accomplishment.

My mother was recently patient in the medical ICU....

My mother was recently patient in the medical ICU. The care from the nursing staff was good but the doctors and P.A.s was abhorrent. It was a game of nearly zero information or sense of urgency while my un-diagnosed mother lay on a ventilator. Completely unacceptable of a medical institution. the one blessing they did grant us was a transfer to Wake Forrest Baptist Hospital where her care was excellent. The difference was like comparing a little league baseball team to the majors only it is fun to watch actual little league. my suggestion to the person who runs this institution is simple. Step 1- get in your car, Step 2- drive five minutes down the road to Baptist, Step 3- watch, listen, and learn about caring for patients and families.

Had surgery here. Surgery went well- but after leaving the surgical floor it was terrible. The room they took me to-76 degrees-.they didn t fix the temp my husband had to figure it out. I had to ask for everything from water to tissues- the tissues never came. Pain meds-the worst case scenario happened here. Zero pain meds to start- I was in severe pain and tears before I got anything. The entire time I was there I had to request everything! They acted as if I was the whiner. Finally a great nurse- than she went home and the RN from hell- no pain meds and I m pretty sure she made me sound bad to the dr- he had to come back in! Oh and leaving- nurse wheeled me into the waiting area- left to go get her free Starbucks- and never came back- I got up and walked out of the hospital to my husbands car. Don t go here - unless you are healthy!
