My husband and I went here to celebrate our 9 yr wedding anniversary about a week ago. We'd been wanting to try Nick and Sam's for quite some time and figured this would be a great time to go. We were greeted with champagne, which was very nice. Where our experience went down hill started with our waitress. She made us feel like we were cheap with every decision we made. The steaks we had had no flavor and you almost had to rely on the Nick and Sam's steak sauce to continue to eat it. The only thing good about our experience was the dessert, which then the waitress made us feel cheap for wanting to take home our leftover cotton candy that we wanted to give our 16 month old daughter. I tried to reach out to Nick and Sam's contact us and explain our experience and it's clear they don't care about the experience their guests receive...they just want their money. I've never felt cheap spending $300 on a meal for two. Overall, a horrible experience and we'll not be going back...and neither will our friends or family that we've expressed our experience to when asked. Take your business somewhere else, unless you want to spend lots of money and be made to feel cheap.

Food was good but underwhelming for the pomp and pricing. Maybe the $240 steak named after a local hero or the $50/Oz wagyu would have knocked my socks off, I settled for a $50 aged 16oz ribeye. Great flavor, texture could have been better(referring to the meat quality, it was cooked well enough), 30% gristle. Sides and appetizers i tried were good but I expected more (seemed basic, wouldn't have been out of place at a mid-level franchise). Also, is it normal to be seated at a folding, portable banquet hall table at a nice restaurant? Maybe. That was a first for me. Service was good and the caviar bar was a nice touch but I probably won't return.

This was an awesome experience. I hate to use the word awesome to describe an elegant dinning experience. But, what a great place.

First, this is an experience not just dinner. The flexibility of menu options can make every visit unique.

Second, if you have never been, you are educated with respect. Most people have to be introduced to the menu options. The servers provide a background on every offering from the cut of meat to where the restaurant obtains the largest type of shrimp prepared at one's table.

Third, the staff provides an experience of not only service, but continual presentation. One may never notice that if you go to the restroom your napkin is folded by the staff waiting for you when you return. They did a fantastic job of knowing what the restuarant wanted to provide in terms is experience and executing as a team.

Finally, the food exceeds expectations. The flavor and visual appeal easily surpasses some unnamed competitors (like R.C.).

I did not focus on the food in this review because I expect great food. The dinning experience and the atmosphere really make this the hit. And, this was a corporate thing. I really enjoyed just the memory.

Full disclosure and sorry, I was the geek taking a picture of the "smoking" seafood appetizers.

Absolutely incredible execution and flavors - I don't think I've ever eaten anything that I didn't want to finish. From all the appetizers (even the sushi) to the desserts, each dish is a home run. Nick and Sam's has by far the best steak tartar I have ever eaten - don't skip it!

The restaurant was beautiful and romantic. The service was great as well. The food appeared to be fresh but slightly underseasoned. We had reservations for 5pm and in anticipation of a delicious dinner we decided to save our appetite for Dinner. Once we left the restaurant we headed to our friends house but before we could make it we both felt tremendously nauseous. We could barely make it to the house without throwing up. Needless to say we spent 2 day vomiting and sick to the stomach completely ruining our weekend Valentines celebration. My hubby called the restaurant to alert the manager but they just brushed it off. So not cool.

Nick&Sams is a great restaurant. I ate the ribeye steak cooked "medium", I have only been there twice in my entire life. I will eat there again one day when i have the money. Nick & Sams is the best restaurant I have ever been too. End of Story.

Side were really good. Steak on the other hand not so much. Ordered a 48 OZ PORTERHOUSE the steak had a burnt taste that was not very appealing. If you're going out to eat steak probably not the place to go. If you are trying to be seen or go people watching this is definitely the spot.

I'm so happy I get to be the 100th reviewer. I asked my server what he recommended. He said I could either have a great meal or a meal that will make a great memory. He was right. That was the best steak I've ever had (Kobe sample platter). This meal made an impression.
I was in such a state of enjoyment I hardly noticed when a food runner spilt spinach on my sleeve... It happens.

PS Mr Romano... You're the man

This was the most remarkable steak shop I've ever been to. This is not Texas Roadhouse.. that place is nice for fast food... THIS place is not to be compaired to it, it's simply NOT in the same catagory, hell.... it's not even the same planet. 8 people, bill was over a thousand dollars. No, I did not pay for it, a company we do business with did. I cannot believe what I just experienced.

I was very disappointed with the experience. I went here with my family and none of us were very impressed with the food. My steak arrived colder than I d like but was cooked to medium properly. The taste was nothing special and I was wishing I had chosen to take them to knife steakhouse which in my opinion is way better.

Obviously everyone goes here for the vibes. The food and drinks were good. However, they got my steak order wrong.. I asked for medium rare and I received an almost medium well. The waitress didn t wait until I cut into it, so when I did I wasn t paying attention and ate a piece. I obv noticed right after I ate that piece and mentioned it to the waitress, and she had an attitude about it. You would think a restaurant of this caliber wouldn t get a steak order wrong, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe the waitress didn t hear me..

Highly recommend this place! If you're looking for a high end restaurant, this place is GREAT for any special occasion. The drinks are delicious and their steaks are SIMPLY PERFECT. It is cooked to your exact specification. The attention to detail and care they offer is exceptional. $$$$ Definitely worth the price. Will definitely go again.

The steak was so amazing! I ordered a ribeye and it was brought out to the perfect doneness on the first attempt. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were great. I would highly recommend not getting any steak toppings so you can enjoy the meat straight from the grill. If you do, at least ask for them on the side. The staff was very knowledgeable and highly accommodating. The only negative I have to say is that it is very loud inside. It almost seemed as more people filtered in, the music was turned up to compensate for the conversation volume.

You have to know what to expect at a place like this. Don't complain about the wine prices or the service for that matter (it was top notch and if you got anything else then it must have been a trainee). This place is one of the best steakhouses I've been to in the country solely based on service alone. Their presentation is above and beyond. They bring out the meats on a plate and explain each cut to you in intricate detail. The 7 layer (yes! and it was huuuge) chocolate cake for dessert was definitely the highlight for me! Delicious, fun night, great experience.

After a long flight from London we were so pleased to have Nick & Sam's across the road from our hotel. The service was high quality and the menu extensive, with shell fish, lobster, king crab, fish of the day and of course a wide selection of steaks. We shared a 16oz bone in fillet with an Oregon Pinot Noir, both were excellent. The sides are so big two people only need a half portion. The two negatives were it was dark which made it hard to read the menu, and you couldn't hear each other speak due to the background noise. I would recommend a visit.

Let me start off by saying I am the kind of guy who has major issues spending $65 at Texas Roadhouse because I know I am skilled enough to out do them. But I have absolutely 0 issues with dropping $300+ on dinner because these chefs are masters at what they do. With that being said...

Sunday my Wife and I got married and Monday night was the first dinner of just the 2 of us. We are staying downtown and the concierge highly recommended Nick and Sams.

Let s start with the good-

Service- Our service was wonderful! We made reservations at 7 and were promptly seated as soon as we arrived. The young lady in charge of our section was very tentative to anything we or those around us needed.

Unfortunately for me that s kind of where it stops...

The room was so loud I felt as if I had to yell for my wife to hear me. I felt people were stacked right on top of one another( we shared a booth with another couple)

And the big letdown for me...
Food- Not all of the food was sub par, we actually truly enjoyed the Calamari as an appetizer (very buttery, and melts in your mouth) unlike most places that seems very rubbery.

For the Main course our waitress recommended the Tomahawk to split and my wife also wanted lobster so that s what we ordered.
The food came out promptly, but I feel as though they sacrificed flavor for speed. The steak was very tough and honestly kind of dry. The major let down was with the lobster.... it was cold, dry, and tough to cut... Honestly felt like I was eating cardboard..

When reservations were made I let them know we are on our honeymoon and that I would like champagne or some kind of something extra on the table and that never happened, I saw them serving all kinda of desserts to other guests for what appeared to be birthdays, no such extra mile was taken. All I wanted was for it to be perfect on our first night as Husband and Wife.

Honestly we should have gone to Trulucks.

That is $350.00 I ll never get back and really left a bad taste in my mouth.

The atmosphere was a circus! We were there on a Wed. night, so we were expecting a calmer experience. Tables are very close to one another, the staff was overwhelmed, they were moving tables literally over our heads to accommodate incoming parties. It was even difficult to use the restroom, navigating between tables was tricky. It was extremely loud and hard to have a conversation across the table. The food was very good but it was a challenge to get our waiter's attention. Another waiter blew past us, hit the back of my head with a plate & in passing gave a faint "sorry" as he passed. Their prices certainly don't match the chaotic atmosphere.
