We came to emergency room because my wife had been vomiting for few hours after getting antibiotic and pain killer for teeth pain. We were waiting for 4 hour and no one even tried to come to us. We decided to leave because my wife had started to feel better and requested to remove us from the system in order not to be charge ER co-payment, however, front desk clerk claimed that we are still going to be charged because we have already registered with ER even though doctor did not see us for 4 hours. It is fraud!

We arrived at the emergency room because my wife vomited for several hours after taking an antibiotic and painkiller for toothache. We waited 4 hours and no one even tried to approach us. We decided to leave as my wife began to feel better and demanded to remove us from the system so as not to pay cash on delivery for a useless visit. However, the clerk claimed that we would still have to pay as we checked in during the visit, even if the doctor did not examine us for 4 hours. This is a fraud!

Love love this Hospital, the staff are professional, courteous, friendly, and it's always clean.
The Drs are very informative, they make sure you understand the diagnosis of the patient.
I've been going to Methodist for many years for family members, and I've never been disappointed

My son felt out with stroller on the tile floor and was bleeding with his head. He had hole in his head. I called 911 and they derived me to Brookdale Hospital. Because they do not give my baby any water since 45 minutes, everything was so slowly while my baby is still bleeding. I decided to take a lyft and drive to New York -
Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. The best choice what I ever did. The nurses and doctors are very nice, professional. They gave my 17 months old a apple juice and cookies in a few minutes. I told a doctor he was not eat today a lot and he be won t vomit because his stomach is empty.

My daughter had a appointment today plus a sonogram and the glucose test. Her doctor appointment was at 12:45 she went in early to take the glucose test because she has to wait for two hours before the blood is drawn. When she went to see her Dr Jacklyn Bush the Hispanic receptionist was so disrespectful and making comments saying I don t know why they coming so early for? She needs to be dealt with that is not how you speak to people and my daughter was in pain it got to the point that she didn t stay to get the proper examination. This is poor service and if these medical assistant don t get the training that is needed they are going to face a lot of lawsuits if something happens to a unborn child.

terrible ER, happened to come in half an hour before staff changed shift. Was completely forgotten and made to feel insignificant, complained multiple times, wasn't until I was irate and obscene that I was seen, then the prescription that was written to me couldn't be filled in any pharmacy by the mistake of the attending physician. Unless you are a step away from death, avoid this place.

I was waiting in the emergency today in excruciating pain for over 2 hours and the receptionist still couldnt tell me when i would be seen. Just because you triage a patient and their vitals looks stable, doesnt mean a patients complaint of pain isn't real. Very disappointing and horrible experience.

Very disrespectful and dishonest staff. Avoid at all costs. Most of the "positive" reviews are from the staff. Oh did I mention that they're extremely money hungry? Visits last hours with staff sitting around doing nothing simply to charge the insurance companies. And they get mad when called out on it because their fragile egos can't handle the truth. That is what we call big business. Bring back staff that ACTUALLY care about patients.

Disaffected staff, lackadaisical performance, long waits for no reason beyond lack of attention and care. This may be a big urban hospital (and a part of the prestigious NY-Presbyterian network to boot), but I've seen more professional organization and hustle in small hospitals in rural areas. This place is very close to complete amateur hour. Proceed with caution.

I am here now and my husband was admitted by ambulance. He has congestive heart failure. Waiting more than 2 hours to be brought up to his room. I have never seen an E. D. like this. Nurses make no eye contact, no smiles. The privacy issue is totally non existent. They talk about paitient issues , don t close curtains. Other patients are left in the hall. It is the last time I would ever come here.

Our child was admited to ER with severe stomach pains at 11 on jan 2nd. ER was full due to new year uptick, yet we still got treated with respect and gentleness, noone approached us about insurance papers until the doctor saw our child. While super busy everyone remained professional and warm. It did take a while, but in the end the experience was positive.

Awesome Nursing Staff. But by far my favorite is Kitty, Allie, Christina, Danika, Gehnaro. They are above and beyond the best, these pediatric nurses do everything to make my daughter comfortable. They are highly poised and professional. An all around pleasant people. Very responsive to questions.

I'm expecting, my due date is in a week. I went in because my hands and feet were swollen and I had numbness throughout my limbs. I just wasn't feeling right. This is where I've been receiving my prenatal care but it was the closest. When the doctor and nurse were asking me why I came in, they were extremely unwelcoming and annoyed that I didn't go the hospital that was an hour farther away. Their questions were speculative, more like being questioned by an officer. Even though my blood pressure was "borderline" they didn't take a urine sample or do any blood work. I have them 2 stars because I didn't have to wait long. My hands and legs are still tingling but the swelling has gone down a bit.

Really disappointing experience here. I came in with excruciating pain and Dr. Lukasz Cygan did not even pretend to really be concerned. They told me I need to see a gastroenterologist, but could not offer a referral or find one for me that would be open over the holiday. He shrugged it off and told me he texted his GI friend, but then never came back with any more info before I was discharged. He told me I needed to keep drinking water and when I said it was too painful his response was, well you have to. They obviously just wanted to clear me out on a slow day.

We saw a pediatrician here once with my daughter and really liked her, but this overshadowed that. Giving one star for the woman at the front desk who really was very lovely.

Horrific disorganization. Staff tries hard but administration is such a mess. For a woman in labor crying in pain, I had to actively go and fetch the anesthesiologist after 2 hours of waiting. On top of that, we PAID our bill the day it was due which is now in collections, impacting our credit. On top of that ,additional bills were NEVER sent to us, went right to collections. We had the money ready to go to pay for it , and still got dinged. Don't go here, it's a disaster. This used to be the best hospital in Brooklyn. It's the business end of a colon now.

Would give them a zero but then I would not be able to submit a review. They did not take my mother out of the bed for the 10-day stay and said she couldn't sit up in a whee;chair. They NEVER asked me if she could, which she could and had been daily at home, on small trips to the beach, and around the neighborhood. Kept lying to me and would not discharge her as they ran up her Medicare bill for almost an extra as I watched my mom deteriorate daily because they did NOTHING to keep her moving. Finally called Medicare, Ombudsman, etc. Patient Relations helped me but everyone else lied to protect the doctor. This used to be a good hospital, but I will NEVER take my mom there again.

Awesome hospital from the moment I found our I was having surgery. Receptionist called to make sure & had everything I needed for pre- surgical testing.
Surgery was done on Thurs & recovery attendees especially Jessica was great.
My three days on the 7 South floor...Amazing!!
Staff was excellent & helped eased all my worries. From Nurse Wen, Andrew & Cara. Martha was very helpful as well.
You made my stay wonderful & if by chance I ever have to stay @ an hospital..
Methodist hands down

A physician assistant discharged my mother when she was still in pain and we had to take her back the next morning when the complications got worse. The doctors there also made a mistake 15 years ago when my brother was being born and my family had to file a lawsuit. They also give you the run around if you are calling to locate a patient!

my mom needed to make an appt and for months she couldn't get thru. she called her Insurance who then also attempted to schedule it for her and they also had no luck. results of not getting an appt to get her meds my mom ended up in the ER w her sugar 526 which affected her heart and kidneys. they admitted themselves that the office to schedule appointments is horrible they need better ppl to answer these calls and be at their desk this is ridiculous.

Been here over 6 hours waiting to see a Dr.....ridiculous!!! They tell me still a longer wait. Have people crying out for help no one helping them. NURSES AND DRS JUST KEEP WALKING AROUND!

I have been here since approximately 12:00 noon. It is now 4:11. I came here with my daughter because she has recurring UTIs. She has multiple sclerosis and this happens with MS patients. Her vitals were taken soon after we arrived and a Physician Assistant came after about an hour and a half. He said he would have a nurse come and take urine from my daughter with a catheter. It's 4:15 and no nurse, no urine taken, nothing. This has to be my worst experience yet here. When we arrived this E.R. was not busy. Now it is and I was told the nurse should be coming. Hasn't happened yet. Now she is due for medication at 5:00 pm. Ridiculous for this to be happening.

My experience was so horrible here... Waited 4hrs for someone to read my x-ray to see if I had a fish bone stuck in my throat. Came into the ER at 12am and nurses say if im lucky I could possibly leave at 6am. The staff is so unfriendly! These nurses are either bullshitting with other nurses or on their phone texting and the sad part is the unit management aren't doing anything about it! I'm so frustrated with this place. I thought Coney Island hospital was bad but this place got Coney island beat! Who spends 6hrs in ER!?!

I was a volunteer on six minor at this hospital during my junior year in high school. Overall, I liked my experience. The nurses were friendly to me and very helpful. The patients were also grateful for having volunteers around, as we provided them with attention and care. I didn't get to interact too much with the doctors on my floor; they were too busy and weren't really approachable in my position. If anyone in highschool/college is interested in pursuing a career in medicine, I highly recommend volunteering here.

Only nuerologist to find where my seizures where located & tell me about my sleep apnea. Dr. Nouri is his name. Great to work with. 100% complete trust in his abilities. If anyone has a nureologic issue, he is whom should be seen.

Just notice that for every negative or constructive review there is a Five Star review immediately lined up. Nicely done. I have to agree. I was treated at their Hematology unit here few times and when making an appointment over the phone the staff wasn't nice. Last time, when I asked for something, the man on the phone answered in nasty tone - just wait until I tell you everything. That was not necessary. Otherwise, I don't have a problem with the staff or the doctors. But the wait is ridiculous though. Why? I asked for the manager many times and I was told Jose Currasco (not sure about the spelling) runs the place. I wasn't able to talk to him in person - ever. Sir, please fix your department so we don't have to sit there all day. I understand you need to bring maximum revenue to the NY PRE$BYTERIAN CORPORATION, but you can't book 50 people for one hour. PLEASE. Don't forget that we're just people too. Your unit is close-by, and that's convenient for me not that I'm older. But other hospitals are doing much better. This is 2018!!!!

My father went to the methodist hospital like 3 times ( he stayed 15 days in total) in the cardioloy section. the cleaning service is horrible. one time he stayed for 10 days, no body came to clean the toilet or the room during that time ! I saw small cockroach in the toilet !! it is the dirtiest hospital we've been to. That's not all, they have the rudest nurse staff we've ever seen. my father was on blood thinner, his IV was full of blood and he was in pain, I asked the nurse to change it, she totaly ignored me, I kept insisting so after one hour she came and change it. There were two male nurses who were so nice to us and a russian nurse who also was so nice but the rest did not even care. Their ER service is the worse, they put my father on a machine to moniter his heart beat, the machine beeped for about an our and no body came to check ! his heart beats reached up to 170 !
I am really shocked, sometimes I can not believe that we live in a first world country !!!!!!

What an amazing experience we had. My wife gave birth here and the staff was amazing. Dr Defazio, nurses Mellisa, Alexandra, Laura, and all the pediatricians that helped make this special time memorable for us. We cant thank you enough!

Hospital was filthy and the staff were carefree. The bathroom was covered in blood. How unsanitary! Doctors sat around and socialized at the physician's station and rarely tended to patients. It seemed as if they only had residents making rounds and the seasoned doctors talked and surfed the web. I wouldn't recommend Methodist to my worst enemy. They don't care about their patients! If I wanted to wait for hours to see a doctor, I would've just gone to my primary care. The hospital is poorly run and I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future they go out of business like Long Island Hospital did. If you are going to have that many doctors covering the emergency room, then they should all be working and not just sitting around wiggling their thumbs. Shame on you! Despicable service!

This place is awful. I was physically hit by a car and the ambulance took me here. It took them about 1 hr and 30 min before anyone came into my room asking what was wrong. It took another 2 hrs and 30mins to get any medication. Note I got here at this 8PM and it is 4:30AM and they said they still can't tell me about the pain in my knee, and the doctor who was assigned to me is no where to be found. The waiting period is ridiculous. Also, YOU have to make all request. Do not come here if you have any type of emergency, honestly don't come here at all.

I went to the emergency room a few days ago and it s so disheartening the care I received at this facility. I got there at 6 pm because my doctor referred me to do so to rule out a serious condition. I waited in a blue chair between what looks like nurses stations. I was told I d be given a room, never happened and some lady said I told the other nurses they know. I m in extreme pain and tired. I waited patiently 2 other women came after me and got rooms and I m still in this blue chair, I get greeted by Jimmy super polite and though it took time I waited. Over an hour I meet Jimmy , and my friend comes to meet me at this point . Another hour passes I meet the doctor who starts to ask me personal questions how I m feeling the basics I show her my referral, mind you STILL IN THE BLUE CHAIR GOT EXAMINED, Asked several personal questions and answered accordingly. I was sent for an exam, came back down to this blue chair, there are 6 , most of them filled and this doctor decided to give me my results in front of everyone I was shocked and unhappy about how my rights were being violated . I let it go I m in pain and I just needed help. It s pushing almost 10 pm and apparently my urine test was never done by the nurse who left my doctor has me waiting and I m thinking I m going to get the initial exam I was sent to do by my Primary doctor. I flag my doctor and I m like they never took my cup shes like I ll do it myself because I don t know what s going on here. My doctor and Jimmy were fine. My friend leaves to go get food because we been there for hours . And when he comes back is told by a woman that he cannot come in. I found that odd when everyone else in these chairs were all there with someone. What shocked me the most was that some of these workers Did not CARE ABOUT HAVING A MASK on. But cared if my friend was there to support me . They have it and take it off near one another whenever they please in front of patients meanwhile I m there with it on the entire time. My job makes me wear a mask my entire shift and get inspected 3 times a week by the state health officials and we get fined for not following the expected standard to prevent COVID. Most of these people have no regard for anyone else. After attempting to throw my friend out I was fed up and left. If I get extremely sick just know guys it s from the hospital. Stay away from this place even if your desperate like I was go somewhere else. There s a cute sign that says no one should record but I think that s what people need to start doing to hold these individuals accountable for their blatant lack of respect for others.

Hospital has gone to hell under the new administration. Prior this used to be an example hospital but now I seriously think that Brookdale itself would ve provided better service.

8 hours and doctor not assigned, 6 complaints of unbearable pain, ran through about 5 divers and no attention whatsoever. Finally I decided to discharge myself and send everyone to where they belong.

4 others nearby decided to discharge themselves, especially after the person next to me sat and coughed blood while not being able to breathe for 3 hours and received no attention.

A close friend was admitted to this hospital and received the absolutely best treatment from both the medical and the administrative staff while she was there. I must take this opportunity to say a special thank you on behalf of my friend and her family for the care and concern expressed by Dr. Ilyas. Her bedside manner was exemplary, as she displayed a high level of professionalism combined with genuine emotional support for her patients as well as their family members.

Be warned: stay away from Methodist. We have never had a good experiene in their er. This last time is borderline, if not, actual malpractice. This hospital is the worst! Went in with a referral from a dermatologist to have an abscess drained. Some incompetent PA laughed at me, told me my doctor was a wuss, and used her thick, unsterilized hands to squeezed the abscess releasing the infection into my bloodstream. I had to beg for an antibiotic. By that night half my face was swollen with a bacterial infection only Bactrian could handle. And I have a scar.

Cannot believe some of the bad reviews here on this hospital ... I had both of my children at this hospital one in 1968 and the other in 1970 and I had excellent care from start to finish.. I travelled from Long Island to this hospital to have my second child in 1970 because my ObGYN was at this hospital and I worshipped him.. I have only good things to say about this hospital..

I m literally in the middle of Methodist and Lutheran. I just called a minute ago to see which hospital has a shorter wait time. The man who answered the emergency room phone goes ER. (Already with an attitude) I'm like can u tell me the . And he goes 3 hours and hangs up. Didn't even let me finish now idk if he was being serious or not either.

Horrible! Do not ever come to this hospital, first of all they are very unprofessional. They ask you your personal business In front of other patients no confidentiality at all! Second they are very very slow and they do not care how urgent your situation is they'll still have you waiting for 8 hours!. Third, they have dirty equipment just laying around and there were bed bugs in the chairs they had me sitting in for 7 hours!!. Do not ever come here I pray to god they close that dirty hospital down!

This facility is short staffed and it's a big problem. Doctors are simply not available to patients when needed to report problems.

The doctors that are covering nighttime shift do not respond when paged... During the day staff doesn't have enough time for every patient and are constantly rushed from one patient to another... Nurses and some techs have attitude and if you call for a supervisor - Sylvie is "surprised" that the covering MD for the night didn't show up for 2 nights in a row! Horrible.

Inpatient unit is horrible as well. Techs only do your vital signs and won't let you have enough rest to heal or leave you alone even if you still need help and it's complex of issues.

Pharmacy doesn't carry sufficient variety of meds and it takes some staff members to go extra mile to get you what you need.

This is actually appreciated greatly - those people who help.

There are volunteers in here. Some are great others are not as good.

Staffs from starting entry all the way to emergenc...

Staffs from starting entry all the way to emergency room are super friendly, excellent/superb services. Methodist Hospital's reputation is impeccable for their professionalism, friendliness, and integrity. Nurses & doctors make us feel as if we are their family. On behalf of my wife, son, & daughter thank you to Methodist Hospital that it's our honor to be your patients (Wendy Wong, Ivan Lam, Ivanka Lam, respectively).

In addition, thank you to pediatric team on third floor, especially Dr. Brian attempted to accommodate my son with the Wii system while Ivan is being treated with his prolonged fever; thank you nurse Kitty s & Melanie s services treated my 10 year-old son as if he were their nephew; thank you to nurse Anthonia, Ibukan, Christine Gong, & Donnika for their hospitality.
Thank you to Susan for supporting my son & clarified his concern before entering the Operation Room; there is also therapy dog, Carrot, for post surgery to comfort my son.
Most importantly, sincerely thank you to all the doctors who have worked vigorously to improve my son s health.

This DREAM TEAM at Methodist Hospital is superb for their services, Diagnostics, experiences, treatments, & professionalism. This is where amazing things are happening!

The Ace List keeps adding names of excellence services and listen to my concerns about my son s unknown fever origin. I know that I am an annoyed person if assumed. I can become annoying when it comes to my son s fever. Despite the fact that you can check Ivan s temperature 15-30 minutes ago, but once my son s starts lose energy and feel tired, especially if he were shivering, his temperature would quickly spikes above 101. There were three people who doubted me and gave me attitude whenever I requested to check my son s temperature. Each time I requested, I hoped that I am wrong about his fever. However, 8 out of 10 times I was correct and his fever was above 101 and three incidents he had 104 fever. I do not want to be correct and I am not a doctor or nurse, but as a dad and have been by his side since May 18, I know his symptoms and conditions.

I truly appreciate nurse Margarita, Patsy, Annie, Samantha, Daniela, Sahray, Cynthia, Taj, & Tiffany who would listen to my concerns and quickly check his temperature. And thank you nurses who have had experiences with my son s condition and inform other nurses about him before they change shift. There are so many names to mentions, but cannot remember. The entire 3rd floor pediatric team makes me feel as if we are their family member, and I feel as if the entire hospital gives exclusive attention to my son. And thank you to medical housekeepers who helped keep our room clean.

I must hate myself because every time I have an emergency I end up back here. It is only because it is the closest. DO NOT GO HERE or any Brooklyn ER unless it is literally life and death like a gun shot wound. Otherwise, get yourself in a taxi to Manhattan.

During my latest attempt at using Methodist, I called an ambulance after an adverse reaction to anesthesia and a (better) Manhattan hospital. I was too afraid to make the hour drive back up there so decided to go to Methodist because I knew all I needed was IV anti-nausea drugs.

It was depressingly over crowded with a man continuously shouting "GET ME OUT OF HERE!" It took forever to get seen even coming by ambulance. Obviously overcrowding is indicative of the lack of ER resources in the area but someone please staff this place up -- with more competent staff and better protocols.

Here's why: when I finally got a bed, I had several nurses try to locate a vein and failed to do so, instead injecting my ARM with IV anti-nausea meds. Incredibly painful! Incredibly incompetent! I had IV earlier in the day at a Manhattan hospital with no problem. I was covered in needle marks from Methodist. My partner had to basically stalk the doctor around to get him to see me and give me dissolving anti-nausea meds. They also took blood work for no apparent reason.

I was there over FOUR HOURS just to get a few anti-nausea pills. And the craziest part? THERE WAS AN OPEN NEEDLE IN MY HOSPITAL BED. I regret not taking a photo of it because that is so insane and dangerous and there is no excuse, however busy you are.

I swear to g-d this is the last time I go there. The time before this was in February when they MISDIAGNOSED a disease I had and a specialist corrected them

S T A Y A W A Y ! ! ! !

My wife and I just had our first child here. While the actual birthing experience was incredible, it was also the only part of our hospital stay that used non-Methodist practitioners. Our recovery time at the hospital was truly hideous. We received different medical advice from every different staff there, which only enhanced the anxiety of dealing with becoming a parent and caring for a newborn. Clearly, some of the staff had to be offering inappropriate medical care, since they often directly contradicted each other. For instance, we were told to never use A & D ointment on our baby by one nurse, and told to use it everywhere by another. This was just the tip of the iceberg. It often took hours to do what seemed like simple tasks - having a pediatrician look at a high concentration wet diaper, for instance. We also came to learn later that some of the medical advice that the staff WAS aligned on was arcane and harmful. Apparently, it was discovered 25 years ago that using alcohol on an umbilical cord slows the healing process, and has not been recommended as a standard of care for more than two decades! I can only imagine what else we were told or how else we were treated that is not up to the contemporary medical standards. We also had a general lack of information from administrative staff that led to excessive wasted time needlessly wading through government and hospital bureaucracy dealing with her birth certificate. I was elated and relieved when we were finally discharged and could get out of that insane hamster wheel.

This Hospital is going down ever since NY Presbyterian bought them. All these new interns and nurse's are making this place fold apart. If you became a Dr. Or nurse is because u like that profession and u care for others not just because of the money.

My granddad had a stroke and they made him wait 10 hours with no update or test. Horrible hospital.

Edit: i take it back. The worst part is the ER. If you survive admission, the rest of the hospital seems nice.

Worst place to visit for an emergency. Went to the ER for chest pain, something that usually doctors don't want to sit on, but literally waited 5 hours and was STILL discharged with CHEST PAIN!!! I saw this PA, Barbara Piccirillo, what a complete b***h! She brushed off my concerns, and made me very uncomfortable. An ekg was done, no one told me if it was okay or not, I had to ask, then they were going to discharge me without even telling me if my blood work was fine!!!!
I couldn't believe it, then when I said I was not comfortable leaving with chest pain, she basically looked at me like I was stupid and said to take Motrin and gave me my discharge papers. This place is the pits, don't waste your time. I have never been treated in such a disgusting way before, hence a formal complaint to the NYS Department of Health.

The beginning of my experience was as great as any trip to the hospital can be. I went to the ER due to debilitating pain in my legs and lower back and they saw me not even five minutes after I arrived. The doctors then set me up with pain meds and an IV. My trip took a turn after I was given a smaller dose of pain meds to see how I would feel and if it would be enough. It wasn t. I took a short nap (the first bit of actual sleep I ve had in 3 days due to the pain). During that time I was discharged without knowing. I woke up still in pain and asked the nurse if the doctor can give me the other half of my dose of pain medication just to hear her say that I have been discharged and she ll ask the doctor. About half an hour later after asking my sister to call any nurse because I was in pain. They then sent in another nurse that took out my IV and took my blood pressure and said that I was good to go. But I was not good to go. I was still in pain. I stayed laying down to gather my strength to make the trek out the hospital when a security guard came in to usher me and my sister out. Upon noticing that it was difficult for me to move he offered to get me a wheel chair and wheel me out. Despite the kindness of the security guard my overall exit and brush off by the hospital rubbed me the wrong way especially since I went there seeking assistance and help for my pain.

This is literally the worst medical institution I've ever been to. Every person there is rude and unhelpful (although if you can actually get in to see a doctor, one or two of them are ok). The people at the front desk default to completely rude and mean, regardless of how nice folks who come in are. Calling into the office, I have been put on hold forever, just so that they could get out of answering my question.

I was set to have a follow up call with a doctor via some FaceTime-like app, and I had to talk to 3 different people to get it set up, and then when it was time for the virtual appointment, the doctor didn't even show up. I waited for 45 minutes past the appointment time, but he never showed up, and then I was never contacted to make up the virtual appointment where I was supposed to get results.

Every time I visit it take 2-3 times as long as it is supposed to. Their follow through is horrendous, and they truly don't care if you get the information or healthcare results that you are seeking when you come in. Do everything you can to avoid visiting this hospital.

I've herd many times that Methodist is a great Hospital, I wonder why? Maybe, because it's located in the heart of Park Slope? In reality try not listen to the hype. I visit this Hospital on a regular basis and I have nothing positive to mention. The Emergency Room is the worst compared to Lutheran Medical Center, and Maimoides. Methodist Hospital has the worst wait time compared to the other E.R. I have mentioned above.

Though it's unfortunate, but it was still a privilege to be a patient, first, in the emergency room at the Methodist hospital! The first time was because, though everything is fuzzy by now, yet it had something to do with my pulmonary embolism. They treated me sooo well!! My blood thinners were changed from Coudamin to Eliquis.
Then, unfortunately I had to go back, again via the ambulance for the same thing. Upstairs in my room, I asked if they had late night snacks, the nurse said yes. But that wasnt all she said. All of a sudden, she made like she was a matri d, with making believe that she had a pad and pencil and took "my order." I was feeling too sick from the PE but tried my best to let her know I aporeciated her efforts to make me smile anyway.
When it was time to go home, and as my son was escorting me to the elevator, a nurse gave a very warm goodbye, then said "and dont come back! My son and I just smiled, laughed a little.
Everything was so pleasant. Even at the ER, my other son remarked how peaceful it was in the ER, that he felt at home.
So though all of my specialty clinics are taken care of at Beth Israel in Manhattan, and Im very happy there, if anything should ever happen to that hospital I've already told my friends and family that if it does, Methodist Hospital is where Im going!! Hands down!!

I had surgery and was there for three days. I had a bad bladder infection because the catheter wasn't fixed properly after complaining to the nurses that i felt the discomfort it took a while before anymore attended to me. Foodservice? dont 't think i can call it a service. I could go on and on about the service i got, so overall i would not recommend this hospital.

PLEASE HELP ME tell the truth about what this place looks and feels like. My wife had a baby at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Brooklyn and I wanted her to have at least some level of comfort. So we spent over $400 EXTRA for a private room for two nights after the delivery. We were extremely disappointed with the experience. What we got was a rundown, badly maintained room that didn't compare to even the low rated motels in the nation. We complained about the condition of the room, but we were not transferred or compensated in any way. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital management and marketing team, we have nothing against your hard-working staff, but it's time you invested into your infrastructure and stopped lying to people with all your marketing bull. This is NOT what a New York's #1 Hospital looks like. I've experienced so much better elsewhere. I am never coming back. Also, stop contacting me with your apologies, and just fix your problems and reinvest some of the money you take from regular people like us.

Took my mother to the hospital because she was having symptoms like a heart attack. At the ER check in the attendant was more concerned with billing information than allowing my mother to be seen by nurse. Once allowed to see the nurse my mother was rushed into the ER and contacted to the EKG 20min later the results showed she wasn't having a heart attack. At that point the hospital staff disappeared. No one came back to my mother to explain their findings of why a 70 plus young woman was having symptoms of a stroke. 4 hours later we wanted to leave as it was obvious my mother was no longer a concern to the staff. It took calling patients relations to get the results of the tests (so we could follow up with our own doctors) and get discharged . I usually don't write about my experiences but in this case i'm compelled to share. The total lack of compassion for patients who are in distress was to much for me to bare. The fact that it was happening to my mother. Well Methodist hospital you got my attention. As a person who believes health care is a calling and not a paycheck. I'm holding Methodist hospital suspect. Why do you open your doors every day. Is it for the honor and sacred duty of health care or more likely for the money. If it's for the money your service sucks. If you're in need of medical attention and you want answers to your medical questions Methodist hospital isn't for you. Park slope we can do better for our community we should demand better or we should find others who can serve the community better . something to think about don't wait till you're in need before critiquing the services in your community. It could mean the difference between life and death.

Coming here is truly a death sentence. I wouldn't advise this place to my worst enemy, from the inefficient workflows, to the incompetent staff. I am not sure why this place is still around. I checked In at 5pm did not see a doctor until 9 who scheduled a test that didn t occur until 4 am just to come back with results at 7am that they couldn t explain.

You be the judge.
