Love the penguins and the touching tank beautiful place!!
I so loved it there. My friends have annual passes for the aquarium and I can see why. What a lovely place. I highly recommend a visit to this place.
Beautiful place for strolling through Downtown Boston while observing the endangered species.
OMG I LOVED IT! Only thing I disliked were the photos. I wanted to retake, but the cashier informed me that I couldn't because they were already putting away the cameras.. :'( I hated the pics, wish I could return it.
Very original aquarium with a large cylindrical central aquarium. We turn around going up or down. Other specific aquariums are accessible at each floor around the central
This is a great aquarium. Love the giant tank and all the penguins.
It was very nice. We spent about three hours there with our 2 year old. 2 main problems were: 1. It was so crowded, and managing a stroller through the crowd was really tough. And 2. Parking. I was amazed that the only close parking to the aquarium costs 40$ for an hour and half! 40$!!! Insane! Needless to say I searched the area around but to no avail... :( I would expect the aquarium to have some sort of deal with the parking lot for its visitors, but maybe I'm just too naive. Anyway its a really nice aquarium
This is a great aquarium. Lots of exhibits in a small location. Really like the layout and design.
Great for little ones to develop a love of science and see the animals in real life .
They let about twice the amount of people in that should be in there at one time given how small it is. My experience was shoulder to shoulder the whole time. The design of the building is cool with one large tank in the middle. Very pricey though, cost over $100 for 2 adults if you are going to park in the garage right next to the aquarium and stay for 2 hours. Not worth the money in my opinion.
Nice aquarium, but why to many people in there, especially when you have to wait in line for 1.5 h it should be more monitored how many people are in there. Parking is also not supported when you pay more then a 100 bugs for four persons the parking should not be 40 bugs extra.
Very informative place, take good care of their animals and have a good sized touch tank for sharks and rays. Little confusing as to where to go at some points so easy to miss a couple of small tanks of some species of animal, but otherwise very good.
They should really put a limit on how many people they allow in. It was so ridiculously crowded my kids didn't get to see much. Even as we left there were tons of people still flooding in, and barely anyone leaving. I dont know how the hell they all even fit in there.
My 2.5-year-old daughter and I had a great time here. She loves penguins, seals, sea turtles, jellyfish, the giant tank, basically everything. Her favorite was the touching areas where she could touch rays and sea stars. It would be perfect if the smell around penguin exhibit can be reduced a bit, tough after a while I already got used to it.
It was awesome and a great experience for my granddaughter
I loved how the main tank was spiraled with the access ramp with the different floor exhibits radiant from there. I think it allowed more area for viewers.
Fun times, the gift shop (as usual) very expensive.
Love going there for many years. Always feel good time after time after visit.
Mandatory place if traveling to Boston. It is one of the busiest aquariums in the country and one of the main tourist attractions of the city.
Had a fantastic time, everything was great. Please be aware that there are no bathrooms except by entrance. Have the kids go before you start walking around
It was a rainy day today in Boston. We decided to go to aquarium and spend some time. That time ended up being four hours with the highlight being the 200,000 gallon fish tank. Watching Mertle the Turtle and all the hundreds of species of fish. All the employees were very nice and helpful with tons of information.
Food in food cafe had more choices than what I expected. But, keep in mind it closes by three otherwise you can leave go eat and come back with your stamp.
All in all a very enjoyable day, me watching the sea life in tank and wife watching the penguins. Make sure phones are charged because you'll be taking pics and videos all day!
There are different species of fishes and animals that would be interesting for kids and the family.
Best Field trip every i will always miss you 2nd grade so mooch foon
I was really disappointed about it taking me 6 hours from home to get to an aquarium that only consisted of walking up a spiral ramp with little to see. No sharks where there on exhibit. The price was expensive and the aquarium does not own its own parking lot therefore there was no parking validation so that was another high price to pay. I was not the only person that left feeling disappointed a women made the same comment to a staff member on her was out the door with her husband and family.....
Definitely worth the $20 we paid to get a behind-the-scenes tour!!!
Great place for kids young and old :) Go say hello to Myrtle!
Exhibits were mostly clean and staff were friendly. Saw a sad and mutilated piranha that was being bullied by other piranhas. Some other animals were not happy. Sea lions were catatonic and weird. The photography service had bad editing (low effort). Finally, Myrtle is getting too obese in my opinion.
Seriously lacking compared to other states. Way over priced on admission, food and photos
Place is awesome too expensive, no parking. So add another $30.
Daughter had a lot of fun reliving Finding Dory in here. I thought the exhibits were great, esp the penguins and the big "open ocean exhibit" tank in the center of the aquarium. I'd like to go back and really look at some of the displays again when I can go without a 21 month old with the attention span of an ant.
I loved my visit here. So many levels, full of so many exhibits, so much stuff to see and do. The Giant Ocean Tank (their labeling) is one of the most fascinating things I've seen in an aquarium and it just kept going and going. I also especially adored the penguins.
One of my favourite aquariums. The staff is all knowledgeable and kind, and the animals are a joy to watch. The tanks are all beautifully maintained and all of the animals look happy and healthy. Borrowable wheelchairs even makes the winding layout easy for those who can't walk well. Only downside is that because it's so nice it is always crowded on the weekends. If you have the opportunity to go on a weekday, take it.
The seals are hilarious when there's no show goin on. That one in the pic was sitting there making faces and posing.
Very cool aquarium that does great work to help sea life. The main tank is really amazing.
Nice aquarium. Try to get there before closing, it closes pretty early.
i tried to press myself against the glass and got kicked out
Nice aquarium but I've been to nicer aquariums for the price.
I loved the sea lions! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Bag check was wonderful we went straight from there to the airport.
So much fun I love the penguins and the tank in the center is amazing!
Superb aquarium, very didactic, with activities that appeal to both young and old
We had 2 families with 5 kids during our Boston visit. Everyone loved it. Great stop rain or shine. It's located in a busy area with plenty of attractions very close by.
The most beautiful I visited. Very wide variety. Beautiful site located on the pig. A must. We do not even touch the line!
A little pricey for admission but there are lots of exhibits that you can see. They also recently expanded in 2014 so there's even more to see now than before.
There really isn't a ton of stuff, the only cool thing is the seal exhibit outside and that's free to look at. The inside doesn't really have anything cool besides the touch and feel tanks. It isn't worth how much it costs and they don't have their own parking. Save your money go to the muesem instead. It's the same price and they have fish there.
Excellent destination for families. Personally I found it too expensive compared to other aquariums, although still valid
Wonderful as always, but pricey, a week day visit is best.
The New England Aquarium is fun at any age. Love that you can touch the sting rays. There's this area where kids can touch starfish, sea urchins and, snails. Just beautiful sea creatures all over. They have harbor seal training shows. They feed the penguins as soon as the aquarium opens, they're cute to watch. Highly recommend.
Nice big middle tank. Not worth the price for the entry or parking over $80. It was so crowded that you couldn't see what was happening in the shows. We finally just gave up. It didn't live up to the ratings. We have enjoyed many aquariums across this country so don't waist your time and money.
It's an excellent aquarium, but even for Boston it's rather expensive. unless you have children don't buy the combo ticket that also shows you a nature documentary, you can find better ones on Netflix or animal planet.
Best aquarium I have ever been to! By far! Lots to see, well maintained and good explanations of all the exhibits. A must see in Boston.
Aquarium is comparitively small. We were able to finish walking through the whole place in less than 2 hours!
Simon Imax theater is gorgeous. It costs extra and not covered through general admission ticket!
Cool place to visit. A must see in boston. Tonnes of penguins and the best aquarium I've ever seen.
okay so this is not the best aquarium that I've ever been to but it's not too bad especially when you combine it with a ticket price to go see the whales because we had a fantastic experience on the boat we saw a lots of humpback whales breaching as they call it jumping out of the water something that you thought you had to go to Alaska for you don't you can see it right there and Boston and it's a fabulous experience
Good size, not too large, lots of exhibits, lots of seminars. Decent price. Not overwhelming in size like some other aquariums.
Very amazing and intriguing atmosphere and wonderful sea life to view
OMG do not go here on the weekend! There's no control of how many people enter and how many bring strollers. Definitely a hazard if there's a fire or other emergency evacuation! Easy to lose a kid too. After an hour, we couldn't stand any more. Hopefully, next time we'll visit on a weekday. Myrtle the Green Turtle and the seals were cool, though.
Fish and more fish. Some of them look . (Expensive) parking nearby. No aliens or werewolves noted - a giant octopus was present but can be considered par for the course.
Several fish and amphibians. A lot to see and a great learning experience. I like the jelly fish, however the turtles look like they don't swim around enough or something.
Awesome place! Amazing attractions and worth the visit for sure. The only frustration was we bought tickets online but were sent to wait in 3 different lines because nobody seemed to know where to send us, and we ended up having to wait in the longest line last, the one at the IMAX, to get into the aquarium. We didn t understand why we had to wait in the line where people still had to buy the tickets, when we already had tickets and just needed them scanned. But once we were in, it was great!
Fun experience, surprised to see the size of somethings
The New England Aquarium is a world-renowned visitor attraction located in Boston, Massachusetts. With over 1.3 million visitors annually, it is one of the most popular destinations in the city and a major public education resource.
Founded in 1969, the New England Aquarium has been dedicated to promoting ocean conservation and marine research for over five decades. The aquarium's mission is to inspire visitors to protect and conserve our oceans through education, research, and advocacy.
One of the main attractions at the New England Aquarium is its Giant Ocean Tank. This massive cylindrical tank stands at four stories tall and holds over 200,000 gallons of water. Visitors can observe a variety of marine life up close as they swim around this impressive exhibit.
In addition to the Giant Ocean Tank, there are many other exhibits that showcase different aspects of marine life. The Amazon Rainforest exhibit features freshwater fish from South America while the Edge of the Sea exhibit highlights creatures that live along rocky shorelines.
The aquarium also offers various educational programs for visitors of all ages. From school field trips to summer camps and even adult workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about marine science and conservation.
For those interested in getting involved with ocean conservation efforts themselves, there are several volunteer opportunities available at the aquarium. Volunteers can assist with animal care or help educate visitors about ocean conservation issues.
