I went to the emergency room with severe pain on 7/21/17 saw Nurse Practitioner Rodrigo Camacho, explained my pain He order $14 095 worth of test with in an hour he was back in staging room telling me I was "healthy man". Also charges almost $1000 for Doc's time, I never saw a doc. Sent me home by telling me I had gas. Two days later still in pain when to a different hospital and had emergency GallBladder surgery. Also had minor heart attack 7 days in hospital was cheaper than 1 hour at National Park Scam Center. I have filed a grievous claim with Medicare & requesting a fraud investigation.

Horrible experience. Always seems to take a few hours to get service. Tonight in their ER we have been waiting for nearly 5 hours now. 2.5 hours were after they called us back. It's ridiculous. It took an hour for them to bring a blanket for my mom and the lady at the front desk had an attitude when we asked for one. Would not willingly come back unless you have all day or packed enough to spend the night.

With a lengthy stay in the Rehab unit room 1119. "Nan" was treated extremely well every day. Treated with kindness and professionalism. Kudos to the very sweet and attractive nurses and nurses in training.

My daughter had surgery yesterday and theres a nurse on the outpatient Surgery floor that was mad and throwing pens on the desk and had a bad attitude and was so rude to my 9yr daughter telling her to stop crying and tell her what color popsicle she wanted. Im sorry but she needs to go......was NOT very happy with her! But the OR staff and other nurses was AMAZING! Just that one nurse we was NOT impressed with. She had tattoos on her fore arm.

I drove 30 miles one way to visit a patient who was in the hospital there. I had flowers that I had purchased for her in hand to take to her in her room, When I entered the Medical Center through the main entry I went directly to the welcome desk located in the center of the main area where you enter. The time was right at 2:00 PM and the welcome desk was fully staffed with two ladies there to help. I was the only visitor at the desk at the time. I asked for the patient's room number. Her name is some what common and not difficult to spell at all but I did give the ladies the name and spelling> The two ladies looked through a stack of pages for her name and did not find it. They said that she had probably been released and that they did not have her in a room. I left on returned home another 30 miles with the flowers I had bought. When I got home I called the lady's husband to ask when they had been discharged and how she was doing. He said that she had not been discharged and he was sitting in her room as we spoke. She had been in the same room for three days. My entire afternoon was a waste because the ladies at the welcome desk could not find her listed as a patient in their hospital. I do not know the reason why they could not find her name and room number. If you like visitors when you are hospitalized I would not recommend Nation Park Medical Center. I'm glad that this was not a more serious medical issue. If they can not handle such a minor task I dread to think what kind of medical records they keep. A small mistake could be deadly. I did call the hospital to let them know what had happened. They did say that they were "Sorry".

Very disappointed in lack of cleanliness & shabby-looking furniture in waiting rooms. Woodwork in hallways & elevator are worn & everything just needs a big steam/power wash clean!
Good luck keeping quality patients looking like you do at the present time.

My loved one was in ICU here for a extended period of time. Granted some nurses were amazing most of them were careless and dirty. And acted as if they were tired of messing with my loved one. The ICU itsself is dirty and nurses dont go by isolation protocol therefor most of the ICU was in isolation during our stay my loved one contracted 2 anti biotic resistant infections and eventually passed away due to complete lack of care and negligence. I wouldnt recommend someone taking there dog there. And Dr tucker should not be allowed to cut anyone else open!

Got in at 1630 and sat in waiting room for 30 mins with a bloody finger that was dripping everywhere. They seemed to not care and just gave me a bag to put it in. Was taken to a room that was still messy from last patient and had to wait while they cleaned it. I sat for around 45 mins before the nurse vame in and asked" how long have you been here, I didn't know you were here". Didn't see her for another 30 minutes and thats when she said would be back to clean it with some equipment. Didn't see anyone for 30+ minutes so I went to the nurses station. 1 was on computer and mine was gone (Probably with another patient) I asked if I could just sign out to leave so I could handle it somewhere else. The nurse behind counter said mine would be in to see me shortly. She finally came in about 15 minutes later and cleaned it and said the Dr would be in to see me shortly. I waited for another 45 minutes for him to look at it and say keep it clean and it looked fine. He logged everything into to computer in room and left. Nurse came in with a pain med and gauze to wrap it and that was it. Signed out and left the place. The best thing i can say about the experience was the place was clean and Dr and nurse was nice. Shouldn't have took 3+ hrs to look and clean a knife cut. I won't be using them if I ever need to go to am ER I'll drive outta my way to use someone else

STAY AWAY !!! Please read entire review to prevent a repeat of our experience. I hate to say this but this is undoubtedly one of the worst hospitals I have ever experienced having to visit and have relatives as patients in my life. After an accident my 78 year old frail mother-in-law broke her left wrist and a pelvic bone and was taken to this hospital for treatment. The broken wrist required surgery and had to be stitched after surgery and then wrapped. During her 3 night and 4 days stay in this hospital we had numerous problems with the staff in the way she was treated. The problems ranged from lack of care in terms of no bathing at all unless it was done by one of the family members. We had to make the nursing Staff address the many lacerations on her legs where her frail and brittle skin had been torn open by the rocks that she fell on and had not been cared for in surgery or in the emergency ward. Whenever we tried to call during the daytime to check on her the nurses that were taking care of her could not give us any information about her because they claimed they knew nothing and had no information to give us - sometimes claiming that nothing had been entered in her records yet even by noon of that day. Her daily medications were either not administered at all or not in a timely fashion even though we doubled checked when we brought her in to make sure her daily meds were in her profile. There were numerous other problems that we had but they are too many to name so let me just say that this was an experience that I do not wish upon anyone or anyone's relatives. When we got home and her doctor unbandaged her wrist the suture was found to still have dirt around surgery area from her original fall - the area had not been cleansed at all for surgery. The suture that was taken in the 7in long incision was one long circular suture without any knots at all and it was done in a spiral fashion similar to what you would find in a spiral notebook binding. Needless to say this is going to be a horrible looking scar. It truly mystifies me to wonder where this Hospital manages to recruit its medical staff from. I would definitely give this Hospital the lowest possible rating that I could ever think of and would not even venture to use it as a Veterinary service for my animals. I don't think that my dogs would get the care that they would deserve either.

I had gone to National Park on2/2/19 recommended by clinic in hot springs. Constant coughing, chills, etc.
While in the ER test ran to see what's up. I'm told lots of fluid in lungs, white cells high. I'm also told I Do Not have Flu but wants to admit for further details. Thumbs up to my nurse that night.

Now remember I've been told No Flu however my chart labeled Flu and I was put in room 2225 (ISOLATION). Because of this nurses in n out I don't remember 1 single name. Each day im asking about any findings, I'm finally told bronchitis is the culprit even though chart says flu but my x-rays differ. While my man was visiting Monday night few nurses by door which was slightly open and I hadn't had dinner at all. A nurse turned to see us and she says Ms shanks you want this plate, I started to say I would before I knew it she had ran in room put tray in his arms then ran out.So stewing all night I decided come morning I'm outta here.

Morning comes I'm packed, unhooked things, ready to pull iv out nurse walks in I told her I'm leaving, she asked why? Never Ever in my life had I felt degraded, humiliated, I essentially felt like a forgotten dog locked in room and thrown scraps.

I wish staff would remember why they chose profession, but most of all I do hope when it's time for them to be in a bed that he/she is treated the way they want to be treated.

Drs will either ignore you and hide your medical information from you, or yell at you that you are wasting their time and send you home to whatever fate.

I went in for pain in my side and stomach. They brought me back in the ED and got me approved for a dose of morphine. The pain lessened but didn't go away entirely. When the dr came he seemed to go through everything, but he was short with both me and my grandma with me when we we're trying to answer his question. He ordered a CT and that went fine but after that, it was over an hour with no word. That would be fine if we couldn't hear him in the office talking nothing about work for most of that time. When he finally came back, he said it was probably just my period pain and anxiety. I accepted it and didn't think about it until recently at my disability hearing when they said that this visit I am talking about showed that I have moderate diverticulitis. It was not in my notes, not in my discharge papers, and no one said anything to me. How long has this been going on with me? How many times could I have solved my "period pain" with a liquid diet and some antibiotics? And how many patients have had a problem like this hidden?

Just over a year ago my grandma came here for an emergency with heart problems and vertigo. She got a stint and found out that her magnesium had been the lowest that most of these doctors had ever seen. Magnesium being one of the things that helps your heart run. She was kept for nearly a week the first time. She needed magnesium infusions multiple times, including under an hour before she was discharged. 3 days later she was back with low magnesium. They kept her for 2 or 3 days and sent her home again, once again still needing to give another infusion right before she left because it was still classified as too low. The moment she tested in normal range, they had her sign discharge papers. The next time she came back was about a week later. Her diverticulitis was acting up, her magnesium was low, her bp was low, and she could barely walk. They found internal bleeding form the diverticulitis, and that once again her magnesium was dangerously low. This time she needed blood transfusions and more and more magnesium. Finally they thought to find out exactly why she was losing magnesium. They sent her a nephrologist for some reason. He was possibly the rudest person in this state. He sat down and started spouting off that she was wasting his time and that he had more important things to do. He disappeared and that may be the first time I've ever heard my grandma cry. When he came back some days later he said that there is nothing wrong with her and that she needs to stop wasting hospital time. She was there for 2 more days and as soon as they thought the bleeding was done, they started trying to discharge her again. They never found out why she was losing magnesium, and they flat out said they weren't looking anymore. They sent her home after another transfusion, still not knowing why she is losing an essential electrolyte. Our PCP let us in for several emergency appointments with her once she also realised the hospital basically sent her home to die. She set her up on about 1500mg a day plus slomag. For reference most adults need to take in 300-400mg. It was enough to keep her level, or losing it slowly enough that she could come in once a week for a magnesium infusion at the Dr office. Recently she came down to about 1000mg a day plus slomag with no weekly infusions. No one knows why she is still losing magnesium.

My dad was there to have a pace maker put in. Normally, the nurses or aids will bring water, kleenexes, etc while accessing the patient. No water was brought to him in the 3 days of stay unless asked for or I went to get it for him. They didn't give him his daily meds until the Sunday morning he was to be discharged and they were aware of this because I mentioned it to them on more than one occassion. The Drs were great. The surgical team was great and when called the nurses were attentive. The bathroom had blood on the door and there were small bugs on the bathroom floor. Housekeeping didn't come in daily. I was NOT impressed with this hospital. Maybe due to understaffed.

This hospital has become a death sentence for seniors. My Dad was 71 years old and needed heart valve replacement and Dr. Mullins (spelling?) and the people there steered him away from it. Instead they gave him an "Experimental Drug" that was supposed to be good for the heart. I looked up this drug and it was a blood pressure medication, this for a man who's blood pressure was 80s / 40s a lot and at highest 90s / maybe 50. This medication said it "Could help congestive heart failure", which my Dad did have but was not the immediate problem. I see it as they were using him for a cash cow and wanted to provide as little care as possible. After my Dad was sent home he woke up one day, his feet were black and he was suffocating because he was not getting enough oxygen. His heart valves were not pumping enough blood to the lungs and to his extremities. My Dad was dying because of the lack of care he received from this hospital and died as soon as he got to the hospital. I do not see how the people that work here can live with themselves. Now I am watching them do the exact same thing to my step mom, they are not making any attempt to find what is wrong with her, she is in constant pain, and when she comes in the admit her to a psyc ward. She comes in now when she can't live with the pain anymore and is hoping they will finally do something for her. The way they are treating her makes her not want to come in, which is exactly what they want. So what they are doing now is just giving her morphine which is doing nothing whatsoever for her because they just want her to go home, die and stay out of their hair. This is not the care our seniors deserve and I would hope people think about this and watch for these signs of improper care and go elsewhere.

The emergency room is a joke!! They are slow and do not care about their patients! Its so sad how health care professionals just have a don't give a damn attitudes here!! I guess 5 hour wait time is pretty standard for an ER visit!

As a nurse, I'm very familiar with the operations of a hospital and nursing unit. Just WOW smh. I witnessed the worst nursing care imaginable. The unconventional nursing care by more LPNs than RNs was less than standard. The CNAs were overworked and I guess the nurses were too because they seem to not be able to keep up with the demands of the patients. It took no less than 30 minutes to get assistance in any form. There is no hourly rounding on patients. You might not see any staff for about three hours or until it was time for meds.
Like another reviewer mentioned, the nurse never "knew" anything. Reading the chart and following protocols were clearly missing. I couldn't even tell if basic nursing was properly being implemented. I saw med pushers and vital sign checkers. Everything else was up in the air. The only good thing about this hospital was the allowance of one visitor. And boy are the patients glad to see a familiar face. You don't have to be a nurse to see the complete lack of quality, safe care in this facility. The patients could easily pick up on it.
I must add this...small world. Fast forward to a week later, a coworker in TN brings up how nice her visit to Lake Hamilton was. We soon are discussing her mother-in-law's experience at National Park. Well damn, we have very similar stories. Now that's very sad that on different nursing units that the care was equally horrible.

VERY LONG REVIEW. PLEASE READ. Nurse Practitioner ...

VERY LONG REVIEW. PLEASE READ. Nurse Practitioner Rodrigo Camacho has the absolute worst bedside manner I've come across. He is so incredibly rude. I came into the hospital having had pain in my left shoulder for 3 days. If it weren't Saturday, and I hadn't been in crippling pain, on the floor of my bedroom crying, I would have gone to my doctor's office. The joke of a nurse practitioner ordered x-rays of my shoulder. Understandable. He ordered a shot of Toridol 3 hours after I was in a room. It didn't help at all. I told them it wouldn't, but I was willing to try anything to make the pain stop at that point. Seriously didn't even touch it. He ordered x-rays of my ribs. Also understandable, being that the pain is around/under my left shoulder blade. As I'm typing this, I have yet to know what is wrong with me. He ordered a CT scan of my abdomen and pelvic area? Doesn't make sense. Urine sample? Doesn't make sense. Blood sample? Doesn't make sense. So I refused the things that didn't make sense. He had the nerve to say things to me like "What's wrong with you?" "Don't tell me how to do my job." "You don't need to be crying in here, you're scaring other patients." I told him I was crying because I was in pain and he wasn't doing anything about it. Then I looked at my wrist band and saw that Dr. Deluca was supposed to be my attending. So I asked where he was and Rodrigo Camacho said he was seeing patients. Very sick patients. As though I didn't matter. So I was done with him and demanded to see his superior. Can anyone guess who that was? Dr. Deluca. Thank Heavens. That man is a godsend and the only reason I give the ER 5 stars. Okay, my nurse was friendly, too. She used to work for my boyfriend and was never once rude to me. Dr. Deluca agreed that the other tests Rodrigo had ordered didn't make sense. He apologized several times on his behalf, said he'd talk to him, and promised to take care of me. He even gave me a hug because of how upset I was by the treatment I had received. He handled my pain, looked over my x-rays, and now I'm waiting to be discharged. I got here around noon, it's 5:15. Dr. Deluca came to see me not even 30 minutes ago. Oh, and by the way, once my pain was treated, not only could I move my arm without sobbing from the pain in my shoulder, but my crying was no longer "disturbing other patients." This is the only ER I will ever use as long as I'm in Garland County. I recommend this hospital and it's associated clinics regularly. I even hope to work here someday. But from this point forward I will warn everyone to make sure that they are seeing a REAL PHYSICIAN and not some joker like Rodrigo Camacho, NP. I'm not saying Nurse Practitioners are all bad, I see a LPN at my doctor's office. I just think people should know that this man, Rodrigo Camacho, NP, is not a doctor. He doesn't tell you that he isn't a doctor. And he orders unnecessary tests. MAKE SURE YOU ARE SEEING A REAL DOCTOR. And Dr. Russell Deluca deserves a raise.

The entire staff at the Heart Center is truly amazing. My husband Robert had an Echo and stress test today. Everyone from the front desk to the staff in back are like family. They put your mind at ease immediately, and walk you through each step. Thank you all so much.

I fell down the side of the Mountain breaking my left leg (spiral break) right hip (requiring a complete hip replacement) and tore my rotator cuff and ligaments in my right arm. I spent 5 days in the hospital. The nurses were wonderful and I loved Dr. Birk. He was a great doctor with a great bedside manor who did a wonderful job putting me back together again. It s been 5 years since my accident but I can t thank them enough. I am from Houston and they even went out of their way to help prepare my ride back to Houston, TX in the back seat of my husbands truck. They anticipated all of my needs for the ride back. I can t thank them enough. I spent the better part of a year in a wheel chair and 4 years of Physical Therapy and today walk without even the slightest limp. I still have a rod in my left leg but no real issues. All doctors that have checked my leg since all say Dr. Birk did a beautiful job .

Good medical staff but they have horrible billing department, they do not care about the patient's attempt to make payments on bills or to work with them on what insurance didn't pay.

I will never use this hospital again, or any of it's subsidiaries, that is for sure.

At 37 weeks I went into labor and delivery after my water breaking at home and contractions 2 mins apart was advised that my water hadn't broke and I could go home, an hour later my son was born naturally because there was no time for any medication. Treated horrible and it isn't very clean. Please for your safety do not use this hospital

My mother is a heart PT and is in the hospital frequently and on the second floor. There is a nurse on that floor that my mother has had almost ever time she's in there named Rhonda and she is very rude and never seems to know anything nor will she attempt to find out. Some people do not need to be nurses and I'm afraid she's one.

The bedside manner of most of my nurses was absolutely abhorrent. While in the e.r., I was brought a bedside potty full of someone else's poop. Once I got admitted, they brought me a food tray and placed it across the room and out of reach and told me I would have to call for help. When they bedpanned me, they left me sitting in it and when they DID remove it, they left me laying in wet bedding. I pushed the call button for over an hour just trying to get my iv line hooked back up and one OMG my visitors actually did the leg work and brought equipment from another room because the stuff in my room was broken or missing. When they approached me about billing in the emergency room they were very unprofessional asking me how I Intended to pay then and there. Once they were informed it was workers compensation they still somehow got my insurance information which I never provided and billed me instead of comp so now I'm having a major headache on reimbursement. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here let alone someone dying or injured. This place is an overpriced joke. Billed me over $10000 for equipment to bring me used and broken equipment. Shame on you.

If you choose to use the ER instead of your doctor...

If you choose to use the ER instead of your doctor then you are part of the problem for the long waits. The staff triages the level of emergency that each patient is experiencing and unfortunately some people know exactly what to say to be seen quickly. Society is the cause of poor medical treatment in our community not the staff that is caring for you. If your sick for four days go to your doctor not the ER, if your son can sit for hours hurting take him to a urgent care clinic not the ER. People with true emergencies and the staff suffer because of peoples inability to use our health care system not just the ER. Thank you to all of the staff that work hard to care for ungrateful people!

Pathetic excuse for a healthcare facility. Understaffed and what little staff there is does a terrible job. When my grandfather got his hip replaced there a couple days ago they didnt even verify his identity or which side they were operating on before taking him back to the OR. They neglected to give him a bath during his stay and even though they were aware he was dietbetic they would consisently bring him regular trays of food and never monitored his blood sugar either. The cherry on top was when they came in and started wheeling him back for another surgery for "a blockage in his leg" that he was not made aware. Thankfully, the other patient he was sharing a room with stopped them because it was actually him that was due for that surgery. So, this hospital nearly let my grandfather die from high blood sugar and came real close to performing a surgery on him that he wasnt meant to have. This place needs to be shut down due to negligence.

Came in because I have a heart condition that can cause to me to pass out and my chest was hurting I was not only treated horrible but i was put in a room crying my eyes out while my husband had to deal with seeing me in pain only to have been forgotten about. For four hours I was the only one in the waiting room when i got there. This place is trash sorry to see so much money wasted. It didnt help anything or one. Also when I go to leave I see nurses and doctors in their area all laughing. If I could I would give them a zero.

This is a horrible hospital. The rooms are dated, small, and dirty. They discharged my father with an untreated stage II pressure ulcer, a pulmonary embolism, and being too weak to even transfer from the wheelchair to the car, which was a nightmare, due to no case management coming to assess his possible home health needs. The nurses I personally witnessed were not very well trained, and did not/could not answer questions appropriately when I inquired regarding my father s condition.
