I had gone to National Park on2/2/19 recommended by clinic in hot springs. Constant coughing, chills, etc.
While in the ER test ran to see what's up. I'm told lots of fluid in lungs, white cells high. I'm also told I Do Not have Flu but wants to admit for further details. Thumbs up to my nurse that night.
Now remember I've been told No Flu however my chart labeled Flu and I was put in room 2225 (ISOLATION). Because of this nurses in n out I don't remember 1 single name. Each day im asking about any findings, I'm finally told bronchitis is the culprit even though chart says flu but my x-rays differ. While my man was visiting Monday night few nurses by door which was slightly open and I hadn't had dinner at all. A nurse turned to see us and she says Ms shanks you want this plate, I started to say I would before I knew it she had ran in room put tray in his arms then ran out.So stewing all night I decided come morning I'm outta here.
Morning comes I'm packed, unhooked things, ready to pull iv out nurse walks in I told her I'm leaving, she asked why? Never Ever in my life had I felt degraded, humiliated, I essentially felt like a forgotten dog locked in room and thrown scraps.
I wish staff would remember why they chose profession, but most of all I do hope when it's time for them to be in a bed that he/she is treated the way they want to be treated.
