How this cabin comes to 3.7 is a mystery to me. They only prepare doctors and certainly not provide care! The nursing staff is for the most part dissatisfied and does nothing but complain. Calling a nurse with a bell in bed? Feel free to wait 15 minutes. The "doctor" calls back for the result? Great, please call me mobile because I work and I am not at home during the day. No, call landline anyway. AND also pissed off when you say something about it.
Doctors are NOT there, they only have students who can practice on the patients. Worthless!

As far as I have experience with it and just hospital. Good precaution, communication and aftercare.
They work fine with the search for solutions in the field of blood transfusion free surgery. In that respect, successful treatments in the field of open-heart surgery, gynecology and orthopedics were seen.

Nursing is great and super nice on department A3 and B5. Can the Heerlen hospital take another example! !!
Always there for a chat with a smile and sometimes a tear. As a regular patient you can count on the necessary jokes, jokes and strokes of the male staff. They make the stay that this time again difficult moments with them bearable. Thanks to boys and girls!

Excellent hospital and staff. Because it is a university hospital you sometimes have to deal with someone in training, but the advantage is that a senior is always called in for the definitive diagnosis.
Very positive about the results.

In the first half of July I was operated on a complex aneurysm in the aorta. I can only say that I have the greatest possible respect for the operations team led by Prof. Schurink. The same applies to all employees and employees of the nursing ward, the catering and the pharmacy: exemplary and often led to a lump in my throat of emotion. Really great!

I was admitted via call from my GP. Everything was arranged quickly & professionally. Within 5 hours diagnosed and operation completed and recovering in bed. Lovely staff, a caring service offered with my wishes and painful experience considered at all times. Thanks to everyone for allaying all my fears and taking care of me.

If I can, I really want to give the 0. I have had more experience with this hospital for a few years. Early on he receives 2 points. very bad today. can still 1 point, because there is no 0 you can choose. The operator immediately hung up the phone twice. Said 3 times "I don't understand you at all" and immediately hung up the phone when I just got "hello" or my name out of my mouth. The sixth time I didn't say hello. she heard from me "You don't understand me at all, you have to look for another job. I will also give strength." she has a moment for me. HAPPY! unhappy! She gave an unclear answer you have to send another email. My question is that we are on holiday next week or we may have to reschedule an appointment to another day.

She has to go back to school or to mother.

Too many students who are still green behind the ears, and therefore a lack of expert doctors, this is very detrimental to the right help, so we have yet to go to another hospital with doctors who have years of experience.

Already waiting for 4 days for an operation of my 72 year old mother. But because it's not an emergency, she has to wait. If there is an inflammation, she will be helped. What kind of world do we actually live in? Terrible how they treat people. No communication at all

Racist is little to describe the attitude of the personnel of this clinic, including the doctors, to non-Dutch speakers. I had some tests done and instead of reading the results for me after the tests were completed, the phycologist, Dr Friessen, made me wait for about 6 months. Finally, when he found out that I am leaving the Netherlands, he did not write a report with my anamnesis in English for me to show to a doctor outside Holland - of course he promised he would do but this turned out to be a blunt lie (he did not write the report in Dutch either so I could not consult it with my Dutch doctor before leaving). The whole testing exercise was time-consuming and absolutely in vain. Of course it was all paid by my Dutch health insurance at the time, and thus taken out of my salary.

Very bad experience with the outpatient ophthalmology of this hospital unfortunately. The ophthalmologist in question (Drs. B. Meskhat) turned out to be very unfriendly, even anti-social in her treatment, not at all interested and indifferent.

Furthermore, I was not well informed about my medical file, while it should be known to her.

Maybe she had a bad day, so she still gets that benefit from the doubt. But if this does not turn out to be noticeably better during the following office hours, I should inform the INSPECTION for healthcare about the actions of this woman.

Some of the staff is racist and rude but some are very kind professionals. I just had surgery in France and called the maastricht hospital to know if it was possible for me to continue my treatments there. The first man who answered was incredibly rude, as soon as I nicely asked him if he spoke english. I tried to tell him about my condition, he cut me and literally asked me "what do you want?", to later send me to another part of the hospital. This time, the lady who answered was very kind, she took the time to listen to me and even redirected me to the right centre for my treatment.

Very bad hospital! Almost cost my daughter her life while she just turned out to be healthy .. This is not the last one said. Here I have had to deal with various "specialists" who are all lying and who need to be re-trained. Fortunately we were on time. It took me almost 1.5 years to resolve their mistakes.

Well, academic hospital ... You can follow everything yourself and I have to call 3 times to get 1 appointment that just needs to be scheduled, because they keep forgetting me. Also lost my medical information up to 3 times. Operator always claimed that they did not receive anything. While the day before I had personally handed over the file to the counter. When put on hold for 20 minutes, she was lucky she still found it. Scheduled telephone appointment with the doctor will not be called again. Really a mess, seems very unprofessional and creates so little confidence. Waiting for the outpatient clinic does indeed take a long time, it is just a very large hospital with many patients, but the treatment is just good in quality. The medical knowledge is there. Despite the crowds, the doctors and nurses still have personal attention for you and they take the time to answer your questions.

Disinterested attitude of nursing staff in MDL department, and little to no communication with patient. Too bad, especially when someone is seriously ill and in a lot of pain. Then a caring attitude and Communication can make a world of difference.

Appalling hospital. My daughter is very ill and can not even keep water down. She has returned home, apparently they won't give an infusion until she is so dehydrated that she can no longer stand ! She had a similar experience a few years ago, when she collapsed and a friend drove her to the emergency department. Paracetamol was all she was given! Paracetamol was also the answer to her current situation. Don't get sick in Maastricht or rescue yourself over the border !!

Very bad hospital. You are not treated as a human ...

Very bad hospital. You are not treated as a human here but as a number.
Tumor diagnosed a few years ago after a lot of amateurish examinations on my mother the size of an orange.
I immediately went to the surgery counter to make an emergency appointment. My mother was in a lot of pain.
They didn't operate there was a waiting list. According to the desk clerk, I also had to make an appointment behind her back, otherwise that would have consequences.

We then got a contact person to call if it was going to be life-threatening. My mother, meanwhile, was already on morphine because of the pain.
Called the contact a few times that it really was no longer working and that mother was in pain. She didn't want to know about this. We eventually had to threaten with a lawyer to have my mother admitted. Scandalous!

Operation finally succeeded, after which a long suffering followed for me as a caregiver and certainly for my mother. Irradiations, chemo. She has been hospitalized several times because she was dehydrated from diarrhea. They didn't want to take her in nor did she want to feed her IV when she lost more than 10 pounds. The diarrhea was normal, said the oncologist .. nothing could be done about it.
My mother then put them alone in a room where she could die. The nurses murmured she wouldn't make it anyway.
My sister then had to threaten again with measures if AZM Maastricht would not provide infusion nutrition.
Eventually they tacked. My mother then recovered thanks to my sister.

In my mother's last days she lay exhausted and completely empty on the couch at home. Internal bleeding had caused anemia. She was so weak she couldn't stand. I had to change her ostomy, etc. I worked 5 shifts and was not helped by the municipality of Maastricht because I had too much income .... this was also a difficult time for me.
My sister, crying, called the out-of-hours GP and begged them to see my mother. After hours of calling and waiting, a doctor from the GP station came by. He concluded that my mother was still in good spirits (good with) and that she therefore did not need to be admitted, even though her body was dying after death. So she was not taken. She would receive a blood transfusion the next day. I then walked upstairs angry. I couldn't believe what the doctor said.
The day after, mother had a blood transfusion.
The ambulance brothers saw that my mother was completely exhausted and dying sickly no. They asked my sister which department my mother should be taken to.
My sister said department? The hospital has determined that she must return home. The brothers looked at each other in disbelief and brought my mother home. They had just put her on the sofa at home when the Valkenburg hospice called that my mother could go there. My mother was so happy that she was back home, I will never forget the look in her eyes when she looked at me when she heard she had to go to the landlady. She knew at that time that she would never return to her house where she lived for nearly 65 years.
She did not live long after this. She was transferred to another landlady in Maastricht. There she was put into a daze and after 3 days of stay she only slept all day. She eventually died of dehydration and bleeding.

No, I don't have a good word for AZM Maastricht. You are a bunch of crooks. How you deal with human lives is truly incredible. You don't even earn 1 star yet.
I am not even talking about the ignorance of most doctors.

I never hope to be admitted to your hospital if I get sick. I'd rather throw myself in front of the train.

The doctors are friendly and helpful and I have no...

The doctors are friendly and helpful and I have no doubt that they are the ones who have the most knowledge and skill at certain medical fields. However, the administration or maybe I should say the nurse team is so bad that it ruined all my impression about this hospital.
After surgery of my son with general anesthesia, my son should be able to wake up within a couple of hours but he only woke up after one day because they FORGOT to provide him glucose.
Then, they FORGOT to provide him food for continuous two days although we complain every time. So every time we have to complain to get food, otherwise no food. After two days, they finally realized that there was a MISTAKE in their database.
During conversion with one of the doctor, both we and the doctor realized that the record about my son in their system is wrong. She would have made a wrong decision if she had not talked with us.
Many times, different nurses made completely different decisions, which is so scaring!
The experience is so bad that it is full of chaos and mistakes. I can not think about how could it be worse. We do not dare to trust any one of them anymore and changed to another hospital. Then everything solved!

This afternoon recorded at department C5, for tomorrow an operation.
Is the whole room / toilet / bathroom not cleaned. In the toilet / bathroom really all dirty with in the trash poo diapers. In the room itself food leftovers, dirty bed etc. Reported on arrival, the "cleaning ladies" would still come. Again asked at 6.30 pm and there appeared to be no more ladies. No solution so the toilet / bathroom / room itself cleaned with hand disinfectant. Had put the dirty diaper in the hall, they wanted to put them back !!! Have clearly said that that really did not happen. Are you recording? Then it seems so normal nowadays to ask for a clean room ...

Seen dozens of times in Antonius Hospital Sneek be...

Seen dozens of times in Antonius Hospital Sneek because of shoulder luxations. Wasn't taken seriously at all because shoulder was already replied when I was seen by the local HAP. Therefore, the X-ray was always good. after being seen for the 27th time finally forwarded to UMC +.

Fortunately received very well and received an appointment at the outpatient clinic orthopedics. When I was on my way to Maastricht, I come from Sneek myself, I was called to ask if I could turn around because Dr. van den Boogaart had been called away for emergency surgery.

I said that it was quite difficult since I was already in Eindhoven.
It was said, well just come then. we will arrange something.

When I got there I was first seen by another orthopedist.
He said that he did not want to discuss anything directly with Dr. van den Boogaart. (Which I initially had my appointment with.)

While I was going to take an X-ray there was consultation and when I returned to the outpatient clinic I was told that Dr. van den Boogaart had to finish the operation and wanted to see me for a while.

After LO (Physical examination) he said that he didn't see anything at first, but since I had pain complaints he wanted to start a treatment plan with me. This would then be a keyhole surgery.

This was the first time I have been under general anesthesia. Dr. van den Boogaart arranged for me that I could stay in the AZM / UMC + family home the night before my operation.

In the end I had surgery and I don't know how they did it but they quietly put me under anesthesia. When I woke up I was told I have multidirectional shoulder instability. It was also said that my other shoulder has also been checked and that the same thing is going on.

During recovery in the hospital I have been treated very well and normally, which I find a very positive point. not that you are treated as if you don't know anything about it. (Even if you don't know anything about it.)

If I ever have to have an operation again I go to this hospital because the treatment, information and care is just very good.
Also for people who are afraid of anesthesia.

I don't understand that this hospital still has a number of stars. I myself hear one bad story after the other around me. Incl. My own experience. I'm here with dystonia (neck tilt) so put out. Apparently I imagined it. All that pain and crooked hanging neck. Fortunately they found out what the cause was in Tongeren. That miserable neurologist at azm has caused many delays since my doctor completely on his mind went off and sent me to a psychologist rather thus then I got further examination. Super very simplistic as though my back was crooked and I could not even walk normally. Luckily it was obvious to the neurologist in Tongeren that it was a dystonia. Soon I will walk straight and without pain again. But not thanks to the AZM where all doctors are dissatisfied.

I, as well as other fellow patients, had a very bad experience with a single nurse. They had no empathy at all. They were just "monsters." Is also an official complaint made by father neighbor in the hospital! After that it went better! But in general they are also nice and friendly at UMC Maastricht. Unfortunately, those few dragons ruin it for the benevolent. Good aftercare so far and again friendly. Very good orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ten Broeke who helped me with an operation of almost 5 hours (!) On my hip bowl / hip head and a small tear in the pelvis. After less than three months I am already very far with the recovery.

The appointment on the Urology clinic has not been continued 3 times. The Appointment had already been rescheduled twice without any telephone consultation and the third time I only got to hear at the desk that the appointment had to be rescheduled. As a new patient of this hospital, this does not inspire confidence. This type of planning does not only appear to be a crime for the patient, but certainly also for the employees who have to make the agreements. This causes unnecessary extra work and is therefore not commercially responsible. For customer orientation and efficiency a big inadequate for the UMC in Maastricht.

Nice big hospital. You hope that you never have to come here, but in the end you cannot escape it. I have come to believe that I was a little boy. I've seen a lot change in this hospital. Positive of course. The waiting times are shorter. Where you used to have to wait more than an hour, you now have a much faster turn. At the moment I can only speak about the Hart en Vaat Center. Really top arranged. All nice specialists who want to help you in every possible way. Really a top hospital.
