Last night (4/5/19) I had to take Beans cat to Brantham hospital facility. He d been unwell for some time and I d been chasing it round for weeks. After blood tests, urine tests, X-ray and two thorough physicals at another vet practice, who kept telling me everything was normal despite him either not eating or vomiting violently when he did, I was at my wits end. Saturday morning he was very lethargic and didn t pick up at all. At 5 o clock, in total despair and worried about the amount of discomfort he was in, I rang Highcliff Brantham. A 45 minute drive later he was there. Marie examined him, and gave me the list of options and what she thought. I left him with the possibility of surgery but that was dependent on blood tests and the results. Marie scanned him (which hadn t been even suggested before) and did the bloods. Sadly the option of surgery was no longer there. It turned out that our Beans was, as I kept saying, very unwell. With the blood results it seems it was more than highly likely that the monstrous blockage he suffered was very probably lymphoma. Marie called me twice to update me in a 3 hour time frame. They made him as happy as possible with pain relief and fluids until I could get back. He passed peacefully away surrounded by those he knew and loved.
I cannot thank them enough for the way everything was dealt with. Finally I felt that he was being looked after properly. I know the outcome wasn t a bouncing back to life cat but I think, his condition having been missed for so long by others, it was inevitable. Highcliff team, you are amazing. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do
