I am staying at the midland for my wedding for 4 days. The staff at reception could be a little more friendly and help, however Danielle who helped us during the day was amazing. She was on hand to help us with everything during the day and made it run smoothly.

Paid a lot of money for the Midland Suite. I only stayed for 1 night. My room was 30 minutes late which ruined the evening a little as it had a knock on effect for what I can for in with my planned schedule. Very grand but the air con was old and on the blink. I mentioned on the way out and just got oh sorry..... no offer to make anything up to me or give me any compensation.

Staff were a little rude during our grad ball, overly priced for a hotel. Could have been a lot better but they know how to throw a party. Music was amazing. The chicken wrapped in bacon main we had was amazing.

Very grand and shiny on the outside, room was clean enough but look tired. Bath drain was blocked on the first morning - unblocked by the time I returned. Breakfast was good, more than enough to chose from. That fish and chip? Superb!

Can't complain, the Midlands is certainly a Neopolitan city. The city centre is made up of the true color of the displaying the old trademarks of the city. Places of interest like Albert Square still hold the water fountain to the commemoration of Queen Victoria. The city Hall is another hallmark of the city. The airport has 3 terminal and is big accommodating international flights. One of the notable hotels include Radisson Blu Edwardian and the Capital Hotel. The Old Trafford hosts the Manchester United club while the Etihad Stadium is home to Manchester City football club. There is no doubt Manchester is the city of football as these two clubs have dominated the Premier League in UK for over 20 years. The City is well planned hence allowing for proper development. Dinning in Manchester, no problem. There are more than enough restaurants to satisfy your taste. Ranging from the top echelon restaurants on the likes of Albert's place to the middle and lower class catering. Pictures attached shows a big burger with wings and drinks all for less than 10 pounds sterling. There is tram train and city buss to move around including taxis and Uber services.

A great venue for conference events, and perfect location. Overpriced bar, particularly for Manchester, and the rooms and bedroom corridors are definitely showing their age, but it's a safe option as long as you're spending the companys option and not your own!

The midland is a beautiful traditional hotel that is really well built. That's an odd thing to note, but the wide solid corridors are dead silent at night - you won't hear people walking past late at night. The rooms are massive and well presented. I had a better night sleep here than at jury's. Breakfast is ok, so long as it's inclusive in your stay. Mega expensive otherwise!

A truly beautiful venue with good conference rooms. At times a bit stuffy but to be expected with such a heritage building. WiFi was fast and food and service was fantastic. Was expecting a sit down meal at the end but I think that was decided by the company not the Midland itself and the food was still lovely. Wish I could have afforded to stay there!

I'd have loved to be able to give this a 5* review because it's a classy, high-end hotel and most of the experience was absolutely what you'd expect for the money.

However, I have to subtract 1 star for the fact that when we arrived the air conditioning was faulty, resulting in an uncomfortable room like a sauna. The controls had an error message and the temperature couldn't be adjusted. I called reception who said they'd had several reports and they sent someone from maintenance. To his credit he arrived promptly within 10-15 minutes. He also said it happened a lot but assured us we shouldn't have any more trouble. Unfortunately, the problem reoccurred during the night, the room got hot and my partner and I woke up totally dehydrated after an awful night's sleep. We hadn't wanted to call maintenance in the night and get dressed whilst they came to fix the thing at 4am, so we put up with it and mentioned it upon checking out. The staff at the desk were very good and made a gesture of goodwill as compensation for the issue.

Were it not for the aircon issue I'd have rated it 5 stars and I'm sure everyone would have a great time here.

Visited with a friend to take advantage of The French restaurant. Despite some decoration work and the noise associated with it, lunch was superb. I had the 6 course taster that came with 2 amuses. All superb.

Having stayed here a number of times, the Midland hotel has some great features and staff but as some rooms need a little TLC it does depend on the price you have paid as to weather it is dissapointing or not. The entrance hall, restraint More

Spent two nights in The Midland Hotel at the weeke...

Spent two nights in The Midland Hotel at the weekend, being there for a wedding which was taking place in the hotel. It's the type of hotel I just love... grand, old-fashioned and elegant, and there is great deal to like.

Our room (124) was a good size, smartly decorated, with nice touches like a safe, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, and some complimentary mineral water. The beds were super comfortable.

Staff were all helpful and friendly (special mention for Vilma, who was so happy and cheerful each day at breakfast). The hotel has a grand, impressive lobby and all the common areas were equally plush and smart. There is free, fast Wi-fi throughout the hotel. Breakfast was fine, with a good selection of hot and cold items, and also some more special items available to order for a small additional cost. Location is excellent, just a few minutes from key attractions and the central shopping area.

There were a few things which could have been better: the safe in our room didn't work initially (but was very quickly fixed after I reported it), the room windows don't open much, and the air conditioning was a little bit noisy.

But all in all we really enjoyed our brief stay in The Midland, and I'm happy to give 5 stars for the overall experience. It's not a cheap place to stay, but if I were to visit Manchester again, I'd love to stay in The Midland again.
