I'd have loved to be able to give this a 5* review...

I'd have loved to be able to give this a 5* review because it's a classy, high-end hotel and most of the experience was absolutely what you'd expect for the money.

However, I have to subtract 1 star for the fact that when we arrived the air conditioning was faulty, resulting in an uncomfortable room like a sauna. The controls had an error message and the temperature couldn't be adjusted. I called reception who said they'd had several reports and they sent someone from maintenance. To his credit he arrived promptly within 10-15 minutes. He also said it happened a lot but assured us we shouldn't have any more trouble. Unfortunately, the problem reoccurred during the night, the room got hot and my partner and I woke up totally dehydrated after an awful night's sleep. We hadn't wanted to call maintenance in the night and get dressed whilst they came to fix the thing at 4am, so we put up with it and mentioned it upon checking out. The staff at the desk were very good and made a gesture of goodwill as compensation for the issue.

Were it not for the aircon issue I'd have rated it 5 stars and I'm sure everyone would have a great time here.
