Nice lobby and party rooms, friendly Staff, rooms really in need of a makeover. Spa small but two showers. Breakfast no longer of this time. Unfortunately way too expensive for what it is.
Lovely food and staff at a social event for the university
Stayed one night for a concert. The room was very comfortable, bit of a weird Wii style remote for the interactive TV. Had drinks in the lobby bar and visited the basement Spa,both very good.
Attended a professional function, making use of their conference facilities. Room was smart and everything required was provided.
The university held an event here but the service was poooor. If I could, I will definitely give zero star to the service without any hesitation unfortunately.
great service, the staff was very friendly and they were so nice with me and my family. I stayed there 2 nights, the bedrooms were spacious, the view was wonderful. I am so glad I have chosen them.
Luxury hotel! Exceptional service, clean rooms. Planning to return with my partner.
Graduation ceremony held there, seemed well organised.
Gorgeous hotel, spacious and quiet with excellent staff. Hoping to stay here in the new year.
Beautiful Hotel...not my first stay at the Midland...Food was excellent..good breakfast provided..a special thank-you to Stephen Norris for helping us out when our taxi to the Airport didn't turn up.. very professional in his duties..big thumb's up
Great atmosphere and ambience but you can wait several lifetimes to get served.
Very nice hotel. Excellent restaurant and function room on the ground floor with periodic music being played and a fantastic selection of drinks. Perfect spot for post-work recuperation.
It looks impressive and it isn't cheap but the inside is somewhat underwhelming. Our room was ok at best, nothing special but a little worn and shabby as was the overall look of the hotel. Enjoyed the gym and it was nice to relax in the spa but the pool is very small and even with the refurbishment, when you looked higher than a meter in the changing rooms for example, you could see paint crumble.
Service was professional and polite.
No parking at the hotel was an annoyance and they should perhaps make a discount deal with a nearby car park.
Wifi connection was good in the room and also in the gym on lower ground floor.
Overall in my opinion it wants to appear more than it is and I wouldn't stay again as it's not really worth it.
Lovely afternoon tea with amazing cakes and scones and fantastic selection of tea. The kids afternoon tea was a lovely touch. Service outstanding.
Absolutely fantastic experience! The Midland suite was gorgeous ! Food in mrcoopers was excellent and all the staff very friendly! Great weekend !
Very good hotel with excellent food accommodation and spa
Beautiful modern food, with some excellent friendly service.
Xmas do here. Considering it's meant to be posh, not that impressed.
A Manchester institution, as classy now as it was when it opened
Lovely place hotel staff are fantastic, very welcoming. Only issue for me was cleanliness of room-stains on carpet + dusty lights
Fab historic hotel with a gorgeous spa and great restaurant
I have never stayed there but I have organised events there for 350 people and they are great to work with. Some problems, but these are quickly ironed out as long as you keep good communication with the staff there.
Great place clean and tidy. Staff very helpful food is great.
Rooms were very good and cleaned daily, and the cleaners navigated the mess well. Bathrooms were of no issue and the facilities were spot on. No odd smell in the room for me, although my relative's had something of water damage. I suppose thats the catch-22 of England lol.
I had an event held here a couple months back. All of my things were stolen from me, including my coat! I am still, till this day, very upset about my loss. I found that the catering staff seemed very unprofessional on the day. Security on the night were very unfriendly and had little sympathy. They did nothing to help on the night nor the day after when I came in to speak to the manager. When I spoke to the manager, he refused to take any responsibility, nor offer any help. I am appalled of the service and the way that I was treated. I will never step foot in this hotel again.
