It's really nasty, dirty, and shabby. The room had an unpleasant smell and the photos do not match reality, it is not a family environment. In social areas, social distancing is not respected and the staff does not seem to care.
Older type resort, rooms are a bit outdated. The basic facilities are okay. The hot water in the room is instantly boiling hot, the hottest I ever felt anywhere. The air conditioning is super cold. The room balcony needs major updating, at the very least change the chairs. Room service was quick and good. I would recommend this place if your looking for low key no frills good basic service. Pool is nice...
Top location in the pocono mountains. Offering lots of outdoor activities. The rooms can use updating. Hotel Staff was caring, good and helpful.
I LOVE MOUNT LAUREL!!!!! my family goes every summer. there is so much to do. there are soooo many fun activities. great prices, amazing staff, well kept hotel, very fun arcade, awesome rooms, and much much more. definitely recommend to all! especially families with kids!
This hotel takes the record for the worst place I have ever stayed. The rooms where disgusting, there was mold everywhere, the beds had the same linen as when they opened this place a decade ago, the filter in the vents where never cleaned.
I wasn't able to sleep at all, in middle of the night I went to the front desk to try my luck in a different room and the guy behind the front desk tells me there is nothing he can do and I have to wait till 730 am.
Save your money and time.
Stay far away.

I was really looking forward for a nice vacation but apparently this place doesn't like accommodating to the 21st century.
So I want to give this place 5 stars. But I can't. The hotel is mid transition in ownership and management. They are also in the middle or a lot of repairs and renovations which is why I give them 4 instead of 3. They are in the process of fixing everything I have to complain about.
There is a mold problem on some of the rooms (not the hotel rooms themselves, so anyone sleeping here, rest easy), but they have already started addressing that.
They have a few leaks and I watched ceiling tiles collapse from water damage, maintenance was immediately on it and working on it before I could shout boo.
The AC was out in one section of the building, which bad timing for a convention. Again, they are already working on it.
The hotel rooms I was in were all goregous rooms, the bathrooms did not feel like a hotel but more like I went and visited my grandmother. Thankfully the one with better taste and not that God aweful floral print that covers freaking everything! (Love you Grandma!)
The staff were polite, nice, and I forgive them for the small mutiny I over heard from house keeping. They were not prepared for an anime convention to take over (we were their first).
Can't wait to be back next year and see what they've done with the place.
Very affordable and the staff was great: friendly and professional, especially the head chef that had to fill in as the bartender. My only gripe is everything was outdated and a little worn out. I do think they are slowly renovating though. I hope they do, as it would make the experience so much better. But, I will definitely be back for a weekend with the kids and it makes for a great affordable local overnight getaway as a couple.
Placed needed clean up inside and out. Grass needed cut. Repair needed fixed. No hot water people next to us came in are room cause the door didn't lock very unsafe for my family. Staff was rude .. Never again
The outside appear was less then desirable. Wasn t able to check in until 4pm. The restaurant closed @ 7pm. The inside/outside pool was nice. The room was decent but not worth the price!
We stayed here for a week over Labor Day. We had a blast! I had read the other reviews before we left and was a little concerned, but we were so pleased! Each staff member that we were in contact with was friendly, helpful and personable. Michele at the front desk is fabulous. They had a cookout over Labor Day weekend on the patio with live music. They are doing renovations, but a place this big its going to take some time and patience. We enjoyed ourselves and we both said we would be back! Oh, the BED ARE SUPER COMFY TOO!! The maintenance man that was grilling up food Labor Day weekend was super nice and a good cook as well!! We will be back!

The staff is fantastic! The resort has new ownership and is under renovation, so lots of updating is going on right now. It's still a beautiful spacious resort with lots of activities! My son just ran his anime convention here, and it was great!
Great place! The pool and hot tub could use some attention. The pool is either ice cold or hot tub warm.. and one of the hot tubs is way too hot and the other one is cold. They need to figure out how to regulate it.
Signage to get to the resort from main roads were hard to see (if not using a gps) they have some cool activities to do on the grounds. We went horseback riding.
I have visited this resort for 4th of July weekend, I had really good time with my family, the new owner is a very nice person and will go off his way to accommodate the client. Don't think twice enjoy this Vacation.
We took a group of 60 people on a retreat here and it was awesome! The staff was so helpful every step of the way, the rooms were HUGE (newly renovated) and super comfortable, and the participants got to enjoy the amazing facilities. The hotel is big and sprawling with lots to explore. The facilities team was also extremely accommodating in making sure we had everything we needed the entire time, whether it was an extra table or a reserved billiards table just for us. Would definitely return for a similar retreat in the future!
If I could give zero stars, I would. They tried to charge me $150 for my service animal, then put me in a dirty room because I had a service animal and refused to give me a renovated room because of my service animal even though they were available and promised to me. They promised to return my stay but have reneged by giving me wrong phone numbers and emails and then ignoring my calls and emails to the front desk. Highly disorganized and rude especially when they refer to guests by their ethnicity. A child was wondering and crying in the hallway and when I called lobby, they expected me to escort the poor toddler to the front desk because they were very busy with their large "Jewish party". I asked for compensation since I have been an owner for 20 years and have paid my fees and never stayed in the renovated rooms, but they said they didn't care since they only have had it for 4 months. Go to splitrock, it was better when they had it and they accepted my service animal. I would love to see a response and resolution from them, but since it's been a month , I don't foresee them making good on any promises.
To start out, the end room air conditioner heater rattled like my grandmother's old refrigerator. The chair in the bedroom was missing a wheel, the toilet was not bolted down, the shower faucet was hanging out about an inch from the wall. I could go on
Falling apart, full of mold and leaking water, poor customer service, no spa. So gross we left early and forfeited our paid stay.
We were so grateful to spend a wonderful weekend at the Mountain Laurel Resort. We brought in over one hundred teens for a large-scale weekend event; the space was perfect and the staff was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. We would absolutely love to come back!

Came here for fourth of July weekend with my family for my birthday we had a blast this resort has alot to do and so much potential they are going through renovation right now so I will return again. My only issue was I was told I was getting a renovated suite but I did not I got one of the older dated suites but it was clean so no complaints we still had a good time! Breakfast at the resort was really good too!
The whole management changed and the place is much better good staff and very nice place to stay with the family they just need to have better food
If there were an option for zero star I would do that. The hotel is pretty old and they charged me on whatever they could. If they don't have a legitimate charge they will make up false claims against you and use your credit card on file for extra charges. I saw mouse droppings in the drawer of my suite. Disgusting. And their service is disgusting as well. Ripping me off and not doing anything to resolve.
I had to change and raise my rating thanks to the new Management. The staff are still the caring and friendly group of people that are also slowly growing in number letting the front desk get you help as quick as possible. The new construction that is underway is making the place look very nice and the rooms look fresh. The only major letdowns are the old doors, closets, sinks, showers and equipment in the rooms and there are still ruined carpets in some of the main hallways. The gym still has mostly old equipment and work needs to be done by the lake front. Otherwise thumbs up to the new owners for all the hard work that they are putting into the place.
This will be our new go to place. Resort is clean, rooms are nice. Staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. All needs were met in a timely manner. Lots to see and do!!! Booked again before our trip was even over.
My family vsited the pool for a birthday party. The floor drains didn t drain the area around the pool. The attendant pushed dirty floor puddles back into pool right where children swimming. I confronted her and asked politely to not do that and she told me that s how they keep the floors free from puddles because the floor drains are non functional and clogged. There was yellow and white foam mixing with the flood puddles being pushed into the pool water. She said the chemicals in the pool should take care of the slimy dirty water being pushed into the pool while visitors swim. I left shortly after.
Terrible service, expected to check in at 5am, which is the time selected on the website and confirmed on the email. After arriving at 5am I was turned away saying that the check in time was at the earliest 4pm. If this was the case the hotel needs some serious updates on their website and should not confirm the time via email.
Update: food was found in the refrigerator after not being able to check in early due to the hotels "cleaning policy due to covid." Never recommending this place to anyone and if someone asks where to go there are plenty of cleaner hotels just a couple minutes away.
2019.09 agree with other review that they hv room for improvement in cleaniness. Although they are saying renovating, need more handy job.
I have came here 5 times in the passed 3 years. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very affordable. If your looking for a nice clean economical place this is the grest place for you. Also the rooms have kichens wish if you have a big family or have kids its great for you. They are currently updating the resort, but the rooms are still good.
Our third year coming here for kids winter break. Staff is really nice and accommodating. Rooms are very spacious. Pool is big and clean and two hot tubs with sauna. All in all a great place!
Absolutely loved this place! Workers very friendly, rooms very clean, food at the restaurant was delicious, the bar had a DJ Saturday night which he had everyone in there dancing! There s So much to do so there s no time to even be bored. I definitely recommend this place. Looking forward to coming back in August and will be making this a place we go every year now.
This place was awesome for our family vacation of 8, in July. It was still undergoing renovations, so a few things were disappointing, i.e. one hot tub was way too hot, no spa available, restaurant was too slow with service and menu pricing was confusing....they did make good on it by providing a decent discount. But an overall great experience, staff was very nice, our rooms were clean. I can't wait to revisit in a year to see what improvements they've completed!
This hotel is awesome! We had a group event and the staff was incredibly helpful from beginning to end! The layout is great the rooms are spacious and clean! Great place. We will book this group again next year!
Rooms were newly renovated, spacious, and clean. Staff was nice but both the restaurant and bar were closed on a Saturday night. Hallways and exterior were a little outdated but there were several renovations going on around the resort. Would stay again

Very nice decent hotel not a 5 star, but very good condition, beds were very comfortable, shower and bathroom was very clean and functional.

Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Boasted of tennis courts, horseback riding, miniature gold and more but so much of it is rundown and closed. Room was supposed to have sofa bed but didn't. Room was fine, pool was huge, lobby was pretty, hot tub was nice.

Upon my arrival, the front desk staff didn't seem to be organized at all. There were at least 5 individuals behind the desk and only 1 was working. She was clearly overwhlemed by the amount of guests checking in and/or approaching the front desk, but her co-workers just watched her struggle.
On top of that, there were about 3 guests that complained on their rooms in some form or fashion. A few asked to be changed, and others needed items added/replaced. Not a good look from my perspective.
When my family and I started off to locate our room, the parking lots were so in need of repair, we had to dodge several pot holes, bumbs, and unforseen debris in our path. The hotel buildings were outdated. Walking through the hallway to get to our "one bedroom suite" was interesting to say the least. The carpets smelled and the air permeated with a wet, mildew-ish stench. There were several ceiling tiles that showed obvious signs of water damage.
Entering the room, we weren't surprised. Lol. There was no wow factor at all. Small kitchenette with outdated features of course. The dishes provided were decent. The decor was mediocre. The sofa bed boasted a queen bed, it was only a queen sized futon! The one bedroom had two full sized beds instead of two queen sized beds as we originally thought. The bathrooms weren't fully stocked with towels and a few were on the floor. Clearly housekeeping was slacking on their cleaning!!
So let's venture into the amenities...
The pools, both indoor and outdoor were great, a bit too much chlorine, but tolerable. The adult only hot tubs were nice. However, one was set to boiling and no one could figure out how to turn down the heat! Haha.
The "live entertainment" featured a half drunk sounding woman bellowing ballads haphazardly and some strobe lights...uhm excuse me, flashing Christmas lights. The bar area was nothing to get excited about as was the very small gaming area.
Getting ice was a challenge as well. The machine in our area, and the next area over was empty. We had to walk through a maze of hallways that led us to the front of the hotel. Finally! There were no directions, assistance, or helpful individuals to provide any aide.
Back in our room, the bedroom floor was wet. At first I thought something spilled, nope, the ceiling was dripping. NICE! When we called the front to get assistance, no one answered! We just put a towel on the floor to catch the drips and to remind us not to walk in that area. Smh.
Overall, this HOTEL, getting passed off as a resort, was far from flattering and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! Clearly this place is in need of some serious renovations, upgrades, and better organization! Wow, just wow!

Three stars is being generous. Our key cards didn t work for the room, I had to walk back to the desk for new ones. The fire alarm went off twice in the night, which was VERY unpleasant. The front desk claimed there was no reason for it. Our room was nice but the rest of the place needs a lot of work. The restaurant had about a quarter of what was listed on the menu and the quality of what I actually had was poor. Overall it was pretty meh. I probably wouldn t stay there again.
I've been coming to this resort for years, there have been many changes over the years. My unit has been completely renovated. New floors, new furniture, New TV's and lamps. Very family oriented. There is lots to do, the Olympic size pool and hot tubs are a beautiful assett.. Great location to shopping. There is an outdoor pool for the nicer weather. The grounds are great for a nice hike, or you can just sit and relax in the tavern. My unit over looks the lake, it's a beautiful view. Very Cozy and relaxing.
I go every summer. There are so many fun activities to do, and you will never be bored! The rooms are very nice as well as the lobby. Always a fun time there!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Renovating still going on, so that's a bummer, but we got what we paid for. This resort is excellent if you're looking for a small stay away from home. The only major complaint on our end was the on site restaurant, we waited 35 minutes for eggs and toast for 8 people, all eggs were over hard when we requested them over easy. Pricing for the menu was very misleading, but when we pointed it out, a price adjustment was made. I can say we will be back, I'm very curious to see how the place will be after renovating, it has a lot of potential, could be a stellar resort if done right, overall great time for our family of 8, thanks to the staff, keep up the good work!
This is by far the most RUNDOWN and rudest "resort" I have ever stayed at.Their staff is very uneducated and unaccommodating esp to label themselves as a "resort." The lobby is very stunning; BUT I wish I can say the same for the rooms. The beds are very comfortable and our patio view is beautiful but the couches have a thick dark layer of scum (literally, like they came from a mechanics garage) and are probably 20 years old.. EW. The outside pool was cool clear and beautiful but the inside pool was extremely cloudy. Their is also scum/dirt in the grooves on the handles of the sinks which defeats the purpose of washing your hands and I just generally recommend you save your money for another resort or a tent better yet.
We just left this resort after a 3 day stay. I must say we were very disappointed and never returning. For starters the room are very outdated!!! The floors appear clean but when there are kids walking barefoot for 20 minutes that s when you can see that the floor has not been moped in months!!! The chairs in the balcony are rusty! The beds are very uncomfortable!!! The springs of the mattresses poke you in ever way!!! It is absolutely NOT worth the price!!! Stay away from this place!!!!
2 star place cant expect much. Emp are inexperienced. Also need to improve customer service, instead of making customer feel bad make them happy, go above and beyond little.
This "resort" was literally the worst hotel experience we ever had! The room had doors that didn't lock, disgusting hair and mold on the air filters and tub, the air conditioning and was hooked up to the sliding doors. When the TV didn't work we realized that the outlets were full of exposed wires and dust. We were there for our daughters wedding so we couldn't just up and leave. We went multiple times to ask for help, but the extremely rude "manager" ( and I use that word loosely) told us that if we didn't like it we could leave...Check out the lovely resort pictures! Although they had mask signs everywhere, most people and even some if the staff did not wear one. You may agree though after seeing the pictures, that coronavirus was the LEAST of your worries... so sad!
There were available rooms to book online so I drove the hour for the leap. Got there and the doors were open. After wondering around to no avail of finding anyone I go stuck at horrible over priced conference center near by
Staff helpful. Grounds are beautiful. The place could use some renewals but they will happen over time. Poconos area suffering due to so much online travel bookings the last few years hurt them rather than helped them. My family and i had a great time.
WANT TO GIVE ZERO STARS. Served a Banquet for the hotel, and let me say this place is horrible. The banquet was held in AUGUST, it s NOVEMBER and the Hotel still hasn t payed anybody who helped with it. Bathrooms were disgusting! Legit Every toilet was clogged, kitchen upstairs was DISGUSTING, they were serving horrible and both LEFT OVER food. Very disappointed that I still haven t received my Pay.

New owners refused to abide by the terms of a contract to use the entire facility. Past events (3 a year) with older owners were great.
We had the hotel booked for a full weekend and they waited until the day before to fill the pool which made it to cold to use. Hot tubs were green swampy and half the public bathrooms we out of order. Spa owners left because of the new owner.
Will not be returning because of how our group was treated.
Their loss. We are a very large and very well connected community in the Mid-Atlantic/US. Word will spread fast that they are unreliable and do not treat their guests well.
This place is very nice. Much of staff is new but they do try there hardest to make everything work well. Been here on three different weekends this summer and haven't had any issues

Had multiple times that there where no towels at the pool and after asking 3 times in 2 hours finally got some.
Requested fresh towels for our rooms but never got any.
Normally, they would be on top of stuff but this weekend I guess the services ended up being WAY BELOW AVERAGE.
One of the front desk Ladies was Very helpful, but then there was a young skinny girl that was sitting on the back counter that was Very Rude not respectful at all.

Walls were thin, late night receptionist wasn't too friendly. The only upside in my opinion was the location - nice hiking trails nearby along with local breweries.
My husband and had a very pleasurable and comfortable stay. The owner and staff went above and beyond from the time we walked in the door, to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We stayed Christmas day and the Prime Rib dinner was one best we've ever had. The service was remarkable. It is an expansive facility and the owner is doing a great job with renovations! The resort is clean and well kept. We will definitely be returning!

We have been coming up to the hotel as a family weekend getaway for the past three winters. The hotel is family friendly, accommodating and a great location to go to local attractions from. We are a big group and very demanding and the hotel staff is always helpful, courteous and generous. The hotel recently underwent renovations and is looking better than ever! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a vacation location that brings high value and great memories!
The hotel staff checked us into an unmade room! When we walked in there was still garbage in the trash, unmade beds, wet towels in the bath tub, the toilet was unflushed and the list goes on. We go downstairs to inform the front desk and they send someone to validate our claim. What type of system do you have in place where you check your guests into unmade rooms, this is almost unheard of in the hospitality/lodging business. We had to wait 2-3 hours for someone to come and clean the room. The hotel is outdated, the furniture is quite old, the popcorn ceiling is cracked and peeling, the sink faucet had build up residue from pr we evious guest... the pool had pieces of the ceiling tiles floating in it. I won t ever be coming back to this place again.
