LONG BUT PLEASE READ****
I would never book a stay at Mountain Laurel again.
My family and I booked about 15 rooms at this resort for Labor Day weekend.
Tuesday before we were due to arrive the hotel attempted to charge a few family members the full price of the room and we had until the next day to cancel. We all booked through booking.com and chose the option pay at checkin. We all was aware they may preauthorize 1st night stay. So the next day I called and questioned the resort. First I was told they did not do that. I sent 3 screenshots showing it was attempted. I then was told booking should of charged us a 100.00 deposit. I advice them that wasn't the amount that they were trying to take out. I requested to speak to management or corporate because I was not getting a proper explanation. I also advice them when I came 2 months ago we did not have this problem but I do hope the rooms are cleaned properly because they weren't back in June. I was not nasty nor rude with the front desk agent Daisy. About a hour later I received a text stating all rooms mentioned was cancelled. I called them back and advice them i did not request a cancelation just an explanation of why 4 days before arrival they were trying to take out the full amount for the rooms. Amy the manager then got on the phone and said because i wasn't happy the hotel have a right to cancel my reservation. Only 1 room was under my name but they canceled 6 other rooms that I asked about. The 9 other rooms remain untouched because i never mentioned their names when i called. I then asked for corporate number because this was unfair and we were due to come in 4 days. Amy provided me with a number saying its corporate, a gentleman name Eugene answered the phone saying he's operational manager and he would make sure no rooms are cancelled. He then called back and said I have 5 rooms you want to or not. Eugene also mentioned "thats the reason they rather rent to the Jewish community because the money will be there no matter when. I said we have about 15 rooms booked you saying you cancelled my whole party what are we going to do with just 5 rooms? At the time I didn't realized they didn't know the other people in our group names.
Fast forward, we never got a resolution so we booked at a different hotel. The resort didn't have a proper explanation for booking besides they could not accommodate us. After checking out of our other hotel on Monday we went over to Monutain Laurel and got to meet the operational manager Eugene who was actually buffing the floors.....This place will not provide the corporate number . There is no info on the website. Only thing I know is corporate is located in NY. The owner need to know how these employees are running the resort. Its so much more to this but i would be typing for days. I am so disgusted.

We planned a last minute overnight to the Poconos area and found this good deal. You pay for what you get. Lobby was spacious. Staff were very friendly. Everything else was not just outdated, but worn out. Cracks in the sink, holes in the wall. Rooms had none of the standard amenities (no tissues, no hairdryer, shampoo that had obviously been used by a previous guest). All of which we could have dealt with, but the shower was the worst I have experienced in a hotel. The water pressure was almost non-existent, and when the water came from the shower, it was ice cold. We had been talking about staying again at the hotel on an upcoming weekend trip, but after the shower troubles, we won't stay here again.

Stay far away. What a dump.

Stay far away. What a dump.
Firstly, as you walk into this 'hotel' there is no one by the desk.
The smell of mold filled the lobby and rotting smell permeates this place. Then was the first experience with one of the numerous broken thing in this place, the elevator. Finally got to the room and there is mold all over and smoke stench throughout.
Dirty bathrooms and cold water in the middle of the winter. Absolutley horrendous.
Even the heating system was broken and it had a rusty odor when it ran.
Asked for help from the staff at the front and the guy refused to try to take a look at the heat in the room. Terrible attitude and upset employees work in this place. Dining room is atrocious. Dirty and cold.
If you try using some of the 'amenities' here good luck. Ice cold, dirty pool in the middle of December, broken sauna and hot tub and no employees to help. The worst part about the whole experience is dealing with Charlotte. She is rude, condescending, pompous and could not care less about any of the issues we dealt with. She repeatedly lied and said they would be taken care of. She has a terrible attitude. What a nasty person.
If you want to have a terrible time and waste your money this is your place.
Otherwise do yourself a favor and stay far away.

The rooms were filthy. I wouldn't keep my dogs there. If you ever have to talk to a representative, don't even try. I have been trying for over three weeks and still haven't been able to get anyone who can answer a question.

Mount Laurel Resort November 2020. We had booked this unit through our timeshare from Sunday to Sunday. This place was the dump of all dumps. Worst experience ever. Dirty filthy room, broken equipment including toilet falling over, microwave don't heat, stove didn't work, lights broken and no bulb, all electrical outlets plugged up in bedroom. Mold was everywhere. It was a covid breading ground. Hated it. Never ever again! These pictures were our 2nd room after nothing worked in the 1st room. Then on top of everything we got kicked out on the 3 night from a main water break in the building. Gave us 1/2 hr to leave and didn't care we had nowhere to go. Save the misery go somewhere else. If I paid yearly maintenance fees here I would be freaking out. Horrible place!!!

We traveled to Mountain Laurel Resort from NC. When we arrived we were happy with the lobby and the reception area however the front staff wasn t the friendliest people but it s ok. When they gave us our key they gave us a key card and an actual key and she said this is for extra security . We traveled around the facility to our room and the parking lot looked like an old hotel that had been abandoned. I went on inside and the room looks to have been remodeled however there was paint off the back of the door where an animal had been scratching. Baseboard molding missing and hanging off the wall. The grass hasn t been cut in weeks. The couch was falling apart and the outdoor furniture was nasty and grimy. This is not a place I would spend a week with my family. I got back in my vehicle and told the lady at the front desk that I wanted to check out and that I had just checked in. She looked at me funny and just said ok . Didn t ask what was wrong or anything. Thankful I bought travel insurance when booking this place. Stay away!!!!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Outdated? I prefer Vintage. The resort had a family owned/run feeling and not a corporate assembly line feel. My daughter's, 12 and 14, rated it "Top Notch" and they were being genuine. I thought this rating would change after we visited Split Rock and took them to Guy Fieri's restaurant in Mount Airy, but they, and my wife and I preferred Mountain Laurel. Could it use a little sprucing up and better WiFi.... yes, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing. We tried to book the week of 4/10/17, but unfortunately all of the rooms are sold out. That tells you something!

I booked a 3 day stay at this resort for my wife and I. I needed a place to relax and get a massage, and for my wife to have a break from house chores like cooking.
To my surprise, when asked for the restaurant, the front desk informed me that the chef had resigned that same day along with his helper and they didn't have any replacement so the restaurant was closed.
When I tried to book a massage in their spa, I was told the spa was closed due to renovations.
In general, the place looks in need of a serious and thorough renovation.
Walls are being striped of their covering (see pictures) and there are stains from water leaks on the walls.
They have a very big swimming pool but I had to ask for towels that where not available.
Water apparently from the pool was on a couple of places in the floor (probably a couple of inches deep) right in front of the door as you walk into the pool area.
I visited the jacuzzi and when the water jets and bubbles were not turned on I could see the bottom and there were some foreign objects not visible when the water is moving. Disgusting.
The room was comfortable but the carpet had multiple stains as well as the couch upholstery.
On top of all these unacceptable conditions, we found out there was no hot water anywhere in the resort due to a malfunctioning hot water pump that was being worked on but I was told several times it would be corrected and in working conditions in an hour but after 24 hours I decided to cut my stay short and I left the place after less than a day.

This resort has seen better days. I am sure it was very nice few years ago, but now it looked neglected and very old. The only one restaurant on premises worked very few hours and forces guests to eat elsewhere or order delivery. The bar did not serve any food and worked only in the evening. The spa was closed on Sunday, which should be its busiest day. Arcade machines in the Game room were from 1980's and had only one or two arcades that actually worked. Water in the pools was too cold to enjoy. Ice machine worked only on 1 floor. Bottom line, this place needs major renovations. Great view.

We attended a convention here and I must say the hotel is beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable although I thought my bed was a little stiff the quality of the Room was very very nice. My only complaint and only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars - maybe if I could give a 4 and a 1/2 I would. Was the restaurant was exceedingly exceedingly slow. We waited one hour and 25 minutes for food that's outrageous. This was for me and my husband we ordered fried pickles and Quesadilla. No reason for this. Otherwise beautiful resort and great responsive front desk.

Mountain laurel is currently under renovations. Please be aware of that when booking so as to not be disappointed upon arrival and during your stay. Other than their current condition, their staff is friendly, and what is available/ open for the season more than reflects in their price as compared to other resorts.

Very first night here and at check in we're told there will be no water from 7am-Noon in the morning, or longer, due to servicing a water leak. We asked why can't the repairs be done while guests are sleeping, 11pm-6am? Why inconvenience all of your guests is what we asked... no good answer was given! To add "salt to a wound" we were offered 15% off at their expense gift shop.

And the saga continues, we enter into our suite - a picture is worth a thousand words! Need not say more!

We're here for a week and of now, None of our issues have been solved. We were told upper management will be here tomorrow. I know, "heard it all before", we'll see what happens tomorrow. Maybe I'll change this rating to a 5-star; Yeah Right!

This place looked like a 5 star Resort on the website and Interval International. When my husband and I arrived we were very disappointed. The rooms need some serious update furniture. The living room furniture looked dirty, the bathrooms needed to be updated and the stove one of the eyes was on the stove correctly. Also, we heard what sounded like rats in the ceiling. We went to the front desk and was told they have problems with chipmunk running in the ceilings but it didn't sound like no chipmunks. I advised anybody NOT to stay at this place. I am a Timeshare owner and have stayed at Excellent Resort better than this one. I will be calling Interval International about this Resort to see if I can get my money back or they book me another Resort. I will not come here again.

Read a lot of reviews before going and was unsure, but because it was very clear that renovations are ongoing, we booked and decided to hope that the negative reviews were one-off reviews. Turns out they absolutely were one-off negative experiences, especially when speaking about such a large complex with so much to offer.

What a wonderful weekend! An immense effort being put into renovation was very noticeable. Staff was incredibly nice, helpful, and polite. So many activities for the kids and near practically everything one would need or want. Will absolutely be returning and excited to see what's new as renovations continue. Thank you!

Modest lodgings in a beautiful setting. The decor is somewhat dated, but the rooms are clean and comfortable with up to date amenities including the pool, spa and health club. The conference rooms are faded and can use a update. Overall a good mid priced meeting place

Not gonna lie, this place has so much more potential. The staff are very helpful and very caring. The place is huge and has a lot to offer. The downside is that it's very poorly maintained. Bulbs are burnt out everywhere, there are dead bugs in the stairwell, the chairs have stains on them, there are literally no working ice machines, all the elevators are out of service, and the ceiling tiles are either falling apart or mismatched. Overall had a complete makeover and kept it maintained, I would come at least once a month for a nice weekend getaway. But that's up to the owners!!!

Staff was incredible, the rooms were spacious and set up perfect for us being 2 adults and 5 kids. The resort is under renovations and some areas are still dated, but it didn't matter to us. Pool areas were fantastic, we will be coming back for sure!!

Reading the reviews. I m not going to lie. I was nervous. The only reason I am dropping 5 stars is because I want people to know it s ALOT better than people are making it sound....is it the best place you ll EVER stay at? No. But for the price. I couldn t ask for more.....the gym is solid......the staff was very cool.....Matt behind the desk was a great dude....made you feel so welcomed....a nice 3 day get away to kick back and relax.....so again. My 5 stars is just here to let you all know it is way better than people made it sound.

You can definitely see the changes the resort is making to improve the location. The room we had was nice and fit out needs and the A/C was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they made sure to answer our questions to the best of their abilities and made sure to us with pur needs. The events areas could still use a lot of work, they felt musty and humid. Being there for a convention, we spent a lot of time in these areas and they tended to be hot
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return again if only to see all the changes they've made.

The hotel had leaks in every hallway, floor was very slippery and people kept on falling. The second night we found a mouse in our room! Horrible, we checked out instead of staying until our time was up and told the front desk receptionist and he didn t even flings! Real bad place

Family was there for Smiling David's escape to the poconos, daughter dances with Elite Dance Studio.. even though there's renovations going on we had a great time. Staff was helpful and courteous.

It was a great experience. Although many thing were in construction like the pool I'm pretty sure the pool and the indoor water park would have been a great experience. The theater, bowling alley, and the arcade was really fun. And the hotel rooms are old fashioned but they are nice and clean. Also, well put together. The fire alarm is really loud and I think that it is helpful because it alarmed me and my family when the there was smoke. The alarm woke me up so that is some good safety stuff. But overall, Mount Laurel Resort is a fun place and a great place to go if you like the woods and outdoor sports like skiing and etc. So, I am really happy I went.

Location is great. This is a place that is in desperate need of refreshing. Everything is comfortable, the amenities are fine, the bar is potent. Their in house restaurant makes a great burger. It all just needs some tlc.

Under construction so halls look bad, however good amenities In kitchenettes. No elevator to 200's and 300's. And be prepared to walk for a bit to get to room. Otherwise nice place. Keep the traditional key on you if you want to use side door for access to closer parking lots.

Old, but nice. They are in the middle of renovation so elevators not working. They have porters to bring your baggage to your room. The ambience and atmosphere was very lovely and easygoing

Even though this place is outdated it is still nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable and all of the appliances worked. In other words it served its purpose. I was highly disappointed about the spa and restaurant being closed (they are only open on the weekends, which is stupid). The pools were nice and we loved the stable even though they could spend some time cleaning up around It (brush, weeds, general repair). Everything else needs more attention, the mini golf was rough, the picnic areas were bad with sticks, the tennis and basketball court was in need of repair, lake looked swampy, the fire pit was decent. I could go on but you get the idea. The best part of this place, and the reason it got 4 stars is when you go to for the purpose of doing a tour the give you "mountain bucks" to use at Split Rock just up the road.
All in all I would stay again and would recommend if you are just looking to get away and relax. If you have kids stay at Split Rock for the convenience.

The rooms are decent but overall this place is horrible. The grounds are very unattractive and the exterior of the buildings are falling apart. I was embarrassed to have my family stay in such conditions that we cut our reservations short. Very unhappy with this resort.

Im very unhappy with this resort . I booked my trip for the Fourth of July weekend and 2 days before my trip I received a confirmation cancellation . I called the resort asking why was my reservation canceled & I got a call back from the manager of the resort and she said I m confused because I spoke to you this morning I told her I never spoke to her before and that no one should of been allowed to cancel my trip without an Itinerary number . She said she would be able to rebook my room but I should book it through Expedia because of changes in prices. I called Expedia and the resort was booked fully and I had just spoken to the manager five minutes before hand. (SOMETHING DID NOT SEEM RIGHT ABOUT THIS RESORT ) . I had my friend call the resort again and ask why her room was canceled without giving an itinerary number the man on the phone told her that they have been canceling people s renovations due to construction on the resort . They canceled my reservation and lied to me about it !!! I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN AND I HOPE NOBODY ELSE DOES AS WELL !! Yeah

Went here for a little convention. I didn't explore much besides the main building and restaurant... It's a private location but from what I saw it's not the best kept place you'll visit. Pool area was not kept up with and the grounds themselves are very outdated. The restaurant I wouldn't go to again I ordered some fries out of desperation, definitely not the cleanest Location I have been to

Nice cozy resort, a bit old, but it has a lot of character and charm. Beds were comfortable, heat and ac worked great, hot water temperature was very good, older tube style TVs (so no connecting video game systems lol), this place for the most part was pretty clean, but u have guests that like to leave there wet pool towels all over the hallways. The indoor pool is massive although not as crystal clear or clean as it is in the pictures online so that needs to be addressed, such a nice pool yet it was always empty for that reason. The gym was very large and well equipped with some older machines but they were all in great shape and everything functioned as designed. Beautiful lake views although the wood railings on the balcony was also in poor condition. There was no working ice machine on my floor so that was a nice long walk to get ice. Oh and the wifi was terrible and it does not work in your room only the lobby. They had a lot of nice activities for kids. Horseback riding, archery game room, billiards ect. But with that all being said I would definitely stay there again...

I was there Dec 2019 for a skiing trip with my family. The stay was good only because of the staff. We had squirrels scratching the ceiling tiles all night, every night. my wife was scared that they would chew through the tiles and get into our room. When I brought attention to the squirrels in the ceiling I was told I would be contacted by management. Still waiting (it is now Aug 2020). I have left it off because I will not be returning to this property anyway. Just beware, if you stay here you might have a friend living in you ceiling that could easily get through the drop ceiling panels. Management won't be there for you either. The staff was excellent aside from the squirrels.

We recently stayed in one of the suites for the first time. My previous two visits were in standard rooms and while the resort is dated I have seen a lot of improvment efforts in what the staff can do. The rooms are clean and the staff has always been helpful. A special shout out to Paula at the bar. She is so friendly and has been someone we always look forward to seeing.

I recently had a walk through of the facility for a group that I plan to bring in a few months. The staff was extremely friendly and the facilities were nice. Very impressive place! I look forward to bringing my group!

The outside and lobby area where beautiful but the rooms were horrible. In need of serious updates. The furniture had stains, the bathroom had rust in the bathtub and what appeared to be mold on the shower curtain. The linens had stains as well. The tv was fuzzy. Very disappointed in the room appearance. Staff never bothered with us. They had stands set up in the lobby selling knock off stuff. Not very attractive for a resort. Will never stay again.

The absolute WORST hotel(Resort) I have ever stayed in. This establishment is NOT a resort in anyway. The breakfast was inedible and it is literally preheated garbage. The rooms haven't been updated since the 1960's and look like something out of a B movie horror flick. The walls are so thin you can hear the next room talking and more. Dont get fooled by the low price for this place, there is a reason its cheap because it's terrible.
