Didn't stay at the hotel but visited multiple times their restaurant and pool during my stay in Colombo. The food is very good with Western and Eastern meals. Their staff is extremely attentive and friendly. Their pool area is awesome, great place to hang out.

Good food with accent on taste. Old world type building. Situated to the South of city. Ample parking. The restaurants have diverse and very appetizing fare. Well worth a visit.

My favourite hotel where I feel a home a way from home for excellent accomodation, food, wine, liquor, sea views and friendly warm service by dedicated staff.

All is good specilay they have wash roos for any drivers in car park

Honorable colonial style hotel from the 19th century. Very good food, but the service in the restaurant and terrace was slow and indifferent. The birds on the terrace and around the pool were a real nuisance. The showers at the pool were mediocre. Room good, also the cleaning.

Nostalgic and historic hotel with breathtaking views and excellent customer service

It was a fantastic stay.
Enjoyed my quality quarantine time. Sitting idle doing nothing but enjoying beach view whole day.
I recommend if anyone wants to spend his or her own space.

The view from the ocean suite was worth every Lankan rupee.

This place is getting from bad to worse. we heard the Seafood Cove restaurant was redone. weren't we disappointed. same lethargic staff, same bad cuisine and same run down shack which is even more run down. so much potential but yet owner doesn't care. very sad state.

The place doesn't provide parking inside the hotel for functions of the hotel. You will have to park outside, which is not sufficient most tod the time.

Food was not really good, but has some varieties. Prices are reasonable. Staff is very helpful.

The hotel is situated near the sea. Great view from the balcony of the hotel. There is a swimming pool here. As it is the official house of many governers who had ruled srilanka in early times, you can get the essense of that antiquity here..

Needs a lot of renovation. The banquet service was good.

The Best place for a lunch or dinner buffet... taste of food is amazing.. and the range even if you are a vegetarian or meat lover this is the best place around Colombo. the view of the sea and the gentle touch of the sea breeze with a chilled draught beer in a sunny day, you cann't expect more.
The Chef Pabilis's experiments on local vegetables and fruits will give you an unique experience and will definitely make you feel special.
I have personally had this experience in number of times and still Mount Lavinia Hotel will be my First Choice for Lunch.

An Icon in Sri Lanka, not quite on par with the Galle Face, but still a grand old hotel

I am totally fedup with the poor performance of the accounts department where they paid scant attention for the refund of my quarantine money. This shows a poor reflection on there part .

I visited this hotel for a function, but i really liked the view of the hotel. Staff was really good and friendly. Halls are spacious but not too modern. I think building is too old hence wedding hall was not too attractive

We opted for this hotel instead of the centre of Colombo and absolutely amazing welcome with great staff. The building is beautiful and although the room was luxurious, It was more than what we expected for the money.
Importantly, it was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Choose an ocean view room.
The view is stunning! Unwinding on the balcony The staff was also very friendly and efficient, especially Malik & all the staff. Delicious varity of Buffet all through our stay and BBQ was fantastic. We will be staying again within few weeks and will Highly recomemnded.

A luxury hotel within reach of thr busy city of Colombo near the Coast..Food has a wide variety and the rooms are also comfortable.

I recommend this hotel to any tourist who visit Sri Lanka and for the best rates and Facilities. Sri Lankan cultural buildings with great service at the hotel including tasty meals. I think this is a great place with a wonderful beach in Colombo Area for any visitors.

Fresh catch Sea food. Limited in choice. Didn't prepare the order the we requested, but nevertheless was quite tasty.

A hotel with history. Lovely food, great location and super service. Hotel itself has a story to unfold.

A historic Birtish colonial mansion converted to a 4 star hotel. Amazing staff, views, and amenities. Truly luxurious. Our room was on the main level, and opened up to the ocean. We opted for the full board option, so we patroned the buffet often. Amazing food that caters to a multitude of pallets and styles. Fresh, made to order items also available upon request.

The hotel is located on, probably, one of the most beautiful coasts on the island. A walk away if you want to explore some of the regular local activities, like the Sunday market.

Hotel is along situated right alongside the Mount Lavinia railway station, if you opt to hop a train where you could travel along the costline for hours and soak in the scenery.

NOT WORTH FOR ITS PRICE ! Even though the food is good the hotel rooms are catastrophically.The room service doesnt provide proper service, the rooms are dirty.It was full of insects and especially cockroaches.For a self claimed five star hotel it's not worth its price.All what counts is the name itself.The front of the hotel looks great but the back'poorly maintained.Overall very unpleasant stay

One disappointment- crows around the pool and eating area

A historical romantic palace which turned to a hotel that constructed by Lieutenant General The Right Honourable Sir Thomas Maitland . Nice location with easy access to sea view & beach. Very good service as well. recommend for any function or stay.

I just used the pool for the day which was moderately priced. Very good views from the poolside but it was very busy with limited sun loungers. The pool itself is not suitable for lengths as it's more a holiday makers pool. It was very clean and well maintained. I was a bit disappointed as they didn't have banana smoothies but was a minor complaint. They were very reluctant to give us towels even when offering to pay extra to use them.

Good food. Lovely location. Cost effective. Best seaside hotel in Colombo.
