Fantastic hotel. Great food. We had wonderfull nights here. And truly friendly and helpful staff.

Worst buffet in a 5 star hotel in Sri Lanka. Non-cohesive spread, which is a pathetic excuse for 5 star cuisine. Even the Sri Lankan food was terrible.

Lovely hotel with a great history. Only downside was a room that smelled strongly of cigarettes. Quickly changed when we requested a swap.

Located near the beautiful beach and of course this has been a historical hotel and a go to hotel for alot of foreigners... Service is good, cleanliness I'd give 6.5/10, food is always superb here... Sunsets are always beautiful near the pool...

I called ahead due to the elections, I asked if everything would be open and if they would be fully staffed they said yes so I booked the best room they had for our anniversary. Upon checking in and going to the pool bar we were informed that there was NO liquor and the bars were closed all weekend!!!! Our romantic idea of basking by the pool with cocktails and going to happy hour with supposed live music was not the case! Upon entering our room it smelled heavily like smoke, dust, mold of which I am very allergic to. I immediately went to the manager and was told there were no other rooms like ours to move to and she would send a maid. It smelled slightly better but we later ordered room service and after two bites of my dinner I had a massive allergy attack. My lips swelled and lungs tightened. Our romantic night turned into me taking 2 allergy pills and going to bed.
The food was mostly terrible.
The manager needs A LOT of training.
The facilities need a huge overhall.
The only good part was the lady who took our room service order was very sweet. She sent us a cake for our anniversary.
You will have a much better time and much better service at the Kingsbury.

It was nice, clean. They don't allow to step in local people. Even if they are prominent person.

Real delicious specialty of Sri Lanka, he cooks best of island! Nice facilities in the hotel, rest is all great.

Governors restaurant dinner, food quality and variety has declined. Not happy at all the way one staff member was behaving. Still the ambience was still great.

Personally I dont like food here. Not much teastey at all. But you can try sea food in this hotel. But beautiful view from top and you can have a visit to place, can have deserve and look. Better stay out of this hotel and go for dessert in this place.

Attended for a wedding, well prepared venue. Friendly,helpful and professional staff. A glamorous hotel and perfect location for a wedding.The empire ballroom is stunning and incredibly large. And we enjoyed the fantastic lunch too.
From entering to the hotel till leaving, our whole experience was one of satisfaction and pleasure. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Nice place to visit and great place to conduct a celebrations. The place are well maintained. It is a old building and well maintained, you will get a feel of going to olden days. for having a different pleasant full experience visit here.

Went out for anniversary dinner, seating was not prepared even after making the reservation. Staff was busy and inattentive. Dinner table was then arranged at a location much undesirable for a private dinner. Apparently we were not the only victims.

However the food was good, not excellent, good. Not a big spread at the buffet and dishes were routine and uninteresting. Had the worst sauteed mushrooms ever.

Only highlight was that the patio outside had excellent view of colombo city.

As opposed to other venues much poorer experience.

Place to be while your visit to Colombo. Travel in time back to the early 19th. High service standard, huge value on excellent food at any time! Great view, you'll never forget. Makes you want to come back, for sure!
Comfortable rooms, better to ask for the "old building" rooms. Nicer view.

Beautiful surroundings but buffet is not good. Few food options and staff is also not helpful

We chose it for a beach party and it was an awesome experience for us. Nice decos, good food and good service should be appreciated. Since there are 5 separate buffet there no waiting queues for us. Relaxing place for a corporate parties and events.

Relly nice poya day buffet and nice view and nice pool.

Some areas really nerd to be freshened up but the food their has got back to being superb! Can't say that about the staff though (least wedding banquet staff)

Very nice place to visit and eat or just have a sun-downer. Happy hour at Seafood Cave at 18-19.
