One of my top 10 restaurant experiences! Service, food, & ambience were superb! Did the 8 course menu that the chef presents.. fantastic! So fresh, so innovative and delicious! Expensive but well worth every penny of our $377 dinner for 2. Had a bottle of wine as well

Probably considered THE place to be 10+ years ago, while still great, it definitely did not have that punch it used to have in terms of the crowd and atmosphere. What surprised me was that the place was about 70% capacity on a Friday night. While not bad, it did stand out considering the restaurant and the history it's had with the booked reservations, etc.

The food is still great. The is probably the best part and you do walk out of there realizing that the quality in sushi does differ and you do get what you pay for. In the case of Morimoto, the high price does provide for a very high quality sushi.

I would recommend this place for dine in only (not eating outside in a cold and rainy day)
The server is pretty nice and I can tell the fishes are really fresh. But the outside eating feeling is too far from what I expected.

This restaurant is starting to show its age, but it has a decent lunch menu with really large portions. We got the unagidon and they were very accommodating when I asked for the fried rice to be prepared without the foie. The chicken katsu was huge and pretty tasty, although perhaps not the most innovative dish in the world. The yuzu castella dessert was easily our favorite -- light, airy cake with lots of fresh, citrus-y flavors.

Hostess service was poor. Made a reservation nearly a month in advance and was still waiting 30 minutes to get a seat. They didn't even realize we were waiting despite asking us to wait at the seating area.

We did get a free appetizer due to the wait and some of the food was top notch such as the wagyu beef, nigiri sushi and dessert. Everything else was comparable to any cheap decent sushi establishment.

In conclusion, for this price range I expected more than this sub par quality.

i was here eating a duck the day after 7/4 2019, that is 7/5 of the year 2019 i think. roughly 6 or 7 weeks later, i came back here and sat on the same chair at the bar, i had a definitive feeling that night, as i was chewing the chicken, image of a heavenly divine woman. it suddenly occurred to me, at that moment, a part of my life is over with. "c'est fini", was the voice of a woman in a godard film, kept ringing in my head.

I had the unfortunate experience of dining here back in 2006. If you enjoy real sushi, don t come here. The micro piece of sushi drowning in rice and spicy mayo, left my palette confused as to wether I had actually come to a sushi restaurant or yet another fusion confusion restaurant. The sushi stuck to the roof of my mouth, my chopsticks saturated with spicy mayo and i almost would have rather going to an all you can eat sushi restaurant bc honestly the prices are just much better. Morimoto may have won in iron chef but he lost in this dojo.

This place is every bit as impressive as you would expect from a name like Morimoto. The decor is interesting, the service - attentive, and the food is great.
We had the omakase - a 8 course tasting menu with the first three courses representing the cold dishes - some preparation of raw fish, the following three dishes were hot - both fish and meat, the seventh course was a sushi sampler and finally, the eighth - dessert.
Everything was delicious... with a few minor hiccups here and there. One of the fish courses had a yuzu sauce. The sauce complimented the fish perfectly, except they had used way too much - to the point where it was completely overpowering the taste of the fish. The wagyu beef was great - my portion was rare, with a succulent texture and just melted in the mouth. My wife's, however, was the end piece of the roast. It was medium-well and somewhat dry. The dessert was just not good - panacotta with half an inch of gelatin on top - it did not fit the restaurant and it did not taste great.
These few issues were minor, however, and did not detract from an overall fantastic experience.
Oh yeah.... also, get the sake pairing - you won't regret it.

The service, ambience, and food were delightful. We went for the seasonal omasake, mainly to try several dishes that would also include the Japanese wagyu. The courses were well-paced though we were unexpectedly full by the end! Pricey of course, but worth trying. Individual dishes are more affordable.

We went to Mirimoto's at Disney Springs. The ribs were to die for. The orange chicken was amazing. The filet was the most tender we've ever experienced. The waiter Charles was awesome. Truly best meal we have ever had.

My wife and I just returned from Morimoto and the following things were amazing! The food and service were great. The prices were what we expected after reading the menu online and the reviews. Our meals were amazing and cooked to perfection. We felt over dressed as we thought that this place would be more formal than it was. The one thing we did not like and this is the only reason why it is getting a 4 star is that it was really noisy....judging by the set up and other comments this seems like a common complaint. Don't let the noise ruin you from going and enjoying an amazing meal!

Best sushi experience we ve had in the USA so far.
Had a great experience here, food was delicious and restaurant was lovely. My husband and I ordered the chef special for sushi and drinks.
Fantastic service, waiters were helpful to explain the menu and what we were being served. We dined at lunch on a weekday and the restaurant was mostly empty making it very quiet and refreshing.

The calamari salad was was excellent, the salmon was average, the shell fish with sticky rice was very good. The special rice was excellent. You pay "Iron Chief" prices, so I am not sure that the value was there.

I shared an Omakase and bibibamp with my boyfriend. Each course of the Omakase was small, elegant and yummy.

The lighting inside the restaurant is dim and warm, perfect for a date. Our waiters were very very attentive, and described each course to us as they were served.

over priced sushi restaurant. It's not upscale at all. Inside architecture is cheap looking. Cheesy neon lights all over makes it looks like very cheap. Ceiling is curved and they tried to do something with it, however the design of the ceiling makes it too loud inside. Sound bounced off the ceiling and create an echo. People are screaming to each other just to have a conversation.
Price is too high as well. 12 oz bottle of sake is $55.00. way over priced.
Do yourself a favor, try a different Japanese restaurant, if you must have Japanese food. Don't take your date there unless you guys want to have a screaming game.

Morimoto made our anniversary a bit more special by serving us a special desert apart from the normal desert offered at their omakase. Thank you for the care in all that you serve, and spectacular service.

I had never tried sushi before and was extremely nervous. The server was great. He explained everything to me and recommended some sushi that would be good to try for a "first-timer" like myself. This place is awesome. I will definitely go back.

This is THE BEST restaurant in Philadelphia, PA. It is also the original Morimoto when the Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto started the chain in the United States. Every dish is always prepared with thoughts and creativity. Drinks, service and atmosphere are always good.

Great atmosphere, and service. Food was average at best. Chicken noodle soup was 7/10, Duck Duck Duck dish was 4/10 and Chocolate Fire dessert was 8/10. Over priced for the food, but experience was unique.

While I enjoyed the drinks, the ambiance, and some of the food, we were ultimately left disappointing by our experience. The appetizers were great, starting with the pork belly and the Tuna Carpaccio. Then we ordered the Wagyu bibimbap which was good, but only had about 5 very thin slices of beef in it and was otherwise mostly rice for $45. We ordered sushi, which included 4 pieces of nigiri and a soft shell crab roll. The crab roll was the best thing we ordered. However, the nigiri was super disappointing. With each piece ranging from $6-$10 we had high expectations. The octopus was super tough, The eel was super fishy, and the tuna and mackerel were lacking in flavor. For 2 people we ended up spending $200 and while some of what we ate was very good, we felt the quality of the food did not warrant that price point.

Ambiance was fantastic. Service was fantastic. The prices were reasonable, but dining options are not casual. The dining options are not for your average sushi eater. The menu options were upscale. If yoy are familar with Japanese cuisine, you will be fine, but if you're a novice, good luck. The food we ordered was delicious. I might return.

Incredible food, but the interior design is really the experience. I am on a tight budget, and I appreciated that Morimoto complimented it's expensive and elaborate entrees with a sushi menu with some affordable options. Rated 4 stars because the acoustics aren't great even when it's not too crowded.

This place is really something special.

The atmosphere is enchanting on its own. Once you sit at your booth the gradually changing colors set you up for the tasting of a lifetime.

Be open minded and ready to try new things and you can t go wrong.

This place serves excellent food. Very delicate flavors and non conventional ingredients are combined to create exquisite and unique dishes. No matter what you pick from the menu it will taste great and different. The downside for the restaurant is the noise. Tables are very close to each other and always full. Its almost impossible to have a quiet conversation with someone sitting across the table. I can't imagine what it would be like if you are sitting in a table of four or more. So, if can set aside the noise and would like to try authentic gourmet dishes go ahead.

Nice place, went there for my anniversary. Waiters/waitresses were great and friendly. Got an eel avocado roll and a dry aged NY strip which was well cooked. Wife got the full 8 course meal. It was pricey but was a great experience.

Our experience with Morimoto was a mixed one. I loved it my wife did not like the soup and so on. The ambiance was awesome and the customer service was great. Entrees were cooked to perfection and tasted great. We had the chillean sea bass Ala cart Sushi and Seafood Toban Yaki and in appetizers we had the Edamame and Dobin Mushi Steamed Soup in a Pot. The soup was not what we expected, more like a broth than a soup. Every thing was coated with sesame seeds and soy sauce so be prepared for those tastes. All in it was a good experience.

I initially went to Morimoto when it first opened and the iron chef himself was in residence. I haven't been back for ten years. The place still retains it's magic. And the sushi is truly outstanding. I recommend it for first timers and if you haven't been for awhile you should return for another great meal.

If you're looking for the ultimate dining experience, Morimoto is your final destination. Very expensive, but if you can afford to put out a few extra dollars for a memorable experience, I recommend you do so.
