This place is every bit as impressive as you would expect from a name like Morimoto. The decor is interesting, the service - attentive, and the food is great.
We had the omakase - a 8 course tasting menu with the first three courses representing the cold dishes - some preparation of raw fish, the following three dishes were hot - both fish and meat, the seventh course was a sushi sampler and finally, the eighth - dessert.
Everything was delicious... with a few minor hiccups here and there. One of the fish courses had a yuzu sauce. The sauce complimented the fish perfectly, except they had used way too much - to the point where it was completely overpowering the taste of the fish. The wagyu beef was great - my portion was rare, with a succulent texture and just melted in the mouth. My wife's, however, was the end piece of the roast. It was medium-well and somewhat dry. The dessert was just not good - panacotta with half an inch of gelatin on top - it did not fit the restaurant and it did not taste great.
These few issues were minor, however, and did not detract from an overall fantastic experience.
Oh yeah.... also, get the sake pairing - you won't regret it.
