This Place is EXACTLY what you'd expect for a trendy NYC hotel. Very small, extremely modern and hip. For a NYC hotel right in Times Square this place is very reasonable for their pricing. They have a rooftop bar that is exquisite. Their fine dining restaurant has a 5-star menu and in my opinion serve the best desserts. The lounge is so cozy and can accommodate privacy if need be. Whether it's just two of you, by yourself or a whole group. There's areas that can be closed off that have couches and coffee tables. Seems they have different events going on throughout the week. The staff is one of the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Whether it was staff at the restaurant, lounge, bars or hotel staff they were ALL so very pleasant. We were welcomed immediately upon check in. Staff and clients were playing JINGA in the lobby. The music was a tad to loud for me but at least they played good tones. Also it smelled so good. It smelled like I was at Hollister They also gave us a free drink token to use at the lounge, good for one complimentary house drink. I didn't care for it. However my husband enjoyed them very much. Also showed us the elevator access panel. It was all digital and we have never encountered one before. So at first we were very confused. Seeing how you must select your floor BEFORE getting into the elevator, because once you're in the elevator there are NO buttons inside (well besides the obvious HELP button). So it was a little tricky especially after having a few cocktails. I will admit I played ring around the elevator a few times...LOL
But within a day we had it down and started helping others we could tell were just as confused as we once were... lol
I highly recommend The Moxy and We Will Be Back Again.

Had a wonderful time here. Had the best frozen drink ever. Atmosphere was very vibrant and happy. Sat at a table that was on a platter that spun slowly to have 360 view of the rooftop lounge and skyline. Staff was aamazingand delightful. Will definitely be back again.

Buggy website "reset" my reservation to the current date so i've been charged a NO SHOW. They refuse to acknowledge the error or find any solution for my future stay in NYC.

Maybe the hotel is cool but the reservation platform is dangerous and their customer service is truly mediocre.

Excellent hotel. Staff were very friendly. The room we were given was quite large, but I think we got lucky when I compared them to pictures of other rooms. There are complaints that it's quite loud at night. But given its location and a club upstairs it's a fair trade off. There was a cart that gave out free candy during certain hours of the day. Don't know if it was a Christmas special but was quite a nice touch and communal game of jenga in the hallway small additions go a long way. Would definitely stay again if I could get the same room as last time.

The worst customer service ever. Not to mention the satellite TV that did not work from the evening into the next day. Sadly I lost a piece of jewelry and called 5x. Yes 5. Left three messages and still ( three days later) no one has returned my call. Do yourself a favor -skip this hotel. There are plenty more to chose from.

The building architecture is fantastic. The sunshine can through the glass roof and bright the lobby. It save energy and feel natural. When it turns to night, the lobby become a night club style with Neon signature and strong music. The bar on the second floor is also good, you can use the majic coin(get it for free when check in) to drink here. They will check the room key after 11pm to security the safety of hotel. I ve been here in the morning for a cup of coffee and prepare my biz proposal. Room is very nice and full of the intelligence of design for each details. The bed is comfortable too, I fall asleep immediately every night during 4 night. Really enjoy to stay here. Finally, the location really convenient to many famous traveling spot. To walk to time square and mid town is easy. There is a shake shack and several Sephora with 5 mins by feet. And there are many breakfast choices surrounding the hotel too.

Extra shout out to Johan Rosario who went out of his way to help out with my packages. Our trip to NYC was cancelled and he took my packages to Fedex as a big favor. I just received it today. Thank you very much

Very modern and funky hotel, the minute you walk in the lobby door you are greeted with the most amazing scent, staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms although not very big they are very new and modern, perfect for a couple or for the girls trip. Would highlyhighly recommend.

This is one of my favorite hotels in midtown. It s a no frills place, but the rooms are impeccably clean, the prices reasonable and the service polite and friendly. The only downside is some of the rooms leak light under the room doors so I bring eye masks when I stay here. Otherwise an awesome value!

Great value hotel, right near MSG, exceptional service on check in (think the girls name that helped me was Ivette.refardless she was great), comfortable enough room, two good bars on site. Recommend and will be back

Brand new hotel, super close to Times Square and also Penn Station. The hotel is cute, very organized. The checkin and checkout was very uncomplicated, in less than 5 minutes everything is settled. The room is also gracious - the bed I stayed was small and I was banging my foot on the wall, it's worth you asking in the entrance to the room configuration if you are over 1.7m. Cleanliness note 10, quality amenities, hot shower, pillows and comfortable bed. The hotel facilities are tb beautiful!

I was in the process of booking a suite for my birthday this weekend and I decided to call the hotel to get more information on the rooftop lounge and other things they had going on there and the man that picked up the phone seemed to not know anything and as I continued to ask questions he hung up the phone. I only asked 3 questions. That threw me off

__Rooftop bar__Amazing crowd after work. Very unusual rooftop bar. Cocktails are a bit pricey but very good. The place is designed in a glamorous fun fair style, with sexy bunnies and kitties pink giant statues tiny mini golf and a part of the deck is a merry go round/carroussel inspired seating place that rotates while you are having your drinks.

Facility over all is excellent. Nice amenities, friendly staff (especially Rob tending bar) and great dining.
The rooms are suitable for a "New York" or European experience. If you favor a "standard" hotel room, Moxy won't suit you. However, if you are up for a taste of NYC, the small rooms have everything you need. Great shower, comfortable bed, easy to access to the items you need, iron / board, forgotten toiletries, etc.

Magic hour is the name of the lounge in this fancy hotel. It's a large Lounge and a good place to hang out if you want to dress up and show off. Their open rooftop you can see interesting views like this picture of the blue clock located on the top of one of the skyscrapers.

Loved staying here. We had a handful of issues (ac was out in our room all night, crazy long wait at brunch, their bar / restaurant was short staffed and we missed the brunch timeframe) BUT the downstairs staff & bar team made up for it 10 fold! They really turned things around immediately upon us bringing the inconveniences to their attention. This place really is stunning inside and the rooms are a good size - we had a group of 4 with the two queen sized beds. We would definitely stay here again since we visit NYC 1-2x each month!

Terrific cocktails great wine list excellent ambience. Took a star off for exorbitant prices and slow service. Nice to treat yourself every once in awhile but doubt you'll ever be a regular

The late night/early morning front desk man was rude, extremely combative and lacked any form of professionalism. I chose the Moxy bc I thought it would have the top of the line staff. How wrong I was. If you enjoy poor staffing with poor attitudes the by all means this is for you. If not choose one of the sister hotels where the staff has taken professionalism classes

Nice modern property in Midtown/ times square area. Great spot to come back to at night time and have a quick cocktail at the bar. Has one of the best rooftop bars in the city. Close proximity to everything. Expensive but worth it.

Nice little room but that elevator situation sucks. Having to wait minutes for 1 elevator to come down and deliver everyone on every floor to their location is terrible. Nice room and staff though.

Yes, the rooms are really small, but it was ok to me. The staff on the other hand... A childhood friend was visiting, so I went to pick him up in order to show him the city. When we got back he asked 1 of the security guards about the hotel bar and was told it was closed. This employee then went on to say stuff like why waste time, I am ready for him (my friend), and we should just head to the room and do our business. After that we were seating in front of the elevators in the lobby just chatting and as the same employee was bringing 3 young girls upstairs (there were not customers of the hotel) he thought it would be funny to stop by us again saying why are you still seating here, you cannot start doing IT here, referring to sex. Ok, now nothing in our behavior necessited such disrespectful and disgusting comments. We were not kissing, holding hands, seating close or anything. All these comments were directed at my friend with other sexist comments like I was not even there. We were so shocked at the moment we just did not know what to say. It was really inappropriate and so unprofessional!! I felt violated, and I am planning on filing a complaint with the hotel management so this guy can be retrained and taught that it is not ok to harass customers.
UPDATE: The response I received was just for the readers of this review. Indeed, I sent them an email 2-3days later, and never got a reply .

I come to the city a few times a year. This hotel is my new fav. Bars, restaurants, roof top all excellent! Place was borderline too nice and we kept finding ourselves hanging out at the bar/ roof and ignoring the rest of the city. Slightly edging out Citizen M. 4 stars above Yolo. One star above knickerbocker and half the price.

My partner and I booked our vacation to New York in the month of August and decided to stay at this hotel because of its location and because it seemed modern and functional. After 12 hours of travel when we arrived at the hotel they tell us that they do not have rooms and that they have to give us an individual one and that the next morning they would assign us the correct one. We found it amazing that we booked the hotel so long in advance and, considering that it is a large hotel and that it has a large number of rooms, they did not have the room we had booked. The worst thing was not that, but the answer we received from the supposed "director" or "manager" who adopted a cocky attitude and told us that if it did not look good we would check out and we could leave. At 22:00 at night, newcomers, without knowing the city and a hotel error, I have to leave and look for my life when I made the reservation 3 months before? His attitude was horrible. Finally, after the displeasure, we decided to put the mattress on the floor and rest a little. The next day, in the afternoon we received our room and in compensation we received a free breakfast and we deducted the first night of stay. Now, in Spain we find that the hotel has not yet made the first night's refund. Bad experience although the hotel is a good choice because of the location.

NEVER COME HERE WITH A BABY. Never. We are two families with two babies, and they have no bassinets for the babies. Of course we ordered the rooms in advance and made sure they knew we have babies with us. We have no idea what to do now. And they dont care at all. They said that if we cant deal with it we can just find another hotel. I will never come here again or recommend anyone coming here. Terrible place.

Cool, very hip hotel. Rooms a small, but that's NYC.
Was looking for the ice machine, ran into a manager named Mike(or matt?) In the elevator. We asked where we could get ice, he asked our room number and said he'd have someone bring some to us. Less than a minute of us getting back to our room, there was someone at the door with a bucket of ice.
10/10 will stay again

That s what a proper New York hotel should look like: modern, original and fresh. Good room size, great deco, amazing bar and friendly staff. Oh and the elevators...just wow...great music choice and modern.

I am a Marriott Titanium Elite Member. I arrived at the Moxy at 8:45 am. Since it was early, I expected to drop off my bag for the hotel to hold onto until I checked in later that day. I checked in, got my hotel keys, went up to my room, dropped my bag off, and left for the day. I came back to the hotel around 7:30 pm and my key card wasn't working when I tried to enter my hotel room. I went to the lobby and was informed that someone else had checked into my hotel room and my bag was in storage. This was unacceptable and the hotel should have handled this better. This is a major safety issue. Never stay here.

Room not cleaned while we stayed.... No fans when requested, took over two hours to find out that they don't have any fans on property. Additionally took over an hour to receive our towels after they didn't clean or room. Only positive about this hotel is location. Also very loud to the point they supply ear plugs, did attempt the roof top bar/club and two drinks cost $35.00. Nothing is Quality truly very disappointed. Will never stay at this hotel again. Oh and showers are not really private frosted glass if you have kids or are a blended family be prepared.

This place is a scam. They had 48 hrs cancelation. We did the cancel 3 days before and they never cancel it. They kept on going back to charge our credit card even after our credit card company reverse the charge. Do not stay here

Nice location and set-up, but the worst customer service experience we have ever had. Arrived to find the double room we had prebooked 3 months before was 'not available' and instead we were given a single room with one single bed to share. After much arguing and complaining the hotel offered a refund of $25 on a $250 a night room - not even the difference between a single and a double room. Easily the worst customer service I've ever seen, we moved to a lovely hotel in Tribeca instead. Shocked to see the Marriott would put their name to this...

Always love staying at this hotel when I m in NYC for work. The bar has great drinks and food and the amenities are great. I just checked out and was attempting to grab an Uber and Steven the doorman went above and beyond to make sure I got out of the cold quickly and was on time to where I needed to go. He truly made my day a little bit brighter by being so attentive and just great all around. Thank you, Steven!!

Great place to visit but here in new York is cold!!! Be prepared for the whether out side!!! People living here don't mind the whether but being from California I'm not ready for this climate!!!

Pretty cheap hotel close to times square, the rooms are well maintained although a tad small.

It's usually loud in the rooms, I believe there is a club on one of the lower floors, you can definitely hear it during the night.

Plenty of eateries nearby.

Completely unprofessional management and leadership at this location. Had identity theft while in NYC and my credit card company graciously over nighted me a new credit card. Went to the front desk to receive my package that was signed for at 11:32 am and they told me they don t receive packages that I needed to walk down the block and pick it up at the UPS store down the street. I clearly stated that I was a guest here and didn t pay to
Stay at ups and they were responsible for my package if I sent it there. They could care less. When I arrived to UPS there was a 20
Minute line causing me to miss my dinner reservation. They couldn t find my package in the midst of their stacks and stacks of packages, even though it was confirmed delivered at 11:32 am. The hotel staff continued to argue with me that the package wasn t delivered even though I had a tracking number. They never apologized. The worse was Sampson who continuously was argumentative and rolled his eyes at me several times. He told me he checked with fed ex and it wasn t delivered, yet it was a ups package. He said there was nobody named Jaysen at ups who signed for the package although it was confirmed by another manager that there was a Jaysen who worked there. All in all the lack of leadership and ability to handle this situation in an apologetic manor was deplorable and could have been remedied with a simple I m Sorry. I don t need management to roll their eyes at me because they are inconvenienced when you ask them to
Do their job. Secondly as a Marriott fan I can t believe that they handled this situation this way, in the past I ve been overwhelmed by the customer service I receive at Marriott properties. Not the case at this location.

I think it s the room I got but the noise came thru like l was at a bus stop. Even at 7th fl, I heard every truck that drove by.

Otherwise it s a very efficient and hip place to stay. Location is great.

Awesome view, great for photo ops. Loved the mini golf, bonus points for being totally free woth no line. The art makes for great conversation starter, just don't bring your parents. I like that there was an indoor, an outdoor, and a semi-covered area. The entire place, from the entrance to the drinks is a total experience.

The space is cool looking and modern. Location is good. Check in was a mess. As a Marriott Platinum I did online check in the day before and stated 330 arrival time. Room wasn t ready when we arrived and it took about 15-20 minutes for us to get out of the lobby and into the room.

The rooms are far too small. It is difficult to function with 2 adults in the King room. Smallest room I have ever seen outside of Tokyo. The lighting in the room is terrible for make up and hair according to my wife. The bar on the second floor is nice but the service was terrible. Took 20 minutes to get our first drink. 40 minutes for a shrimp cocktail. Then nobody came back for refills or to take a dinner order. I had to get up and ask and learned that our server was on break. We ended up leaving with no dinner and went across the street to the Pig N Whistle Pub which by the way got us seated and fed in under 20 minutes. Very funny story we actually saw our server from the hotel at the Pig N Whistle early fries at the bar on her break. I recommend that pub but won t be back to stay at the Moxy again.

Final note was room not cleaned for 2 days in a row. We ran out of toilet paper and had to call to request and ask room to be cleaned. Front desk claimed we had do not disturb on which we specifically checked and we did not. So a lie to avoid any type of accountability. They then asked us (at 3pm when we called) if we really did need a room cleaning. Unreal.

Hotel best avoided for those that are used to something nicer than a hostel.

The hotel is in a nice location and has been recently renovated from the top down, interesting history for the building . When we stayed the hotel had only been open a couple of weeks. The entire hotel is very trendy and modern. The bar area is open concept and very interesting setup. The bar staff was very friendly and enjoyable. The rooms are extremely small but equipped with almost everything you would require for a stay. The basic requiremnt of having towels in the bathroom were not able to be met. We noticed there were no bath towels in the bathroom around 8:00 am and one of us went down to the lobby to get some and they said they would bring some right up. We waited about 30 minutes and we called down to request towels again and they said they would bring them up immediately. By 9 am we had to go with what we had which was a hand towel and a washcloth. We both left hating the hotel by the time we walked out of the door ... This is very basic requirement and I have never had zero bath towels in a hotel room. One final thing the one floor towel that was going to be used was soaking wet because the shower leaks so bad. So the hotel may look really nice now it doesn't seem like they put it together well.

I have contacted this hotel a number of times during my stay and after check out, manager didn t respond to my concerns. I received a checking in email that I also responded to and that did not get a reply.
Over priced and noisey hotel - hence the earplugs you are given in your room, air conditioning and music.
Don t expect to access rooftop if you stay here. Elevators are a very long wait. I upgraded my room size as I was informed my room would only fit one suitcase. Room was larger than I expected and looked like it was for wheelchair access according to the layout in the room and shower area. I would have got 5 large suitcases in the Queen bed room area.
Two stars for cleanliness and location only.
