Very polite staff and provided very good room service
Great prices, rooms are just right, breakfast is meh, staff seem great. Cleanliness is good!
Love this hotel. Second stay there. Fix the ice cream machine tho...
DO NOT STAY HERE Money stolen from our room and staff were not interested. Heard of other customers having their safes broken into and shopping bags taken. No sign of a break in so would not trust staff.
Interesting hotel. Even our upgraded room was very small, but we made it work.
The hotel is expensive, noisy and not so well placed ... there are other more welcoming places in Manhattan!
The hotel is very good and very clean, however it is quite noisy (music everywhere throughout the day).
We 1st went to The Magic Hole rooftop bar. What a fun place. Very whimsical! There's naughty topiaries and carousel sofas that spin. You can play putt putt golf. Then, we ate at the restaurant Legasea. Very good seafood. I had the tuna au poivre. Very good! My husband had the mediterranean Dorado. Excellent! Everything was very fresh. If you're with a group that likes shellfish, try the lobster pot. It's a summer time special and can be shared by 2 or 3 people. That and try the macaroni and cheese, it was awesome!
Hopping place. Great location. Energetic throughout!
Loved staying here. Cozy rooms that were modern and clean.
Air conditioning doesnt work. Had 4 different engineers try to help and fix but no help. Shower leaked. Rooms were extremely small and not worth what you pay for. Take my advice and go somewhere cheaper and better. Zero stars.
Great location. Right in Times Square. Small rooms. This place is hip ...At least, it tries to let you know how hip it is by the bars in the hotel especially on the roof and the loud music. Think of it as a hotel club. If you're in your 20s you'll probably love it.
And I wouldn't have minded it if the roof bar wasn't promoted to my fiance and I as a "must see" then when we try to go are told it's "closed for a private party" ...what the f*ccccck homeboy?! So we go to the second floor bar because we have two tokens for each of our first drinks but we end up waiting and waiting and waiting until we just leave ...and it was only somewhat busy.
We get back to the hotel room where I crawl over the bed to get to the other side because you can't walk to the other side of the bed.
Your better half better hope you don't have to take a wee in the middle of the night or else s/he will get rolled on for you to actually get to the bathroom but I digress. I finally get to the other side of the bed when the ceiling, wall and bed start shaking and vibrating to the music in the club. At this point, my fiance bolts out the door and says she's headed to the Irish pub Sullivan's to be with other adults.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that the elevators are so fast closing that I almost had my hand hacked-off because the elevators are so quick to close and don't even remain open even by sticking your arm or leg inside to stop the doors and open them like every other hotel on Earth.
So in all it's a nice hotel but if you want a more "grown-up service" you might want to stay at another hotel. Maybe I should just have them read me a bedtime story ...that is not a joke. You can press a button on the phone and the hotel will have a bedtime story read to you. The hotel only provides two pillows one for each of you. If you want another pillow you have to go to "the stash" on each floor. And for a chair there is a bean bag. I can't type anymore my fiance and I are laughing too hard. We're guests of 12 year olds. 12 year olds have opened a hotel.
It is a chill place, tranquil, and good to drink some cocktails and talk with friends. Not that expensive or it is probably me that find it affordable. It is also close to every place in nyc and subway is close to it. Very satisfied and i am looking forward to visit again. For new visitors or tourists, it is a must go
This is a very nice place, quaint sexy and in the thick of things.
Nice little place but I don't recommend it to families or inactive people at night because on the top floor there's music at full volume until 3, but from the 13th floor down you can't hear and if you ask for a room on a low floor the damage
Our first time there from Toronto my daughters & I for my 60th bday trip..We had a mixup in rooms they fixed it and gave us some discounts..staff was awesome..especially in the Bar on second floor.. Our rooms were spotless cleaned. WE will be back..Pamela
Flaunting the red thong over my tight bellbottom jeans in Times Square!
Went to the rooftop. Was nice to see things opening up. Tao group do great job.
Strongly depended on who you talk with at the reception and what room you receive...Hotel is okay for a weekend trip but not for longer. Especially on the weekends the rooftoop bar is so loud it might bother some during their sleep.
Tiny little rooms with no place to even put down your stuff. Bed was pushed against the wall a in the corner, meaning if one person had to get up during the night, they would have to climb over the other person. We arrived at 7pm and were told their system was down and they could not check us in. After waiting around for a while, we left and had dinner, then returned a couple hours later and were told they could finally check us in. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, but could not wait to get out of there the first morning, which we did.
The rooms were beautifully designed, space efficient, and clean. The shower quality was excellent. The bed was comfortable. There were a few nice touches like a welcome drink at bar moxy, free candy in the lobby, and water bottles given liberally. However, the thumping music from the bar made its way to our room every night. No warning given from the front desk for this impossible to ignore problem - they did provide earplugs by the bedside table though. That said, definitely avoid if you're a light sleeper.
you you are a couple or single it will be a nice place to come to with your partner or mingle ...not really for families but very nice and great service
Not my favorite place. Kinda sleazy. They have bedtime stories on phone like it's a porn or red light spot. There is no chic here. The rooms are small and no fridge in room and the front desk ask for you to get ice at the bar . crazy. Fun to go to club for a night but not reccomend to stay. Find a better NYC .
Lota of great things to really love about this property. However. The BIG(and only)issue w this property is the room size. The rooms are tiny. If you're staying w your significant other, its okay(still smallish). If you're staying by yourself ,or on your own for a work trip, then this size is perfect. In fact, the hotel boasts a large working/eating space (with 1 or 2 areas that can be quarantined off in case you need privacy). I feel its important to cover the small room sizes first as it kind of suprises you. Aside from the great, free flowing work/drink/eat area the hotel conects to a restaurant, rooftop bar and a cool (ie: cheap!) Egg Sandwhich spot with great egg sandwiches starting at $5. The property is also very cool design-wise and looks clean and brand new. The elevator concept needs work. I think all guests are used to jabbing the floor # and getting in, but these are different and go by floor (you'll still spot those drunk party revelers stumbling into lobby and confused on how to get there room. Just be patient w them and/or maybe hit the Button for them).
For me, staying in Manhattan is something I abore as I feel its too touristy , too crowded snd too expensive. However if you're here for a show, or especially a work meeting/trip then this property is great. I was here for both and it fit the bill.
Now, The BIGGEST plus of the property is the management and staff . We ADORED Victoria and Ashley. They made such an impression I still remember there names days after our stay. We had some original misfires(as we walked in ton check in, one girl was helping us. She clearly was preoccupied w something else in her mind and simply walked away from us in the middle of checkin. She never came back.)After 7 minutes of waiting, we were fortunate to meet Ashley. She tool care of us and went above and beyond. Great girl, she BELONGS in the world of hospitality. We later had an issue w the room and casually brought it up to the manager , Victoria and she handled it very well and made us feel appreciated. Victoria is the manager and she was A+ as well. It's there help that would bring me back ! Give em a shot and see for yourself
One of the worst hotel concepts that I've visited. Friendly front desk staff would be my one compliment. The rooms blend the styles of a summer camp with that if a halfway house while the bathroom seems to have been designed by someone used to working on prison showers. No irons or ironing boards in room. Furniture that folds and hangs on walls. A beanbag? The room is not relaxing and the elevators are frightening. Service in the bar was terrible. Never again.
If you clastrofobic the Moxy hotel is not for you. Room are small.. And I mean realy small. When you get to your room you will find earplugs, this are essential part of your weakened escape/vecation. The noise go trough the window glass to your room and without the earplugs your night sleep is doomed. If you an hotel guest, don't expect to have access to the roof top lounge. You can go there till 9:00 but after this cutoff time , if you not on the guest list, just forget about it, and look for other place to spand your time. The restorant food was good, but service is extremely slow. Took us almost 20min to get our drink orders to the table and one hour to get the main dish served (after long wait for the starter dish) but when the food came out it was good!! We paid for a night $185 with taxes. If you on the budget and looking for low cost trendy place in Manhatten this hotel is your option , you will get what you paid for in the Moxy but realy not mite then that .For a little bit more there are much better options in Manhatten. Very disappointed expiriance, will not go back to this hotel.
Nice room forniture, good entertainment system, not good place for long stay: totally missing space for clothes and personal belongings, a wardrobe or similar etc.
great stay here, excellent rooms, nice overall vibe and touches and walking distance of lots of places. comfy beds, good showers. my tip: use the bathroom socket to power your mobile as the charge from the wall socket by the bed is a bit weak if you're trying to power several devices, the standard sockets seems to not give out enough amperage.
Great little hotel in the a great location, very walkable to many sightseeing attractions. The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the staff were very friendly. There isn't parking on site, but there is some next door, although that is fairly pricey, which is standard for where this is. If you're driving here, might be a good idea to look for parking elsewhere beforehand.
Very good place for stay in NYC for couple of days. Room was clean and comfy but for longer stay can be a little claustrophobic
Great location, super comfortable room! 1st time we do not regret our bed on a trip.
We had a Queen Plus room for 9 nights in July 2019. We had good nights, NYC remains a busy city, but we were not bothered by the noise of the city. Provide for the light sleep of the earplugs to isolate you to the maximum.
If by chance, members of the hotel read this review, can you give me the mark of mattresses, they are really very good!
Any loan from Time Square, Madison Square Garden, shops, ...
The metro lines are very accessible (yellow, red, blue, ...) enough to get anywhere in NYC. It takes max 7/8 min walk to access the various subways.
We recommend this hotel for its comfort, location, cleanliness.
terrible hotel, disliked nypd , showed no care for anything. Very inconsiderate, i would not recommend staying here
COMPLIMENTARY COAT CHECK! Lots of room be a wallflower if you don't want to dance and a video/photo booth
Nice try, WAY too small.
Only if you think cramming in a room smaller than your suitcase is cool. Some of the rooms don't have windows that face the street, niise from the roof bar at night, noisy AC right behind the small bed.
I came with a friend and the room simply couldn't fit our stuff. We fled after one night. I have to say the staff was cool about it, and didn't charge us or anything. We are probably not the right typecast.
Very good hotel, modern and with lots of waves .....
it's an amazing place their facility and staff are top tier highly recommended
Rude Front Desk people and all other hotel staff members; young kids who don t know what they are doing. The hotel refused to send me water and instead instructed me to go downstairs to the bar area to buy water! NO ROOM SERVICE!!!!
I got bedbug bites and rashes my first night. I asked to be switched to a new room...I did get a new room, but a smaller one.
If you want to stay in an apartment-like hotel, then this place is for you. Otherwise, I prefer staying somewhere else.
Well-stocked bar and knowledgeable staff. Plenty of seating when we were there and the food came out pretty quickly, too.
I loved the place. It's build to attract millennials. Staff was very friendly. You have complementary breakfast and drink tickets for their restaurants and bar. Will definitely stay at Moxy the next time I am in NYC again.
This is the coolest hotel I have ever seen! It was amazing. It was small but in an awesome way and the rest of the hotel def. Makes up for it.
This place is absolutely hands down the best place in Manhattan to stay at, Jamal and the hotel crew are amazing. Made my anniversary even more special. Will be staying here again and again and again.
Excellent stay, modern though small rooms, perfect location
Great location fun forward thinking hotel. Had to wait all day to get my room but was worth it rooms are small but its NYC - all rooms are small. Great bar and rooftop brunch.
Nice hotel in time sequare. It's very cheap compare to other hotels.
Good espresso but served in a paper cup due to covid
Very pleasant surprise, trendy, comfortable great staff, atmosphere will recommend to clients
Great vibe, awesome location, small rooms would have given 5 star
if you are coming to visit NYC then i wouldnt recommend this hotel. rooms on top floor are below the rooftop bar/club and there is 0 chance of sleeping. if the window is open the music can break your eardrums, if the window is shut then get ready for the AC that sounds like a helicopter. we complained and were moved on 4th floor, however staff all lack a smile on their face and empathy. it seems that most of them hate their job as they never look you in the face when talking to them and it took us 3 managers to get some sort 9f refund given that we couldn't sleep in a HOTEL
facility is poor. massive lack of storage, there are loads of hooks, but the room looks a mess when all your clothes are out hanging in front of your face.
Just checked in at 930pm. The staff was completely rude at the front desk. It took them about 25minutes to check me in. No one explained any reason for the delay. What made it more painful is I had 2 suitcases, a bookbag and another carry on bag with me. No one told me about the hotel at all. I was not briefed on how to log on to the internet or anything. My experience here so far has been very poor. 25minute wait and no one even says why? No where to sit down. No one to help with my bags. I give this place 1 star.
I strongly advise against it, the hotel sells dreams on paper but the reality is far from the American dream.
We were 4 friends for two evenings we had a great view of the wall of a slum which was right next to the hotel. We asked for four single beds as a result of the shopping: a double bed and a single bed, one of us had to sleep two nights on the floor to compensate for this problem we offered breakfasts, sure it's nice but more that normal finally we have changed the room have blocked us a good part of the day because have made us understand that we must quickly clear to free the room for the next no tact.
And to finish almost a month later on the bank account of my friend 22 dollars of invoiced whereas everything had been settled with the fure and during the voyage to avoid the hidden expenses. We are sure that having changed the rooms that the following tenants have not paid any of their extra and have asked to bill them at the end of the trip now remains to be proven that nothing was taken from the hotel bar. I spare you the disappointment of the size of the rooms which frankly at the price we pay could be larger and with a minimum of service for the 4 stars there is just a gym in the basement. So big negative point of the trip to the hotel I'm sure there are more welcoming hotels in beautiful New York City.
Fabulous staff! Kudos and appreciation to Manager Christian and front desk staff Marisol who helped me today when I lost my phone. They couldn t have been friendlier or more helpful. Besides being a gorgeous hotel the staff really takes hospitality to the next level.
Small has all features. has nice lounges. good surrounding
Adorable rooms friendly staff and great location. The bar downstairs can be really loud and runs late into the night, the hotel provided earplug.
If anybody out there is looking for great deals for hotels and resorts visit . reserved a hotel on there and they had the best rates worldwide!
Amazing hotel, awesome service & the gentleman behind the counter last night was AMAZING! He checked me in very quickly and EVEN upgraded my room for free!
The moxy hotel is amazing. It s different and the employees are amazing. I had no issues with it being loud like I read in some other reviews.
The ladies at the check in area were so friendly to us, especially Crystal. She helped us find some things to do in the city when we didn t really know and it s just a blast being in the hotel lobby with them. It was the most unique experience I ve ever had at a hotel. Any problem we had they fixed it within an hour max. 10/10 would recommend and will be back when I m in New York again.
Good strategic location, really a few minutes walk from Time Square. Also good cleaning.
Staff very kind and helpful
Coffee in the morning (but not breakfast), free PCs, printers and WI-Fi.
Unfortunately, the rooms are too small. The bed had the wall on 3 sides, so all those over 1.75 meters fit inside.
There are no wardrobes, just hangers along the wall.
There is not even a comfortable place to store your suitcases.
I would recommend it to those who travel without too much luggage and want to have everything close at hand.
Clean room and liked the room design. Small but cozy with a really great shower. Reasonably priced for the location. Had two fire alarms during our stay which made our young daughter a little uneasy. Not a common occurance I'm sure. Doorman very attentive and recognized guests as they neared the entrance. Friendly staff and convenient bar on 2nd floor. Had no noise issues on 12th floor. Very quiet. Found the "stash closet" on our floor near the end of our stay which had extra blankets and pillows. We'll be back :)
A trendy New York hotel in Times Square!
We could not get better.
Here for a three night stay in January. Loved the style and design of the rooms, and all of the staff we interacted with were great. It was a bit noisy at night since our room was next to the street and the hotel is right near Times Square, but they provide earplugs and those did the trick. The bar is quite nice- music there and in the lobby gets loud in the evening. They will happily store luggage for you. An ad on the chromecast, Netflix and Pandora equipped TV said they had yoga kits for guests but found this not to be the case. Definitely download and utilize the Marriot app for your stay here.
So, I start this as someone who runs a cleaning services company. I was very impressed by the level of cleanliness of my room and impressed by the cleanliness of the public areas.
The staff, including the reception staff, were polite and friendly.
The room lived up to the website 'hype' - small as you expect from a New York hotel room - but well designed. It has a real 'boutique' hotel feel to it. I particularly appreciated the wall hooks to hang clothes from which meant that I could unpack all the necessary clothes I needed for my 7 night stay.
The room was quieter than expected - i was on the 8th floor - and there was no appreciable external noise that disturbed me. I think the idea of having the 'Stash' rooms was excellent and very useful facility.
The only negative really was the air conditioning in the room did not go below 68 degrees which was a bit disappointing given that I stayed during a heatwave.
We thought the aesthetic of the hotel was great, and the staff very friendly, but superficial prettiness aside. the customer service left us very frustrated and disappointed. We were staying here with a baby that came down with a stomach bug on the third day of our stay, and despite repeated requests, no one came to service our room for hours when we desperately needed it. So we were left to camp out in the lounge, which was blasting really loud music, with a vomit-drenched baby at 8:30pm whilst waiting for someone to finally help us. We eventually requested to be taken to get fresh sheets and half-make the bed ourselves, because our daughter was feeling very unwell and we needed to get her into bed stat.
Another source of frustration was that of the 17 floors to choose from, we were allocated a room on the third floor - right above the bar and lounge. The pounding music from said lounge went on till late at night, and was so loud through the floor that I could easily sing along and the bass literally made the bed shake. All well and good for most people, but how is a nine month old expected to sleep through this? The earplugs we were provided didn t exactly solve our problem.
Echoing one of the above comments, definitely not recommended for those with little children!!
DO NOT STAY HERE!
Horrible hotel. Pictures on the website are of an ADA room, not the room you will get. If you have more than one person in a room, forget about it. We reserved a king and wish we would have stayed anywhere but here.
It's a nice concept, that they try to sell as millennial, but that only works if millennials settle for far less than average.
The only thing it has going for it is location. Go in expecting less than average service, staff, and amenities.
We went to check out magic hour, the rooftop bar at hotel. It's fairly new so not everything is up and running. The ambiance is pretty cool
