AVOID HOTEL MOXY TIMES SQUARE AT ALL COSTS (WHICH WILL SAVE YOU TREMENDOUSLY)
It's a hotel that wants to be a night club - not for everyone, especially business travelers. Restaurants are "third party" - so Marriott or the Moxy have no control or say, there for as a guest of the hotel, your NOTHING TO THEM. They treat you like a POS if you are a single business traveler, just looking for a meal. They rent out their dinner space for private parties, meaning your hotel guests are shut out.
I hold platinum status with Marriott, and get treated better at the F airfield Inn at $89/night, than I do at a Signature Hotel at $500+/night. Management and customer service are horrible - they do not care, rather than treat you like a guest, they treat you like an inconvenience. HORRIBLE Experience.
I actually dig the small rooms, and the art museum feel. I don't mind the loud music, and like the boutique feel. However, customer service is still the back bone of the hotel industry, and Marriott prides itself on treating it's guests (and members) first class - THIS HOTEL DOES NOT!

The hotel is great, rooms are small but entirely functional and cozy.
Staff is unenthusiastic and seems to prefer to avoid guests.
Have stayed at Moxy Berlin and had an excellent experience. The Moxy NYC has not been successful in replicating the experience.
Not the high energy, fun staff at other Moxy hotels.

Very Rude staff for a Marriott Hotel! Bar wait staff acted like they didn t want to wait on you, we left something in the room and the front didn t want to help us.
Rooms are claustrophobic and hallways are dark.

When asking specifically about our weekend reservation, we were told that hotel guests had a separate entrance for the rooftop bar (via email so we have this in writing even...) When we asked about finding the line when we arrived on Saturday we were told that we had to wait in the line that was already wrapping around the block!
We also requested a quieter room and were denied. Even at 4 floors below the rooftop bar it's impossible to block out the music. Lobby music was also too loud to even get through the check in process without yelling. We then attempted to use the tokens we were given at check in (which we were told was good "one drink at the lobby bar") but were rejected again by the waitress who informed us they were actually only good for their strawberry cocktail. We counted over 15 of these free drink either being sent back, left behind for the bus boy to dump out, or tokens left on tables after trying a friend's drink. If you're trying to make your guests feel welcome with this sick joke, you're doing a HORRIBLE job.

The only thing cool about the hotel is its setup and how close to Times Square it is. After 10-15 minutes of waiting at their bar/restaurant, I had to go up to the bar to get a waiter, only to be forgotten about 10 seconds later. Their food was average for a hotel.
Another thing to add is that we found human feces in the hallway when we woke up, which was extremely foul.

Stayed here for 5 nights - Literally worst hotel ever I've been to in the past 10 years. Loud music until 2:30am every day. Smell of cigarette in the room every morning. Small room you can barely fit in. All this for $300 / night - Stay away from this place at all cost.

This was a clean, tech-savvy, yet minimalist hotel. Very disappointed because we left a piece of outerwear in our room and called a mere 30 minutes after our departure and it was reported as not recovered - very disappointed. Was guided to use an online forum to report the loss. Then weeks later was emailed it was never recovered when the item was very aptly laid on a chair was very upsetting. Sometimes too much technology is an Achilles heel. Would rather the personal touch of a human checking and assisting.

The hotel was very nice and the room was very clean. I enjoyed my stay, but as I was leaving around 5 pm the doorman was very rude and didn t help me find a cab. The doorman didn t help me put my luggage in the cab s trunk and he did not respect me or the cab driver. The doorman yelled at me and the cab driver and didn t not handle the scene properly.

A gem. A unique boutique hotel with electric energy and cool downtown vibes. Kid-friendly, too. Very happy with my short stay -- I didn't want to leave. From the amazing, stylish bars (especially the killer rooftop bar!) and restaurants (the seafood is delicious at their posh and spacious, seafood brasserie, Legasea) to the impeccably decorated, cozy room (oh, and that rain shower and bed = perfection!)... Meanwhile, the very reasonable rates are jaw-dropping. Stay here.

I've been to this place before the pandemic and I had a good time, however, I do not advise going there during the pandemic because they don't allow you to take any pictures in the rooftop, which you'll be tempted to do because they have a great aesthetic to take pics, also, their staff follows you around harassing to put your masks on even if you are social distancing. My friend spent her birthday there and when we tried taking pictures, security would come and harass us. The security guard was very rude to us, even if the photographer wore a mask. The bill for the birthday girl came out to almost $650.00 and we were treated very poorly. I would recommend waiting until the covid is over before visiting this spot.

At first we were a bit skeptical about booking because of the reviews: you were left standing at the reception, or the room was not booked ...
Nevertheless, we can only rate the hotel positively and everything was right from arrival to departure.
The staff is friendly and helpful and our room was lovely and clean too!
The rooftop bar is very nice and also very well attended during the week. The cocktails were very tasty :-)
There is one point deduction for the fact that we had a wall from the house next door and the coffee is not served directly in the hotel.

My room was freezing and the heating wouldnt go above 60. When I asked for this to be fixed they gave me a room with 2 beds which were way too small for me. No desks in room to work at while at the hotel. World's least smoothly designed elevator system. I will not be staying at this brand again.

We loved our stay with MOXY, yes the rooms are small but that's the whole point of this place! The rooftop bar has amazing views and it's 2 blocks from Penn Station which is perfect if you're coming from JFK. The staff was friendly and our check in was very fast. I didn't like the elevator system because it denied us access to the bar from our room level so we had to go down to go back up. Also, it is geared toward a younger crowd. I also love that is part of marriott so my husband could use his membership points! The room was clean and new and the shower was amazing after a long night walking around NYC. Will definitely stay here next time we are in town.

MOST NYC Times is a boutique hotel conveniently located within blocks of Penn Station. The overall feel is fresh, fun, young and modern. Upon arriving, I was greeted almost immediately and was checked in with my key card in-hand in less than 10 minutes. I thought that was pretty impressive considering it was a Friday night. The rooms are smaller than that of a typical hotel...think Tiny House Nation sponsored by Ikea with a few compromises. It was the smallest I have stayed in but also the most modern. The interior design was minimal and simple yet efficient with every space having purpose. Some amenities included a hairdryer, garmet steamer, bottled water. My bed was full size (or double) which was okay for just me but I don't think I would have been thrilled had it actually been a double occupancy. While the actual bed itself was quite comfortable, the bedding could use some upgrading, especially in the pillow department. There were only two which were very small and limp from the lack of filling. I could've used two more myself and another blanket wouldn't have hurt. The wall-mounted flat screen tv was generously sized, equipped with a soundbar and Chromecast to connect devices. There was a window that could be opened about 3 inches which was just enough to see a brick wall and take in the sound of that NYC street buzz. There was a shade that allowed some natural light into the room while blocking out the city nightlife. Access to the window and shade wasn't easy or safe! It was actually very inconvenient because in order to reach it I had to climb on top of the bed, stand up and lean over the headboard! The bathroom was nicely sized with a tiled walk-in shower with the words "deep end" at your feet. I really enjoyed the pump bottles of body wash/shampoo and conditioner inside of the shower. They were large and full unlike the greedy little bottles at most hotels.

Small rooms, but of course this is NYC. Stayed there a week and the fire alarms went off twice in the middle of the night but there was never any fire. Windows were not sealed off properly and the room was drafty. Staff was average and did not seem overly friendly or helpful. Good value for the location.

When we checked in I specifically asked if my card was being charged or if it was just being put on file, as we would like to split the bill between our party at checkout. I was assured that it would not charge me and that we could split the bill at checkout. That was wrong. My account was hit for $1800.00 immediately and when I tried to get it resolved I was told that they could fix it however it could take up to a week for my money to be put back in my account. Not cool!!!! To add insult to injury our room was not cleaned two days in a row and when I reported it the response was you can get yourself clean towels from the stash closet. When we checked out I was asked how our stay was, I told him it was not great. His reply was Have a good day. You would have thought he would have inquired why we had a bad stay. Rude, lazy staff! I would highly suggest against waisting your money staying at The Moxy!

There is an event every Thursday and you can't sleep with loud music. It is in a prime location and is convenient. It was too fashionable and I didn't know how to ask for room makeup. I stayed in a room where the intention was displayed by turning on the light instead of hanging the placard on the doorknob.

Walk in to find yourself surrounded by funky bear tree sculptures, pink bunnies and interesting furniture. The rooftop offers a one-of-a-kind personalized experience as the staff makes sure you feel at home. We got a table at the rooftop bar fir new years and enjoyed our experience to the max. The ceiling of the roof is removable making the joint suitable for any type of weather. Definitely will come back and definitely recommending this spot.

As a Marriott Rewards Gold members, I have to say ...
As a Marriott Rewards Gold members, I have to say this brand is not up to the Marriott brand expectations. We picked this hotel as it was decently priced and near our conference venue. Our checkin process was great and we even got a free upgrade to a room with a larger bed and a bunk bed. It felt like summer camp and my wife actually took the top bunk for the fun of it. From this point the problems started to show. First, the room size is very small. This was the upgraded room, and it was VERY small, smaller than any other hotel in NYC we have seen. To continue, there were basic hotel amenities that were missing. These were things like an ice bucket/ice machine, fan in the bathroom, a desk and chair, a solid door, even a garbage can (there is only a very small one in the bathroom). The door has frosted glass in it, which makes it very difficult to sleep with so much light from the hallway coming in. We did find a way to jerry rig a towel to hang over the window to block some of this light. This is a party hotel, and it became obvious when at 4:15am at night, the fire alarm went off, ruining our night's sleep. When the alarm went off, we were given instructions to stay in the room while they investigate. About 10-15 minutes later, we were told it was all clear and the event was "non-life threatening". This was great and we wanted to get back to sleep but they continued for 5 more minutes making the same announcement on the fire alarm system. While the front desk, well front podium staff were extremely friendly, the security/bouncers all over the place were not. They were rude, very unfriendly and made you feel intimidated when going to your room. I get that this place doubles as a night club, but, there is a separate entrance for those going to the night club, they should put the bouncers at that entrance and out of the hotel portion. The elevators are cool, but, do not read you card most of the time. Trying to scan you keycard is difficult as the sensors are not very strong. This became more annoying as the trip went on. All in all, we lucked out on pricing. This hotel was about $50 a night cheaper than any others in the area. Since we spent very little time in the room, many of the items above were a slight inconvenience. If you are planing on spending more time in your room, or need a place to work while on your trip, this is not the hotel for you. If when you book the price is cheap and you will use the room just for sleeping, this might be an option.
While this is a fun, modern and very well position...
While this is a fun, modern and very well positioned hotel I can only say how extremely frustrated I am with the service of the hotel. We are in the middle of our nine night stay with the hotel, and for the last two days I have requested we have new bed linen during room service. After waiting for this for two days I lodged a complaint with the reception who assured me I would return after my day out to a new set. When I returned back at 5pm, I found the sheets had not been changed. I called reception again, and they sent room service up. I returned to my room only to find they still had not been changed, and only the bed remade. I again lodged another complaint with reception, who sent room service up while I went to dinner. This time I returned to my room with the bed remade, the she sheets not changed, and to add insult a clean sheet was left on the bed implying I should be the one to change the linen. I called reception again, explained what I had found and they said for sure this time it will changed. I stepped out of the room and returned 45 mins later only to find EXACTLY THE SAME THING AGAIN! Bed remade, sheets not changed and the spare sheet on the bed! I have called reception again and spoke to a manager, who assured me they will be changed now...however I will have to wait and see. The other disappointing aspect of this is after six failed attempts I have not had one offer for any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. Having to leave a room so many times for a service that should be routine and standard is not appreciated. I would suggest people think twice before booking here.

Very nice hotel - modern bedrooms and the location is great, you are close to everything. I would suggest few improvements like ear plugs for the guests and maybe small vanity package in the bedroom. Also, a water in the room that doesn't cost $5 would be great! But, all in all - I recommend it, especially for younger people, and I would come again!

The website of the rooms are impressive, but the reality of the situation is very disappointing.
the room is very noisy, due to the aircon and the electric room next to it.
Inconsistent services on the front desk of the room devision. it's all depends on your lucks. However, Terrain, she is lovely and helpful and shown seh care about customers, Also, the telephone service when customer call from the room, Katy, who knows about her job and the hotel, and delivered the services, Katy only.
However, the restaurants in the hotel are very nice with lovely staff over all.
An experience that will never come back to the hotel in the future, it is not value for money, too stressful to stay.
