Love this place!! Their whiskey sour was perfect...staff was amazing and love the caesar salad. It's close to the Hammerstein Ballroom so if you want somewhere to go before your concert starts I'd suggest this place. Mixed crowd and amazing DJ. Light menu.... nothing to heavy on the menu and they're environmentally friendly. Last thing which is really unimportant but I noticed...the wait staff is gorgeous and soooo helpful but super gorgeous . Side note: I didn't stay at the hotel, just visited the bar but, now that I know.... I'm definitely coming back for the full experience.

The room was the tinniest I have ever stayed in. For the same price I could have stayed at the Westin. The over night staff was very rude to a friend of mine. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

AWESOMELY COOL HOTEL!! Great vibe, great bars, great food, and great staff!! Have stayed here many times - incredibly convenient to everything and just the right mix of comfort, care, and steampunk. Not outrageously priced either. Mimosas on draught, excellent cocktails, we do Moxy every time we have a late show and don't want to make the trek back home. We love the functional room layout and check out the shower tile!

We had a great stay at the Moxy Hotel at the beginning of March. As a family, the rooms have just the right size. There aren't too many of them, but as we're always on the move in New York, that's not a problem.
The atmosphere is modern, with maps and codes everywhere, but you get used to it, what America is. The barber, the tattoo artist and the bar are super cozy places, super nice decor.
The room was clean nothing to say.
We were afraid of the noise compared to the different opinions but frankly nickel. Yet we overlooked the street. Only one evening, noise in the hallway, a room next door where customers were running down the hall. We got up to ask them to calm down and it worked.
The breakfast it is true is not very varied, at the end of a week, one gets bored but there is really something to eat well before walking the streets. There are salty and sweet, hot and cold drinks. After that, for sure, it's not a Frenchie breakfast but at the same time it's the purpose of the trip, right?
The hotel is in a great location to move around New York, we did everything on foot, about 20 km per day. Fortunately, we play sports in New York because seeing that finding affordable and balanced food is not easy ...
Besides, the hotel is rather expensive in terms of consumption. The bar, snack bar and company.
Really the only problem that we had (and which is not the fault of the hotel but of American laws) is that we could not go on the roof top with our two teenagers. We regretted that a bit, but given that the bars are not accessible until the age of 21, and that they really pay attention to it, the little evening aperitif is a failure.
On the day of departure, we were able to leave our luggage at reception, very convenient.
The hotel works with a small pizzeria just downstairs, frankly not that great. If in the evening you are looking to eat very close to the hotel, don't hesitate to try the Shake shak on the corner of the street. It's McDonald's much better ...
The Moxy hotel for us we will go back tomorrow if we can !!!!
So good stay.

A well placed hotel, just steps from Time Square, close to metro lines and train station. Industrial type decoration very nice, which attracted us. The rooms are small and lack storage, the kingsize bed just the width of the room that was to be 2,20m, as well as two suitcases in the little clearance there is more room to move. The most is the rooftop of the Hotel transformed into nightclub at night. The service is quality, small flat on the breakfast included, very little choice ... nothing to do with the classic buffet so for the price as much to go a few meters in the many Starbucks or others found on each corner of street.

I m not personally a fan of the marriott s branding of this brand, but I decided to give the Times Square one a chance after having an ok experience at the FiDi one. Turned out to be a mistake.
Pros: Location. If you want to be in midtown, this place is great
Cons:
- Check in process. Was really chaotic in the lobby with multiple check in stations and not a single line, we watched multiple people who had come after us be ushered to check in.
- Service: wanted to use the chromecast in the room, was told that these do not actually work and they don t have anything that works. Asked if they had an HDMI cable and they said that they would call us back, nothing. Called again and got the same response - eventually we gave up.
- Noise: Absolutely zero soundproofing, whether outside or corridors.
- Room: incredibly small, it was barely wide enough to fit a double bed (it took up the entire room).
- Also the bed sheets were in terrible condition and was pilling everywhere (refer to picture), lipstick stain on towel (refer to picture)
- The shower door doesn t fit completely so there are gaps that water spills out into the bathroom no matter how carefully you shower. This is a big deal since the shower is so small; you cannot avoid the huge puddle outside of the shower
- amenities : barebones, just a soap, shampoo and bodywash. Asked for slippers and was told that they do not have them. No lotion or make up remover although many marriotts do stock them
- also had the do not disturb light on, but at 10am housekeeping knocked at my door and brusquely asked when I was checking out
- All in all, basically really disappointed in the marriott as a loyal rewards member; I don t think the above can be categorized as the moxy brand just not being my cup of tea

Loved the location of the hotel. Close enough to popular tourist locations and multiple train stops. The room was smaller than usual hotel rooms but great amenities and we enjoyed the restaurants and bars. Good ambience but relatively loud outdoors, but that's the city. I would definitely go back.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visting the Manhattan area! The hotel was about a 5-6 min walk from Penn Station.

We stayed here because I was running the NYC marathon, and I will say the hotel was the most accommodating I ve ever seen. We checked in about 4 hours early and were granted an EXTREMELY late check out for a very fair fee.

The front desk staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful. We had an adorable double room that was smartly designed. All you need for a quick stay.

Thanks again MOXY we will be back!

Keep a tap on your tab. Last week I was charged for $253 in advance for the Express entry, however 9n top of it, I was charged for another $70 which was because may he the bartender thought TV tha TV I am too drunk and she charged my card.

Fantastic from check in to check out. Super comfortable bed n room control made it easy to get the room temp just right. Bathroom plenty big. Room decor utilized the space perfectly. The welcome drink at the bar was an added bonus.

Equidistant between MSG and Times Square, this hotel is located perfectly. The cozy room reminded me of the cabin of a cruise ship but quite comfortable. No pool but mini golf on the roof? Yes please. What really sets this place apart though is the Moxy s outstanding staff, especially concierge Crystal, whose expertise was key.

Everything was boarded up for my stay and I couldn't even tell if it was open or not until I noticed a couple of people entering through a small door on the side. It was pretty clean in the room though small parts of the sheets were torn. When I was thirsty and inquired about water, they told me there was a vending machine in the lobby, which actually had no water what so ever. The vending machine still ended up charging me for what I didn't receive, 6 times. At the end, the front desk did refund me. It's more of a stay for people looking to party in the city so it seems. Not bad, but they can do better. Rooms are pretty small, so keep that in mind

Wow! Just Wow! We are truly amazed! We have never experienced a better hotel. The staff is Young, charismatic, and Helpful at every turn. You can always find help when you need it! Their bar/restaurant staff is out of this world courteous and makes you feel comfortable and pleased. Everything we wanted for our first trip to NYC. We will come back here Every time. You can't beat it for this price!

Thank you MOXY staff for an Amazing experience!

Was not a place I enjoyed to stay at. Our room was on 14th floor,so really close to roof top bar from which you can hear loud music all night long. Because of that we were tired during the day and couldn't explore alk the best places in NYC.
Room was small but cozy, with extra chairs and table, although some big cleaning would be great. Behind the bed there were still dusts from construction, the same next to it. Even in the last morning we had bunch of towels left in front of our door, which definitely was.not a good start for a day!
Welcome drinks were not tasty,so a lot of them were left behind, the same as tokens for these drinks.
In case you are coming to NYC for late parties and not exploring than this is a good place I believe.
Definitely will not stay at Moxy again, neither recommended to friends.

Absolutely hated the way the way the staff treated myself as well as my husband. Customer service is just terrible. Staff are extremely attitudinal and makes you feel extremely unwelcome. The bedrooms are extremely small. Its almost like you are sleeping in your bathroom everything is just so cramped. Please find you another hotel. You work too hard for your hard earned money to give it to this hotel only to be treated as if your not wanted there. I would not recommend TO ANYONE.

Great staff and clean rooms. The rooms are let's say... cozy (a polite way to say small).

The great thing about this hotel is that it's walking distance from Bryant Park, Times Square, and all the great restaurants on 42nd.

Fun atmosphere. Both VIP and Lounge (more casual than the VIP club area) areas have accessible bars, but if you're looking for the exclusive factor, the VIP section is where you want to be.

Extremely disappointed with our stay. The double room is just wide enough for the bed. They don't put this one on the website. Nowhere do they state that there are no closet or dressers in any of the rooms, therefore you have nowhere to put your clothes, which is a challenge when staying for several days. On top of this, the music was so loud from the rooftop bar, that even 5 floors down you could hear it. No hot water. Getting towels took 3 attempts. The shower leaked, which spilled out into the bedroom as it was so small. On our last night, they were having the grand opening of the rooftop bar. We were offered to move hotel or a dinner voucher as they were expecting 1,500 invited friends!!! We checked in 5 days previously and nothing was mentioned to us at this time. The staff are too young and inexperienced. When being approached to address issues they were often unable to answer or do anything, so had to get a manager, who wasn't much better.
If you are looking for somewhere for 1 night and basic service / accommodation, then you might be happy with this. Anything beyond that, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Great place and location, staff are amazing, super cute (tiny) rooms but clean and modern, you shouldn't be in there much anyway it's NYC! Bar is great, free coffee for breakfast what more do you need?!

My friend and I arrived here on 10.31.2020 for an overnight stay. We weren t even particular about luxury since we only came to NYC for an event. EVEN SO, the standards here are akin to a hostel and this hotel chain has no business being mentioned in the same sentence as MARRIOTT (unless their standards have dropped across the board). The double room we booked was so tiny it was pretty much a matchbox with room for only one of us to walk through at a time. I have never bumped into someone so much in my life. The TV did not function. The towels had a yellow tinge to them and even when we requested new ones, no one brought any. The view is through a dingy porthole-sized window that hasn t been cleaned or power washed since the building was established. There was no desk, chair or any surface to rest things on. For the price, you can find much better in NYC - never again!

All I wanted to do is sleep! Simple right! Well in this hotel the last thing ur going to be able to do is that! I was on the tenth floor and the music was as loud as if i was on the roof top! Never staying here again and definitely wont be recommending it to anyone that wants to be able to rest at night!

Convenient location though the Penn station neighborhood is not the most "scenic". Rooms are small but we'll thought out, clean, and stylish. Gets a little bit noisy if you are sensitive to that.... But it's midtown.

Great for an over night stay. The prices were surprisingly low for the quality of the hotel. Did not like staying on the 17th floor with their night club directly above us. It's open til 4 AM but they do provide ear plugs. I really dislike the location but that's just me.

Great location. Stylish lobby and attentive staff.

Rating based on a double room.
The room is small and compact yet functional, love the furnitures that hung on the wall. Bed is small for two person, though.
Rain shower is really comfy!

Room was also not 10/10 cleaned - pee stains on toilet bowl, shirt of previous guest left in drawer. Would not recommend if you re looking for a peaceful environment - gets rowdy cause for supper club restaurants in same building.

Solid hotel that works for me, but wouldn't be great for others (like some of my older business colleagues). The rooms are small and my sink didn't drain very well. I liked the hip and humor to this place, but it also felt like the hotel has to be hip to hide the small spaces and lack of amenities. The gym is OK, service is great, there a sound box for my music, and the location is great. Also request a room that isn't on the 3rd or second highest floor cuz you can hear the DJ form the Moxy bar all night.

Shots are $16. Bartender didn't disclose price until after purchase. Never spent $32 for two shots and won't ever again. Two lemon drop Tito's vodka shots cost more than a bottle of top shelf vodka. Female bartender was very rude and dismissive when questioning the overpriced shots. Do not drink at this rooftop bar unless you have massive amounts of money and sign bar tabs without looking at the price.
