Halloweekend. I am standing talking to my BF. I almost knocked over, i turn to say watch it! The girl screams "i work here i will get u kicked out". I said do what u gotta do but u better watch where u are walking!

10 mins later a male bartender comes over & says (to my bf) "bro that is not right u dont push a girl" ????? Im like wow ur ugly bartender stooped that low? Women have been assaulted, disrespected, raped etc by men. She is the problem why women are not believed and why women do not come forward. DISGUSTING RACIST! How can u pretend a man assaulted you when so many women get ignored. Why didnt u call the cops if this happened? You are a disgrace

Rooms are small but make decent space of the room. Entire wall full of racks instead of a closet. A barn door and open shower in the bathroom. Foldable furniture and an awkward bean bag chair to save space. Trendy rooftop bar. Close go Time Square. A bit spendy for what you get but you are paying for location here.

I was in April / 2019 with the family. Great location and very helpful staff. Bathroom with very nice diving !!! Can someone tell me the brand of shampoo / soap, very good, we get out of the bath with completely hydrated skin !!!

If all you're looking for is an instagram picture then save your money and just go to the rooftop bar.
I stayed here for a business trip from May 10 -11th and was severely disappointed, degraded and will absolutely not be back.
-Upon arrival, the staff were huddled in the corner and made no attempt to acknowledge myself or other guests. Since this was my first time, I assumed it was a self check-in situation and attempted to check into one of the computers at which point one of the staff members rushed over to ask me to stop.
-After checking in, I joined the 10 other people standing around waiting for the elevator. Evidentally the elevator works on some kind of a democratic voting system wherein you scan your card, select your floor and then the elevator goes to the floor that has been selected the most. There are FOUR elevators, but given that this was a Thursday night the lobby was apparently not selected enough for the elevator to make its way down... I will also note that there are NO buttons inside the elevator, so once you're in you are at the mercy of the elevator and have to hope it will stop at your floor. Eventually I managed to flag down a memeber of the wait staff who guided me back through a room to a service elevator so I could go to my room. I don't know how long it would have taken otherwise, but I had been waiting for approx. 10 minutes. While in the service elevator I asked the gentleman where the stairs were, shoud I need them, and he admitted that he didn't know.
-Since there is NO room service, I eventually had to leave my room to get food. When I returned the lobby seemed almost empty, so I took that to mean that the elevators must be working (wrong). I waited 20 minutes in the lobby before asking a member of the staff in the lobby again where the stairs were. He did not know where the higher level stair were, but showed me to the stairs for the second floor and suggested that I go up there to take the elevator... the second floor is a restaurant and I was basically in pajamas but I walked up there and waited. After about 5 minutes the elevator came down and I got in.....BUT - again- you are at the mercy of the elevator once inside... I was brought up to the 18th floor, where the rooftop bar is and NOT the floor I had selected. The 'bouncer' at the front harrassed me and asked why I was up there and that they had a dress code. I told him I was clearly not trying to go to the bar and that the elevator just happened to stop there. He asked why I had gotten out then and I tried to explain that I didn't want to be stuck in the lobby again. HE CALLED A MEMBER OF SECURITY to stand by me for another 10 minutes and wait for the elevator while openly complaining that I had 'come up there for no reason' to the security staff and patrons waiting in line. It was humilating and degrading.
- Despite showing the security staff my room key, he still insisted on taking me to the lobby to confirm that I had a room there so the elevator nightmare continued. I was paraded to one of the little desks and was verfied again. I asked to use the service elevator but was told that only staff could use that elevator. I will admit that I this point I was very impolite and I appologize but I was beyond fed up. I shouted at the guy at the check-in kiosk and demanded to be shown the stairs. Frankly, the fact that they are not clearly labled should be some sort of a violation. They eventually relented and showed me to the unmarked double doors on the second floor where the stairs are and I had to walk up 15 flights of stairs to be able to go to my room and eat my cold food.

TLDR; 1. The elevator system is a nightmare, you should demand to either use the service elevator or go to the second floor down the hallway by the elevators to the double doors and use the stairs, 2. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and will completely disregard you, 3. JUST STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I just went in to use one of the amenities and it was broken - I had asked about it at the front desk and mo one let me know. Also the elevator system was so confusing that we eventually gave up and took the stairs

Overall a very nice hotel, the atmosphere is very hip and chic however we did have an issue with the rooftop bar. When we walked in it was not that crowded, we were a little early but 3 people at the host desk and not one of them greeted us. After waiting for them to finish their conversation I asked if we could get a table or if there were seats at the bar. I was told by one of the hostess' that the bar on the right was crowded but the left side had plenty of room. So we went to the left side only to find a handful of people there but every table had a reserved sign on it so we did not sit there when I went to ask the women if we could sit at one of those tables since they were all empty she completely ignored us. They had at least 10 bouncers standing around none could answer or help so we left and went to the other bar. Which had a great DJ but again the servers seemed slow and a bit confused, took them forever to get us drinks then they never checked on us again.... So step up your service and this would be an awesome place!!!

Great location with the quality experience that comes with Marriott. Rooms are very small and cozy and probably ok for a single but if I was travelling with someone would probably find it entirely too small. The table that is hung on the wall is intended to be your desk but it s the most unsteady and easily collapsible / finger squishing contraption that needs 2 people to set up.

Excellent hotel within walking distance of Time Square. Clean, modern and with excellent services. Friendly and competent staff. Considerable price considering the period of the stay (the week of Christmas).

This hotel is clean and friendly. The room we stayed in was extremely small but had everything you needed. The shower room was very big. Many different styles of people visited and stayed here giving the place a very live atmosphere. On entry to the hotel you wonder what is going on with people/staff playing jengu and basketball in the foyer. However everyone is very helpfull. It is a good base to be in for visiting N. Y.

Was in NY overnight for a work trip and we booked this location because it was close to our agency, and a Marriott property. Bad idea! My room was on the third floor, just above the lounge area, and I could hear every voice in the bar up until it closed at midnight. It was like there was a vent directly from the bar to my room. Right around that time I had to venture out to find a 24 hour Pharmacy for Benadryl. Something in the room made my allergies very bothersome, which does not happen often. 2 of my colleagues also had trouble sleeping due to allergy irritations... Really made me trust the cleanliness of the place. I tried moving rooms twice, once before dinner when they told me the ONLY room left was on the 6th floor, and again after dinner around 10 when they told me the ONLY room left was on the 17th floor right under the rooftop bar... Not sure how that happened in a short 3 hours, but it did. I'm all for cool, trendy hotels with neat amenities, but this was a bit over the top for me. They should focus more on customer service and less on how to promote the onsite tattoo artist and barber.

I understand this is a rooftop but ugh $10 for French fries? This place has caprisun drinks like Claw daddy's which is fun so I'd recommend getting those. Service at the outside bar was okay. My friends and I were sitting on one of the outside chair which have the best views. On a busy day you'll probably have to wait in line downstairs for the elevator. Great decor.

Definitely won t get our business again. We reserved a one night stay. We were told we could have an early check in of 2pm. We arrived at 3:30 for our room not to be ready and we were told to come back in at 4. Returned at 4, to yet again, a room that was not ready. They took my phone number to call me when our room was ready. Never received a call...checked at 6pm to finally put us into a room. Not only did we not receive the free drink token, or free round of drinks for the inconvenience, our card was charged $260 when I have receipts stating our bill was $181. I called the Moxy and they went out how it s $20 a night to stay... i stayed one night...sounds like the main desk does not know what there rates are. The lady i spoke with said we will be reimbursed in 7-10 business days. Such an inconvenience, ruined out timed out to explore, had to lug around bags, very unprofessional.

Love the concept of smaller and modern rooms... Internet was great and the location was pretty good too

But ultimately it fell short, given the price. Service wasn't great, fire alarm went off at 4am, could hear the night club till 3am (though they do provide complimentary ear plugs on the night stand), hot water handles backwards in the shower, and the air conditioning wouldn't turn off (it was 3 degrees outside!). Didn't seem to get the sense anyone cared.

Cracking chic hotel. 5 mins walk to times square. Rooms are small (and i mean small) but hey.. you only sleep in a room!
Bar area and lounge is a nice area to hangout alongside the rooftop bar.
3 min walk to penn rail station and you will be at JFK airport in 35mins. (On the LIRR)

And where else can you play jenga in the reception area!!! Or connect 4 with the staff..

If you want a quiet sopshicated hotel. Go elsewhere.
If you want odd.. chic. Different modern. Good value. Great loacation. Lovely staff.
Then come here. You wont be dissapointed

A+

The rooms next to time square are ridiculous loud. If the air conditioner starts working it feels like an airplane starts. Room change only after 20 minutes decision with very impolite employees (Michael) available. As an excuse I got two 10$ chips for the bar/restaurant. We asked at the bar if we can use it in the restaurant as well - answer was yes. Getting the bill in the restaurant they told us that we cannot use the discount in the restaurant...after discussions with the manager they reduced the bill by 20$...but charged our credit cards with the full bill - this is fraud!

I will never come back to these hotel and can highly NOT recommend to go there! Better choose a hostel around!

EDIT: Thanks for your answer. Please let me know how to reach you to provide more information.

Very chic hotel near Times Square and Madison square garden! Love the trendy rooms and feel of the hotel. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel has a roof top bar and is a great place for hosting events. Will definitely be back with my wife!

I am a Marrtiot rewards member and wanted to try something new. We expected this room to be small and "boutique" however it was even smaller than we expected. We had a king room and I literally had to crawl over my wife to enter/exit the bed.

The room was also VERY loud. The club music from the roof was bad, but even the street noise was almost too much. (Normally I enjoy the sounds of the city), but at times it sounded like the trucks and jackhammers were in your room.

The vibe and the design were great, but it's not cheap enough to offset just going with a more traditional hotel route. We would have stayed in a more typical hotel.

Rewiew for Magic Hour Rooftop Bar - In summertime maybe a nice spot - winter is covered and you do not see so much - paid 400 dollar for a table would not recommend at all (avarage drinks and lot of wannabes there specially girls that get free drinks) - Moxy hotel is fine as always!

Great hotel concept, especially for NYC, and loyal to Rewards members.

Good on location restaurant/bar/club.

Unique and awesome concept of the stash closet- self serve soap, towels, and cups. No need to call down for extra housekeeping.

Best hotel shower I've ever seen in my life ever. Close second is the St. Regis.

Rooms quite small. Just enough to put a full size bed wall to wall, pegs on the wall for closet, a 1 foot wide sink, a shower &toilet. Total real state for $375/note is

Wide range of playful cocktails, though I wish more of them were gin based. The view is pretty decent for a roof top. The carousel seating is a fun touch and makes for great photos. Prices are steep. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely more of a tourist trap than a real New Yorker hangout spot.

Great boutique hotel with small, but comfy rooms. Despite being in the center of town, the hotel is quiet and well priced for what it is. You get a free drink at the bar as a welcome, and you can go up to the rooftop bar/club if you're into that kinda thing (hotel guests get easy access, so no waiting in line).

We had the slightly larger room (queen) at the hotel, and found it was pretty well done. Not sure about the smaller rooms.

Note: The hotel will charge/reserve $20 a night to cover incidentals and damages. This is refunded 3-5 days after the stay ends.

Enjoyable stay in a modern atmosphere. Small rooms well appointed but no desk or chair for business travelers. Nice walk in showers with excellent water pressure. Plenty of outlets. Music level and infused scents could be overwhelming to those with sensorial sensitivities.

I had a great time for the night I stayed there. It is a tiny room, so I m glad I upgraded us to a king size room. But it s very modern and they make space work. Absolutely loved it. My only thing was the prices of the drinks and the quality of them at the rooftop and hotel bar. For the price, I would have hoped they made drinks the way they should have. I was hoping I would have had a new spot to go grab a drink. But I think the only time I ll go there is when I decide to stay at moxy again( which will be soon). Bartenders need more training and the line for breakfast to leagasea was very long and wasn t moving, so I didn t get to experience it but there are more options waking distance.

The hotel was amazing and the drinks are not a deal breaker for me. Definitely worth the money and the staff at check in/ checkout made a great experience overall.

Not my type. The Moxy brand under Marriott is a hipster brand targeted at the millennials. The lighting throughout the facility was dim. The lifts were disturbing as the lighting was low, the walls were dark and music (mind you, not elevator music) played 24/7. If you thinking of selecting this hotel, know what you are in for. For me, I would expect my hotel in NYC to be a quiet respite. But no, no, no. This Moxy was not such a place. Good luck to you.

I stayed in a double room at the moxy for 6 days.

I stayed in a double room at the moxy for 6 days.
Overall would not stay again.
Location :was great but that was the extent of what the moxy has to offer.
The staff : had no idea what they were doing. Over six days I had to ask every day for clean towels or toilet paper as house keeping did not come once. When asked the staff simply said there was only restricted cleaning. The front staff had no idea where toilet paper or towels were kept when the "store" on each level were out. They had to call an external house keeper out in the middle of the night on the 4th day of no toilet paper to find it for them.
The room : tiny. No storage space. I had travelled internationally and couldn't fit my suitcase in the room so it had to be completely unpacked and stored at the end of the bed. Also never had house keeping so my sheets and towels were never changed and I had to empty my own rubbish every day.. As it took so long to get toilet paper I had to buy my own for the room
The hotel: the club is directly on top of the hotel and the sound radiates down the hollow column of the hotel into all the rooms. Every night the club blares music until 12 and 4 on Friday and Saturday nights. Despite the provided ear plugs the music is so loud and clear it is impossible to sleep.
Overall this hotel is trying way too hard to be cool and completely misses the mark of being practical. Stay here if you like sleeping in a coffin size room with no amenities and never sleeping .

The 2 star is for the shoebox room you get. It s a king and barely enough room for two people to get dressed. There is no real bathroom other than the toilet and shower contained in the same capsule. Toy sink ( something from Ikea) is in main area of room. No closet at all, no drawers. The room is maybe 180sf. Then add the toilet/shower. It s clean and I can open door with my phone, that s it. Oh and AC not working. Europe tourist may be ok with size but it s a toy closet. Never coming back.

Great hotel! The people are friendly, the gym is good, beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean. The prices are high for the food and drinks, but not much higher than most hotels. They have events (such as game night on Tuesday nights) which make this place stand out above other.

Good location, close enough to metro stops. Quiet room, spacious and comfortable bed even if the furniture is too essential and the fridge is missing. The bar on the first floor is very nice and there is a convenient luggage storage in the basement. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was not redone

My friend who is a Marriott employee in Boston (The moxy is a Marriott new hotel ) Booked 2 rooms for us , weeks before our stay . When we arrived we were told our rooms weren t ready yet , to bring our luggage downstairs to storage and we were given tokens for a drink while we wait til check in . We went to the bar had drinks came down at 3 , the rooms still weren t ready . They told us to come back in 30 min, we walked around Manhattan , and returned in a hour . They told us another 30 min , until 3 hours had passed and only one room was ready . We waited an additional hour or 2 for our second room . After a 5 hr bus ride to NYC and waiting 3-5 hours for our rooms . The moxy made it impossible for us to relax , shower , get dressed and explore the city . By the time we got our rooms we were tired , and had to rush to get ready for our plans ... The whole situation was exhausting ... We even had to nag them for a late check out , considering we were checked in hours late because of their lack of empathy , and unprofessional customer service they still gave us a hard time with a late check out . Worst hotel service I have ever received . Wouldn t recomend this service to my worst enemy.

This place is a joke... please understand, I am a former Marriott employee, a long time Platinum member and I have stayed at every brand in the Marriott system prior to the merger. I am not some rookie traveler. And my travel partner is a long time business traveler with over half a million points on Marriott alone.

This place misses it on so many levels.

1. The rooms are smaller than small. The beds are comfortable, the shower is nice, but the rooms are smaller than most full sized SUV's. I couldn't work in the room and the restaurant was too loud with music blaring to handle calls.

2. The gift of two prosseco drinks was nice... until we went to get them and the drinks were flat and skunked... Tasted like bad left over beer from a fraternity party.

3. Roof top bar??? Don't bother.. Talked to a number of guests who all felt it was over done and over hyped... We all kind of looked at each other like.. 'What's the big deal on this thing?' You can't see the city, the staff is full of it's self... (Yeah I know it's NY)

4. Bottom line.. instead of putting in cool signage, jenga in the lobby, I think they should have focused on the nuts and bolts of a hotel experience.. The rooms, the workability.

For the first time Marriott has missed the mark on this hotel. I guess if you are looking for a party... sure... maybe... if you are in NYC to get work done... stay away... Or go stay at a real Marriott...

This is a real funky hotel. As with most NY hotels the rooms are small even a King is diddy but perfectly functional for short stays. Staff were always helpful. My only disappointment was the Crazy Golf course was only 2 holes. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would have no hesitation in coming back or recommending you to stay here.
You're close to Times Square and other attractions. There's an Andrews Coffee shop which is ideal for breakfast 100yds from the hotel. The in-house restaurant is not cheap but the food is very good. Overall this hotel should be on your list of places to stay in NYC.

Best experience the staff was so friendly, Especially Ashley she was a sweetheart recommended so many things to do! She asked us what s the occasion it was my boyfriends birhrday by the time we went out and came back our room was decorated for him! She went above and beyond! I recommend the Moxy to everyone!

Great bed in a small but stylish room and a generally fun hotel. Really enjoyed it here, the bar was cool and the free cocktail is a nice touch, a little street noise in the early evening but that's to be expected near Times Square, no probs sleeping later

Noise, noise, noise. Nice staff, nice rooms, nice gym but so much noise. Don't go here if you're on business and need a good night sleep or a quiet place to work. If you're young and in the city to party, this is the place for you.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Check in was pretty awful. The concept of the elevators was pretty silly especially when the entire third floor was waiting for an elevator that never showed up. The room had terrible lighting for my wife to do her makeup. The towels in our room were stained so I had to ask for new ones right away (they came very quickly so that was a positive!). Also our room smelt like food the entire time and was so loud being on the 3rd floor. We heard and smelt the bar all night. However, I personally loved the location and layout of the room. The shower was probably one of the best I have used in recent memories. The food and drinks at the hotel were great and the staff was overall pretty friendly! The gym was ok. Overall I would say this hotel falls in the 3.6-3.85 range in terms of Google ratings. I cannot confidently recommend this hotel, but I do think it was a pretty nice experience. I would personally never stay here again. There are better hotels that are more comfy that has more to offer.

The hotel is beautifully designed, in a great location and the rooms are decently sized for a hotel in the city. However the noise level is outrageous, magic hour the rooftop bar is so loud you cant get any sleep until they close, and the do not disturb sign means absolutely nothing to the housekeeping crew who continuously tapped on the door multiple times throughout the morning while we had finally fallen asleep! And I mean every morning not once not twice but MULTIPLE times even after we told them we did not require their service! So no sleep at night time due to club music blasting and no sleep during the morning time due to housekeeping who obviously don t understand what DO NOT DISTURB means.... which led to us being exhausted and cranky for parts of our holiday vacation!

A very funky, upbeat atmosphere, a great bar downstairs and a fabulous rooftop bar with a great view of the Empire State Building. The rooms are unusually furnished but nice, if a little small. The shower was great.
