Food was excellent, they had my favorite whiskey, and I sat at a rocking chair by the fire to finish my drink.

Got to Moonshine Grill late on a Tuesday night, and was surprised to see how busy it was - that is until I tried the delicious food.

We got there about 30mins before it shut and a table for two was still a 30 minute wait, fortunately we were able to find a seat at the bar.

The bartender was a friendly fella from Montana and told us that the Jalapeno Hanger Steak was one of the staff favourites. I ended up splitting the steak with a mate (it's not huge though) and we split the Southern Grit Cake with crawfish. We just split the food because we'd already eaten on Rainey St, but a few other people at the bar said the food was so good we had to try it - it was.

We got a hot tip from our Montana barman and paid a few dollars extra for the kitchen to split our steak for us, meaning we each got to choose a side and they came out plated separately.

I ordered the steak rare and it was delish, as was the southern grit cake.

Fun menu!! I recommend the buffalo meat loaf. If you are having company over I would bring them here.

This is such a wonderful place. I make sure to come here when I'm in Austin, and I've never been disappointed. I've tried most of the menu, and it has all tasted great. The food is delicious, service is fast and friendly, and everything is very clean. I particularly like their abundance of patio seating.

Great brunch spread. I also went there with friends for dinner and everyone enjoyed their dinner and cocktails. I recommend the tender belly sandwich.

Wow. Everything from the drinks to the food to the service was great.

The only downside to the brunch is the 10 lbs you immediately put on every time you go.

I reserved the Sunday House for a work holiday party, and it was an excellent spot for our 14 people! The valet was very helpful and pointed us in the right direction of the Sunday House, and we were greeted promptly by our server, Ashley. We tried the corn dog shrimp, spinach and bacon dip, pretzel & pimento and calamari appetizers. The corn dog shrimp and pimento were definitely our favorites. They also had a gluten free menu. We tried a variety of entrees and shared several desserts. The peanut butter mousse pie was very rich and the Oreo crust was amazing! We were all impressed with the food and service, and have no complaints there. The room was cozy and comfortable for having conversations and a quick gift exchange. There was also a fenced off patio next to the Sunday House, which would be perfect for mingling at happy hour. We will definitely consider Moonshine for our next company dinner because they made it easy to accommodate a large group. Thank you!

Comfort food at its best. This food laid me out! Be sure to try the shrimp and grits!

Get the Wagu meatloaf, you will not be sorry. Ate at the bar with my wife who is allergic to bell peppers. The bartender went way out of his way to make certain there were none in the dishes she was thinking of getting. Outstanding service!

My wife would give this restaurant Five Stars. She really likes it. I find that all their plates are just a little off in taste. They're is little bit of a twist on taste that I don't like. But it may be more to your style of eating.

Excellent Sunday brunch with lots of comfort food. Beautiful historic building. Good for lunch or dinner with a group too, if you can stand a wait for a table. Multiple bars and waiting areas help.

The food is outstanding! The baby back ribs were so good, order one and share. Mac and cheese was interesting, in a good way. I also loved the sweet potato fries and dip... Did I mention the corn bread, so good, spicy but good. Definitely recommend coming here! The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars-the bartenders, no customer service skills. They are really busy but I stood and Waited for a drink for 15 minutes, they just ignored me. And I know they saw me, because there was only 4 other people at the bar-Who received drinks before me. But the waitress at our table, Carloline, was great- she made it up.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Quite possibly the best food I have ever had in my life! Tried some new things (which is scary for me!) and they were AMAZING! Great service! Great food! Great city! Not sure what else I can say to emphasize how great this place is. A must if you are in Austin!

The food here was AMAZING!!!! - I was at the #HeroConf event speaking and the Hilton hotel across the street highly recommended them. I was so glad I stopped in before my flight. The almond crusted catfish was to die for. The rosemary sweet potatoes were the best I have ever had. This will definitely be my go to when visiting Austin. Also I had a personal incident take place and the manager Jordan went above and beyond to make sure that everything was ok. It had nothing to do with the restaurant yet she took it upon herself to help me. This place is customer service at it's finest and with food to back it up. AMAZING!!

Staff is super nice and knowledgeable about menu. The drink i got was strong, but good. The food is really worth the money. I plan on making it back here as soon as I can!

Excellent! I visit here every time I come to Austin. They serve amazing Southern, comfort foods. We've had chicken fried steak, shrimp & grits, macaroni and cheese, chicken and waffles, shrimp corn dogs and a few other items. The food is always good. The service here is also good.

Food and drinks are awesome. Would be nice if they took reservations since this place is always so packed.

Besk whiskey selection in town. Ask for the black book. Food specials are always great. Happy hour apps are great and at a good price.

Lemon Butter Chicken & Waffle
The waffle was soft and the chicken was moist. It's a pity that the chicken batter is a bit salty.

Food is absolutely delicious a little bit pricy tho depending on what you order but the beer is really cheap and apparently really good aswell

They have some awesome mac & cheese. They also bring out popcorn how can you go wrong?

This was my first time in Uchi but I went with my daughter, who knew what to order, etc. I had some machi cure, yellow tail and onions, crunchy salmon, the seasonal fish (it was bass), brussel sprouts, roasted beets and a small batch (6) of yasai maki (vegetarian rolls). Also had some white wine.... Overall, everything was excellent and...

Great first stop in Austin for lunch. Good bloody marys and moonshine, and our lunch was great. We sent a few friends there after we went.

Our waitress, Stevie, rocked the house! The food was amazing especially the chicken almondine. My friend had the chicken and waffles and that was pretty darn tasty. Awesome atmosphere and great service. I highly recommend going here.

Loved this place. I chose to sit in the patio as it was a much shorter wait. The waiter was excellent and he even exchanged my food for me when the first one wasn't to my taste. I chose the jalapeno hanger steak instead on his recommendation and it was delicious. I'll definitely be back.

I love Moonshine!! I've eaten here several times and have not been disappointed..PLEASE keep that going! The backyard chicken sandwich, cornflake chicken salad,queso with chips, and banana pudding are just a few of the items we have tried. I asked really nice tonight about bringing bread pudding to the Avery Ranch location. The NICE LADY who brought us our food to curbside said she handles the desserts didn't commit to it but I hope my pleading planted the seed. Please and thank you! Stay good MS Grill!

Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill is my favorite restaurant in Texas. If you haven't been there yet, go as soon as you can. Best food, best drinks, best staff, best atmosphere. Best all around!

This is the first place we go to eat when we get to Austin. We have never had a dish we did not love. We went twice on our last visit to Austin, and it was a three day weekend.

Came here for brunch on the recommendation of our concierge. Amazing food (I had their version of eggs benedict with smoked salmon) and free refills on cold brew coffee. They offer outdoor seating and we were served very quickly. 5/5

Had the Skirt steak. Cooked perfectly med/rare and was excellent. Best service we'd had all week in Austin. The crispy calamari was a great appetizer as well.

Came here for a quick lunch off of locals recommendation. It did not disappoint! Everything was very fresh and delicious. It was so good we came back for brunch the next day, and that was even better!!! Shout out to Christina!!! She was the absolute best waitress!

Everything is amazing here except the moonshine. The moonshine is a little underwhelming and I thought it tasted more like flavored water. But the food more than makes up for this, everything we ordered here was awesome.

Here visiting from Chicago. The banana pudding, pork chops, and fried green tomatoes are the stuff of dreams. Up there with blackbird in Chicago. Amazing

It was bad. The queso was bland and the chips tasted stale. The chicken fried steak was burnt and dry. Everything had an over powering garlic flavor. The only redeeming aspect was the front house staff, very respectful and responsive.

I hosted a lunch banquet here on the patio that was phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond on setting up everything so beautifully and I didn t even have to ask! Everyone was very complimentary of the food!

Long wait average food. did not particularly enjoy corndog shrimp appetizer. Chicken Fried steak very crispy with flavorful spicy cream gravy making it above average but overbattetered with little meat flavor

The food was great. I had the pork chop with some sort of peach glaze and the garlic mashed potatoes. It was really good. I was there with a group of 10. We nearly all had something different and everybody was pretty impressed with their meal. And the service was great.

Fast service, heated patio. Food is meant to be spicy and homestyle cooking. We ordered steak and eggs special. Delicious!

I came on 22 March 2019 at 12.30pm around lunch time. The whole place is already occupied. The service crew told me that the waiting time is around 45 minutes! Luckily, there is still a seat by the bar table. I ordered a peach flavoured pork chop, as recommended by the waitress. It tastes good! The meat is chewy, and the sauce is a good match to the pork chop! The food arrives in less than 10 minutes. The only disappointment is that the waitress isn't as friendly.

Very limited vegetarians options but their food quality and portion sizing are very good. A good place to hangout with friends over a extended lunch hour

Excellent cuisine. I had the pork chop special which was spectacular! The service was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the warm and cozy atmosphere.

Great service and great food. No draft beer because it s in a historical building. So they get a pass! Lol

Jalapeno flank steak and the pan fried chicken are off the hook good! The peanut butter pie is great, but the serving size should be super small.. it is just too rich for the 1/4 pie cut.

A neat veranda space and decent food, but there were some incredibly unhelpful and rude staff that really made the start of the evening sour. I'll probably pass on going back but it is worth trying and getting your own experience.

Sunday brunch buffet is the best. Mimosa carafe is a must. Always leave way too stuffed, but very satisfied. Worth the wait,

One of my FAVORITE places in austin! first, the place has a great atmosphere and is in a relaxed setting. Amazing food but not a stuffy place. I have been here on a date and with a large group and it was GREAT for both occassions! Fantastic drinks and wonderful food make this an easy choice for dinner!

Great service and great location. I sat at the bar and Amber the bartender was very polite and courteous. The chicken fried steak is delicious however the chipotle cream sauce was a bit overwhelming and took away from the flavor of the steak. Would definitely come back, great atmosphere.

Loved this place. Had the chicken fried steak (which was bigger than my head) and paired it with green chili and cheddar grits which were fantastic. Cocktails were fantastic also
