Great selection of fabrics accompanied with excellent service

What an amazing fabric store. Literally the mecca of fabric stores. They have EVERYTHING!

Extremely rude and unhelpful staff. It feels very sassy and cocky environment as perhaps the store became popular due to Runway project... Very bad selection on jersey knits: too light, limp and low quality fabrics for almost $20 per yard... It seems that the store management make a little to none effort to update the inventory! Totally last minute emergency store to go...

It was amazing! The staff was super helpful and honest about what was the best fabric to use. My daughter had a very good time. I'm so gald we went there!

It was very hard to find (we didn't know that it wouldn't be on street level), but the adventure was well worth it. As tourists in NYC, one of the top items on our list was to meet swatch the dog!

It's overwhelming looking but the amount of materials they have is endless!

Great store, bought a sheepskin and made a weird hat. Staff can be kinda rude and spends more time chatting w each other though

Mood fabrics has a GREAT selection of fabrics but there service sucks! I always come in here and get someone rude or people are playing around or can t find help.

Mood Fabrics website and Mood Fabrics store have absolutely different range of fabrics.The ground floor showcases fabric for the Home whereas the other floor is dedicated to fashion. People friendly and helpful. Excellent advice from the salesperson helped me make a perfect selection of fabrics suited to my design.

That have a ton of fabrics, you ll be sure to find what you need. I was able to restore my apartment furniture with their fabrics.

Loved this place! Looks a little different than on Project Runway, but very cool. Missed Swatch though (the dog), was disappointed about that.

Went to their Loft store to buy some fabric I could use as an aerial silk. They guy working was super nice and helpful. Also it was soooo cheap! They sold it $3/lb. It would've cost me way more somewhere else. The only downside is parking in the area.

Love it, I could get lost in there. The variety of unique and awesome merchandise. Oh, didn't get to see Swatch.

What an experience! I felt as if I was in fabric heaven so many selections to choose from. I could get lost in this shop. I learned that they have a fabric swatch program to keep buyers up to date with current fabric options.

I used to go mood and purchase fabrics. most of staff is nice but the female manager looks always angry. Also, there are many fabric flaw.
They sell the flawed fabric very expensive.

I am consistently surprised by their massive selection! The employees are very helpful and friendly as well.

Giant fabric store in Midtown in NY city. Lots of variety and good price. But the person has to understand what he wants. The sellers are not pajando anyone and the fabrics do not have the same names as they have in Portuguese ... like ... one part is silk with a thousand variations and another part is synthetic and polyester with a thousand more variations. I was lost! But the store is super. I recommend.

Fabric heaven on three floors. It s not cheap but you will find the fabric of your dreams and everything you need to create a unique piece. They also offer sewing classes

It s not as big as crazy as it looks on tv. They have helpful staff and employ disabled people. They also have a lazy bull dog who roams the store. If you can t find something you need you can ask anyone and they will direct you on where to go. They stock a variety of different fabrics. I just wish they had a larger faux fur and leather section. They also teach sewing classes in the basement!

I used their website. Wrongly charged me and will not properly refund my money. I have been trying since end of May to get a simple $20 refund owed to me

I will say for designer's this place is like heaven...because of its lots of choices on fabrics.

I have been shopping at mood religiously for the past 3 years, and have the privilege of feeling like family here. They have the highest quality fabrics due to their unique stock of actual designer textiles. I am a full-time designer who specializes in women's made to measure, which means I am constantly shopping for statement and everyday textile, and they have a huge array of both. Don't be intimidated by their huge reputation, they treat their customers like friends. I can always depend on their staff to help me with advice as well as a second opinion on visual direction and whats current. Several established and well known designers and celebrities shop here due to their stock, I shop here for the genuine people, competitive pricing and amazing resources.

People to know, Upstairs on the 4th floor (wool/knit) you have to chat with Eric Perryman regarding silhouette, Quay and Todd on whats next and new and just give Finnete a hug...shes the sweetest.

Third floor: Kyndrell is no longer there, but I love Anita's bubbly personality. Ben is very helpful and Julio makes my day!

Sharon is in management, so if something goes wrong (never) she's the go-to. She is very assertive and always gets to the root of any issue quickly and professionally. Luv her!!

Second floor, not down often enough but in leather; Dimitri, he is a leather God. lol

So much to take in! So many different colors and types!

Very large selection of fabrics. Quick and friendly service.

I came here because the girls and ladies insisted on visiting the "Project Runway" hot spot and in the end no one seemed impressed.

Granted they have A LOT of items, but expectations seemed to be higher than reality. The staff was helpful and the costs varied, but if you have a decent fabric store in your city, it could probably be the same (just not as much large inventory as here).

Only really seen it on Project Runway, but they seem great.

Staff is always helpful and I love all the sewing classes and workshops. Mood is my favorite place in all of NYC.

I was so looking forward to coming to mood but it was a little underwhelming. Couldn t find any fabric that i liked. Bought some threads but overall nothing special.

Love this store. Been going to it for several years. Their quality of fabrics never disappoints me and they have so much to choose from! Definitely the best store in the entire Fashion District.

We love Project Runway and always stop at Mood while in NYC. Although we didn't see Tim or Heidi, we did find Swatch!

Took my friends daughter to Mood because she loves watching Project Runway. Had the best time. Wish Swatch (the dog) was there but they say he doesn't "work" on weekends. That just means another visit for us.

Fabric selection is out of this world! Be prepared with a project before you grace the doors because the amount of choices are endless. The racks go from the floor to the ceiling and the isles are small. A designers delight!

Great fabric selection, however lacking in great customer service leaves something to be desired. I was helped on many occasion but more times than not, passed off to another sales associate on a different floor or unmarked aisle. Will definitely go back, but will search for better prices elsewhere.

Price is higher, but you will find what you want and good service, friendly salespersons

The mood store associates are the best! They are very well educated about textiles, and they suggested exactly what I am looking for from endless stock of fabrics. Truly stunned and amazed. :) Fine online division associates as well. Weather you are buying through the store or through their online division, you can rest assured you will get top customer service and expert's opinion. I love Mood. Every time I go there, I stay there for hours and no one bothers me. I play and buy fabrics that I love. Truly nice people.

Beautiful fabrics and sewing accessories. Staff (including the rare pupper) are very friendly. Easy to locate items and find entrances and exits.

This is the best fabric store I have ever been to. I go there for normal stuff. I go there for upholstry stuff. I go there for weird cosplay stuff. Everyone on staff is knowledgable, friendly, and SO helpful! I have never had an issue finding what I want, and I even get some good tips along the way.

This is heaven heaven heaven for a fabrics and trimmings they have everything you could possibly need to put your garments together great customer service everybody's happy

This store has everything but the service isn t great and it s extremely expensive. I ve encountered staff members who have tried to make me feel cheap for buying lower priced fabric for dresses. Not my go to at all! It s definitely an emergency only option.

Rosa the best... Very helpful... fantaaaaaastic experience

I ordered two sizes of buttons. One set received was smaller than what I ordered (or was advertised). I ordered a set of 23 mm buttons but received 19-20 mm buttons. I expect that they simply mistakenly put 19s in 23 mm packaging. Simple fix, right? After 5 emails back and forth claiming they were fixing it and over a month later all it was, was ultimately a run-around. I believe either they didn t have the buttons or else they are misrepresenting them. After the last promise of they are being sent without fruition I finally gave up and took it as a loss. They never refunded my order nor made it right. Luckily, I sniffed I would have a problem with their service when I had to coerce them into replying even the first time with multiple emails and went immediately with a competitor. If I would have relied on their service my project would have been woefully delayed.

What can I say, it s Mood! Also they have a lot of tiny things like buttons, so you can pick up a little souvenir and get a branded shopping bag.

Professionalism at it's best. From the moment you enter the store you get that brother sister experience it's a family affair. I will recommend anyone to visit Mood Fabrics.

Heard online is bad, so hush up and go inside! Definitely go on a weekday, far too busy on the weekend so of course you'll get iffy customer service. So excited I got to experience this place!!

This sample clothing store has good prices for name brand clothing!

Its an amazing place! I take classes here... its seriously a whole different world here... some people have their attitudes but seriously if fabric and art stuff is all you looking for it's totally worth the trip

Heaven for those who sew. It is tucked on the 3rd floor. Every available space is full of fabric, trims and notions. There is large classroom with a schedule of classes. There are lots of people on every floor to help. Most aisles had at least one person there. They do not have craft, quilts, and decor stuff like other stores. What they DO have is a wide range of fabric... home decoration fabric is on the first floor. With prices ranging from moderate to expensive. They are not trying to be cheapest. But oh what treasures there!

Do you sew? Have a dressmaker? What type or color of fabric do you need? Mood Fabrics has it! Plus great selection of buttons, trim, fur pieces, real or faux. The most helpful staff. I have spent hours here, ogling the amazing selection. And I have never come away empty-handed. Mood also offers sewing classes for all levels of expertise and interest.

I am impressed by the variety of fabrics and everything necessary to realize your dreams.

Super friendly staff. Little hard to find. Recommend the stairs over the questionable elevators.
