Inlove this place the gentlemen on the top level are always great. To bad the cashiers were rude

They have a great variety of products, I found everything I was looking for. The customer service was TERRIBLE. I would not recommend this place, except if you know exactly what you're looking for. They're NOT HELPFUL. I asked 3 sellers and none of them answered my questions (basic questions).

I brought mom to this mecca to complete her flapper costume. Don't make the mistake I first made (having never seen Project Runway) I walked into the ground floor MOON Fabrics down the block.

Been going to Mood for over 10yrs now, things definitely changed over the years...

** More staff need to be upstairs.** Errick needs to be downstairs with other staffs. So much to say but I ll keep it short.

-1st floor staffs 10/10 (easy, fast, friendly).
-Upstairs staffs 0/10 (distracted, slow, make you wait around)
-Cashiers 9/10 (distracted, loud chatting w customers behind you or next to you). Pls let the customers know if they have points or not. Not cool to find out you have points you can use AFTER checking out.

Overall, a fabric store to visit? Yes, ofc. Do I wish the staffs were as friendly AND attentive as years ago? Yes, 100%

Great collection of fabrics but the dude on the 2nd floor did a terrible job tearing instead of cutting fabrics and shorted us on one of them.

Love Mood, staff is very knowledgeable and helpful as well as fun to work with.

Note: Mood Fabrics website and Mood Fabrics store have absolutely different range of fabrics. Staff was attentive and checked stock levels for fabric SKU I was interested in - alll ordered online after.

bad customer service. Went up to a guy for help he let out a serious sigh. then showed me 2 things n told me find which one i can live with.

A guy named joshua was very nice though and hes always nice and helpful when i go to mood. The man that faked helped me later needs to reevaluate his life and job if he doesn't want to help customers .

The customer service is terrible. I received an order of fabric that was woven out of alignment. I had to call several times a week for over a month for customer service to verify that there was a problem with the fabric. Two weeks and several calls later there is still no word on when they will be sending a replacement. Several customer service reps have said they would call me back and never have. Very frustrating experience.

Great selection of upholstery fabrics in the home store.

Mood has without a doubt, an amazing selection of quality fabrics. However, their customer service is extremely poor. I placed on order online over a week ago and nothing has shipped out yet. I have contacted them directly 3 times, twice got no response and the last time received the runaround from a rude associate. Next time, I will consider taking my business elsewhere.

UPDATE: I received an email from Customer Service. They confirm the refund. I contacted my bank and I was able to get it straightened out. I've changed my rating to fair because I think they should keep better track of their inventory and fix their website.

I am writing to express how disappointed I am with Mood Fabrics. First, I could not set up an account online, so I made my order as a guest. Second, I had to have Andrew from the customer service team set up my account but he forgot to add my points from my order, so when I called to ask about the points I spoke with Brittany and I was told that they could not be added to my account and that Mood didn't have the full yardage that I ordered. I authorized the change in yardage. My curtain pleats are getting smaller with each phone call. I emailed Andrew about the points because he said they could be added to my order and he replied he'd work on having them added. (Andrew added the points. Yay Andrew!) So then I get another call from Brittany that when I was invoiced, I was not charged for one yard and was asked to pay by credit card. I gave card number and waited for shipping confirmation. A few days later, I got another call from Brittany that the LA store miscounted the yardage and that I was to get a refund on my card for the one yard. As of today, I still have not received the refund. I have received the fabric and it is everything I'd hoped it would be but I don't know if the headache was worth it. I don't think I will ever order from Mood Fabrics again.

Unlike lots of joints in the garment district, I've always gotten help pretty easily while shopping in MOOD. Between that and their selection I always leave in good shape.

The staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They helped me find the exact fabric I needed in what could have been an overwhelming experience. I ll be taking the train from Philadelphia often in the future.

So much more vast than on Project Runway! Great store, very friendly staff, a selection that cannot be described - you simply have to see it to believe it. We didn't intend to buy more than souvenirs and bought fabric anyway because our local fabric shops are nothing in comparison.

I'm a project runway fan so I definitely enjoyed visiting Mood fabrics.

The fabric selection is out of this world! Be prepared with a project before you grace the doors because the amount of choices are endless. The racks go from the floor to the ceiling and the isles are small. A designers delight!

Castro district is a fun area. Love the different hangouts, bars, shops. This is a great place to STOP and spend an hour looking and not really needing anything. But you WILL buy something lol. Love!

Cashier pretended to miscount the money. In her favor of course, twice. Other than that, the shop has a lot of great selections at good prices and the staff were helpful.

The worst customer service. Overcharged our small business Claudia Croazzo for overnight delivery that never happened then in an effort to save face the NYC manager provided a coupon to make us whole again from the $90 we spent extra for overnight shipping. When we used that coupon in a recent order we see that it was for 1 DOLLAR!!! Insulting at the very least.

A fantastic selection of overpriced fabric and snotty attitudes. If you love feeling like a burden for existing and asking service representatives for help (you know, their JOB), then I would definitely still not recommend this hole in the wall.

Yes, they have a great selection of fabrics but tourism represents a huge amount of their customer base. As a result, it s not cheap to shop at Mood. There are many other fabric stores in the area, if your not interested in the Mood name I d recommend picking a smaller store.

I have a good time my wife shops and I sit with the dog .we drive all the way from exeter N H. She was attending a sketching class .to help her with her design studio. She designs and alters wedding gowns, mother of the bride dresses,miss America gowns, and Irish step dancing outfits your store is very helpful.u can tell I'm so proud of her

I love Mood! I've been coming here since my freshman year of college which was over 17 years ago and I always enjoy it. Best to go early morning as it will get packed quite quickly. There is a large selection of different fabrics and the staff is always friendly. Don't forget to sign up for their mood card as you will get points for every purchase. Also, being open on Saturdays is such a nice bonus!

The the people there seem like they didn't want to help you. It seem liked a do it yourself kind of place. Not the fabric cutting though. That they will help you with. But you find fabric you need try looking for it yourself.

I recently visited Mood Fabrics during my visit to Los Angeles, California. The store had many options meeting my needs, there were so many available fabrics and trim that I kept changing my mind about what I wanted, I loved the many options available. I came across an amazing worker and a gentleman named John. John was very helpful and shared his expertise to help me make my purchase of fabrics and trim. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend you come visit Mood Fabrics.

I was looking for lace for a vail and I found the perfect one. This is the best place to go look for any kind of fabric.

Great fabrics nice staff all the good stuff you would want mood fabrics to have. Barbara D and her family went to mood fabrics and said it was exceptional. Great collection. Dusty but wide. Had an incident where I spilled water on one of the tables and staff was kind enough to help dry it up!

Thank you, Mood! If you sew, design, or just love fabric, coming to this place is an amazing experience. The staff is knowledgeable, the patterns are scrumptious, and the textiles are the highest quality. I come to Mood on nearly every trip I make to NYC.

There is a great selection of fabrics, good for if you're concerned with quality and brand names. However they weren't cheap. It can be intimidating for newcomers and it's hard to find help sometimes.

Note that the fashion fabrics are available on the third floor and the home fabrics (heavier and generally more expensive) are on the ground floor.

4 floors worth of fabric of every sort. Might not be too economical but at least there is plenty to pick from. Also they offer classes, some free, other at real cheap price. Totally great.
