I found here fabric for a couple of dresses really good quality
Literally every kind of fabric + trim on the 3rd floor. Home decor fabric on the first floor.
It is one of the biggest selection of fabrics i ever saw. You can find there basically everything. My feeling is that they are really great for designers and high end fabrics, beautiful selection and reasonable price. For like basics, like cotton shirting, poplins, basic jerseys i find them a bit overpriced
But their web site i find really bad. Customer service is not great, shipping costs, generak policy etc
The store is fantastic for its selection but very disorganized and customer service is surly. Do not EVER use their on-line service. They give you a total run-around and don't deliver. Completely unreliable and unprofessional.
This is THE most amazing fabric resource in the world! Calling it a "store" doesn't do it justice. There are locations in LA and NYC, and they have a lovely online collection as well. One can always count on the quality of the fabric and the in store assistance is unsurpassed. Yep I'm a fan. I send all my brides here, and I choose fabric here for myself. Plus... there's Swatch and Sam. Go meet them and get in the Mood.
Huge selection, friendly helpful staff, great prices. And Swatch was in!
There is an incredible selection of fabrics and accessories. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Look around for Swatch the mascot dog while you are there.
Great selection, huge store. My wife loved it. Plus, swatch is there so thats a plus.
Worth a visit if for nothing other than sheer selection and reputation. Three floors of fabrics, trims, leather and other sewing notions Mood is a rabbit warren of floor-to-ceiling bolts of fabrics across the apparel spectrum. Staff is very helpful and generous with swatching, but you may have to be a little aggressive getting someone's attention because this place gets busy. If you're seeking sheer selection, this is the place to go, but look at some of the nearby smaller shops if you want a good deal, Mood isn't cheap.
I Learned how to make my first tote bag here. Free classes BUT you must pay for the items that you need to make a tote bag, which is truly an investment for your future designs. This place has so many beautiful fabrics and tools to choose from, it's a fashion designers dream. Only downer is that they are pretty expensive expect to pay a large buck but for great quality .
Best place in the city to get a large selection of fabrics and tools fair price from low to high A++
Help might not be readily available, also don't expect the staff to know much about the fabrics, do your research before you go
If you sew or have a dressmaker - What type or color of fabric do you need? Mood Fabrics has it! Plus great selection of buttons, trim, fur pieces, real or faux. The most helpful staff. I have spent hours here, ogling the amazing selection. And I have never come away empty-handed. Mood also offers sewing classes for all levels of expertise and interest.
My favorite hangout. Every type of fabric available.
Love this place found my purple leather material I was looking for
Mood Fabrics is excellent for a plethora of sewing needs. While their trim department is small compared to the rest of the facility, it is still adequate and has a decent selection.
The floor on which you enter has several sections including silks, jaquards, brocades and chiffon . The floor below stores a wide selection of leather and firs as well as an impressive collection of shirtings from patterned to printed to solid. This is also where their sewing school is located. Finally, the top floor houses, among others, their suiting department. This department warrents special mention as to the right of the stairs is an incredible section of designer suiting. This includes fabrics from brands like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein to prestigious Italian imports . Prices in this department range from $20/yard to well over $150/yard as many would be nearly impossible to find elsewhere. While they are certainly more expensive than Joanns, the quality shows and if you are in need of a speciality fabric, Mood almost certainly has it.
Love the store. Wish they had more discounts at the. Time of purchase.
Went here the other day to purchase some fabric. They have a huge selection, but we were hurried out because they were about to start filming "Project Runway".
Unmatched selection of fabrics but a bit expensive because, frankly, people will pay and it's pretty much the only fabric store in NYC with such an extensive selection. The classes here are a good value, though, and the staff is pleasant.
contacted to customer service for faulty fabric but they are not willing to do anything. I do not recommend to shop at mood.
Great selection of fabrics, buttons, zippers, everything you need to be creative!
You find everything that you may look for . Best service , very helpful and very courteous
Very helpful staff. And a wide (and well organized) selection. Prices for some of the fabrics are a bit high though. But you can find some deals if you look.
Endless selection of fabrics and sewing supply for amateurs and pros alike. Takes a while to get used to and though there are many staffers around, the popularity of the place makes it difficult to find help at times.
Even though their store was very big and they had a wide variety of fabrics I absolutely despised their customer service. One time I came with my daughter to look for lace, so I asked one of the employees to help me look for it since the store was pretty big. But the employee said, go look for it yourself . I m never going back here again. I would recommend fabric house or chic fabrics.
The Mood Home fabrics customer service is disgusting. They need to do better! the lady running the floor white girl short/long hair cut was "to busy" to help me. She should be fired. The guy running rugister looked as if he was out to lunch mentally. All in all I hated my services. My team and I always run to Mood but my experience Mood Home today changed.
Selections on selections! Very helpful staff and just an amazing place to walk around
a very complete place in the field .. for professionals and beginners .. good attention. very expensive leathers or skins .. other fabrics at a good price
I love this place. A plethora of fabrics, tools, and even classes. Fabric heaven
This place was super cool! I've been interested in starting my clothing brand, and just seeing all of the different types of fabrics was already getting me pumped. I can definitely understand people getting overwhelmed, but I honestly though everything was well organized by type of fabric.
Took my girls there as they are huge fans of Project Runway. Was fun to see all the fabrics and Swatch, of course. Staff was friendly and helpful. Areas were small but wide enough to browse an pull off shelves. Even A few work tables/areas near natural light. A little hard to find, but fun to ride the old elevator - with a "real" elevator man - up . (Not able to review as a fabric store since this was my first fabric store visit ever.)
Poor customer service. Returns and refunds are near impossible.
I am giving 5 stars as I am huge fan of Project Runway, but I was so disappointed to turn up and there is Mood Homes on the ground floor and there was a sign saying Mood material is on another floor inside a building and the door was locked to get in. A real shame not to get to see it while visiting NY.
If you love fabrics this is the place for you an incredible selection, with really fantastic staff could spend days in there.
Mood fabrics is like a candy shop for the homegoods, fashion and sewing community.
If you're looking for fabrics, this is the place. Fabrics and styles beyond countable
I could live here. So much amazing fabric. Robbie was super helpful and friendly. Lots of staff hanging around that you can ask questions.
Love the store and all selections but staff is so not friendly.
Love this fabric store. The staff are wonderful and the variety of fabric made from real fibers ( not poly) is great. So glad there are still stores like these
OMG never seen a shop like this! its huge and the employees are very helpful and always smiling! simple loveit
It was very exciting to visit #Mood, the famous fabric store in NYC, where aspiring #ProjectRunway fashion designers select materials to create designer originals. So much to choose from, so little time!
Best staff, great fabrics...I could easily move in! I love Mood!!!
Had to see....
Overwhelming
I have used to be there and purchase fabrics. I usually should wait long time to cut my fabrics and the manager Sharon and Robert are terrible. so rude and unkind. other sales and cashiers are nice.
I went into Mood Fabrics for the first time on a quest to help my daughter who is taking a summer course. The staff at Mood are among the most helpful and knowledgable people that I have ever encountered. There are three floors of beautiful fabrics, buttons and trim that will satisfy even tthe most discriminating designer. I had so much fun trying to match swatches and the staff were delightful. I cant wait to go back there to look around again. Thanks again to you all for a fantastic experience.
Was super crowded, but was in and out in under an hour. Even got a reward card... whoop whoop. They have a little bit of everything on 2 floors. Definitely a one stop shop for all your needs for many crafting projects in general.
Really great selection of fabric and helpful staff. Went early morning on Monday and it wasn't too busy and good time to browse.
Any fabric lovers dream, plenty of very helpful staff too!
Excellent customer service, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and they have EVERYTHING.
Sometimes gets crazy crowded because of the tourists, but they do their best to keep the lines moving and have space in the aisles to move. I come here over the larger chain hardware stores.
SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.
THE CARIBBEAN GIRL ON THE GROUND FLOOR YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT.
* FABRIC SOURCING EXCELLENT
* PRICE COMPETITIVENESS POOR
* CUSTOMER SERVICE POOR
Very poor customer service, totally disorganized, horrific experienece!
Prices too high!!
GOOD SHOPPERS SHOULD NEVER BUY THERE!
Awesome place I had to visit Mood I Love Project Runway my Fav!!! And I met Swatch the Famous Dog
Super friendly and fast service. Everything organized. I came in and withing seconds I found what I was looking for.
Very helpful assistants. Love this place for my hijab scarf materials.
Be warned there is a house dog(as opposed to a house cat) but he is very cute and tame.
Beautiful fabrics and good customer service, but you have to put you bag at the door, so carry light
What can I say the place is amazing and has everything you need. It's one of the biggest in the city and has some of the best prices.
