This is a long overdue review... Our stay at the Montage was perfect. My partner took me there for my birthday and the staff went out of their way to make every detail perfect (flowers in the room, champagne...) The Service is impeccable on every single level - such a well-managed team. The views are gorgeous / the sunset spectacular. Poolside Bliss. Just go!

This is one of the nicest resorts in the OC. The staff is very well trained and extremely courteous. The resort has amazing views of the ocean and has a luxurious atmosphere that rivals the Pelican Hill Resort nearby. The restaurants and lounge are great as well. Definitely a pricey 5 star place but worth it. It was an unforgettable stay and I highly recommend staying it you can afford it.
I have not stayed at this resort, but I did walk the property and enjoy the cuisine at The Loft restaurant. It is a destination I hope to enjoy during a future visit. The staff here are top-notch, courteous, and professional. In the meantime enjoy some fine scenes I capture while on the premises.
My Uncle and cousin decided to do a nearby toad trip/drive and we ended up here. They have public paid parking and the view of the beach is so beautiful.
If you want to take a dip into the ocean, you may do so as there are several outdoor showers you can rinse sand off you afterwards. Reminder though that I did not saw any public dressing you so you may want to cover that.
There are a few wooden stairways from the walking strip above the cliffs going down the beach area. I saw some people do picnics and camp on the beach too, bring their picnic mats and baskets and lounging tents.
Walking strip on the cliffs overlooking the beach is a beautiful place as it is lined with plants. I just do not know if one is allowed to bicycle, skateboard, or pedel-scooter on the walking strip.
Overall, it is worth a visit. Great for an afternoon walk with the love of your life, family, friends, and furbabies.
There is no greater hospitality experience than the Montage. To the extra ordinary guest services to the free complementary Taylor guitars for guests to play, Montage does it the best.
Went for lunch and the food was great. However, they were cleaning the grease trap or septic while we were there so it was hard to relax with the smell.
the lobby area is this beautiful area with a giant balcony that allows in all the fresh ocean air. the lobby serves some finger food, like baked items or hummus, and drinks. the lobby gets busy around 3pm, but if you get there before then, there is usually some space. also, if you have a handicap parking car, you get free valet parking! otherwise, parking is pricey. with validation, it is $15/day.
Stayed several nights at the Montage Laguna Beach. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Service is excellent. We showed up to the pool side restaurant after it had just closed for a drink. The bartender was still there so he accommodated us and gave us an excellent afternoon cocktail. Would recommend highly.
Montage Laguna Beach is one of my favorite places in the OC area. It's not secluded to cause inconvenience, but there's a sense of exclusivity. It has an amazing view of an amazing stretch of the Laguna Beach front.
Visited the beach and hotel just to walk around and grab a drink. The atmosphere was very pleasant, inviting and decadent. I would like to stay on the property in the future.
The beach is nice, may not be the best for surfing or even swimming and other leisure activities. The park in front of the hotel is well kept. The sceneries are definitely worth taking a picture for. Nice place to be with families and friends!
Not very accommodating but a very beautiful beach. If you plan on getting shells go elsewhere. Be sure to bring your own umbrellas they only accommodate the hotel guests unfortunately.
Beautiful view from the main entrance lobby showcasing the ocean, pool area, and when the sunsets; makes a gorgeous romantic evening dinning at The Loft located directly above the lobby. Definitely recommend a visit, especially dining during sunset on the patio.
As a professional butler I must say the service here is extraordinary and natural, not forced for a Forbes review. Though my favorite part of the hotel is not the hotel itself...but the view. The birds of prey outside on the lawn are especially spectacular. Every fiber in my body feels just right here. It really seal the deal when they layout the carpet for you when you arrive.
The location is beautiful with a grand view of the ocean and clean beaches. The rooms have amazing views and have wonderful front porches. The service here is impeccable as the attendants are always aware and looking out for you.
It has everything. Quiet (nobody elses music choices), chatty waiters, food, drinks, towels chaise loungers, umbrellas, bold seagulls...... did I mention quiet?
This was my third stay here. My wife and I absolutely love this place. This stay was a little different because we spent a few days at the Ritz Carlton before staying at the Montage. Both resorts are absolutely wonderful. I would suggest either one to anyone.
The rooms were clean and beautiful. I didn't order room service. The view and location was really great, one of the best places in southern California.
