Hotel Montage is more than just a fantastic hotel in the sense of the word.

The walkways next to the beach are some of the best in this area of California. The vegetation is well kept and the views are always spectacular. The staff at Montage are very courteous and professional.

One of the best views of the ocean , delicious food and excellent service.

Great views.....a little pricey but overall gets a 4 star

Many have come from different places like up state, and northern County's, over seas, and many kinds of villages too.. And there language its awesome lol.. And you don't even have too leave your own state to meet people from other countries either .. Well I hope you all get to enjoy these places too .. The hotel is clean and has a great beach and pool. My issue is with the service. The Loft is the restaurant here, they messed up our orders twice and took a long time. Also our bathroom wasn't cleaned for three days even when we asked.

It is wonderful place to see sunset and enjoy time, usually I go there with my friends and sit around fireplace to see beach and hear the sound of beach.

The location is great, there's plenty to see as you walk around and take in the ocean views and sights.

My favorite beach in the world to go to! I call about three times a week now! I love that I has a beautiful walkway along with the beautiful beach. What more can you ask for? Maybe basketball court, tennis court.... lol I love this place!

Not up to Par. I've been to the Montage multiple times and up to this most recent Feb 2018 trip, had really enjoyed it. This time we checked out 2 days early.
The main lobby lounge bar with the Pacific views and Piano, and the Grand Staircase were both closed and blocked off (see photos). I am an early riser and need to get out of the room so as not to disturb the rest of my family, but there was really no place to go to sit and drink my morning coffee and read the paper.
And speaking of coffee... The Montage has removed the complimentary coffee that was provided for years at the Loft bar each morning at 6am. The host offered to help me 'purchase' coffee and noted that there was free coffee in the room. The room coffee has a very noisy 2 oz espresso machine that wakes everyone in your room (and probably the 2 adjacent rooms also). Seriously, for over $800 per night, you take away the complimentary coffee?
It was virtually impossible to get to the Loft bar and restaurant. From the south wing, you had to go up through the main lobby, down an elevator and enter the Loft through the rear service door and then walk through the middle of the dining room.
Renovations are fine, but the planning of the project was extremely poor. The main lobby could have easily been done in 2 stages, first the left side, then the right side with a temporary bar placed on the other half and would have resulted in minimal guest impact. Completely closing the Grand staircase and the entrance to the Loft at the same time was also a poor choice. First do the stairs, then do the floors so a guest could at least get to their rooms without a confusing maze of signs, stairs and elevators.
Before you go, make sure ask if their Reno's are completed.

Beautiful beach!! But can get crowded. Hop in to the hotel for some nice views, service, and cocktails (but be prepared to shell out!)

Used to be a great place. Too bad they ve lost all integrity. They LITERALLY let go of a bunch of their employees in an EMAIL - and some had been there for over 10, 15, and even 17 years. Go someplace else. Their employees are NOT happy. Just look at their mission and vision statements and their values vs. how they actually treated their so-called family . It s not hard to see. And it s interesting the GM and director of HR both got fired last month. Sounds like it s out of control and in complete disarray. Not the most relaxing or enjoyable place to be.

First time here, the workers here are friendly and helpful. The room is amazing.

I don't think it gets any nicer than this. If you think Laguna Beach and you want to experience the best--this is it.

Came here to smoke cigars, which is still allowed on the Lobby Bar. Beautiful view of the ocean! Drink prices are a bit steep.

Went here for a wedding. Such a lovely place, the hotel service was spectacular. The hotel oversees the beach.

When we drove from Las Vegas to Laguna beach and arrived at this beautiful resort. We quickly checked in and walked out to the bench that over looks the ocean from the end of the resort. When we got there it was sunset and it was one of the most beautiful views I d ever seen.

One we got there she knew exactly what was happening. There were no surprises left when I reached for the ring in my chest pocket and proposed. She saw it coming a mile away with the sights and my lack of being slick.

It all worked out well though as she said YES and then we went and got ready for a amazing dinner at the Loft.

Our room was beautiful and everything was perfect. We also got to enjoy the piano bar and a couple cocktails before dinner.

If your looking for a special weekend or romantic get away then this is the place for you.

Not 5 Star! BEWARE! Valet/door men were lazy and complacent. Rarely opening the vehicle doors when leaving or returning, did not greet us when returning. There was no visible security, homeless man was sleeping on the park bench steps away from our $3300/night "bungalow" patio. We were told by reception desk that security was in "plain clothes", what's the point of that. Group of motorcycle bikers were working on motorcycles at front entrance on drive way. We were instructed by front desk that nightly turn down service was by request only, we would need to call every night to request. When we requested housekeeping, 2-3 hours later no housekeeping service would arrive, was told that 100% occupancy was causing delays. Every time we attempted to make reservations at hotel restaurants we were given available times of 5:30 or 9:45 for our party of 4. Hotel pool and common areas appeared very empty, did not seem very busy for all the wait times we were quoted. We witnessed a couple having sexual intercourse in the hot-tub in front of our children, guess thats why it was drained the next morning. There was no dresser in the room for clothes, front desk explained that recent renovations was the reason for no dresser. I told the front desk that we were having to live out of our suitcases that were laying on the floor, bugs were crawling into our clothes. Every time we called room service or front desk we were told that they were busy and needed to call us back. Room service always quoted us 1-1.5 hour wait times, so I would just go to lobby bar and carry the champagne bottle back to the room. I explained to the bartender that the room service was a disaster, he agreed. The time we did order room service the fruit was spoiled and food was old and un-edible. I spoke with the front desk about the concerns mentioned in this review, their response was "I'll pass it on to our team". That was their response to everything, felt like I was talking to a robot. The hotel seemed very under staffed and was definitely not five star. We did everything we could to avoid spending time there. I regret spending $15k for a 4 night stay, especially with so many other options available. I'm canceling our up coming stay at their resort in Cabo, as I'm sure it's management is not any different.

The staff at the STUDIO was everything I expected and MORE . Top notch if I say so myself. Appetizer must ! the " little cigars"

Beautiful hotel ...with beautiful views but the Beach wins Award....absolutely wonderful, clean calm waters some of the clearest i have seen in the Oc beautiful late afternoon and early evenings.

Fancy but if you want an amazing experience with an even better view, go here
