Monkey Puzzle Beefeater Review

Walk in no book table abd service not frienly said table by the bar no smile. Order food by the till bar I saw some other table staff come pick up order !! Ordered stake with salad is ok but salad was very old left over so many day !! I ask another salad still the same!! If you not that desperate for food looking somewhere better .

Terrible place, nice interior but that's it. Food took about hour and half the beef was so dry I couldn't even swallow it, bbq beans rock hard, chips like cardboard pre-made frozen and couldn't even cook them right for 20 quid that's poor! most customers you could see were not impressed. staff were ok it's not their fault but just run bad there wasn't even that many people and at one point everyone was waiting for food definitely will not be returning and would advise not to waste your money I can't believe it hasn't closed down.

So we have eaten here for breakfast and dinner last week. The service has been excellent by both Rhys in the evening and the girls at breakfast. Great food and great atmosphere. The procedures that have been put in place and are executed by all staff are brilliant. I ve felt very safe in the current climate. Thank you

The magic can be still found here. Superb service all meals delivered at same time. Very nice staff. Large portions!

Saw the manager take a kid to see the chefs and get icream when the kitchen quietened down. The chefs greeted him with smiles and a chat.

Though no longer jungle themed it's internal open plan multi level design is mesmerising.

Quite busy but only 2 staff serving. Seats by door were all that were available (upstairs seating closed) and it was cold. Food took ages to come and by the time we were offered desert, we were too cold. Tea pots didn't even have lids.

Nice good looking pub but the service is sloooooow! 50mins for a burger! Nice when it arrived though. Vicky the chef is okay.

Food was luke warm. Got less than half way through and it had gone cold. Didn't have time to wait for another meal as we had a 4 hour drive. No staff about to complain. Didn't eat it all..... Disappointing

Awful service. Waited nearly an hour to order our food. Sauces were missing and were told they would bring them to us....it never came! We ordered mini puddings and hot drinks.....we finished the puddings before the hot drinks arrived. Then the hot drinks order was wrong!!!
Do not waste your money and come here. Food is average and service is poor!!!

Food is good for breakfast but service is appalling and had to go through 20 plates at the buffet to find a clean one.manager did not have the time to talk, when asked he pointed out another plate pile to use which was as equally dirty. (You can see food marks and feel the dirt so no exaggeration). Beefeater group needs to look into this. Not great when you have children!!! Also chairs not the cleanest!!

Food was amazing and the decor looks great too. Our server could not have been more accommodating. Only downside was some of the seating is very open and isn't private so definitely better for families rather than a date

Food was good, however, let down by lack of management. Look to be understaffed and service was so slow!!

Breakfast was terrible... food was cold and had to wait an age for beans tomatoes to come out and the orange juice was warm. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Arrived at 1pm having booked for lunch . Waited over an hour for starters to arrive !!! Food was ok and i think the staff were doing their best but not enough of them . Used this place several times before but will probably not bother again .

Slow service had to wait some time just to order drinks let alone the food which was good when it eventually arrived.

This is without doubt the very worst Beefeater we have ever visited.

Firstly we arrive at 5pm to be told all the tables are booked so we would have to use the bar. At 7pm there are at least 50% of those tables still free. Maybe they know the service is awful and very slow so thought we would still be there when the guests arrived.

The service is awful and slow. Firstly they had one person serving at the bar with many people having to queue to order their food and drinks as they are clearly diverting everyone away from the restaurant. I had to ask three times for the kids dessert, even then there was no apology for the wait and no one took away our dirty plates.

The food was not really up to usual Beefeater standard. The Potato skins were rather undercooked. We only order these as our preferred option was out of stock.

Finally when sitting in the bar area there are people crowding around us as there was not enough staff to serve.

All in all a pretty poor experience from Beefeater.

Well it's exactly what you would expect from a Beefeater. The food is well cooked and presented. Portions are good and the service is quick and efficient. If it's busy it can get a little slower but nothing too noticeable. The staff are friendly and very accomodating.
If you want s quick meal with some slightly different twists from the norm then give it a whirl.
We come every time we're in Chessington and would have no qualms of coming again.

Must admit we were a bit hesitant at eating here after reading some of the reviews. We stayed at the Premiere Inn next door for three night and had two breakfasts and two evening meals at the Beefeater we could not fault the food, service or staff who were polite and very welcoming. I can understand how busy it must be during the season, after all, it s next to a theme park but we enjoy it.

It's a standard Beefeater, very bright and airy. The Food appears to be ordered in and then cooked rather than freshly made there and then and cooked, but it's okay for what it is. If you are going during term time it's fairly fast service, but during the school holidays it can get extremely busy, and the quality goes down hill very easily as it gets lots of trade from the theme park next door.

The bar is offers a good range of ale and larger which is to it's advantage. It's great for a couple of drinks and bar food.

staff are very hit and miss some are great whilst others clearly dont want to be there. Food takes an eternity.

Very wide verity of dishes for a reasonable price. Most of the Staff are very attentive. Request that Daniel is your waitress. She is wonderful. Always best to pre-book before you arrive.

Plenty of parking with the Premier Inn. Lots of indoor and outdoor tables. You can have bar food or restaurant service. Food is well cooked, and menu is varied. There are lunchtime special cheaper options.

POOR SERVICE!, Impatient waiters and food takes ages to come to your table, I've waited 50 minutes for food and angry waiters if you ask for a second service, they said the kitchen had shut, but will let new costumer in and take their order no problem! if they don't like their job they shouldn't be working here!

Rubbish service and food delivered cold or left under the lamps too long so dried up. Carefree attitude of staff and unwilling to help. We normally like beefeater for the kids but unfortunately monkey puzzle has been a let down tonight.

Great Beefeater,
be aware if eating directly after Chessington closes because it will be heaving and therefore service will be slower.
We usually book to eat an hour or two after the theme park closes so it's fairly quiet.

I ve had good and bad experiences here. Nice place as in the building is nice. We had a very nice waiter. One of us ordered off of the daytime saver menu... if you order ribs it s not a big enough portion to be honest.. I understand that s why it s on the value menu, but maybe add a bigger portion of chips. Chips are still bottomless so we got by by ordering more. But my point is, if they put a bigger portion of chip on in the first place it would disguise the size of the ribs portion

I love this place, but last time our experience wasn't very pleasant, the beef lasagne past was a bit raw inside of it.

Sorry to say this was probably one of the worst dining experiences of my life. It was a catalogue of disasters saved only by the lovely waiting staff. I don't think I would be persuaded to come here again unless they upped their game. Such a lovely interior let down by below average service...could do better

Table booked for 5pm on a Sunday - arrived promptly, shown to our table after 5 minutes and then made to wait 40 minutes for the food to turn up. The food itself was not great. Greatly overpriced for what was served up. Went to pay and the attitude of the waitress soon changed when she realised we hadn't left a tip. Never asked if we had enjoyed our meal and were never approached during the meal to check everything was ok. Won't be coming here again for dinner.

Although the food was nice and can't fault it the service was shocking the waiter was miserable and took ages to take our order and we didn't receive some of the order either had to call another waitress to get more drink as our waiter was walking around with a face like a a slapped ass avoiding eye contact with us

The food and staff were good and a good place to go after Chessington

Have a dads breakfast here every now and then with a friend and his kids, it's great value as the kids eat for free. The breakfast is buffet style all you can eat. The restaurant is nice and open with lots is space, it's comfortable and clean and the food is good quality.

So haven't come in 2 years because of how terrible this place Was. Got a cheap voucher posted so We dared to come back. Was sat down at 6pm restaurant not busy. No service for 20 min so went to bar to get our own drinks. Eventually More

Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. I love the interior and feature staircases!
Food is always delicious from a simple prawn cocktail to a hamburger! Service during peak times (when everyone is leaving Chessington World of Adventures just around the corner) can be a little slow however I have never been waited on and not been apologised to!
Great place to go for an afternoon lunch, lovely!

Visited today....awful food,cold and rubbery...no fried eggs no pancakes to name a few the general layout was shambolic had to fight through the crowd to get to the juice. Tea cups stained from previous drinks..would have gone with no stars but had to leave at least 1 so I could type something....1st and last visit

Food ok but not brilliant. Fingerprint on my torte and white wine spritzer tasted like it was made with desert wine and lemonade. It's ok. Burger was good.

Fantastic value, service was quick and friendly, would definitely recommend!

Stay in the premier inn next door and this place doesn't get any better. Usual beefeater food topped off with bad service. Wait for an age at an empty bar (well empty other than dirty glasses all over it) to be served with little enthusiasm.

Picked up a menu to peruse whilst having a drink and got snapped at by the maitre d. 'no food in the bar'. I pointed out I was just looking which caused a repeat of the previous cry. I was eventually allowed to look at the menu in peace over a pint of Guinness but this time decided against ordering. I got a cab to nearby Esher and had a cracking meal.

Awful!!! This is the worse Beefeater I have ever been too (And that takes some doing) If you have just been to Chessington for a day out, and think that this will be a nice place to eat with the kids, then think again. Do not stop here.
We popped in yesterday, and whilst it was clean and friendly, Our Waitress Lauren was fantastic. The issue was the food was just so bad!

My kids has sausage and mash. The mash was hard and dry and felt like it had been left under a heat lamp for an hour. neither of them ate either of the 3 sausages as they tasted like crap.

My wife had the Chicken Bacon Stack, which said came with a slice of mature cheese. What it actually had was a slice of fake cheese like you get for your burgers for BBQ's in the summer. Not cheese at all. The chicken 'Breast' was about the thickness as the slice of Bacon. It was just terrible.

I had the burger, which mercifully was cooked ok, but again had fake cheese slices instead of actual cheese and fries that had the consistency of cardboard.

Avoid at all costs until they get a better chef/menu. I honestly don't know how Beefeater stays in business.

Breakfast ok. Got there early on Sunday but most hot things were all dried up. Shame as evening meals are excellent.

Slow service, food was average and the deserts were far from what was advertised.

Our steaks in the evening were all undercooked despite a couple of our group asking for them well done we sent a steak back for further cooking but still came back bloody. We had to ask for cutlery and nick napkins from other tables as none were placed on our table.
Breakfast wernt great plates very grubby not washed properly.

Came here for father's day a couple of years back and was a lovely experience. Food was nice, although service was relatively slow. Would recommend but suggest avoiding holidays such as father's day, mothers day, etc due to delay in table service.

They serve large portions and for convenient prices. nice employees. Highly recommended.

Food was terrible. Came out barely warm. The prawn cocktail was rediculous. More salad than prawns! Maybe 3 or 4 if that. Beer was also flat and we had to take it back. But the manager who I spoke to was extremely nice and refunded our entire meal with no problems.

Popped in for breakfast on the way to Chessington as only 5 minutes away. The breakfast was good buffet style with plenty on offer as you would expect. The table layout is a bit strange as sat right next to the buffet in-between where you would collect plates so constant traffic walking past the table and some loose floorboards on seating so bopping up and down a bit.

Dirty, food is normal but not very tasty. Short roadside eatery sorry do not advise

Used to go there for many years it's really gone down,went 5 years ago was a bad meal, thought go back try again not much change had t wait nearly an hour for main course will say the food was not to bad stuffing stone cold lamb tough,it's the smell of the place no decorating done in ten years ,carpets sticky don't get me started on the toilets let's say you need a gas mask making a point not to go back.

Starter was nice but the steak was full of fat and grizzel
