Birthday celebration with 14 at a long table great service and food. Staff were friendly and patience when taking the orders. They were happy to to bring the lighted birthday cakes that we had bought in to the table. We had a lovely family get together
Not a fan. Service was slow and it wasn't that busy. Food is not great either. That said the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Because we took two hours for our meal and the main course was cold and we had to send it back and had it replaced . Waited half an hour for dessert......asked for crumble with ice cream so after 1/2 hour waiting it came with custard asked for ice cream was bought cream and finally 3rd time lucky was delivered ice cream . Service was appalling!!!!
Haven't been there for years, and what back rescue loved it
Dropped in here for lunch. Both of us enjoyed the meal. Many thanks to David our waiter who looked after us.Happy to have a quick chat with us. Friendly but professional. Thank you.
Sadly their delivery had gone astray so they had no draught beer. But our waitress did go out of her way to find a bottle of Adnams so an extra Star for that.
Everyone happy with their food and I would recommend the vegan burger.
Buffet breakfast was very nice, at dinner steak had to be sent back as was cold apart from that food was pretty good.
Service was atrocious, restaurant was not full but had to wait for ages to be served, even had to hunt someone down to pay the bill, a joke.
Seemed understaffed, we were made to wait too long at every stage of our meal here. One of our kids had pizza which had raw flour on its base and the other was missing a side and her burger bun was completely stale. Then my wife pudding didn't arrive with the others but finding a member of staff to tell was tricky. Also the 'monkey puzzle' thing is a bit crafty. You might think that the restaurant has some Julia Donaldson theming as it's around the corner from Chessington but it doesn't. We had seen the pictures and knew this but they definitely knew what they were doing. Nice decor though and my burger was delicious.
Nice staff member, very pleasant. Had the mixed grill. Steak wasn't nice or the chips but the majority of other food was ok. Fresh egg cooked properly. Would try again just to see if the steak and chips improved.
Food was good. Staff polite and friendly although understaffed. Had to wait ages for our ketchup, we nearly finished the meal before it came, the refill drinks took a while to be refilled and they took a while to take our payment when I had a baby and 3 year old and needed to get them home. Very slow service only ordered mains and it took 2.5 hours in total.
Super nice food very highly recommend the tuna steak, the chef is quite brilliant and the service staff are as good as it gets, great look to the place too
Brilliant food great atmosphere Reece the waiter couldnt do enough for me and my family, despite the covid obstacles. Would thoroughly recommend especially if your planning on going to chessington as its right next door. Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment of being turned away or a lengthy wait.
We didn't have a table reservation but they were able to seat 6 of us without too much of a fuss. Good value for kids to eat free with paying adult. However some breakfast items had ran out and they were slow on replacement.
Lovely interior and good hygiene and food good but service is often torturingly slow and they run out of stuff. Staff way too overworked. Same story for years now...
We stood waiting to be seated for 30 min. Not enough staff,
Great varied menu staff welcoming and friendly fantastic service
Food was cold and the place want even busy. Sold out if desert I wanted and was quite early 5pm. Customer service wasnt great
Awful place, staff dropped a plate from height onto a child's head. An ambulance had to be called.
Personal experience here was good - good value for money, meals came out quickly, and definitely worth it on a day out in Chessington World of Adventures. Especially after we returned our terrible vampire burger meal! Only a short walk here too, with cheap and cheerful lunch options.
We came on a quiet afternoon so no idea if it was busier but all in all good!
Nice vibrant place with good menus. Service always seems to be very slow
Lovely building, food good. Lunch time deals are good value.
Friendly staff. The roast beef was cold when arrived but the staff was very apologetic and return the food hot but the medium rare beef became overcooked. Luckily with the welcome back voucher it was reasonable.
Disappointing. Didn't have my drink, run out of peppar sauce brought wrong meal to table then returned with under cooked steak. Had better eating experiences from a burger stall. Couldn't recommended
Great food, great setting, free parking and no trouble getting a space
Most of our order was incorrect, with missing food items and no real apology given.
Visited on 4 occasions whilst staying in the hotel.
Service off food was slow 3 out of 4 visits.
Mistakes appeared on the bill on both occasions that we had dinner.
Quality of food is low, but this is as to be expected really.
Limited choice of drinks.
Pretty standard medium cost chain eatery profiting of low quality food being served using as few staff as possible.
Much much improved! We went here almost a year ago and the place was a absolute joke. We met the new manager who had just taken over back then and after going back on Friday its safe to say he has really turned the place around. Prompt service, good food and clean. Weldone!
It was ok the food was has expected. Although the service was a little slow there was very busy. Good value for money though. Worth a visit if there's nothing else close by.
Went here for breakfast and full breakfast was decent enough
Awful!! Food cold after waiting 45 mins for service after ordering. Waited a further 15mins for kitchen to refresh 2 prawns and some skampi which also arrived not freshly cooked.
Will never return to this hole again. To think that you have to work a day to earn the money to take your family out and these crooks make a complete mess of a good day out.
Lovely breakfast helpful staff, met the chef Matt who was lovely and helpful and talented
Terrible service and food your best to Go hungry than eat here
Nice place, a good size restaurant with lots of seating inside and outside. The service was good, and food come in a good time. The WC was clear, and we'll maintained. There is a carpark next to it. The food was nice, and looked nice. They also do a breakfast menu. Would go again. If in the area it's worth a try.
Horrible food waited a hour. The waiters forgot half our food forgot a burger and forget our corn on the cob. TERRIBLE
Well what can you expect..... a chain restaurant serving chain food and beer. It was ok didn't set the world alight
Waited 20 mins to be seen at concierge station to be refused seats even though they had a whole section free would never return as attitude of staff was terrible
Quick service, good food at reasonable cost. Would recommend booking when Chessington World of Adventures open as busy in evening.
Same as every other Beefeater, good food, friendly staff.
I have been coming to the monkey puzzle for about 5 years now, and I have always been impressed by the food and the service.
The staff are always so friendly, and the food is always of a high standard.
Whatever the occasion, the Monkey Puzzle is an excellent Beefeater Grill.
Nice place to go, food is good, waited a bit to long for, but worth the wait
Staff are happy and happy to help, didn't have any parking issues,
Food was ok when we eventually got it. Felt sorry for the waiters and waitresses, they were clearly understaffed for such a busy and very big restuarant. Dirty plates and glasses were left on the tables, where the staff were to busy to clear them. This in turn made the waiting time to get a table that was free to sit down longer. Shame on the bad management of Beefeaters, probably due to Headoffice cutting down on staffing budgets.
This Beefeater is well overdue for a refurbishment. The carpets are strained, even dirty with loose debris. The tables are sticky and the cutlery appears stained, obviously, (hopefully), cleaned but not cloth dried leaving them dirty looking. The general decor is tatty. It has the overall appearance of an old unkempt pub. The staff are friendly and accommodating. My work involves me working away a lot so I experience these chain restaurants frequently so this isn't an off hand review and my hope is that this review is to improve the situation to the standard that Beefeater expect to deliver.
I have been to many Beefeater's and this one in comparison is awful. On first impression the interior architecture looks appealing however that was probably the best thing from this visit. Food and drinks took ages to arrive, it wasn't all warm. We also had a speaker above our heads playing extremely loud music, given it's proximity to our table, when we asked to be moved they said it wasn't possible (there were other seats available...)
Shame really given the proximity to Chessington World of Adventures.
Great services but food was served cold. Issue sorted quickly
Had rost beef dinners. Not to usual standard. Half the usual size and slightly overcooked. Fish and chips and mixed grill could not be faulted.
Understaffed at dinner time, queue for bar was excessive due to 1 member of bar staff. Breakfast was worse one man working on his own on the floor clearing away, setting food out, doing coffee etc not good during peak season!!!
Good friendly service, was busy so our food was slow to come
Staff only cater for the people in restaurant not very good at looking after people just wanting a pint after work only 10 men In the bar area bar man not able to cope.
Ps nice pub
Nice bar and restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good was good quality. Cannot fault it in any way. Good value meals as well.
We stayed at the Premier Inn next to Beefeater and ate our evening meal and breakfast. The food was excellent, well priced and a good selection. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Our waitress, Kirsty, was especially friendly, efficient and made our evening enjoyable, she's a credit to the company. Reason for not giving 5 stars is that the heating wasn't working probably that evening and restaurant was quite cold so we kept out coats on all evening.
staying chessington lovely waitresses brilliant with my son needs lovely and clean good food
Restaurant has a nice layout,2 floors, food was good,I had surf n turf,8oz sirloin with prawns, scallops, calamari and triple cooked chips, nice staff for the service, would go again.
