I dealt with Michael Mansur and he was excellent. From beginning to end it was a smooth transaction. He answered every question and helped every step of the way. Local branch in Oxnard is awesome. Norma Sandoval and Jonathan Sandoval are great. Once the loan is closed and you have to follow up on main offices everything is the opposite. Months go by without anyone taking phone calls or returning calls or emails.

The staff is very nice to work with and responsive. They remind me opportunities for refinancing when it is possible. The cost for refinancing is nearly nothing. The details about my loan is always very clear from their website, such as the balance, amortization schedule, the hypothetical amortization schedule with extra payments, etc.

I have mixed feelings about my experience with The Money Store. The refi was for a rental property that I own. The loan officer was spectacular. 6+ rating if that was possible. MLD central office was less so: going from lost emails that I never received to delays in closing to giving me incorrect Closing Docs. MLD central office would receive a 2 or 3 from my perspective. The Loan Officer would receive a 6. I averaged to arrive at 4. Closing occurred with a notary visiting my home. I had to sign off certifying that I don't have COVID or am not sick, but what about my own safety? Nothing was provided by MLD to ensure my safety. All this of course occurred during the COVID pandemic; however, I refinanced my primary home with another lender, and the entire process was online and went very, very smoothly. Electronic signatures, etc. Why couldn't MLD implement the same for my rental property?

But he set up reasonable expectations from the start, so we knew what we were getting into. The Money Store has an automated system, that kept me posted of missing documents, new information, etc. Pretty easy to use, with a simple login. Robert's assistant AnnMarie was very thorough, and explained everything along the way. I felt comfortable....and that's what matters. :-)

This is the worst company to work with. The entire team including underwriting doesn t have any knowledge of how a mortgage application looks and how to fill the application , review the asserts . They are the worst people to work with.

The experience I had with the recent refinancing application was terrible. It took almost a year to close. Yes, one year end to end and because it took so long to close, I had provide all documents multiple times. Towards the end after I was told that the underwriter cleared the application and it was ready to be closed. I still had to email on a daily basis to follow up just to find out the closing date. I don t know how this company operated, but the communication between the departments is almost non existent.

I couldn't believe how fast the whole refinance process went. From my first contact to closure was less that 30 days. The rate was the best I had seen with no points. The process was also painless. I supplied all of the info they requested in a timely manner to prevent me from holding up any paperwork. Communication was great and their online tracker was great. I couldn't be happier with the experience.

Kevin Zhu is amazing! He does what he says he'll do when he says he'll do it. He's clear about what he can offer and there are no false promises.
