King George Animal Rescue League and King George Animal Control Review

I am writing a thank you and a review of the King George County Animal Control. On November 17, 2018 my cat somehow got out and we couldn t find him. I called KG animal control and spoke with a few people. They were all very nice and concerned about my cat. Unfortunately, they didn t have my cat. I put up signs in the neighborhood and searched for three days. Then on the following Monday, I called to see if they d found my cat and spoke with Brandy. Brandy told me what to do to find cat and where to look. She also sent a follow up email giving more information. Among other things, Brandy said that cats tend to hide under sheds. So, I went outside to look under sheds and heard a crunchy noise on the other side of the fence, I walked around and sure enough he was under my neighbor s shed!

I am so grateful that she gave me that advice. I was under the impression that if I walked down the street calling his name that he would come, but that wasn t the case. I had to coax him out from under the shed because he was too afraid to come out.

What if I call and the police do not respond?
If you do not achieve a satisfactory response, call again. Determine who the supervisor is and call that person. Keep records of every call, noting date, time, and contact person. If there still is no action, call your local prosecutor s office and report your concerns. If there is a pattern of the police not responding, you might want to contact the office of the mayor or chief of police to register a complaint, or reach out to a local investigative reporter or other local media to share the information, and also use social media.

The lady T.M. was so nice she had me email pictures of our precious fur baby and confirmed having her there. I'm so thankful for their diligence is getting her and keeping her safe and warm and fed till we were able to pick her up. Thank you so much to all the staff. Godbless

This office is useless. There has been a horse tied up and starving for months and they've been contacted multiple times and done NOTHING. They told the folks that made the report over the winter that the owners of th eff horse would shoot them if they tried to check on the horse again. Sgt. Brooks and his office should be truly ashamed of themselves.

They helped reunite me with my kitty! I wish I had the name of the man who helped me but he had great bedside manner, was kind and patient. Thank you so much!!!

I found a dog running loose in Dahlgren. I took the to be checked for a chip. The dog wasn't chipped. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much the officers and staff working there really do care about their furry little visitors. They instructed me how to verify owner info and to make sure I didn't give the cute little guy to the wrong people. The officer took my information and actually called a few days later to see if I had found the correct owner. I did! His name is Rex and he ran out the door the day I found him. The interaction changed my negative view of animal control in King George. The only negative is that I was told they don't take in stray kitties.
